Good time in the City

It was a great, multi-faceted trip. The cable car up and back and the park were more than we expected. We continued with the city tour and drove and walked around...great fun. We all enjoyed it.

DO NOT BOOK!!! Horrible tour guide. Fabian would drop us off and ditch us. He would stay in the car and leave us with no direction o guidance.

Awesome experience

Our driver and tour guide Fabio was awesome!!! He went above and beyond and even waited for us after our cruise got delayed. He made a special stop where we ate the best mangos ever!!! Would definitely recommend 👌🏽

Great tour guide. Had cold water and snacks for us upon pick up. Waited for us even though our cruise was a few hours late. Even stopped for us to purchase souvenirs and eat before returning to our cruise. And picked fresh mangoes off the tree!

Highlights of Puerto Plata

This half day tour with Fabio was excellent. Fabio shared a wealth of information about the history and culture of Puerto Plata and the Dominican Republic. Loved Umbrella St, Central Park, Pink Street, the Macorix House of Rum and the beach. Could not see Isabel Torres with cog train since it’s being renovated; however, he took us to another look out of the city.

Best site tour in Dominican Republic

Guy name Nathan was our guide. He was very professional, knowledgeable and courteous. He made sure we did not get ripped off from the locals. He explained every place he took us in very detail. Enjoyed the site seeing.

A day in Puerto Plata

Beautiful views from the mountain top. Augustin was an awesome and fun guide. Enjoyed the entire trip and highly recommend it.

Island’s Jewels

Fabulous! Our guide Fabio was the best. Friendly, caring and knowledgeable. My favorite and one of the reasons of my visit was the cable car ride to the Cristo Redentor statue on top of Monte Isabel. Just magnificent. We enjoyed each of the stops and the chocolate tasting was just the cherry on the top! Can not wait to go back to POP !

Excellent Puerto Plata City Tour & Cable Car

It was 9 of us (siblings) on this tour. Fabio, the tour&driver guide was excellent. We experienced cable car, walked through Botanical garden with lots of beautiful flowers insight, stopped by umbrellas street, Pink street, Pedro Catholic Church, Larimar, Embrose stores, and Marcorix Rum factory. Loaded places to visit. We thouroughly enjoyed this tour. This tour is Anthony’s company. Anthony did well in selecting guide. Rated is excellent overall.

Perfect tour if you have limited time in Puerto Plata

This was the first stop on our cruise and we only had limited time to explore the city and that's why we went with a tour. My husband and I enjoyed greatly this tour, which was more fun and informative than expected! We were the only ones and our tour guide Agustin even met with us earlier than scheduled because our ship arrived early. He was the friendliest welcome to the Dominican republic! He and the driver Samuel took us around the city, seeing all major sights (pink street, cathedral, rum distillery, chocolatery), he didn't rush us and gave us plenty of time. He answered out questions and even impressed my German husband with his knowledge of German, haha. We went to the mount Isabel and then also to the fort. We saw and experienced more than expected and we recommend this tour!

Basic tour of Puerto Plata.

Teleferic is the best. Rum and chocolate factories are just waste of time and tourist traps while more time needed to visit the fort, and old city. The tour guide, Franklin was super nice person that was following the schedule with a very nice and confortable van. Overall the tour is overpriced but ofer some basics of the city in a very limited time.

Puerta Plata and Mt Isabel for the win!

We loved riding the cable car up to Mount Isabel de Torres. It was beautiful up there. We had great weather and clear skies. We also got to see other highlights in Puerto Plata like the pink street, umbrella street, Fortaleza San Felipe, etc.. The tour was exactly as it is written. Our guide, Nathan, was great. He was communicative the day of so we could find him easily. And the tour company was also very helpful and communicative ahead of time to answer questions and assist when we had to change our tour date. Some of the visits like the chocolate factory and rum factory are a little salesy (but not pressuring), and that is to be expected. The locals rely on tourism. We did get some chocolate! I would definitley recommend.

Puerto Plata cruise stop

Oh my goodness should sum it up. We had an awesome day with an awesome tour guide that really helped us see as much of the city as we could cram into our short visit. I should mention our tour guide was very easy on the eyes and we probably would have followed him off a cliff which I’m pretty sure we just about did with the whole cable car experience. It was a wonderful experience and we would definitely recommend them to anyone visiting the Puerto Plata area.

Fantastic Private tour, book with confidence!

