Pioneer Tour: Shore Excursion from Puerto Chacabuco

The tour was excellent....

The tour was excellent. The scenery was beautiful and the lunch was excellent. I highly recommend it.

No tour as operator never showed up.

The tour operator never showed up. I followed their instructions and confirmed in advance using WhatsApp. We were on the first tender into the port. Waited an hour, tried to reach them via WhatsApp. No response. We spent an hour stressed out and worried that our plans were cancelled and no one would respond. Ended up on a similar tour from a different operator. She said she knew Top Private Tours and would work it out. Her tour was a full bus (not a van or minivan for 15 or fewer people). We requested a partial refund for the price difference. Viator declined. I escalated through customer service. Supposedly they did a thorough review of my request (in less than 15 minutes from the time of my email) and declined again. I WILL NEVER BOOK WITH VIATOR AGAIN.

A lovely day

Jose was our gracious and knowledgeable guide through the beautiful scenery surrounding Puerto Chacabuco. The group of passengers was congenial; the driver was expert and the van was well maintained. The entire experience was well crafted and I felt a valuable window into the local culture.

Spectacular Scenery

The scenery in this part of Chile is magnificent. We had stops along the way at a large lake, at rivers and at waterfalls. Our tour guide, Elizabeth, was especially good. She speaks very good English. She provided a lot of pertinent information all along the way.

A beautiful day

The asado was absolutely amazing, our tour guide Jose, was very knowledgeable and nice. We had the best time!!

Our guide Andrea was...

Our guide Andrea was amazing. She is a great ambassador for Puerto Aysen. She is so knowledgeable and shared so much information about the region. We went places most of the tour ship folks didn’t. The beach was great, the farm and bbq lunch was excellent and the trip to the waterfall was spectacular. Thank you so much for a memorable experience!

You get real value for your money.

The smooth organization. The Guide was awesome and the driver drove the mini van splendid on though roads.

Olé Jose !

We were met at the port by our host with the most José ! Lovey guy he was so passionate about his native Patagonia and was very knowledgable. We saw all the gorgeous sights including waterfalls, longest suspension bridge in Chile followed by a delicious Patagonian lunch with wine and dancing. I would recommend this pioneer tour

Very good and beautiful day!

The barbecue lunch at the farmhouse was outstanding. Family owned, and run and made for a fantastic stop. The waterfall was worthwhile and they visit around the lake was beautiful. Only reason I didn’t give it a five was because the guide was brand new, hard to understand and very difficult to hear. Even with the microphone.

Sites around Porto Chacobuco.

The tour visited a few sites around Porto Chacobuco including a nature preserve, the longest bridge in Chile (not that long), a waterfall deep in the woods and ended with a lamb roast at a working farm. Unfortunately the guide was new and did not use any sort of audio help. It was very difficult to hear her in the back of the bus especially when driving down gravel roads. A handheld microphone would have made a major difference. The lunch was the highlight.

Very Disappointed

Our family has travelled all over the world and has used Viator for almost all of our excursions. This was by far the worst experience we have had. For starters, we were told that "This tour CANNOT wait for late arrivals". We waited 45 additional minutes for two people to arrive which cut time off of our trip. In addition, we were unable to see several stops on the tour for a variety of reasons. We spent 30 minutes on a very winding road to see a waterfall, only to be told they thought we were on the wrong road. We never did get to see that particular waterfall. Very disappointed.

Chacabuco

Sharing life on Patagonia as a German immigrant. Missed seeing the first park but through no fault of the guide. Driver quickly reacted before the road closed

Great tour

We had a great tour. Our driver and tour guide were awesome. We had a wonderful time at the farm with the traditional lamb meal. The food was fresh and delicious.

Great service

We did not actually get to take this trip, which was disappointing. Our cruise ship canceled the stop at this port, due to Weather, at the last minute Fernando, at Top Private tours, which runs the tour responded to my request immediately. He graciously allowed us to cancel the trip, and refunded our money within two days. Hopefully we get to take this tour next time!

Amazing and would do it again

Our guide Angie took us to see the beautiful nature of the Patagonia. The meal was delicious, the farmer owner is super friendly. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.

Péssima escolha

Ao descermos na 3ª turma do navio, chegamos no lugar marcado no porto e não havia ninguém nos esperando. Após 15 min.de procura, encontramos fora do local uma Sra. que se disse representante da VIATOR e ao informarmos nossos nomes ele disse que não estávamos na sua lista e que o passeio já havia partido. Após termos questionado tal informação, a mesma mudou a versão dizendo que havíamos chegado tarde e perdemos a excursão. Foi de um atendimento nada profissional, uma pessoa extremamente rude e nem se preocupou em nos auxiliar.
