Economic way to get to Great Kepple

Affordable, friendly, on time. We chose this economical way of travelling to the island. Departures on time. Interesting way of docking due to no wharf on island but still felt very safe un-boarding and re-boarding on Great Kepple. Island is NOT suitable for assisted mobility.

A experience everyone is recommended to have!!

Guided snorkelling was the best part of the day. Affordable, easy and most importantly breathtaking sights of the fish and the corals in the sea.

Relaxing on GKI

Excellent day trip to the island. Enough time allowed to wander around, find a private spot on the beach under the trees and just relax.

Day trip with dog

Great day out. Ferries were on time and all the staff very friendly. Was great to take the dog over for the day. Easy to access snorkelling equipment.

Awesome ferry crew 👏

Great young crew running the ferry over and back. Unfortunately the island itself is pretty run down. The lookout walk was poorly maintained and we couldn't see much when we got there. The staff at the resort were very knowledgeable about tides for snorkelling and we had a great time swimming and snorkelling. The bar was relaxing for some drinks before our return ferry trip

Family fun day trip

The skipper and deckie were amazing , the water was a little rough but it was a smooth ride . We had an amazing day trip , very relaxing and enjoyable .

A great trip to see the reef!

This was a great trip to snorkel on the southern Great Barrier Reef. Be prepared as there is some hiking, climbing and descending steep and rocky tracks in order to get to the best snorkelling spots though. Everyone was very helpful and we had clear instructions on how to get where we needed to be. The hike was fairly strenuous, but the snorkelling was fantastic and made it worth the effort. I would suggest you consider paying extra in order to get a boat tour/trip around the island in order to get more easily, and to more of the great snorkelling areas. Our package also included lunch and there was a good selection of great meals to choose from. Overall, an excellent trip to Great Keppel Island!

Great day out

It was a great day out as a family, unfortunately the weather wasn’t fantastic so the waters weren’t as clear to no fault of anyone’s! The crew were great and so was the trip there and back. It’s definitely easy enough to find. Lunch was also great!! Be mindful with little ones (our youngest is 4). It’s ALOT of walking on sometimes steep ‘unmaintained’ tracks around the island. There’s no barricades or ropes so it could best little dangerous. I also don’t love that you have to muck around filling out forms and collecting the gear on one side of the beach to then walk all the way to the other side of the beach to start your journey. Overall I do recommend just consider if taking young children.

Perfect place for meditation

An amazing and beautiful island with the best service at the Bar and Baristo, the workers were very friendly and I look forward to another trip soon with my family.

Great Keppel getaway

From the start of the process of going to the return KK were great. Booking was with ease and no issues with changing times. Staff were always very helpful and polite. The captain and crew on board where great and worked well at looking after everyone, great teamwork, friendly and Professional. Highly recommend using KK for any of their services.

Great Keppel Island

Beautiful location, a very enjoyable day out for your family. We loved the snorkeling, lunch was nice. Relaxing beaches.

The crew are great, very friendly trip over only took about 30mins easy to find the marina great way to get to great Keppel for a day trip

Day trip bundle.

The staff were very friendly from the booking to the captain to the deck hands and the snorkel hire staff. The staff at the hut for the snorkel gear went the extra mile and despite being crazy busy and very hot they were polite. We walked to long beach and had a swim, then walked to monkey beach to snorkel and then on to shelving beach to snorkel again which was well worth doing all 3. Lunch was enjoyable and good value and we didn’t have to wait too long. The ferries were punctual and recommend the package deal. Dan and Ellie were awesome and made an effort to chat to us when they could. Thankyou

Perfect day all round

Had an amazing day over on Great Keppel, the boat ride over and back was smooth sailing. Lunch and snorkelling hire was part of the ticket. Food and drinks were a lot better than expected and really good quality snorkelling equipment. Lots of sea life to be seen in some beautiful warm clear water. Had an awesome time, would recommend highly

Easy boat ride for kids...

Easy boat ride for kids aged 6-15. Great adventure to the snorkeling beach - they could snorkel off the beach and see reef, turtles, sting rays. Gear all worked well and the people were friendly and gave great advice. Good mobility is necessary for the hike over! The lunch place on the island was also great.

Lovey day at Keppel

Friendly staff. Lovely day. No issues. Food was average. We had a great day overall. Sand is white and water perfect

OUR GETAWAY

My partner and I went over to Great Keppel from a Wednesday and stayed until Friday. The whole trip was so easy with it all beginning by catching a boat through Keppel Konnections. The staff on the boat were friendly and helped answer any questions we had or might have had. Everyone we dealt with throughout the trip were all just amazing.

