Names of the dead people on the wall of the synagogue is the most memorable part of our excursion. We found the same as ours names.

An excellent tour - so glad I booked it!

I enjoyed this tour so much. I had a wonderful guide, Dana. She met me at my hotel and shared a bit about Prague as we walked to the Jewish Quarter. We explored the synagogues, museum and cemetery. She was very knowledgeable and really made the sights come to life. A few years ago I took the Jewish Quarter walking tour - but that didn’t go in any of the buildings. I always knew I wanted to return and take the more complete tour, and I’m so glad I had the chance. Thank you to Dana for a wonderful tour!

Fabulous Walking Tour - Learned So Much!

Lenka was my tour guide! She was fabulous being so knowledgable about so much. We walked together to the Jewish Area and on the way she pointed out buildings with the history behind them. So interesting!!! We went in 3 synagogues, all museums. She explained everything and answered all my questions. We visited the cemetery and she explained so many things. I learned so much. This was something really special and I am so happy I booked this. It was marvelous and I highly recommend anyone going on this tour! Thank you, Viator for having this wonderful tour to book!!!

Well done & informative tour with Lenka

We were guided by Lenka on this tour. She did an excellent job. Lenka has a wealth of knowledge to share about the history of Jewish Prague. Definitely a worthwhile tour to take.

Important Jewish tour in Prague

This company was flexible in picking us up at a different location where we had finished up our morning city tour. Our tour guide Lena was terrific. We saw many important sites even before entering the old Jewish quarter area of Prague. We were able to tour the the four synagogues that make up the Jewish museum, along with the important Jewish cemetery. Not everyone on the tour was of Jewish heritage so Lenka spent time explaining the exhibits for them as well. Of course for those of the Jewish faith this tour is especially moving.

Could Be Better

The tour guide was very nice and also knowledgeable. However, as others have mentioned, the tour was supposed to be in English but was conducted in 2 languages, which wastes time. We did not see half of what we were supposed to. I don't know if it would be possible to see everything in the allotted time anyhow, but I feel we could have seen more if the tour had been conducted only in English.

Saw great things - didn't need a guide

The Jewish quarter is great and worth seeing. Our guide,however, was not very good. There were just three people on the tour, but the third one only spoke German, and so the tour was in both English and German. (Not as advertised). Her English was difficult to understand at times. She frequently stated facts that were contradicted in other tours. Also many of the things she did say were available to be read on info plaques. All that said, the cemetary and synogogues were beautiful.

Well informed tour

LADISLAV , is gem of person very nice and warm . Lot of patience speaks english. Also he has unique style of communication which was very pleasing.

Beautiful synagogues to see

The Jewish quarter was interesting to see, though the jubilee synagogue was not included. Our guide was quite knowledgeable and explained everything thoroughly, if a bit generically. I would have thought more personal stories would have been included, to give us a better feel of what it must have been like to live in this part of town and why the Jews were not allowed to own farmland etc. another tour we took ( architecture tour) explained in full all of this. I enjoyed the synagogues and took beautiful pictures. Definitely worth the money, and it takes the full 4+ hours to see everything. Small amounts of walking, but lots of stairs. Cemetery was a really unique feature of the tour.

Great Jewish Tour

Our tour guide went above and beyond in staying a bit later with us and knowing her history! We had a small group which also made it easier to hear. She definitely pointed out some things we would not have noticed on our own. Well worth it.

Prague Jewish tour

We had informative tour and seen all the Jewish synagogues in the Jewish quarter. We are also lucky to go down and see you discovered Mikva ( ritual bath)

We ended up getting a personal tour, with our guide (sadly I can’t remember her name). We saw some of the interesting sights the synagogue museums. Also we learned a lot of the Jewish faith, which was really good to learn about. I’d definitely recommend this tour. It’s always good to learn about the history of the Jewish ghetto.

Great walking tour

I love the free walking tours, and will tip well when they're done well. This one was excellent, learned a lot, and wished it was longer. Highly recommended.

A peek into the historic Jewish Ghetto

Our small group of 5 saw six sites and walked through the neighborhood. Our guide was pleasant and knowledgeable. We would have appreciated a bit more time in a few if the stops.

Anna: well informed tour guide

Our 2 1/2 half hour walking tour was actually 3 1/2 hours + long because Anna was not only a passionate and well informed guide (English , Czech and Italian) but she was also patient in answering our many questions too. The Pick-Up at our hotel was on-time.

