Great time had

Absolutely worth doing if you are in the area. Our group of 4 adults had a blast. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. We got to snorkel and swim and see some beautiful fishes. Lunch was served on the boat and was plenty even for my picky eater husband. Plenty of water, juice and soft drinks available while snorkeling but after lunch the adult beverages were plenty also. After lunch we sailed back to puerto plata totally relaxed and tired. We saw dolphins in the most amazing clear blue ocean ever. Dancing, laughing and music was abundant. Would definitely do again. Even the none swimmer in our group enjoyed the trip.

Fun fun fun

Wonderful experience with a really fun crew! First time out on a boat and snorkeling, they made me feel safe and relaxed. Really happy I didn’t miss out on this one!

Fun Day At Sea

We had such a great time! The crew was super friendly and fun. Made sure we were safe and having a great time the whole trip. The snorkeling was super cool at both reefs. The boat was super nice and had space for everyone. The food was delicious and the drinks were an added plus. For sure recommend this trip!

The crew was amazing and friendly. Rafy and Papo kept the vibes going. Sonia was a great bartender as well. Great experience.

Best Catamaran Trip

Entire staff was great from the time Popo picked us up in port at Amber Cove until the dropped us off at the ship. They interacted with the guest the whole trip. Not a dull moment on the boat. The snorkeling was good. The food was good and so was the drinks. We have been on several of these catamaran excursions and this has been our best one. I highly recommend this trip.

Good time

Great experience. The whole crew was very nice and accommodating. The weather wasn’t great which wasn’t anyone’s fault but the crew makes sure we still had fun. Food was good and plentiful.

Great family activity!

Crew was awesome, 2 great snorkel dives, sailing back to ship was awesome!! The lunch on the boat was good and obviously the bar open always help to pass a good time!

Really fun time with a great crew

Gotta say the highlight was the crew. Great personalities who were fun and very helpful. This absolutely exceeded my expectations. Saw a lot of fish when snorkeling and had a great time on the ride back to port. The rum punch flowed like water. Would 100% do it again.

Worth it

Best excursion of all our destinations, staff is personal able and exceptionally hospitalitable taking extra care of ALL on board. Foos, music, and drinks make the experience A+

Tip top catamaran

The bus ride was to long to get there! The snorkeling was fantastic. The food was OK. The service was great. The boat ride back to Port was just to long (3 hrs). I would have preferred some music in English.

The entire thing the crew was awesome the experience was great. We all had and such a great party with all the other families. Good food reall food not just sandwiches..

Catamaran shore excursion with lunch

Pappo, Rafael, Sonia just fabulous crew!! Very professional, friendly and helpful.. my sister felt seasick in the water snorkeling, and were very carrying! Lovely catamaran…one of the nicest I’ve been on!! Could not have asked for a better day!! Lunch was very good too!!

Amazing time

The only bad thing I got from this experience was sunburn. The staff was amazing ,entertaining and beyond hepful and entertaining. Tne rum punch was amazing and Make sure ya keep applying sunscreen because the sun hit way different down here.

Excellent experience. Music. Food, drink under sun. Snorkeling in 2 reef, beautiful, you can do it with Family, friends or colleagues!

Memorable Top Notch Excursion

Been on vacation here a week and have experienced every single excursion there is here in the DR….but this by far was the top. From the catamaran to the food and beverages.. The crew, entertainment and paparazzi was top notch a FIVE STAR excursion. Made our vacation one of the most memorable moments of our lives.

