One day Tour Isla Tortuga with Lunch from Puntarenas

Viator is the worst travel agency. They just pretty much just book, collect money and that’s it. They don’t do anything for the customer, they will ask you to deal with the tour operator, they don’t tell you anything about policies. I will never recommend this company even to my worst enemy.

Super fun experience, relaxing day on the beach. Our tour guide was amazing and went above and beyond to help my husband and I woke out transportation, etc. thank you!!!!

Great trip

Needed a bit more water but overall great. Bring some money for the bathroom. Loved the overall experience.

DO NOT RECOMMEND! Safety: **gangway railing handhold rope not secure, when i used it, it gave way and i almost fell. **Gangway incredibly slippery and dangerous, my elderly sister in law did fall, and was lucky to escape injury. **boat not designed for snorkeling entry, my wife injured her back when trying to exit Amenities: Soda was supposed to be included, but was not. No drinks offered during 2+ hours we were on the boat, nor while ashore. Tea only provided at lunch. Good thing we brought our own water! Schedule: Arrived back much later than scheduled, almost missed our cruise ship all-aboard time.

Inside Tours Costa Rica offered a tour to Tortuga Island that promised a respite from the mundane, and I was eager, even if a little hesitant, as the van took us from the bustle of the city to the coast, a gateway to a secluded paradise. The van, mercifully air-conditioned, held a peculiar calm. Our guide was a maestro in his own right—leading us with a quiet assurance, his gaze steady, his every gesture filled with reverence for the land he called home. He was an alchemist, weaving together facts and folklore, an ambassador not just of Costa Rica, but of the natural world that we too often overlook. Each stop, each glance at the passing landscape, he filled with the allure of the unknown, a kind of gentle instruction on how to appreciate the things we often take for granted. When we arrived at Tortuga Island, the world felt a little brighter. The sand was warm beneath our feet, and the sea glittered invitingly, a vast expanse that promised something magical. Lunch, a simple offering of either chicken or a delicate fish fillet, tasted of the island’s offerings, its freshness a testament to Costa Rica’s respect for its resources. We enjoyed local coffee and afternoon biscuits and enjoyed the views bursting with a vividness that echoed the day’s beauty. The sea was like stepping into another world. I’d seen pictures, of course, but nothing prepares you for that first descent, the water cool and startling, and suddenly you’re surrounded by a universe teeming with color and life. As we ended the long's day's journey, I felt a quiet contentment, a feeling I would carry with me long after I left Costa Rica, as intangible and precious as the sea’s breeze.

Started off late but staff did certainly make up for it, great music/vibe on the boat, heaps of time snorkeling with some hands on experience, good lunch and entertainment on the boat, great trip 😊

Great time

Everything was great from the food and drinks to the beautiful weather. I fell asleep on the beach chair and didn’t want to get out the water.

Must be a Scam

Many bout tours out there, lesson learned by choosing the cheaper option. Only had one day in the area and booked this one to save a little. Bad decision. Showed up to address provided earlier than requested, could not find anything that looked like a boat tour. No signage anywhere. Spent over an hour driving around looking up and down nearby streets. Still no luck. Tried calling and messaging the number provided for this service with no answer or response. Waisted our only day available on this ‘company.’ Beyond frustrating and disappointing. Choose wisely and pick a higher priced tour with legitimate reviews. Never got to see the island as we had hoped.

I’d do it again!

It was a great time with great tourguides! Saw spider monkeys, had a great lunch, and snorkeled and saw cool tropical looking fish! The tourguides put on upbeat Latin music that had me feeling pumped up! I would definitely go again!

Best Tour EVERRRRR

This trip is spectacular! Steven was so great and knowledgable. He really took care of us. I love how small this trip is. It wasnt 10 hours at the beach, only 5 and it was great. The snorkeling part was so fun. Steven would swim all the way down to grab some starfish so we could see. It was so nice! We also saw spidermonkeys, dolphins, and humpback whales! There was another tour boat that was wayyyy too close to the whales and our guides swiftly reported that boat. They truly care about the wildlife and the ocean. They were so respectful to stay a good distance from the creatures and to turn their engines off as to not disturb them. Other tour boats clearly did not care about that. The island is full of other tour groups so it is a little busy with some trash. But the workers do their best to clean up after the tourists. And Joel…omg Chef Joel cooked the most amazing lunch ever. Just applause all around. This tour is definitely worth it.