Received a text almost immediately after booking confirming pickup time, guide was on-time, very professional and knowledgeable. Very interesting to see the city of Puerto Plata, pink street, umbrella street etc. It was worth it alone for the cable car though.. there was a massive line as it was a Sunday and many of the locals were there, but thanks to our guide we were able to skip the entire line and entered the cable car basically as soon as we got there. wish we would have spent a bit more time at the Fort of San Felipe but other than that, 10/10!

Don’t Waste Your Time or Money

Puerto Plata City Tour - Trip Adviser reviews were 5 stars. Stops included Mount Isabel de Torres, Macorix House of Rum, Independence Central Park, Umbrella Street, Paseo de Dona Blanca (Pink Street), Amber Musuem & Fort San Felipe. To be honest with you, I wasn’t impressed with this tour. It felt like one giant commercial. You watched professionally produced 5-minute clips of the product and then they would try & sell you the product for 15 minutes (rum, chocolate & amber jewelry etc)

Great tour

Mr. Fabio was a great guide. Cable car was a great experience. Walking around the area by the cave was a great experience seeing different foliage avd flowers. Seeing Umbrella Street was great. Visiting the Lorimar jewelry factory and purchased a bracelet for my girlfriend. A great tour.

Great trip on the Cable Car in in the City

We wanted to ride the cable car which was not offered through our cruise ship. I found this tour and it was perfect. Our driver, Diomi Espinal, was so kind and knowledgeable. He knew the right time to get to the cable car so we would not have a long wait and would have plenty of time for a city tour. We had a great time.

The rum factory, cigar factory, and chocolate factory were small, but interesting. Downtown was predictably rundown.

Great experience!

Tour Guide Fabio is very friendly, professional and experienced. He provided detailed historical facts about Puerto Plata and the other historical places we visited. I was deeply touched about the history of the “pink street”. Fabio took us to a nice breach restaurant and as a bonus, Fabio speaks English! I highly recommend this tour.

Great tour, beautiful view, friendly guide.

Anthony was great. He answered my questions promptly. His directions were detailed. I had no trouble finding my guide, Diome. Diome spoke fluent English, gave background/history on locations we visited. He also took several pictures of me with the beautiful view surrounding. I had a blast and would only recommend this tour to anyone who would like to see more of Puerto Plata. Don’t settle for the Bay only.

Covers the port area well with various stops

Cable car, national park visit, highlights of the city all made this special and memorable, with a guide who educated us as we traveled comfortably around various places.

Amazing experience! :)

The entire experience was great from the booking right down to the drop off after the tour. When I made the booking, the hotel my fiancee and I were staying at was not listed as one of the pick up locations, so we reached out and Anthony quickly made the accommodations to change the pickup point. On the day of the tour, Fabio was amazing! He was funny, knowledgeable and easy to chat with. He made sure to engage with every single person in our small group and really made us feel like family.

My son and I had a super fab time! Lots of great experiences and laughing....we experienced the beauty of the cable car and the lushness of the flowers and trees. Our guide was knowledgeable and fun. The rum factory was cool and being in town didn't disappoint. People were friendly and welcoming to us. Take the tour!

Best DR Excursion

This was our first time to DR and we learned about the history and culture of the country in a few short hours. Nathan was our driver and he was a wealth of knowledge. He took us around the city and when we got to the cable car the line was to long for us to ride. Not only did Nathan speak with the operator but we were able to experience it and not miss our boat. I would recommend this excursion to anyone looking to experience the true DR.

Sadly Disappointed

The email instructions as to where to meet the tour guide once we got off of the ship in Puerto Plata could have been better with more specific directions. Found our guide almost by accident. The other people on the tour were told to be out at 9am so we lost 50 minutes waiting for them. Our guide (Nathan) was more of a driver than a guide. Our tour was very rushed. We saw everything that the tour advertised but really had no time to really experience them before we had to leave. When we stopped Nathan would tell us where we were but gave us very little details of the sites. The cable car to the top of mountain was broken so we never experienced this part. The tour owner did reimburse us $20 per person as compensation. Sorry but I would not recommend this tour if asked.