Overall good experience

Myself and 3 friends did the Tip Top catamaran yesterday. Overall it was a nice experience! The boat was nice, food was really good (cold meats, the best rice ever, coleslaw, tuna pasta, chicken nuggets, bread), music was good, the staff were great! The bus ride was about 30 minutes from the last pick up to Sosua beach. Once arrived, we had about 5 groups of people that loaded into a small boat to be taken to the catamaran. This took a fair amount of time but it wasn’t horrible. The first snorkel spot was maybe a 5 minute boat ride. Lots of fish and coral. The next spot was about a 1 minute boat ride. Same fish, some coral here as well. The snorkelling wasn’t fascinating but it was a nice way to spend some time in the water. After snorkelling was done, they opened the bar and we started cruising. They started lunch shortly after. We cruised for about 2 hours. The staff offered some fun entertainment near the end of the ride. Was it the best catamaran experience I’ve had? No. But was it worth it? Sure. We also had a cloudy day and some rain but I still enjoyed myself.

Fun, but way overcrowded!

This was a good snorkeling trip, fun, good food, plenty of booze, and a fun and helpful crew, but the boat was way overcrowded – the description of the tour says 30 people and I counted at least 62 people on the trip that I went on. We were on one of the first boats taking people from the meeting point to the catamaran, so got a seat at one of the tables, but many people did not have seats or were forced to stay in the sun the whole time. if there had actually been no more than 30 people on this tour, I would have rated it a 5.

Great Day!

Safety, enthusiasm, cleanliness and pure fun! Lunch was better than expected, thoroughly enjoyed the sailing trip after snorkeling where there were lots of fish. Easy on and off the boat, good equipment and attentive staff. Highly recommend!

Worst operator for live aboard

While this is not Tip Top II (Galapagos) this is the same owner/operator. Tip Top II is currently unable to accept reviews, so this is my only recourse. Do Not Book with this operator!!! They basically stole my 20k and did not provide the trip. Long story, but worth the read. I purchased this trip for my father and I as a bucket list trip for him. We were so excited to go, had our bags packed, vaccines up to date, the works. We got notification the week of our departure that the trip was cancelled due to COVID. This was obviously not in my control. No refund was offered. When I pushed to have my fully paid for trip refunded, I was told I had to rebook or lose 70% of the trip. What? Really? Now here is the issue. Unwilling to lose 70% of my trip, we tried rebooking. COVID went on much longer than the world expected and still no refund was offered. Both my dad and I are pharmacists and actually own our own independent pharmacy. It took over a year to plan and organize our original trip and have licensed professionals to be able to cover our pharmacy for the time we would be away. (This was no small feat.) As you may or may not know, pharmacies administered about 70% of COVID vaccines. I live in a community of approximately 3,500, but administered approximately 25k vaccines. We were the first in our state to have the vaccine and people traveled from all over the state to us. You can fact check it, we were recognized by NYS with an Empire Award and a visit from our Governor. Not bragging, just setting the stage that we truly are our communities health care hub. Fast forward. A lot, I mean A LOT has changed. COVID has made it nearly impossible for me to hire pharmacists to be able to reschedule this trip. It took a year the first time. This operator has now decided that too much time has passed, and will still not refund the trip. They also will not let me reschedule for a date that I get to choose. Now mind you, I paid for an upper room with a balcony and the add ons I could as this was a one in a lifetime experience for my dad and I. As an essential healthcare worker, I am so disappointed and dismayed. For the past 3 years I have worked 7 days a week to help my community. The booking company and this operator are well aware of my situation, and sadly do not care. So now, I am out 20K for the trip of a lifetime that never happened. Buyer beware. I am heartbroken, saddened and disappointed that this is how this is being handled.

Way overbooked

1hr bus ride to Sousa, 1st stop snorkel the water about 20ft deep, the 'coral reef' was 15 wide and rpft long, quite a few fish. Second snorkel stop water 65ft, never saw a reef. The boat was ok, but was way over booked, your website says max 30, 78 passengers were on boat! Was this excursion missrepresented by Viator or tour operator? in either case something needs to be be done.

Fun day trip!

My daughter and I went on a full day excursion snorkeling with Tip Top Catamaran and had a fabulous time! Ailan was a great host, all of the staff were friendly and attentive. The lunch was decent "picnic" fare, the snorkeling was beautiful and the staff helpful to snorkeling newbies! Highly recommended if you want a day trip.

