Highly recommend

Michal was a wealth of knowledge and a lot of fun. We enjoyed his stories and he kept my teens entertained which is no easy task. Definitely heed the warning of claustrophobia in the silver mines. We did fine but it was tight and dark at times. Overall great experience!

A great way to spend a day.

Kutna Hora is an interesting town, with many centuries of history that has contributed to what the Czech Republic is today. Jack was very professional, yet personable. My wife and I came away with an overall understanding of the past eight centuries the Prague-Kutna Hora area.

Excellent Kutna Hora day tour by train

This was the best tour my wife and I have taken in any city by far. Jack(Honza) was our tour guide and from our first introductions with Honza, we knew it was going to be a fantastic tour. Honza was filled of incredible stories and history and he told them with great passion. Honza took care of all of the logistics of the tour and we never felt rushed during any of our visits in Kutna Hora. He encouraged questions and demonstrated that he loves his work. Really enjoyed the day Honza, thank you!

Great Value - Excellent Guide

This was an excellent choice for a day trip from Prague. Our guide Jack was incredibly organized and very personable. He was knowledgeable about Prague and the history of the Czech Republic, and he kept us entertained all day with stories. He timed everything perfectly for a smooth trip. Kutná Hora was a beautiful town and this was a unique, once-in-a-lifetime experience. We will use the same company/ guide again for future day trips.

Amazing Day Trip to Beautiful Kutna Hora

I highly recommend this tour. It’s a little pricey but worth the money. Our guide,Jack, made it extra special. He was very knowledgeable and explained the history of the medieval mining town of Kutná Hora. Please note that parts of the silver mine are tight and narrow. They provide a hard hat and you will need it! The Saint Barbara Cathedral is absolutely stunning. One of the best days during our Prague vacation.

Brilliant

We were lucky to have Jack (Honza) as our guide and just the two of us,which made the tour even better. It started with an hour train ride from Prague to Kutna Hora which was filled with Jack giving us a run down on Czech history which was very informative and interesting. The day was then filled with a complete tour of the town, Jack showing and telling us everything that we could have wanted to know. The day was broken up with a fantastic lunch at the local restaurant. Jack's knowledge came in handy again and his recommendations for lunch were spot on. It was a pity that in some places photos weren't allowed, but the rules are there for a reason and it will be a long time before l forget what I have seen. The day ended with a short fun quiz to see what we remembered then the hour ride back to Prague. Jack made sure that we knew which platform to catch our train from to get back to the hotel before leaving. A really exhausting well worth it day that I would not hesitate to do again, especially if Jack is our guide.

Jack is great!

We took the Kutna Hora day trip with Jack in October 2022 and were blown away by all the detail and care we were given. Jack is amazing and never tired of all our questions! Word of warning on the silver mine, they mean what they say about tight spaces, my husband is just under 6 and a half feet and really had to work at getting through one area and got a slight tear in his pants from the struggle.

Our tour Jack Honza was amazing! He was so informative and personable, and made us feel very comfortable in all our surroundings. He got to know us and we got to know him, which made all the historical facts he was sharing with us, a little less intimidating. Czech immersion - with a trip to Kutna Hora

This excursion was part of our 5 day stay in Prague, and glad it was! Our tour guide Honza was well prepared and a great advocate for the Czech life. We visited the Sedlec Ossuary, the Silver Mines, St. Barbara's church, and more. Understanding the significance of these sites was helped with the history background Honza provided. Czech history is full of interesting characters and events, and Honza was able to give us a lot of background that helped make the visit real. The Hussites, the Habsburgs, King Wenceslas and more - visiting these places and having the historical background is a treat. Some key benefits: Honza met us at our place of stay and helped with all of the tram/train/bus navigation. Seeing the key sites in Kutna Hora requires some moving around, and he had all of the schedules down pat - more time learning about the city, and less time figuring out how to get around. Bonus - lunch at a fabulous local restaurant. If you like seeing historical places and learning about the history/context of what you are visiting, this tour is for you.

Great guide, fabulous experience, highly recommend

Our guide Honza was incredibly knowledgeable about Kunta Hora as well as Czech history. We learned and saw far more than we expected. This trip, and our guide, exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended for anyone interested in history and insight to this lovely town.

Fantastic guide to a UNESCO site!

Our guide Andrey M. Was patient, knowledgeable, and very interesting. We learned more than We would have from a pamphlet and the interaction was easy going and enjoyable. He is knowledgeable about many subjects and sprinkled in the needed history and answered our questions cheerfully. The booking process was confusing receiving a confirmation for one day and then a reschedule. No fault of the guide. Kunta Hora is worth the trip from Prague. The Ossuary is unique and memorable. Best tour guide!

Honza (Jack) was a wealth of knowledge, and was very educational, yet, entertaining! We had a marvelous time, and he really enhanced our trip to Prague by showing us this special city of Kutna Hora! We enjoyed him so much we went on his half day tour through Historic Prague in the Jewish quarter the next day. Highly recommend!!

Amazing Tour

The whole city was amazing, lots of view and things to learn. Our tour guide Honza/Jack is superb and just smart guy. He told us about history of Kutna Hora and Prague which was pretty amazing. Never had a tour guide that's that passionate about his work. Was also able to connect to the tour and its history. Saw many pretty views and paintings. Definitely recommend! Will likely have a quiz at the end! But if you listen to your tour guide you'll ace it! Ask questions as well because its an interesting tour!