Great Day in the DR

Had a wonderful day with Nathan, he did a nice job making sure we were comfortable and well hydrated. The highlight was the mountain cable car, don’t miss those views. Going down near the water and seeing the surf was pretty cool. Anthony did a great job communicating with us before the trip, the night before and the day of. These guys take care of business. 100% recommend them, thanks guys

Fun port day, beautiful port

Had great day with Nathan from Anthony tours. The minivan was comfortable, he made sure we had water and he showed us the City. The highlights were the cable car to the mountain top and the beautiful shoreline. Anthony did a very good job communicating including the night before and the morning of our tour. Great job guys

Good place to go but without a guide

Cable car tour is good but we had a guide who was rushing and spent more time on phone with supervisor then with us We were not able to enjoy the Cable car tour and gardens as we were rushed theu

Fantastic tour and enjoyable day!

Exceptional tour by Nathan (and Fabio). My husband and I enjoyed seeing the sights while riding around the city, and experiencing the view by cable car. We highly recommend this tour (and anthonyinfotours)!

Nice way to see the city

The communication from the company after booking was fantastic. Prior to us getting off the ship I was texted our drivers name and picture (Fabio), who was waiting for us with a sign outside the port entrance. We ended up being the only people on our tour, were provided icy cold bottles of water and were shown all over the town. The rum factory was interesting, the Amber museum, Umbrella street, the Fort and Pink Alley. Unfortunately the gondola was closed but we were refunded for that portion of our tour. Fabio was very amusing and a great host.

City & cable car

Tour owner was very communicative and kept us informed on where to meet and drivers details. Driver started by taking us to several shops which we didn’t want, You could tell he was wanting us to buy so he got something from the owners. One was so bad the quality of souvenirs were rubbish. After telling him no more shopping we saw some good stuff and what we expected to see. Driver was talkative and friendly. Didn’t get to the cable car because of rain/wind so he gave us a refund. Recommend the tour except for the excessive shopping early on.

Nice few hours in the city

The tour operator kept excellent communication so we knew who our driver would be, where to go and included his photo. We were the only ones on our tour which made it extra nice. Our driver Fabio was waiting for us with a sign with our name on it, the mini van was air conditioned and comfortable. The rum factory was interesting and reasonably priced, the amber museum was different, not bad just different. Fabio drove us through various areas explaining the culture and daily life. The cable car was out of order so we didn’t get to do that part so Fabio refunded that portion of our money. We visited Umbrella St, Pink Alley and the Fort. All and all it was a very laid back nice day.

No CabLe Car. Tour guide just told us when we were already in the car. I only bookes this because of the Cable car. So disappointed.

Great your not handicap accessible.

The tour was great. The tour Guide Fabio was excellent. My only complaint is we booked this because it stated it was handicapped accessible. This was not the case. There were many parts of it that would not be considered handicap accessible. Again great tour and your guid for this who can walk but it sort of ruined it for us as one of our guests is I. A wheelchair.

Awesome Tour 😎

I had a lot of fun. Fabio was right on time with pickup. He spoke really good English and Spanish. He was very knowledgeable about the city and I learned a lot from him. We had a Beautiful cable ride up the mountain, the guides there will help you take some good pictures. Then we visited a Rum house where Darwin gave us a helluva tour through the factory. I left feeling really good and now have a new rum habit of Mama Juana🤩. We then took a walk through the town, everyone was welcoming and warm ( not like other places where you feel like a tourist). And finishing off Fabio taught us some more cool history about the King and Queen and how impactful Rebublica Dominica has. Smooth ride, awesome people, well worth the price. 10/10 Recommend.

Super wonderful trip!!!

Fabio was amazing and Anthony helped us find him outside the port. He called us “family” and we felt like his family. Ge was thoughtful with water and snacks and extra special surprises. I would highly recommend this company and especially Fabio!!!

Puerto Plata city tour and cable car

Antonio was extremely helpful and responded to my emails very promptly, which gave me confidence in choosing his company to book the city tour and cable car excursion. The driver (Juan) was there to meet us at the port. The vehicle was clean with air conditioning. Juan was extremely knowledgeable and provided us with excellent cometary throughout. He also took some amazing videos/photos of us which will be fond reminders of a great day. The tour was as advertised with the exception that we did not go to the castle which is listed in the itinerary and it was therefore a little disappointing not to have gone there particularly given how close it is to the port. However this did not detract from the overall enjoyment of the day and I would have no hesitation in recommending this company for your tour of Puerto Plata.

Puerto plata vip tour

I felt vip! My own guide that showed me all beautiful places of this island. Guide was very polite and knowledgeable. Took his time. We didn't feel rushed. I appreciate all his help.