More of a sailing cruise than snorkeling

The staff was top notch. Super accommodating, very friendly, entertaining and professional. Be aware you do start out with a small boat to board the catamaran for safety in active waves. You snorkel with other groups and in my experience it did seem rather crowded on our boat. By the time we got out there as the 4th shuttle boat some were disappointed the nets were taken. You do the 2 snorkel sites right away then a 3 hour sailing trip w/ free drinks after that. It was very rough seas. Do not recommend if you are sensitive or first time. We had to have a few shuttled off from sickness at first. But Alex and Staff took very good care of them during and arranged safe transportation all the way to their hotel. Very entertaining dancing and lunch was surprisingly abundant and delicious!

Snorkeling in the DR

What a great day in Amber Cove, snorkeling in three different areas and saw fish and sea turtles. The crew was great and entertaining, food was excellent as well as the drinks. At one point in the beginning a passenger dropped her phone into the water and a crew member dove in and recovered it now that is service! Recommended if you are in Puerto Plata.

Fun on the Water

The water was A+ and love the tour guide! He was from Fort Lauderdale too and very friendly and accommodating!

Excellent Snorkling!

Wonderful experience on the Tip Top excursion! Our guide went out of his way to allow us to see an underwater statue as we snorkeled back to the group. It was an amazing experience, and we highly recommend! Thank you for being so kind and gracious!

This was one of the best excursions ever! The staff was amazing and the people aboard were lots of fun. This was my first time snorkeling and the staff took time to teach me and make sure I was ok. The views were beautiful and the drinks and lunch were awesome!!! Great job! Fun, fun, fun!!!!

This cruise was amazing!! The crew was an absolute blast! Very helpful, very entertaining, and super organized. Food and drinks were awesome too! We would do this again, and again! Tip Top is the BEST

I cannot say enough good things about Alain and his crew! Everything was beyond amazing until my husband got sick. Immediately Alain brought a boat to pick us up and get us to shore! The crew that took us back had so much kindness and empathy! The excursion would have been our favorite, but because of the way we were treated, Tip Top has become our favorite❤️❤️ Huge thanks to everyone who helped us!

Cannot recommend

Supposed to be a 6 hour excursion with a 30 minute drive to and from ship terminal. It took over 1.5 hours to get to the beach and then multiple speedboat trips to the catamaran to get us all on board. Was told it was a 60 person vessel and there were over 70 of us plus staff. Very little snorkeling occurred…a total of maybe 30-45 minutes. They did take us back via the catamaran which was beautiful, but running over an hour late. When I asked when we would get back, at the behest of another traveler, Alain tried to tell me that the ships time was an hour ahead of there’s, thus we had an hour more than I thought. Not true. We had turned our phones back, so we actually got back with about 40 minutes before we were due to leave. I have been on catamaran excursions before and loved it. This, I did not enjoy….nor did quite a few of the others who were on this excursion. There were some who did enjoy it…there was a bar. Not sure what happened since they have such good reviews?? Also, they had to blow up the dingy on board and it has patches in multiple places.

Awesome time!

Awesome time was had by all 4 of us! The snorkle stops were really cool and we saw a ton of fish. The staff were extremely friendly and fun!!! Would highly recommend this as an excursion. Bus ride there from our resort (Senator) was about an hour. Bit of a wait for the small boat to transport everyone from the beach out to the catamaran but nothing crazy and was a bit to be expected. Was nice that we sailed to a marina and got off the boat at Ocean world. Fun times had by all!!! Highly recommend.

A Nice, Relaxing Day on the Water!

