Skip the Line: Prague Castle Ticket and Introductory Overview

Beautiful tour with informative narration of the castle. Great description of the area and nice quick information to get along and enjoy at your own pace. Definitely recommend while in Prague.

Audio guide not included

Castle is amazing and introductory info great, however had to pay another 5 euros for audio guide which was a bit steep. It should have been included

Disappointing, use a different tour service

The tour operator was not helpful and the application to download the audio guide doesn’t work. It would have been better to use the handheld guide the castle offers. With no audio guide, this tour was hard to enjoy since there was no context to what you were seeing.

Sadly, Not worth the money

The instructions to meet the guide to get tickets was confusing. When we did the guide was not very welcoming; he was focused on his phone. The ‘30 min introduction’ by the guide was not very informative; he raced through it and seemed disinterested. He did ask if there were any questions but he didn’t really leave room for people to ask. The premium paid for ‘skip the line’ wasn’t worth it - there were crowds and ticket booths everywhere and I don’t believe skip the line is necessary. Our ticket was also limited to just four locations, not the entire complex. We were disappointed in the experience.

Refund wanted as we had no guide ?

That there was no guide ? I said to the guide are you coming with us and he goes no take care ? Refund wanted asap?

Prague Castle

It was very good. The tour guides are very helpful and kind. It was very organized. We like it. Thank you.

Not worth it

This may be worth the price at the height of tourist season, but it wasn’t worth it today. You only skip the line to purchase tickets. You still have to wait in line to enter the cathedral. The line for the cathedral when we went at 14:00 on a Sunday was virtually non-existent anyway. The very brief introduction, was really just a physical orientation to the locations of the four sites that the tickets enabled you to enter within the castle grounds. If you can read the map that comes with the ticket, you don’t need someone to tell you where the sites are. The “guide” provided very little context or history related to the sites that you then (after the 15 min talk from the guide) go to visit completely on your own. Because Tripadvisor purchased the tickets for you, if you want to purchase the audio tour, you would have to go stand on the ticket line anyway, which would defeat the purpose of skipping the one line that you got to skip for the $32 you paid. All said, this purchase was not worth it as it provided almost no added value.

Wonderful

The castle is wonderfully preserved and beautiful. Also loved St. Vitus Cathredal which took 700 years to build and reflected the changing architectural styles. Viatar’s skip the line was great for 2 reasons: 1. You didn’t have to wait for your tickets which saved us at least 20 minutes; and 2. The representative who met us gave us a brief overview then suggested some “don’t miss” things to see. All in all a worthwhile investment.

Prague castle and grumpy stewards

Let's get this clear this skip the line part is NOT skip the line to the cathedral, it is a skip the line for buying tickets only you do NOT skip the line at all !!!!. Sat in a cafe writing this review as everywhere is soooooooo packed you are queuing outside in the cold for AGES !!!!! I believe this should not be put down as wheelchair accessible as actually even though there is a wheel hair lift into the Palace, which is basically a rectangular room you could not possibly take a wheelchair anywhere else, people listen up even though it says the Cathederal is free of charge online the cathedral is NOT free of charge, you get to the turnstile and tou are turned away by 2 of the most grumpiest men on planet earth rude moody shouty made a 76 year old woman cry and a 80 year old man very worried indeed. Prague Castle is beautiful on the outside but not very much to read or look at inside to be honest I wouldn't bother... whereas some museums have interactive activities or dress rooms to look like olden days etc no effort made at all and this ticket does not warrant the price very very very dissapointed pushy shovey rude and grumpy people not for me thankyou

Full of history

Excellent! Our guides were visable with the blue and white umbrellas. No need to queue for tickets because they already had them. Lots of information given about the Castle and you could go back to them at any point. An absolute must when visiting Prague to go to the Castle.

Poor castle experience

The Prague castle is entirely overrated and was a very disappointing experience. Do yourself a favor and invest your money and time on anything better.