Unforgettable Tortuga Island Tour

Our trip to Tortuga Island was an unforgettable experience, thanks to Joel and his fantastic crew. We were thrilled to see dolphins, a whale, spider monkeys, wild boars, and vibrant fish while snorkeling in the clear waters. The island itself was breathtakingly beautiful. To top it all off, Joel prepared a delicious lunch that added a perfect touch to our adventure. Highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Tortuga Island!

Sneaky good

Amazing value for the experience. This tour would cost 2 to 3 times more if it were in Cabo or the Caribbean. Highlight of the trip was viewing multiple humpback whales, dolphins and spider monkeys during the speedboat ride to the beach.

Nice island

The meeting spot is a bit hard to locate and there are no signs. Soda is not included as the listing indicates. And there was not enough fruit for everyone to have some. The water was pretty cloudy while we were there, so snorkeling wasn't the best. The beach has chairs for rent, bathrooms cost $1 to use, small beach bars, and a gift shop. The crew was very friendly and knowledgeable.

Not bad but not great

Trip was…interesting. Left 45 min after we had been advised to be there early “in order to obey the itinerary”. We signed up for a 4 hour trip and once on boat they told us it would be 6 hours. Snorkeling was okay~island was okay, nothing spectacular. Lunch they provided was good though! Saw one dolphin (know this was not the tour’s fault!). Most disappointing was the tour guide (adult male) was very interested in our 2 16 yr old girls & asked for their numbers and offered them alcoholic drinks.

Amazing Experience

This island tour was one of the highlights of our trip. The tour guides had great energy, were knowledgeable, and made the tour a great experience. The food was great with excellent fish and vegetables options and the fruit tray was delicious. The music in the boat was perfection. We say crocodiles, dolphins, spider monkeys, and swam with the fish during our snorkel session. Bring your water shoes as there are lots of small rocks on the beach. This tour was such a great experience for a great price. I would absolutely recommend this for tour to my friends and family.

Awesome day

Great day!! The guides were excellent! Lunch on the beach was delicious. Enjoyed our day on the boat, snorkeling, playing at the beach & bonus crocodile sighting!

Nice trip

Took five of us on the trip and enjoyed the speedboat ride and snorkeling. The crew was helpful and the lunch was typical, but very good. Everyone really liked the beach.

Fabulous Beach Day

Fabulous beach day. Joel and Diane and their team went above and beyond to make sure we had a good time and all our needs were met. Highly recommend this tour with this tour company. Speed boat took us to the island in 30 minutes. Good lunch.

Tortouga island

The tour out to the island was great. The staff were helpful and kind. The food was good and the snorkeling was great. We even saw dolphins on the boat ride out!

Wasn’t what I expected for boat by told from the viator agent. But I totally enjoyed everything the team was awesome and Joel made best meal I have tasted since in Costa Rica. Thank for the memories.

Excellent trip to Isla Tortuga

The boat ride over was interesting, we saw a crocodile and a family of dolphins along the way. The snorkeling was short, but we were able to see several colorful fish up close before spending time on the beach. The water is crystal clear and the drinks at the beach bar were delicious. The lunch cooked on site by the staff was delicious. All around, best time I’ve had in Costa Rica.

These guys are the BEST! Professional. Exceptional Client Service! Fun! They clearly LOVE their work. Costa Rica Inside Tours, are responsible for the AMAZING adventure we had yesterday at Isla Tortuga, Puntarenas! Not only is the Island beautiful with warm white sand beaches and clear turquoise water, the team expertly operate the speed boat, they are also responsible for the delicious breakfast and lunch we had under the palm trees. They played beautiful music, and even entertained us with their singing talents. All in all, an AWESOME way to spend the day in beautiful, Costa Rica! Gracias! Definitely not worth it.