Loved Great Keppela

The boat ride out to Great Keppel was great - really friendly and professional staff. We did the boat transfer with the lunch and beverage package which was great value. Great Keppel Island was stunning. We saw a lot snorkelling from Shelving Beach.

A great day

The water wasn't the best because of algea but we had a good time on the Island, snorkelling, the shop and Cafe had great food. Enjoyable day.

best Queensland Island visit of 4 island so far

great ferry connection with friendly staff good boats and what a bargain at $50 return. Had a fabulous 3 hour walk on the island and had the whole walk to ourselves. great views, beaches, and historic homestead and farming history.

Great snorkelling trip with some improvements needed.

Day was great, lovely surroundings, great snorkelling, good lunch. Few comments however. Boat ride over didn’t have a safety briefing which was necessary as ride was quite choppy, would have been nice to know where the life jackets were. Noticed on the return trip that the young man did one in the front of the boat, but not the back. Confused where to go when arrived to island, dropped off middle of the beach, no clear signs. Snorkelling gear was good, although again, confusing as to where to go. Was not told closed in shoes would have been handy as a fair distance to walk to some beaches. Package deal gave 2 food options but bar staff said we could have anything on the menu. Also took some time to come out which made for a stressful situation when catching the boat soon after. Overall, a great day out, great value for money, there’s some areas to work on though.

Best day out

We had the best day on Great Keppel Island. The crew onboard the Kepple Konnections were amazing and the check in staff went above and beyond to change our return connection to suit us. The water is gorgeous 😍 definitely want to return.

Everything great time nice staff great weather nice food awesome time would like to stay next time and check out a few of the walking tracks and snorkelling as well

Disappointing

The beaches and water clarity. Disappointing food experience. We ordered burgers and they came to us in about 3-4 minutes wrapped in foil which I thought a little strange but concluded they had to have been precooked. Upon unwrapping and lifting the burger I noticed that the bun was very cold as if it had come out of a refrigerator. I returned the burger the young server apologised and said she would have the attended to????. 3 minutes later the burger was returned and the bun at best was mildly lukewarm at least not cold. Very disappointing given the rest of the day.

We loved it and will do it again. From the ferry to the relaxing time on the beach. To the snorkeling of the island. It was great

Brilliant time on Keppel

Took my dog for a day trip to Keppel Island . Took the earliest boat at 7.30 and the latest at 6.20pm not to miss happy hour 😁and sunset in beach bar. Loved the trip (already planning to come with my husband for a few days) and my dog was the happiest pup ever ( very dog friendly all around !) Will definitely use Keppel connection again : friendly (and not just dog friendly😜), plus I love that it is a small boat (40-45 people I think ) and not big comercial one .

Fun in the sun

Service from the ferry crew was friendly and excellent. We were entitled to free snorkel gear or an hours paddle boarding or an hours kayaking.. As there were 2 of us, they allowed us to use a combination. So we shared snorkeling and SUPing. The young man at the kiosk even offered to help carry the heavy board. The lunch was delicious too!

A great experience, a hidden gem.

The walking tracks to remote beaches. Perhaps state govenment could put in some cash to upgrade the walking tracks, there is potential to snap an ankle. Several paths are steep and slippery. For families this needs attention. Despite this the experience was memorable and I would go back.

Give me a refund

Payed $360 for 4ppl to get the all inclusive day trip package to GKI including lunch and a beverage. Arrived on the island and were advised there was a country music festival on so we weren't allowed to go into that area unless we paid for a festival ticket. The festival area included the main restaurant where we were supposed to have our free lunch and beverage. So $360 paid for a ferry and we couldn't even sit in the restaurant overlooking the beach enjoying a coffee. Was advised I would get refunded a portion of the cost however as expected I have not received anything.

Crew

Great crew very friendly, took time to speak with everyone. We seen Whales on the way back and they stopped and circled so everyone could see.

Smile and a smooth trip to Great Keppel Island

Our captain and deckhands took us over with a smile on the Friday afternoon ferry. It was a smooth, quick trip to swimming, drinks and a meal in the beautiful winter sun on Great Keppel Island before we hopped on the 6.20pm ferry home to watch the lights of Yeppoon as we cruised into Keppel Bay Marina. A perfect afternoon.