Don’t buy. Mis-selling

Mis-sold! It doesn’t allow skip in line! You join the same line for all public, over-charged. Do not buy from Viator. They rip you off! But from direct from the venue instead

Good service

It was very useful to get skip the line tickets in Florence and Prague. I Florence we also got a tour guide who was excellent. The overview / intro at Prague Castle was also good. It can be difficult to get the rhe redemption point though. Often the person with your tickets comes later than you were asked to come and this is unnerving. Other times the place is easy to find if you know the city but not that easy when you don’t. A small gripe, however

Out of season I don’t think this gives you much benefit

Bit underwhelmed to be honest. Absolutely zero queues for anything so the ticket didn’t save us any time. The talk was ok but was a good 20-25 mins and everyone was getting cold! The ticket is valid for two days but you only have one entrance to each of the four places you can be admitted to. The cathedral had a portion closed for organ renovation - I suspect this will be the case for a good while yet.

No queues to jump!

The benefit of this was to miss the queues, suppose its luck of the draw, but on the day we went there were none ! There was a 20 minute pre talk from a quide, which was not well delivered and in fact boring . It was cold and all we wanted to do was get on with the visit !

Excellent organisation and information

Very well organised. The introductory overview of the tour and castle was done very well by the tour guide. We had a great time!

Visit to the Prague Palace and Cathedral

It was fast and hassle free. The agents were cleared and helpful. I couldn’t pay for the audio but I think it was because the wifi was not strong.

Skip the Line tix paid off

Skip the Line ticket was a great help in getting in faster and having a short intro to the castle. Also was able to use it the next day to enter the Cathedral. Got to it too late the first day. Well worth the trip back!

Queue and queue again

This is a bit misleading, as the ticket only allows you to skip the line at the information centre to purchase the initial ticket. You then need to join the long queues to gain entry to each area. However, it was still worth getting this ticket, as the queue at the information centre was very long! It was very very busy when we visited and the queues snake all over the place. Why there is no queue management / barriers to organise each queue, I don’t know?!

Great!

Steve was great in presenting the overview. Crowds were crazy today, but we had a wonderful visit to the castle and churches. Loved that we were on our own to tour. Would 💯 recommend.

NOT SKIP QUEUE

Not skip queue. They hand you the ticket outside, then tell you that you must queue like everyone else! “Go see something else and come back in a hour when the queue is shorter…”

Well organised trip...good price with plenty to see...highly recommended...canadian guy explaining things in a humorous n informative way...

Hassle free experience

Booked the day before our visit. Staff arrived at stated meeting point in good time to meet guests. Online voucher exchanged for tickets very quickly. Guide Steve was very informative & funny during introductory talk before we were able to explore at our own pace.

Total rip-off Don’t buy

Total rip-off. 10 minutes of a guide rattling through introduction to castle, before you walk around the castle complex yourself. Really not worth the extra money spent. Also there wasn’t a queue so don’t buy into that this ticket gets you first in line. False advertising

A nice half-day out

The palace inside the castle was underwhelming and the state rooms are not open. In reality you have access to the main banquet hall, the throne room with the crown jewels and a few side rooms. Worth it if you want to see these. The cathedral was historically beautiful although renovation works are taking place so you enter through the exit. If you want the main picture shot from the entry doors of the alter then you are able to get that at the end. My ticket did not include the Story of Prague Castle exhibition but you can purchase extras. Fabulous views of the city from the top. A good half-day out.

Beautiful castle…

Great tour…really was faster skipping the line this way….we got a introduction. About the whole place then you were on your own….we really like that way rather that been dragged with 20 o more people around…

No Ticket Validation - Complete Scam

We purchased our tickets online, went to the castle and there was no one there to redeem our tickets. We walked around for 30 minutes, and finally had to purchase brand new tickets from the ticket counter. I've asked for a refund, and have been refused, as Viator says we redeemed the tickets. What a scam!

The tour was self guided....

The tour was self guided. Although they offer an audio guide with your ticket that you can download, there was a problem and we weren’t able to get the audio guide. We ended up having to pay extra to get one at the Castle. We would’ve been better off just getting the tickets directly from the Castle.

