Great day trip from Prague

Great trip. The views were stunning and well worth the hike. Photos don’t do them justice! Sam, our driver, was friendly and informative and we enjoyed interacting with other passengers.

Wonderful landscape

We had a wonderful trip with Markus. He was informative and took good care of us. The landscape was just amazing. The temperature was around 15 degree celcius but ut was windy so you had better windproof clothes. Dont worry about the hiking. I could do it, so surely you can do it too. The tour is worth the money

Fanatic day in the bohemian wilderness

It was a fantastic day start to finish. Michał Mišu Salwiński was our guide for the day. He took care of every detail and was great guide through the day. He drove with great care and had great insights into the culture and terrain. 100% would recommend this for solo women travellers.

An amazing day trip filled with awesome views

What an incredible day! Everything was well organised, from communication the day before, and well into the tour. Ondre was our guide and was amazing! So full of knowledge and such a great character. I really wanted to go on this tour because of the reviews, and they are not wrong. The views were breathtaking and I am still in awe. We were treated to comfort in the minivan, which was well stocked with water and snacks. It was truly an impressive day out 😊 Thank you Ondre and Bohemian Adventures.

Wonderful Day in the Woods with Sam

Sam was a superb guide with a wealth of interesting experiences and perspectives. He was very knowledgable about the area, sensitive to each group member’s needs and interests, and genuinely curious and kind. The scenery was breathtaking, and the hiking was well-paced. This was the ideal tour for a brief visit to the Czech Republic.

Great experience with Bohemia Adventures

We went on June 2 and saw three main attractions, Pravčická Gate, Kamenice River boat ride and Bastei Bridge (in Germany). Although the weather did not cooperate toward the end, Raphael was well prepared with a backpack large enough to carry all raincoats for the entire two vans of tourists, and he carried them on his back until they were needed. Hiking sticks were also provided because a section of the climb was steep, and the back of the vans was stocked with hot tea/coffee/water and protein bars. Lunch was delightful. Trip planning was superb. The tour guides were patient, helpful, knowledgeable and spoke good English. Even though it rained on us in the afternoon, we were in good hands with Bohemia Adventures.

Enjoyable, busy day. Boat ride was meh

Raphael was great and spoke multiple languages which was very helpful for our group. He gave a great history and had many interesting facts to share throughout the day. The day was very busy, with a full itinerary of moderate intensity hikes - be prepared for a long day of walking. The first hike was very nice with beautiful views. Lunch was pretty good, nothing amazing but fairly filling. The second hike to the boat was meh. It was a lot of stairs for not a very interesting or enjoyable boat ride. This was my least favorite part. The last part from Germany was very incredible in terms of the views and pictures we got. Overall I would recommend it if you’re ok with a day of hiking, but don’t expect too much from the second hike or the boat ride.

Such a great day!

Our day with Ross and the group was a trip highlight. A good amount of hiking led to some spectacular views (with appropriate breaks and a delicious lunch). Along the way, Ross created a positive and fun environment for us all, as he shared his info and enthusiasm for the days activities.

Best guided tour and guide tour Matêj

It was such a wonderful experience with a small group, a comfortable van, GREAT food included, water and snacks included, and the best part with the best tour guide who knew everything about the history and stories of every place we visited. Matêj (our tour guide) was amazing and took good care of us. But you are going there for the adventure and to see the beautiful places. It is worth every $$ and every sweat!

Awesome Day!!

Fantastic day of hiking and beautiful scenery. Both Sam and Raphael were fun, energetic guides. After touring lots of castles and palaces, this was a nice way to end our European journey.

Amazing day with fantastic guides!

We had an incredible day hiking with Jana and Michu. Jana was very prompt with picking up/all communication regarding pick up times etc. Michu took us on the hike part of the journey. He was a great guide and lovely person to chat to. The “hard hike” itself was so worth it - the views at the top are amazing. Jana then took us out for the rest of the day. She gave us great suggestions for lunch. Her excitement and pure joy at explaining moss to us was honestly a highlight. You can’t help but be as excited/interested as she is. The whole day itself was amazing but Bastei bridge was insanely beautiful. I’m only sad we couldn’t stay for longer! Highly recommend! And a huge thank you to Jana and Michu 😊

The tour guide (Sam) was excellent. I don’t have anything else to say about this trip other than a well organized and fun trip!

Wonderful day trip with excellent views

This tour is fantastic. Our guide Markus was very helpful and patient with the group, allowing us to cstch our breaths and take photos whenever we asked. The views are amazing, and the boat ride towards the second half of the day was a great way to break up the hiking and give our legs a rest. This hike is well worth the views!

Such a great tour!

