Beautiful tour with informative narration of the city. Our guide was fantastic and spoke perfect easy to understand English. Great description of the clock and the walk to the top is worth it. Definitely recommend while in Prague.

Hardest part was locating...

Hardest part was locating the meeting point. Steve gave us an overview of clock history and information before entering the clock tower. He mentioned that there was a minimal charge to take the elevator up to the top....well worth it if you have climbing issues. Views from the tower are great.

Great experience with this tour

Our guide was good, not only he explained about the astronomical clock but also about the history of the old twin, pointed out points of interest and the story behind these. Overall great exp.

Tower Tour

Our guide stopped as we walked to the astronomical clock, adding additional bits of history. We arrived at the tower for the tour but no one told us where we were to meet the tower guide. The sign was at the end of the hall, not near the elevator. We finally met the tour but missed much of it.

Getting inside the building to have a look from the tower. Steve was great!!! Helped a lot. Also thanks to the ladies at the office.

Great in depth tour of Prague Castle and the Cathedral grounds.

The guide was very knowledgeable about the city & castle grounds and kept up the excitement so there was never a dull moment! Great tips on local spots for food and beer and some great facts about the city both modern and historic!

Excellent Tour

This was a wonderful way to experience the Astronomical Clock Tower. Our guide, Steve, was very knowledgeable and took time to walk us through the history of the neighborhood, nearby sites, and the Clock Tower before helping us check in and confirming there were no entry issues or delays with our tickets. We all enjoyed the historical information we learned from this tour.

Amazing!

It was a great tour! The girl was lovely. Remember when you go into the tower (before going through the gate with your ticket) make sure to get a tour guide ticket (it’s free but separate) and see what time it is for your language and about 30 minutes or an hour before use your ticket through the gate and DONT GO BACK THROUGH, go to the tour guide location because once you go out you cannot get back in and have to pay for a new ticket to get back in

Chaos for early start.

Although the view from the Tower itself was good the experience to get there was not. They do a 50% discount for the first hour of each day. So being a thrifty traveller my husband and I got there early to find a queue. When the doors opened there was no queue etiquette with rushing and pushing… there was only one person on the till. With two security guys stood around watching the chaos and chatting. I can’t believe that this doesn’t happen every day. It’s really simple, have queue areas cordoned off to ensure people get access in order. And get your lazy security guards to manage an orderly and controlled access.

Got to be seen

Loved the hourly chime with the figures and the underground tour, it has to be seen on your visit to Prague

Wonderful sight to see

Really interesting with wonderful views from the top. Was good to get some tips from the Guide but he was only with us for a few minutes and the rest is the info is on the audio guide. I found listening to the guides for the trip to Prague was much better and if an option in future would choose that. The clock is amazing though. A must see.

Great way to spend the morning in Prague.

The lovely young girl who took us to the tower and explained the history was very friendly and knowledgeable. And then the tower entry was what it says on the tin.

Hearing about what all the statues and symbols mean made the clock more impressive. The view from the tower was amazing. And Patrik our guide to the underground was very very good

Not as expected

The tour description was deceptive. There was no tour of the clock tower. The person just talked to us outside the building and her accent was difficult to understand. Then she left us and we had to get our own ticket to the clock tower. The dates on the ticket from Viator were from 2 days ago and the employee at the clock tower was upset with “Get Prague Guide” for giving us old tickets and deceiving us. Not worth the money.

It was overall a great experience

It was very well planned and managed tour. We got a swift entry and the underground dungeon at clock tower was included in the ticket was a bonus. Worth seeing

Fantastic clock

The guide was very informative and interesting. We especially enjoyed going up into the tower at old town hall. The views were spectacular!

Not very much value added

I love Jenny H's review. It perfectly describes our experience. Luba struggled to communicate in English and talked in generalities. I was very disappointed to discover that a different ticket was necessary to use the elevator either up to or down from the tower. Fortunately my wife was having a good day and made it up and down. If you plan to be on the second floor on the hour you can see the Apostles up close (depending on how any people have the same idea). The Clock is so complex and Luba's English so difficult to understand coupled with her rapid fire delivery, I did not learn what I had hoped to about the clock. Maybe I should have opted for the Optional Audio Guide.

Not worth the tour guide experience

We met at the tour company office and met with our tour guide. We were handed the tickets for the tower. Then, we walked to the Old Town Hall, together as a group. Along the way, our tour guide attempted to point out things of interest and their historical significance, but was struggling with the facts. We arrived at the square a few moments before the top of the hour to get a good viewing spot. That was the end of the tour guide.after the clock rang, we headed for the tower. Honestly, the guide provided little value. Prague is a very walkable city—everything is within walking distance and easy to find. You can purchase these tickets directly, bypassing the guide.

A unique piece of architecture.

Beautiful clock with lots of history. Tickets available to visit the inside (walk to the top) If you’re interested in the mechanics of it, It’s for you. On the hour every hour, the bells chime & there is a brief ‘visual display’.

Fab view!

A must see when in Prague, views from the top of the tower are fantastic! Half price tickets are available Tues-Sun in the first hour of opening. There was a queue to get in but moved very quickly.

The guide she was a very knowledgable and nice professional and knew how to get our attention. She had a good way to transmit her ideas.

Rather confusing atmosphere in that guide tells you to go to entrance and use your ticket to enter and then turns around and leaves. You find out inside that you don't have to wait in line but just walk to the entrance swipe machines and you are in . After which you simply wander around the inside of the building with no guide and no signage in English as to what your looking at. Not a great tour.

