Excellent tour and top notch tour guide (Sachinn). Got to see the main tourist spots of the city and learned a lot about the history of both Pune and India from our guide.

Visit tour in Pune on 25th of April 2024

The tour with Sachinn Sugndhi. He shows me a lot of different places: temples, caves, market, museum, roads, old houses... He has a very good knowledge of each place and also gives comments about religion, rituals...He propose me to taste somme dishes and Indian tea. I easily recommend him for a visit in Pune

An informative and enlightening tour

Excellent tour by our very knowledgable guide Sachinn. Introduced us to the colorful history of Pune via temples and forts. Also to and through the very crowded markets which are do fascinating for people watching plus history. There was the opportunity to try different street food and I did cautiously both done food and a delicious all natural cooling drink. We successfully crossed busy streets which in itself was a major achievement. I strongly recommend this tour for those who are interested in the history of Pune and India and want to experience and get immersed into the craziness which I so enjoyed.

The tour that never happened!

I booked the tour on the Feb 12 2024. On March 1, I got this message:'Your booking, 1492390997 is paid and confirmed". The tour was for March 3rd at 9 am. At 9pm on March 2nd I got WhatsApp call saying the tour may not be possible but they were trying to find a guide. On March 3rd at 9:10, I got this WhatsApp message: "Thank you for booking with us to Pune Half day city tour We would like to inform you that our guides are not available today being Sunday we have multiple tours and booking came very late, if possible we can reschedule it to next date or allow us sometime we are looking for other guides schedule to see if we can accommodate this tour" He claimed booking was 'late' 12th Feb was not 'late'. He must have seen the Indian name and decided he could bump me in favor of some European! If you are Portuguese, then you may be out of luck too - D'Souza, DCosta,Fernandes are considered to be Indian names. So good luck with the tour if you happen to have booked it.

A Fun and Enjoyable Tour

Koustubh is a nice and knowledgable tour guide and an excellent photographer. The tour was fun. I see many amazing sights and get to know a bit of the city and its history. He also showed me the way how to enjoy the local snacks like locals. Highly recommend.

Best Real life tour of pune.

This was one of the most informative tours I have been on. He was great with the knowledge of the areas we visited. Gave lots of details to each temple and site we visited. He took us to try local dishes and the local market. He helped to negotiate the prices that was already marked up where we wouldn't have done it. The food tours and tea was the highlight for me . We learned about the culture and the Indian people are so nice . I would recommend this tour to everyone if you visit pune. He keep us very attentive to his conversation we were never bored or was ready to go. He was on time waiting on us to go few minutes before time. It was not a exact time to be done he went over and didn't complain we keep him longer than expected. I will recommend to my colleagues that will visit in the future.

Fascinating insight into historical places and spiritual life of Pune .

We were led on our tour by Sanchin who was an excellent guide. Very warm and friendly person who was very well informed . The places he took us to were fascinating and gave us a great insight into the history and culture of Pune. we cannot speak highly enough of Sanchinn and also our driver . We stopped midway for snacks and drinks and Sanchinn ensured we ate at good places. Sanchinn was also very flexible and was able to alter the tour to fit in with our time schedule as the tour took much longer than 4 hrs. We highly recommend this tour

Fun little tour of Pune.

Did the private car Pune City tour with tour guide Sachin. It was a wonderful experience. Sachin took me through the winding market streets of Pune and all the major monuments. Had an absolutely delicious snack of gajjar halwa at busy roadside vendor. All in all a fabulous tour- highly recommend it.

Half day guided trip to Sinhagad

I took a half day guided trip to Sinhagad from Pune. My guide was Sachinn. He was brilliant in striking conversation and telling me everything about Sinhagad. We also had some nice food up there. I highly recommend a trip with Sachinn. He will be a great guide and and a friend! - Madhu

Interesting and memorable experience

I thoroughly enjoyed this experience. The area around the fort is very scenic. My guide Sachinn shared a lot of interesting information and was a good conversationalist. We had a delicious snack of local food. A memorable day!

Easy day tour of Pune

This tour was really great! I had one day to spare in Pune and this was the perfect option. I booked late the afternoon before and received confirmation instantly and WhatsApp message from the tour guide within a few hours. Cab picked me up from my hotel and took me to Aga Khan Palace where I met my guide Sachinn. Sachinn was wonderful and explained all the history of the sites and shared local knowledge of Pune. When entering the temples he explained the religious etiquettes and gave background on the various gods whose shrines we saw. The tour of the old market was also really awesome, so much to see and so many vibrant colours. Sachinn made sure I was safe at all times and helped navigate me through the busy traffic! As a solo female traveller I felt completely at ease at all times. We also tried some street food which was delicious - a must try! If you’re looking for a short taste of Pune, I would definitely recommend this tour.