The park and hikes were breathtaking, but our guide Matej (Mathew) brought the tour to whole new level. His vast knowledge of the park, it's history and it's evolution through time was amazing. He knew about all the fauna and flora and provided insights into everything about Austria. No questions went unanswered, which is not surprising given his Background in Biology, Architecture, and philosophy. Matej is a natural teacher and should you be lucky enough to get him as your guide it will undoubtedly make a great tour even better.

Fabulous outdoor adventure from Prague!

Trip was awesome! We had a sampling of everything: hiking, boating, eating! Spectacular views! Our guide Sam was delightful and knowledgable. Price was reasonable! All around a fabulous adventure!

A day tour worth taking

For someone visiting Prague for the first time, and have a full day to kill, this is a perfect day-trip to plan. The Key pros: - The tour company sent notification reminders a day before with more details. - Hotel pickup & drop-off, which is very much appreciated !! - Bottles of water & snacks in the van (& allowed to eat in the van) is also a big plus! - Equipment such as walking sticks, etc if needed - Lunch included at a very nice local place to eat - Our tour guide - Sam was great, young guy full of energy & positivity. He genuinely enjoyed what he was doing, and it showed !. The fact that he is well travelled also added to a lot of interesting conversations!. Do ask him about MJ & Prague connection ;-). By the end of the trip, he was like a buddy (atleast I felt that way, not sure if he felt the same...hahaha ) - He was also all for taking pictures, which was an added bonus! The Cons: - For what was covered, I feel it was a tad bit expensive. It could be priced better. - While Sam knew a bit about Prague history from the WW onwards, maybe a bit more of the history pre-WW, and some background info about the geological wonders that we were touring, would have been great. - Sam was a little hard of hearing, I hope he gets it checked out soon. Overall, a tour experience is not just WHAT you went to see, but also the journey & experience with whom you went to see with, and on that front this tour company did a good job and I'd recommend this tour again.

Great day in the sun

Misiu was a very good host and guide during the entire tour. The hike was very easy and short to Saxon Switzerland and will definitely have to come back on my own. He then showed us the major sites in dresden and then gave us 2 free hours to explore the city. If you're short on time from prague this is definitely the tour to take for a brief excursion into Germany.

Fantastic full day of walking in national parks

We had our guide Sam take us for the trip. The new minibus was completely full but still comfortable and nicely air conditioned. Picked up on time with a friendly greeting. On route Sam giving lots of information about various landmarks on route. First stop was the longest walk. Such a shock to see how much of the landscape devastated by a forest fire a couple of years ago. Stunning views from the top. Shame it was raining which prevented us from seeing as far as what we should’ve been able to. Sam ran ahead to collect the minibus from the allocated parking. Lunch was lovely, lots of selection and a good portion to keep you fuelled for the rest of the day. After lunch, walked down (and then back up) lots of steps. But worth it for the boat trip. Very tranquil 20 minute trip. - in my opinion the highlight of the trip. Last part was only a short walk to the bridge on the German side. Worth it for the view. We had a lovely day, great group of people and made fun by Sam. Highly recommend for people who like stunning views of national parks.

Such a great day!

We chose this adventure to immerse ourselves in nature, and it did not disappoint. Our guide, Raphael, was great—punctual, communicative, and full of valuable information. It was a long day, but I would highly recommend it.

Great Tour

Great tour and experience. Must try. Lunch was nice and tour guide Jana is very accomodating. Bastei and Saxon Switzerland with Fjords are excellent.

Go for the Active not the East! Absolutely worth it!!

Our tour guide Markus was a wonderful guide and very informative about our incredible day! Be prepared for a fabulous hike & steep trails but the payoff is worth it. The arch is breathtaking! The easy walk keeps you in a village while everyone else gets to walk up to see the arch and the famous spot from the Narnia movies so I really recommend going for it! The boat ride was meh but the scenery is gorgeous. Hiking shoes/running shoes are a must. Lots of people used poles & found them really helpful. Such a great day outside of the city & in nature! You will be exhausted and happy at the end of your day!

Amazing day out

We had an amazing day touring Bohemia and Saxon Switzerland while holidaying in Prague. Our guide, Michael, collected us in a very comfortable air conditioned mini van and led a well paced and interesting hiking tour in which we saw some breathtaking sites. We had lunch in a nice local restaurant and were provided with water, snacks and hiking sticks. We also met some interesting people in our fellow travellers. This is not what I would describe as a relaxing day out; you get a pretty decent workout as there is a lot of steps and we were out for over 12 hours. However it was totally worth it. I would have no hesitation in recommending Bohemia Adventures for a small group tour if you are visiting Prague and enjoy nature.