Our TipTop catamaran tour was on 12-31-22. It rained a little during the first 30 minutes so I was glad I had my jacket, but it quickly cleared and the rest of the day was sunny and warm. The catamaran was full, but not too crowded. People were good about moving about and switching spots - from the shaded tables to the front nets, to the side hulls. Our crew: Alain, Alex, and Sonia (I think), were all very nice and accommodating. I really enjoyed our first snorkeling stop at Three Rocks and feeding the beautiful fish. Our second stop near Sasua Beach was not as good but the water was surprisingly warm at both sites. Other than seeing our resort and Sasua Beach from the water, there wasn’t a lot to look at. So, we were just cruising along, enjoying the food, drinks, and music. The buffet lunch was great with chicken nuggets, cold cuts, coleslaw, large shell macaroni salad, cucumber salad, and bread. The bar was always open and the drinks were good (cocktails, beer, soda). It was fun! The only thing that I hadn’t realized, was that our tour was not going to end at Sasua Beach where we started. Instead, we landed at Ocean World Marina and had a 50 minute taxi ride back to Sasua. It was fine, but not expected. We DID have a good day on the water and I would recommend TipTop for a fun catamaran outing!

Wow

It was a great activity and the crew was really nice! We enjoyed the two snorkeling spots for around 10 minutes each. The food was also very good.

Alain, Alex, and Papa Made this outing exceptional! They were extremely personable. They were extremely knowledgeable of their vessel and the location. They interacted and were able to make sure that everyone on the vessel had the best day ever.

Not as advertised!

We took our adult children for a brunch cruise and snorkeling, no drinks were available until snorkeling was over, it ended up being a one way cruise to Puerto Plata and a 2 hour bus ride back to the hotel. Great time, but not as advertised.

Great crew

This is our second time saling with tip top. It gets better each time. Andrew, Alex, Sonia just to name a few are all fantastic and what makes this trip most memorable. If we are in this area again, we will most definitely be using Tip Top again. Thanks guys for a great time as usual. And thanks Alex ,Andrew for getting my wetsuit back to me.

Fun charter on the open seas

Wow! What an awesome time myself and 22 other lifelong friends were able to have on a private charter. Alain, Alex & crew were able to show us such an outstanding time! Everything from pick up to drop off was seamless. The two snorkel spots we stopped at were great experiences where we were able to feed the fish and swim around a reef. Lunch was great and the crew kept the drinks flowing especially once we set sail! Very highly recommend!!

We booked the catamaran for our wedding “reception”. We had a little hiccup in the beginning with booking that was just a little miscommunication that was just as much my fault! After booking communication was fantastic! I was given contact information for a coordinator and the manager and was able to reach out to do any final organizing. Right from meeting Papo in the lobby to the final see you laters the team was AMAZING! We felt so welcomed and taken care of. I’m usually a very nervous snorkeler but I’ve never felt more comfortable. They had two team members in the water with us when we went in Alex took us on a great swim tour of the reef and there was someone else that stayed back around the boat if anyone needed help getting back and forth to the boat. The lunch was so yummy so many in our group said it was the best lunch they have had on the trip. Everyone in our group had a blast. Even when people got a little sea sick the team was right there to help them feel better. Everyone was so kind and funny. The two snorkeling spots, we saw a ton of sea life. Relaxing on the nets once we started to sail was the most relaxing. We even saw a pod of dolphins! If you are planning on booking an excursion while in PoP you NEED to book a trip with these guys! Highlight of our trip & wedding experience here in Dominican. You will not be disappointed and you will make some great memories. I can’t wait to come back to go for another sail with the Tip top team!

Great way to spend an afternoon.

Had 40 people with us including adults, kids and teens. The boat was in very good shape and we’ll maintained. Alain and the crew were amazing. Especially with the kids snorkeling. Food was good too!

BEST EXCURSION EVER

This trip was amazing. Alain explained everything in 3 different languages and was very descriptive and helpful for first time snorklers. Alex was a lot of fun and did a great job at pumping up the crowd. We were dancing, singing, and drinking! Not only did they feed us a warm lunch, but they also brought food for us to feed the fish. Although the weather was a bit cloudy, we got lots of sun and warmth and even saw a dolphin! If you book only one excursion, I suggest you do this one.