Best of Pune

It's a must if you are in Pune. I think the best part is the market with it's vivid colors. My guide Sachinn has a knowledge of everything. He knows the answere for all your questions.

Crash course in history, architecture, civics. Highly recommend.

After spending five days in Pune for a wedding, I had some free time before my flight out and made a last minute decision to book a tour. I cannot say enough about how impactful this tour was. Sachinn was an incredible tour guide; it was like having a personal social studies, humanities, and history lesson for four hours for which I am beyond grateful. Pune is a city with so much history but I did not feel overwhelmed in the slightest. The tour agenda followed a nice flow with a continuous narrative. Although it was only four hours, I felt it was a perfect crash course in the city’s history from the Mughals, Shivaji and the Maratha Empire, British Rule, Ghandi, to today’s academic “Oxford of the East” repute. It was an extra bonus to discuss philosophy and how a frenetic Westerner like myself can apply age old meditative practices to live a more purposeful life. I am highly grateful to Team Yo and Sanchinn for this experience. Logistics Tour guide was prompt and the cab was efficient. Don’t forget to bring water as there is quite a bit of walking and it will likely be warm depending on the season. Be prepared to remove your shoes when entering sacred temples. Although lunch is not provided, delicious street food is part of the tour and will likely fill you up.

Immersive dive into Punes culture

Well worth the time. I‘ve see cultural, historical and religious locations and tasted the superb cuisine. I also get to know the spirituality of India with its beautiful temples and the history behind it. The market was also fascinating. A very pleasant and enjoyable experience.