The tower tour is great, just buy ticket onsite

The introduction was a waste of time, especially having to meet at their office to check in ... the clock tour itself by official staff was really good! Just buy a ticket onsite!

Go in the morning and get the guided tour (free of charge) of the Clock and Hall. The first clock “performance” is at 9am. The tour is worth it

Prague’s Must-see clock

The astronomical clock is amazing and everyone going to Prague ought to invest time seeing it. Our guide was pleasant and her English skills effectively communicated with our multi-national group. She described what would happen when the clock struck the hour and timed her presentation extremely well. Our tickets also included entrance to the Old Town Hall for a self-guided tour of the facility. If you want a guided tour or to use the elevator to get to the top of the tower, you have to pay extra fees. I was fine without the guide or the elevator. Before you go, I recommend you research the history of the clock and anything to do with the mechanics behind the clock as the guide did not present much regarding how the clock works, merely that it requires periodic maintenance. Overall, this was a good tour and a solid investment in understanding one of Prague’s important landmarks.

The guide (I think Anna/Ana) - was very knowledgeable and gave so much interesting information about the Astronomical clocks design and history, explained all the features. Actually she made the whole speedy guide tour in advance the whole experience great :)

Time well spent in Prague

Friendly guide who got us to Clock and avoided long queue with skip the queue. A hassle free way to see city centre attraction.

Great for families with young children

This was a great tour for us as a family. It had a short intro about 20 mins which was perfect for our little children but we still learned a bit of high level history.

The view was fantastic and seeing the catacombs was also something I didn’t expect to see but was really glad I did.

Clock tower tour admin a bummer.

Should never have to chase tickets by going to Viator office to redeem voucher. Waste of time while traveling on vacation. Tour guides should have tickets and meet in front of item experiencing. Learned more about clock tower from Wikipedia than first tour guide. Guide didn’t have blue and white umbrella visible when trying to locate her. Had multiple calls with office in attempt to locate guide. Second guide who gave inside tour was knowledgeable and enthusiastic.

Amazing views from the clock tower.

Our lovely guide enlightened us on the history of the surrounding area and then of the clock itself. We were then allowed to enter and it was then a self guided tour, though there were staff all around, if we needed any assistance or information. The most amazing views were from the clock tower. The museum was wonderful, and an added bonus. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Clock tower was great, but you can save money by buying the tickets at the tower. The “introduction” was nothing more than you can read about online.

Amazing views

A must in Prague, the views are amazing. We hadn’t realised there was a lift, so if you struggle going going up the ramps pay extra for the lift.

Kind and knowledgeable

Julia, my guide was very nice and had very informative conversation with me about the Clock tower. Very kind. They were also kind to start my tour earlier because I arrived earlier than expected. Highly recommend.

A bit disappointing

I was expecting more from the tour, but it was only to start from their office, heading to the tower, standing in front of the tower till it rings for the clock then to give you the tickets and off you go, goodbye! The tour guide provided a few simple facts about the tower, and that was it! I suggest you buy the ticket inside the tower and get a brochure and it will tell you about all you need to know.

Must visit location

Very cool looking, definitely a good spot for some pictures. Busy area, a lot of shops and restaurants near the surrounding area.

Do miss watching the Astrology Clock Tower performance on the hour and the tour to the top of the tower

This is something that I really enjoyed and was a unique experience for Prague. In Old Town, there is a 600 year old clock that performs on the hour with a musical performance with puppets moving and a golden rooster crowing. I could not believe how unique the experience was for me. I really enjoyed it. After the show with the music and puppets, we toured the tower and enjoyed the view. My advice is to get there early in the morning life we did and avoid the crowds which will get large later in the afternoon. The views of the square is amazing and really has a nice view of the Old CIty. This is the one site you should not miss when you are in Prague. It is a lot of fun.

History explained

The tower was easy to get to on the elevators and the views were amazing. The guided tour was extremely knowledgeable and gave me insight on the function of the buildings and the history of its usage over the centuries. It was interesting to go into the basement too.

Much MUCh easier to buy...

Much MUCh easier to buy your tickets for the tower AND the lift at the tower. With victor, you have to find their location then be escorted back to the tower entrance, listen to a little history and you’re sent in your way. On your own. Which is fine if you’re told beforehand that you also need to purchase a lift ticket, for which you need to get in line. Unless you’re truly energetic and want to walk the spiral to the top. All in all, this was nothing more than a “middle man” to collect their share. Go straight to the tower to purchase your entrance and lift tickets.

Not worth the $

Overpriced ticket. The guide did a good explanation of the clock and then you can either come back for a separate tour of the rooms or go through yourself. You’re not allowed to see the medieval chambers without a guided tour. It sucked and was expensive

Must see

Great tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable. Enjoyed seeing the inside ofv the clock workings. The history of the town hall and underground was really good.

Worth it!

Highly recommend! The gal from thr company gave us a great introduction to Old Town Square and the Astronomical Clock. Then the tour inside was even better. Do yourself a favor and do the guided tour. It is the only way you can see the cellars and its included in your ticket. One thing to note though, if you don't want to walk up to the top of the tower from the 3rd floor, you will need to purchase a separate lift ticket.

Excellent visit. Excellent guide.

Excellent guide (Nicholas) for the 15 minute introduction. Easy to navigate to the ticket office. Nicholas took us into the astronomical clock and led us to the lift where he then left us. Lift to the 3rd floor then a spiral ramp upto the viewing deck. Great organisation. Would definitely do this again.