Great way to avoid lines.

The lines can be long to get into the castle so this was a good way to see it. They gave you an overview and brief history and explained the layout of the buildings. This is a must see if you are in Prague.

Brilliant, well worth it

Not to be missed, an iconic place. Somethings you can see for free, but the ticket gets you further.

It Was Not What We Thought We Paid For

Because we were emailed a "voucher" for the actual tickets, we had to locate the tour guide to secure the tickets (which was not easy given the crowds at the site). Furthermore, there was no "skip the line" for the tickets, as there was only one point of entrance (which meant standing in line with people who just bought their tickets). As a result, we were unable to enter and tour St. Vitus Cathedral due to the very long lines of people who paid less for their tickets to see the cathedral.

Don’t buy through Trip Advisor

We searched Trip Advisor on how to buy tickets to the Prague Castle to skip the line. We bought tickets through Trip Advisor and then discovered tickets are not required. Within 5 minutes of making the purchase we cancelled it. Trip Advisor charged the entire fee as a cancellation fee. DO NOT TRUST THEIR SITE FOR PURCHASES!

Helpful

I am not sure if this is about the castle or guided tour but we visited the castle ourselves and there was no need to pre reservation as there was no waiting or long queue even if we are in August and we visited on weekend

Disappointed in Visitor's "policy"

We were not able to experience this tour as my husband had an accident, and we had to take him to urgent care. I cancelled our reservation so the tour guide would know we would not be there. I understood that there is no refund if you cancelled within 24 hours of the start time, and accepted our loss under the circumstances. However, after confirming my husband was ok, I reached out to Viator (3 hours before the scheduled tour time) to let them know we would be able to attend after all. They said the time was still available, but we would have to purchase tickets again. This made absolutely no sense. They had already charged us for the tickets, and then wanted to charge again? Needless to say, we did not go to the tour, and were very disappointed.

Waste of time and money

This is a waste of time. Just get your tickets at the official ticket counter. We waited longer to get our ‘skip the queue’ tickets than other people who just went straight to the official ticket sales counters. No organization. Just a lot of people jostling, trying g to get the tickets they bought that was supposed to make it quicker. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THESE.

A good alternative for a full guided tour

A good alternative if you don't want a guide OR to rent the audio portion BUT not great if you actually want to understand the history, story, etc. It was perfect for what we were interested in and we did purchase this groups 5 EURO guide that was down loadable but not easy to follow since their numbered stations were different than the numbered stations on the formal, Palace guides/Audio hosted tour. If you have teenagers, small children, not a lot of time or patience to walk room to room and listen and understand everything, this is a great way to go. A quick 20 minute intro and then you are off on your own to enter all of the most important parts of the Castle

Worth it for a fast spin through a beautiful place

Was a quick way to spend a few hours at the castle without overcommitting teenagers to a long tour. Would recommend! Grounds are beautiful

No Historical introduction

The misdirecting description is the “brief intro”. There’s nothing but an overall description on how to use the map and ticket. It would be nice if they included practical advice such as how the bathroom works (you need a token or a code), but most of all, what we were expecting was a brief introduction on the history of the place. It was very disappointing.

They provided great information in the introduction. We were then able to tour the area at our own pace.

Castle visit with teens

15 mins late getting there, guy waited for us. Thank you. We wanted to go off and do our own thing, didn’t take the short tour with the company. Would buy from this company again. Very good experience, thank you

Easy to find blue umbrellas carried by the reps. We were split up into various languages and given an introduction by our rep on best way to travel around site to get most out of our ticket - only took about 10 minutes but was invaluable

Skip this- use your guidebook or purchase an audio your instead.

The “introduction” to the castle was only minimally helpful. The guides basically told us how to use the tickets and provided little history. Not worth the $.

Free entrance and no line to skips

The entrance. Is free and there is not need to skip the line since there are several entrances and the lines move very quick. The palace complex is amazing but you don’t need to pay to get I.

Great value for money. Good pretour orientation. Lots to see. So little time !! Can plan to go back !!