A TOUR TO THE PICTURESQUE MOUNTAINOUS REGION OF TUNGI IN MAHARASHTRA

This September, 2023 we ventured for a family tour to the picturesque landscape of the mountainous region of Tungi in Maharashtra! We threesome i.e., me, mom and dad enjoyed a train ride in the Goa Express Train in an AC Three Tier Coach and our first halt was supposed to be Pune! The same evening it was raining heavily but, the view visible outside the train window was mesmerizing indeed as the train traversed amidst dense forest lands! ! The evening when we were cheerfully chatting we munched some peanuts and sipped hot Nescafe! Dinner was light and we went off to sleep in our berths by 7:30PM as we were told we would land in Pune early morning at 4:30PM! We were provided with clean bed covers, white blankets and fluffy pillows at night to sleep peacefully! Now early morning when we reached Pune railway station my younger sibling Prateek came by cab to receive us and to carry our luggage as well. We had decided to stay with Prateek in his apartment for the first two days of our journey! Hurray! Our family would be happy to be together after a long span of busy work schedule this time! With this we were overjoyed!! Early morning at 10AM on the same day we entered a small shop where we had cool tender Coconut water! Next, Mum shopped for some Spectacle frames at a Lenskart store! We visited The “Phoenix Mall Of The Millenium” in Pune! This is a newly built property where people rush to Shop and have a great time! We hopped from one store to another window shopping but, I didn’t decide to buy anything in particular since, this noon we had some of our friends from Mangalore who would be there with us at the mall for lunch! ! So, our idea was to be with our friends at this uptown Restaurant in the mall known for its North Indian Fare! We decided to indulge in a rich vegetarian fare along with our friends! Our lunch included starters like “Potato & Cheese Fritters”, “Paneer Tikka rolls” and for the main course we ordered “Tandoori Rotis”, “Paalak Paneer Gravy”, “Paneer Malai Tikka Butter Masala ” and ice cold Sweet Lime Sodas which we relished heartily! Paneer is the Indian Version of Cottage cheese and the fabulous taste of Paneer preparation always tingles our taste buds! Our friends were eager to indulge in the North Indian preparation at the hotel and mentioned that they truly enjoyed the lunch with us! We were happy indeed to host them! This evening was spent at the fabulous “Amul Ice-cream Corner” at the same Mall where I took pleasure in having a “Butter Pecan Ice Cream Waffle Cone” and my friend savored a Rich Chocolate Ice Cream! Then, we left the mall, bade goodbye to our pals and headed towards our apartment to relax for the night! The next day we journeyed on a long route towards the “Tungi” region of Maharashtra where The Club Mahindra Tungi Resort was nestled in the lap of thick forests and a mountainous region in Lonavala! The famous Tungi Fort in Maharashtra is known as the “Great Wall of Maharashtra” as there are serpentine walls leading to the Fort! The check-in formalities at the Tungi Resort was completed by 12PM and we were served the welcome drink made out of pulpy Orange! We sipped the drink seated on a couch next to large glass panes and spotted the vast green expanse!! The lounge next to the reception area had beautiful wooden flooring and even decorated with Gorgeous Indian Chrysanthemum flowers called “Sevanti” in a huge glass vase on a table! Next, we headed to “The Ripples” restaurant and we enjoyed Vegetarian Chinese Manchurian, Vegetable Manchow Soup, Vegetable Friedrice, Mixed Hakka Noodles and Paneer chilly gravy that was worth eating! Post lunch we all decided to relax in our room which included two master bedrooms, a dining area with kitchenette, a washroom and a wardrobe! When we relaxed we listened to some divine music while switching on the television! After a sound nap we woke up and ventured in to the green garden area all around the resort holding umbrellas as it was raining heavily! However, we did not miss the opportunity to capture some pictures on our camera when we had a brisk walk in the thick green wilderness! ! As we kept walking we watched the Tungi Fort Area on a giant mountain covered with green trees and shrubs! The mountain was covered with fog however, we could capture some stunning pictures of this area and it certainly seemed very rejuvenating to watch this attractive spot! The much anticipated forest bathing activity over here soothed our worn out nerves! Mom and me seemed very happy with the pics! Next, we spent some groovy time at The Happy Hub an area where we could play games such as Chess, Carrom, Ludo or Snake & Ladder and this evening we even attended a Napkin Folding Session which was cool! I videoed this Napkin Folding session presented by a staff at The Happy Hub when he folded the napkins so that it would appear like a Heart and also a doll! Next we began with a game of Snake & Ladder and a little while later we played a game of Chess, Carrom and Table Tennis! Mum and Dad love to play Carrom & Table Tennis! Whereas myself I would love to play a game of Chess at anytime! Table Tennis too seems to be an energetic game for me when I am accompanied with mom in this game! At night we ordered dinner in our room from Gourmet Express an in room Dining facility. We had Tandoori Rotis and Chicken Mughlai as we were so hungry! Then we watched a Hindi movie together on Prateek’s Tablet PC and we were pretty jubilant to watch the acting and Movie scenes being picturized! We slept until 10AM in the morning! Once, we woke up we decided to spent the time around the resort itself and then, at the Happy hub! At the Happy Hub there was a magic show being presented by a gentleman and it was quite exciting! There were few games played together with other guests and families over there! We clicked some more snaps near the swimming pool area! Then until sometime we blissfully enjoyed a buggy ride around the property! The same evening at “The Ripples” there was a lavish array of food items for buffet for Guests and items specifically for the festive season of Ganesh Chaturthi such as delish desserts were laid out at the buffet counter! Plenty of guests were pleased with the buffet but we preferred to dine at “The Amara” to taste the flavor of exotic Pan Asian cuisine! Then, late evening we went to The Amara restaurant where we were first told about the menu items by Ms. Sumi and Mr. Brij who were the waiters! I ordered two pitchers of Pina Coloda a Mocktail without much alcohol made out of fresh Coconut milk and Pineapple!! I even ordered dishes from the Menu like Pixian Gong Bao Chicken which was wok tossed chicken with pixian chilly, nuts, Sichuan Pepper and Dry Red chilly! A Vietnamese Prawn dish in Fresh Mint Chilly which included wok tossed prawns with a sharp herb flavor of mint and chilly was ordered by me! Then, we even included Kai Yang a dish made with freshly ground spices and herbs infused with chicken, grilled and served with “Nam Jim Jeaw” - a Thai Chilly Dipping sauce! It was an occasion to celebrate both, Prateek’s and Mom’s birthday this month! When the Executive Sous Chef Mr. Anwar Khan heard that I write travel diaries and that we were at the resort to celebrate this grand occasion tonight he approached us and mentioned he would bring to us special Items off the menu list which to be certain would perk up our spirits! This as he said Included “Raw Mango Salad”, a soup “Burmese Khao Suey” made out of Lemon Grass, Vegetable Stock, Turmeric and Coconut Milk and an “Edamime Truffle Dimsum” made of steamed Chicken! We clicked some more interesting pictures at the hotel which was built with wooden flooring and had mellow lighting facility! There were other guests too at The Amara enjoying their time! Wow! When the dinner arrived on our table we were pretty fascinated to devour these lovely dishes and when the complimentary dessert came our way unexpected we enjoyed a “Cranberry Cheesecake”, “Walnut Chocolate Brownie” & a “White Chocolate Blondie”! Our Chef called out all of his team members i.e, Mr. Mukesh Singh, Mr. Raghavendra Pisse, Mr. Abhishek Sharma, Mr. Sunil Tanti and Mr. Raj Arora who posed along with us for a memorable photograph! Mr. Anwar said he works together with his team which is very skillful and fascinated with culinary pursuits! The dinner tonight was delicious and the occasion too was marvelous! Now post a heavy dinner we were all off to doze in our cozy beds! However, Prateek watched the TV late until midnight! Early morning next day all of us woke up at 10AM! This morning we again entered a buggy with our luggage towards the reception area to checkout and the driver Mr. Datta Pattare a gentle person, even wished us a warm and a happy journey! After a blissful stay at the resort Prateek had to drive all of us back to Pune and he had to be mindful on the curve of the roads! On reaching Pune, we decided to halt at The “Phoenix Mall of the Millenium” once again to shop for merchandise! I visited a few of the stores at the mall and even bought stylish Denim wear that I felt it made up for a classic attire to don on any occasion! Mom and Prateek too were overjoyed to shop at the mall! Our next stop was at a well-liked hotel named “Apache The Fluid Lounge” where we had appetizers like “Buffalo Chicken Wings”,“Crispy Chicken Slices”, “Sriracha Chicken”,“Chilly Chicken” and even “Chicken Tikka Biryani!.” Prateek said most college going folk and tourists flock to this joint to have their Flavorsome chicken items! We also had a wonderful afternoon together! For dinner we enjoyed Chicken Burgers stuffed with Chicken Fillet slices, lettuce and Mayonnaise at the Burger King Stall! All of us had a sound sleep that night and early morning we caught a cab to the nearest Railway station to board the Goa Express Train back home to Goa! The train ride back home was enjoyable I will be eager to venture into another pristine property of the Club Mahindra Resorts the next time with my family! I know unquestionably the next time too our trip to another Club Mahindra Resort will show the potential as when we take vacations we would love to visit as many places as we can!