Good day trip from Prague to see some nature

I wanted to do an activity while in Prague that didn't involve castles/churches, and this seemed like a good way to see some nature. I'm glad I went! Sam was my tour guide, and he was great since he's friendly and knowledgeable and also well-travelled. My favourite part is learning about the history of Prague/Czech Republic, otherwise much of the day is spent driving to the different locations. I was travelling solo and so were many of the others in our group. Very comfortable day since the van is extremely well-maintained. The first hike in the day is steep but doable and you don't have to climb quickly necessarily. Because of traffic, the day started at 08:00 and I got dropped off at 20:00. The restaurant for lunch is nice and overlooks the area where you'll go down for a boat ride.

Excellent adventure

Excellent day, hike and boat, then Bastei bridge, challenging hike as older person but doable. Sam, our tour guide for the day, was lovely, very friendly and encouraging and a great driver. Would definitely recommend this experience.

Review

The tour was amazing!! The tour ended up being a private tour because nobody else booked for the same day. Our tour guide Ondra was super friendly, knowledgeable, and an all around great tour guide. He was happy to answer any questions we had and even offered us a bunch of recommendations around Prague. The tour itself was gorgeous. The first hike is mostly shaded and not too steep, and the views are definitely worth it. The lunch was delicious and there were plenty of options to choose from. The hike to and from the gorge/river boat was a bit more strenuous, much steeper and definitely requires a few stops, which Ondra was happy to accommodate us with. The last stop in Germany was just as gorgeous as the rest of the tour and a nice and easy way to end the day.

Magical view and amazing tour guide

Best day of my week here in Prague! Raphaël was the best tour guide ever; he gave us lots of interesting information about the area during the drive and on the hikes. He was also funny, entertaining, and very attentive. He gave us unlimited water, snacks, and carried raincoats with him in case we needed them. The hike itself was beautiful and honestly not strenuous at all. Definitely recommend it as part of your trip!

Good experience but average location

If you want to spend a day out of the city chaos, this tour is for you! :) The guide Sam was very welcoming and fun, and we had many interesting conversations. As well as the group was definitely an addition to this day. Relaxing yes, but so many hours on the road, and I honestly saw more beautiful views and better hiking trails wandering around here and there... So I was a bit disappointed... In short for the price invested I probably wouldn't do it again, hence the three stars. But it was certainly a good experience :)

Amazing! Loved this tour

Our Tour guide was Michal "Misiu", he was very organized and pick everybody on time with proper communication in Whatsapp. Views were amazing. I absolutely loved the hike and boating. Food was very good in the Mezna village. Misiu was very passionate about history and what he does. He is a very kind and passionate human being, I enjoyed the scenic views with history behind the viewpoints.

Buyer Beware!!! Bohemian Tours misrepresented the difficultly and mislead customers about this tour.