The name of Tortuga Island is only because at some time some person thought to recognize a turtle shape of the island - not because one is likely to see turtles when snorkeling. It is sort of a big fake. The snorkeling was very short and awful because of bad sight. They want to have 5 more dollars only to walk the short nice trail on the island. The wonderful beach is being misused by hundreds of people every day. They have wild boars there to eat what people threw way or left over, basicly to clean up. The staff of the organizing company was nice and friendly and didn´t do anything wrong.

Loved the views while traveling to Isla Tortuga and I was very impressed with the knowledge of the tour guides. Once on the Island the chef Joel made an amazing meal. Joel was a very good host and was always engaging with the customers. I’ve enjoyed this trip so much we referred two friends who were in Costa Rica from Los Angeles CA.

Disappointed but the island was nice

Snorkeling was too short. They, I guess, didn’t expect “this many” people to snorkel and had to split the group into two, shortening the experience of the snorkeling excursion. The crew was fake nice. The captain was talking crap about the foreigners the entire time, calling people names. The food and coffee were great. The beach is was nice, the drinks on the beach also great and reasonably priced. All in all, a good day and experience but the tour itself was not the best. It was a disappointment that there was only one spot to snorkel and it was so short. I would do this excursion, just with another tour company….

Very good experience, the guys who attended us during the tour were too attentive and friendly. What they could do is improve the pier toilets.

Turtle Island in Puntarenas, Costa Rica

The tour was not luxurious but fun and the service team headed by Joseph was great. They took us to see a dolphin on the high seas, spider monkeys, a complete family that they fed with fruit, tapirs (in Costa Rica they are called pigs, but they are not the classic pigs), crabs, spider starfish, and up to 3 small crocodiles! Our daughters snorkeled and the elders enjoyed the cool, clean turquoise water and beautiful white sand. Since we arrived on the island they were very vigilant of the group, they offered us pineapple and watermelon before lunch and coffee with cookies after lunch. Super recommended!.

Excellent tour of the island of turtles!

We did the tour with them and it was a perfect Sunday! We found the viator agency and everyone was very attentive and our Guide Joseph very animated, Carlos the very careful driver, Derman and Steven guided us all the boat route, providing wonderful memories of dolphins and turtles! It was a fantastic experience! Thank you all!

NO CONTRATEN ESTE SERVICIO. Realice la siguiente queja y me dejaron en visto. La atencion al cliente pesima. Mala Comida. Mal manejo de crisis. ¨Me dirijo a ustedes para expresar mi insatisfacción en relación a la excursión que contraté con su empresa el pasado 2 de enero. Como habíamos acordado, yo envié un mensaje con antelación para solicitar la reserva de la excursión y me confirmaron la disponibilidad para dicha fecha. Realicé el depósito correspondiente y posteriormente recibí la notificación de que no había tour en esa fecha. A pesar de que los vientos estaban advertidos para ir a Isla Tortuga, confié en la responsabilidad de su empresa y acudí al lugar de encuentro para llevar a cabo la excursión. Sin embargo, nos encontramos en una situación de riesgo, ya que nuestras vidas estuvieron en peligro debido a los vientos en altamar. Además, había una persona embarazada en los primeros meses que no fue advertida sobre la situación. Otro inconveniente que se presentó fue en la parte del desayuno, en la que esperamos por más de 45 minutos para poder pedir el mismo. Asimismo, el domingo posterior a la excursión, debido a los problemas de salud que me ocasionaron el salto de la barca, tuve que acudir al médico y perdí 1 día laboral. En conclusión, considero que hubo varios aspectos que no fueron satisfactorios en la excursión, tales como el trato desde el inicio, la falta de advertencia sobre los vientos y la situación de riesgo en la que nos encontramos, la espera y el retraso de más de una hora, entre otros. Espero que tomen en cuenta mi reclamo y se tomen medidas para mejorar estos aspectos en el futuro.