Short and sweet Pune experience

This was very good short cultural and historical tour of Pune. Sachin (our tour guide) did good job in taking us through the major places and also some local/old city marketplace areas in Pune. He explained the context and background for all the places.

Amazing tour showing you the highlights of Pune

I booked the tour the evening before and everything was arranged. Only downside, I booked the premium SUV tour but the tour was with a normal taxi. Next time I would ensure with the organizers that I booked the premium tour. Nevertheless, my tour guide Sachinn was very knowledgeable and I had a great day exploring Pune.

American solo trip

Had an amazing experience with my guide koustubh. He was very friendly, educated, welcoming and made sure I felt safe and hydrated at all times. Highly recommend this for anyone who wants a taste of the history within Pune

An excellent and educational experience

Sachinn, was phenomenal! It was a great experience! He took the time to share his knowledge with me. I am a big history guy and this tour was well served. I would ask him to repeat things and repeated it back to him to ensure I had the correct information. He was patient with me and very responsive to my needs. Book this tour and ask for Sachinn by name…you won’t be disappointed!

Did they include all of the uninteresting temples of Pune?

The guide was polite, but he did not take charge of the tour and started talking in Marathi even though he knew that our group had people who could not understand that language. His knowledge was also limited. For example, he got the order wrong of deaths of Kasturba and Madhav Desai at Aga Khan Palace. Photos taken by him of our group were poor. He seemed to be on a personal mission of visiting the various temples that were on the itinerary. A boring tour, overall.

A tour with unforgettable impressions

This was really a great tour and a unique experience. Although I had booked the tour only the night before at 10 pm, so about 12 hours before the start, everything worked smoothly. The tour guide also catered to individual requests and we simply customized the tour to my liking. Unforgettable was the walk through the small, winding streets and alleys. Simply unforgettable - thank you very much.