Not Viator's fault. A driver came...

<p>Not Viator's fault. A driver came to the hotel and didn't speak or understand English too well. He saw us waiting and reached for my paperwork for the tour. I saw that my name was not on his list. He then made a phone call and said ok, He drove us down to the center of town and a lady met us at the corner. We were told to go with her to Kiosk. She went inside and came out and said, Sorry I can't help you. We said no way, you cannot just turn us away. She wanted to direct us to the Best Tour office. We said we do not know the area, walk with us. She said she could not do that and we talked her into walking us to the main street. I called the International number for Viator and they were very helpful with directions. We got to the location about 15 minutes late and a lady with Best Tours was very helpful. Apparently there were other people on the tour that were also delayed so we made it just in time. Great tour. I would have liked it if the Old New Synagogue would have been included instead of just walking past it.</p>

The synagogues especially the Pinsky...

<p>The synagogues especially the Pinsky were quite moving. The cemetery was amazing for the small space it was confined to. However, the tour was too long because of meeting at a central location and not in the Jewish Quarter as expected and explained. Anna was knowledgeable, but without a quiet walking device and her accent it was nearly impossible to hear her amongst the throngs of people. I just stayed near her at all times. <br/> People should be informed in your description that all the synagogues require 2 to 3 flights of narrow and high stairs to climb. My husband and others were unable to get to see anything above the lower level and therefore this was a great disappointment for them.</p>

<p>Probably a bit too long. We could have met at the Jewish Quarter rather than the office as the places of interest we passed from one to the other we had already covered on another tour. The guide, Anna, was very knowledgeable.</p>

Entusiasmante

Bravissima la guida lo consigliamo vivamente questo tour. Ti fa toccare con mano la storia e la tragedia umana causata da certe idee pericolosissime che stanno riprendendo piede in questa nostra povera Europa.

Bien mais on était mélangé avec des américains.

Bonne visite mais on n'a pas visité tout ce qui est écrit. De plus nous n'étions que 2 Français avec 6 américains, donc nous avions une guide qui parlait anglais et Français, et donc le tour à duré plus que prévu et a été baclé. Parfois même elle parlait 10mn en anglais et traduisait en 3 mn! Ce qui nous a frustré.

Muy interesante, una buena manera de acercarse a la cultura judía

La actividad fue realmente interesante, nuestro guía fue muy amable y tenía un amplío conocimiento. A pesar de que estaba lloviendo bastante, hizo todo lo posible para que la actividad se desarrollara con toda normalidad.

enttäuschende Umsetzung der Besichtigung des Jüdischen Viertels

Der Abholservice von unserer Unterkunft hat hervorragend geklappt. Für die Führung hatten sich außer uns keine weiteren Gäste angesagt. Die Gästeführerin fragte uns, was wir denn sehen wollten, wir waren erstaunt, dass sie über die gebuchte Tour offensichtlich nicht informiert war. Entsprechend war dann die Führung durch die Altstadt, das jüdische Viertel wurde zwar gestreift. Wir sind in keine Synagoge geführt worden, auch nicht auf den jüdischen Friedhof. Hierfür mussten wir uns im Anschluss an die Führung Eintrittskarten kaufen und uns dann diese Sehenswürdigkeiten selbst erschließen. Es hat uns sehr enttäuscht, dass es nicht zu einer fachkundigen Führung mit Hintergründen und Details zum jüdischen Leben in Prag gekommen ist. Immerhin hat man uns den Eintritt, der ja in der Vorabbuchung enthalten war erstattet.

Schlecht organisierte Führung durch das Jüdische Viertel in Prag

Die gebuchte Tour am 29.04.2018 ging komplett in die Hose.Die Reiseleiterin hatte offensichtlich den Inhalt der Tour nicht realisiert und daher die Führung nicht auf das jüdische Viertel fokussiert. Die mit gebuchten Führungen durch die Synagogen und dem Friedhof wurden gar nicht geboten. Die Eintritte hierfür haben wir extra gezahlt. Diese wurden uns zwar zurück erstattet, aber es ist natürlich ein zusätzlicher Aufwand. Das jüdische Viertel ist zwar sehenswert , wir haben es uns jedoch in den grössten Teilen selbst erschliessen müssen.