The Best of 2 Countries in 1 Day (easy) tour by Bohemian Tours: 1. In all of the literature that we found on the Viator website, we selected only that we wanted the EASY tour. If this tour would have been listed as moderate or difficult, we would have never booked this tour. I feel that Bohemian Tours misled and misrepresented their hikes on this tour. NONE of the hikes should have been listed as EASY!!!! The Kamenice River hike should have been listed as moderate to difficult while the Pravcicka Gate should have been listed as difficult to very difficult and not moderate. The only hike that came close to being listed correctly was the Bastel Bridge and with the many stairs, that should have also been labeled as moderate. Again I feel that Bohemian Tours misrepresented the difficultly of these hike and the tour itself. 2. We did receive an update letter from Bohemian Tours less that 24 hours before our tour was to begin. This means that the email came to us after the 24 hour free cancellation period had already passed. In this email Bohemian tours went into more details of the difficulty of the Kamenice River hike with a description of navigating steep hills during the hike. In all of my time I have never came across an EASY hike that has navigating of steep hills all the way to the bottom!!!! Their comment that this was a hike in nature and not in the city was outrageous and deceptive!!! Bohemian tours told us that nature walks are classified differently to city walks. This is the first time that I have heard of this and just added insult to a bad situation. 3. Our tour guide from Bohemian Tours did pick us up at the prescribed time in front of the Prague Marriott. He put all eight of us in the van and started our drive to the first site. After driving for 90 plus minutes, we stopped for a rest break. At that time the tour guide gathered our small group of four together that had signed up for the easy tour and told us the following and gave us the options: He was combining the tours (Difficult and Easy) tours together. We never did agree to this and from his information that he provided to us, it sounded as if this has been done many times before by Bohemian Tours. The options he gave us were that we could upgrade our tour and do the Pravcicka Gate hike, or we could wait for him and the rest of the group at the trailhead (for 2.5 hours), or we could walk back to town of Hrensko and do what they say would be a self guided tour again waiting for the other group for at least 2.5 hours. This was a good way to say you are on your own until we get back!!!!! You need to be careful with Bohemian Tours and read between the lines. Self guided tour means that you are being dropped in a very small town and told to wait until they can get back with the difficult group to continue the tour. 4. On the 90 minute drive, our tour guide gave us waivers to sign and date and needed them back when we stopped at the rest stop. This was done before the guide gathered our small group and discussed our options and informed us about the changes in our tour. If this option would have been given to us before we left the Prague Marriott, we could have decided to forgo the tour and stay and enjoy the day in Prague. By waiting till we were 90 plus minutes away from Prague, the option of returning to Prague was taken away from us. Two of us elected to do the hike to Pravcicka Gate as we were stuck and felt like we were given no choice but to sit and wait. Two members of our group was DUMPED at the trail head and told to be back at the van in 2.5 hours. Again a change to the tour that we had not agreed or was not in the original documentation. Two of our members after trying and do the activities became ill and it took two days for them to regain their strength to continue. Bottom line is that the tour was a pure waste of time for us and it really cost us two days of our vacation. 5. When we drove to lunch, the Bohemian Tour guide started giving us more information about the hike to the river. He told me that it was NOT and easy hike and had told his management that the description should have been changed to at least a moderate or difficult hike. Our group went about half way down and knowing how difficult it was, all four of us turned around and headed back to the top as we did not want to delay the rest of the tour. 5. When I questioned the tour guide as to why he did not disclose this information to us before we left the Prague Marriott, he indicated and knew that if we got 90 plus minutes away from Prague it would have been impossible for us to ask to drive back to Prague. Again this sounds like a practice that Bohemian Tours has done on a regular basis. 6. I understand that the vendor has the option to changes tours, but to increase the difficultly and mislead customers about the overall tour totally unacceptable. I understand that Bohemian Tours is the one who wrote up the description for the tour and makes the call for the hikes. I am not dealing with Bohemian tours and I am demanding a full refund on this tour!! We have used VIATOR for many years and this is the first time that they have done us wrong. If you know anything about Customer Service you should be able to tell that this was a disaster. If I were Viator, I would have a hard time calling Bohemian tours one of my partners!!!!

Long day but worth it

Wonderful. The day was cloudy and rained sometimes but it was worth the little bit of wet. The hike is strenuous, lots of stairs. Beautiful landscape and photos. Vladimir was an excellent guide and driver. The water and snacks were appreciated.

It was a really fun day! Our guide, Raphael was so nice, He texted us as to exact time he would be at our hotel for pickup. Van was full and we sat up front with him and I'm sure glad we did! Excellent & PicturesqueTour with Ondra

Great experience and value with a small group and personalized tour. Thanks to Ondra who was our fantastic tour guide that was very personable and knowledgeable. I always appreciate having a local tour guide that can share personal experiences and provide travel tips and recommendations. The lunch was better than expected at a local restaurant with plenty of choices to accommodate a variety of dietary needs. I would highly recommend this tour.

Somewhat challenging but worth the incredible views!

I completed the “harder” tour, with three incredible hikes and viewpoints. My guide, Matej, was lovely and is a fountain of knowledge which only added to the experience! The first hike was more challenging than expected as there are no breaks, but the views are so worth it! It would’ve been nice to have had a little more time going up and at the top to relax and have a drink maybe whilst taking in the views, but with such a jam packed day I understand why we need to keep moving! Lunch was nice, and the second hike to the boat ride was quite easy going down but be prepared for a steep walk back up. The boat ride was beautiful, and so peaceful. Be aware the boat ride is not in English, but still worth it for the experience. Finally the third hike is very easy after a long day, and featured multiple viewpoints of Germany and Bastei Bridge. This is a must do experience and definitely one of the highlights of my trip! Thank you, Matej!

Sam was the best tour guide! He was friendly, knowledgeable and had some of the best bridge jokes I’ve ever heard!! 10 out of 10 would highly recommend! He is also a good photographer!

Awesome day trip - recommended

The trip was awesome and very well planned. It was perfect for a family day trip including a 11 yr old kid. Hike was moderately easy and with proper path. Our tour guide Sam was very jovial and kept on telling us all the stories related to each spot. Thank you Sam for a wonderful trip.

Amazing day with guide Michal

Michal was an excellent guide knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. The destinations were beautiful and well explained. Lunch was delicious from a family run cafe at the trail h ad Toronto the gorges of Kamenice river. It was a small group, only 4, which made it perfect and the weather ended up being perfect as well.