Pune Tour Experience

This tour was a lot of fun and the tour guide was awesome!!! The tour guide took me to some of the most popular sites around Pune and explained a lot of history. We had great conversations and I learned so much! I also got the chance to try local street food and chai tea which were both amazing. I highly recommend this tour! You would not be disappointed!

Crooks

These folks are crooks. I had a confirmed reservation which was charged in advance. They communicated on Whatsapp, which I don't normally use and set the chats to delete after 24 hours. They cancelled my trip but did not offer a refund, but instead offered a different date. I had other plans that day and could not modify my schedule. I requested a refund from the Viator app and was declined. Since they did not use the Viator app or my email to communicate that they cancelled, I assume they lied to Viator. I now need to dispute with my credit card. Such a hassle. I will spend more time getting a refund than the time of the tour.

Great tour!

Sachin (apologies if I misspelled his name) was very informative. He has a calm demeanor which made the trip pleasurable. Having previously visited Shaniwar Wada we asked if we could use the time instead to extend our time at Tulsi Baug and he kindly and patiently obliged (even helping me by carrying one of my larger purchases). Extra credit to the driver that was used on the trip (you may want to use him again in the future)

Very poor experience

Do not book! They cancelled on original day stating medical emergency and then we rebooked for another day and they said car was on the way and then an hour after tour was supposed to start said they didn’t book a driver as we had “ poor communication”. They wreaked two days of our 4 day vacation waiting for them and we didn’t get to see anything and trying to get refund but unsuccessful so far. Please DO NOT BOOK.

Unique experience

Our guide tour, Sachin, has been a great host. He is extremely knowledgeable and happy to share and discuss all our questions. We ve explored all attractions, in a safe and relaxing 4.5h trip. I highly recommend for anyone excited to explore Pune!

Disappointing and frustrating experience.

Tour was refunded, me losing half a day was not. They need to show me how they will prevent the situation from happening again, before I will consider their company's services again. Website said that there was availability. Paid and booked 2 days before trip, got confirmation. Was contacted night before, asking to shift the tour from 9am to 12pm. I confirmed. No contact after that. Received a call at 12.20pm, saying that they can't do the tour today but can on Monday. Monday didn't work for me, they apologized and refunded for the tour.

Great city tour with a very pleasant tour guide

We were a group of 3 people with and without "India experience". We booked the city tour to see some of the sights of Pune. Our expectations were fully met. Our companion Sachin was the perfect guide. He gave us the historical background of each destination very well. We also appreciated the exchange with him on a wide range of topics. Sachin is a very pleasant and well-read conversationalist. He also introduced us to the street food of Pune, which we enjoyed very much. All in all, we spent a very nice and informative afternoon. We can 100% recommend the tour with Sachin.

Can't tell you about the experience...

Can't give the Yo Tour a rating as they messaged me 15 minutes after the scheduled pickup time to say they couldn't find a tour guide. Which was almost understandable as I booked the tour the previous day, but assumed that when my reservation was confirmed that meant everything was good. But you know what they say happens when you ass-u-me. So my complaint is more that should have informed me early enough to make a different plan. And, call me directly. Don't just passively message me via WhatsApp.

4-hour tour of Puna

It was very good. They called for me at FLAME. I was the only person on the tour, and I got excellent treatment. The guide was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions.

Disappointed tourist

I picked the most expensive tour+guide+car tour I could find in order to get the best, however, the reality was poor. The guide came alone and called a cab. The cab was "ok" but not as should have been for the price I paid: small, a bit too worm... The "half day tour" ended up as a 3-hour tour. The guide is a very nice person, but if wasn't asked, preferred not to talk much. Some guides "have it" some just don't. This one should pick a different occupation. Sorry!

Insightful tour of Pune

The places visited are on the Yo Tours site but needless to say we visited the very old (Pataleshwar Cave Temple, built 800AD), and the more recent (the exquisite Aga Khan Palace). Sure, you can visit these places under your own steam, but with the guided tour, there were a few treats thrown in that would be hard to find otherwise, and the guide, Tejas, gave insightful background to what we were viewing as well as insights into modern life in Pune. Wear good walking shoes (which will need to be removed before entering temples), plenty of water, and enjoy!!

Best Tour

The history and stories of Pune were explained to us in a very careful and sincere manner, which led to a deep understanding and satisfaction. The length of the tour was just right, so even those who are unfamiliar with India could participate with ease. The itinerary included a visit to a traditional temple, but we recommend wearing sandals that do not require socks, as you will be entering barefoot.