Charming town with rich history

What an amazing surprise when Jack was our tour guide again ! We took a train to Kutna Hora and along journey , Jack educated us on area. Kutna Hora is beautiful, charming little town. There is so much history there and highly recommend taking this tour from Prague . Jack was very informative and even had books , maps and materials to tell stories of the area . Even though it was a rainy day, we still had a fabulous day. Jack went above and beyond so that we had an amazing experience .

Best tour guide we’ve ever had.

Honza (Jack) was the most educated, informative guide we have ever experienced in our years of European travel. We now understand Czech history like we never imagined - BUT in a fun, applicable way in light of its place in world history. Kunta Hora is a wonderful look into ancient European history and Jack brought it to life for us.

Excellent tour

Honza (Jack) made this a great personalized tour. He was very accommodating for us slow walkers. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. You will see many beautiful sights and learn a lot along the way. Honza was a great teacher as he quizzed us at the end of the tour, and surprisingly, we remembered most of what he explained to us throughout the day. Everything about this day trip to Kutna Hora from Prague was fantastic. Our guide, Honza, took care of all the trains and busses, so we were able to simply relax and enjoy the day. Honza's friendly demeanor and clear enthusiasm for Czech and local history made this one of the best tours I have taken in recent memory. Lunch was at an incredible restaurant with traditional Czech cuisine and a private garden with a stunning view of St. Barbara's Cathedral. The tour is a fair amount of walking but nothing strenuous and very manageable with comfortable walking shoes. I will always fondly remember this private tour of Kutna Hora because of Honza's remarkable gift of bringing the history of this magical place to life.

Kutna Hora Private Day Trip

We just finished the private day tour with Honza (Jack) (me and my Mother). He is friendly, courteous and extremely knowledgeable about Prague and the surrounding area. He made the day enjoyable, was helpful and full of information. This is a great way to learn a lot of history and see some neat sites. He takes care of all of the transportation and tickets so it is very comfortable and easy. He has great English and does a good job explaining everything. Highly recommend Honza. Would definitely book again and recommend.

We enjoyed ourselves.

We had a tour with Mike and had a great time, he is a fantastic tour guide. The only thing I wished was different is more time for photo taking and shopping in the souvenir shops. I felt rushed with just 3 minutes to choose a souvenir - 10 would have been perfect. Other than that, Mike had everything organized and took care of every detail, it was a very stress free day. Thanks Mike for a great time!

Best tour guide in Prague

This tour was amazing from start to finish. Our guide Mike (Michal) was fantastic. He was friendly, knowledgeable and gave us so many stories and facts. We got to experience everything that Kutna Hora has to offer. He reserved an amazing place for lunch as well where I had one of my favourite meals in Prague. A delicious dill soup called kulajda. Thank you Mike for an incredible day!

Exceptional guide, exceptional experience!

Honza was an exceptional guide who was so knowledgeable and really gauged our tour based on our interests. Everything was perfect including his suggestions for our lunch.

Got way more than our money’s worth!

We booked this all day tour not really knowing what to expect. We were met by our tour guide Honza (Jack) at our hotel. He gave us a complete briefing about our day and we proceeded to the train station. A couple trains and a bus ride, and we were in Kutna Hora. We toured the Ossuary, St Barbara’s Cathedral, St James Church, had a great lunch, and then took the 90-minute Silver Mine tour (not for the claustrophobic 😉). Not only was Honza’s knowledge of the area and it’s history awesome, but his time-management and pace was phenomenal. He had everything prepaid and reserved so we basically just walked in thru all the ticket gates, etc. I would highly recommend this trip if you have a day to spare. And, if possible, request the “tour guide extraordinaire” - Honza.

Great day out away from Prague

Our guide Martin met us at our hotel, we took the tram to a stop nearby the train station and everything was taken care of from then, train tickets, bus tickets and admission tickets to the 3 churches we visited. Martin was very knowledgeable and was easy to get along with. The lunch (at our expense - but we knew that when we booked) was delicious, we were so glad we tried a local dish. All the sites we visited were beautiful, it’s a very pretty town, but special mention has to go to the bone chapel - it’s was simply stunning! No photography allowed here anymore but postcards were available to buy at the small desk inside. When we returned to Prague, Martin ensured we knew where we were and how to get back to our hotel. All in all, a great day out of the city.

A Very Worthwhile Tour

This tour was terrific, as was our guide, Jack. We very much appreciated Jack’s extensive knowledge, enthusiasm, and charming personality. The whole itinerary was enjoyable: cathedral visits, a fascinating tour of the ossuary, and a rare opportunity to go down into a silver mine. A great day, with a bonus feature of traveling by train between Prague and Kutna Hora. Highly recommended!

Best tour of three different companies!

Wow, incredible day! I went with an old friend who loves all things history! Me on the other hand automatically runs from boring history. I think Michal should be a professor at a university because somehow I retained historical knowledge today!! I didn't realize my mind had accepted this knowledge until I started posting pics on social media along with interesting facts to my pics! Wonderful guide and awesome experience

Michal was our guide and he was super! So much knowledge but he had a wonderful personality and was very thoughtful since he was dealing with some crazy ladies from Texas. I would recommend Michal to anyone who wants to explore Prague and the surrounding area. He talked to us about the history near our hotel and all the way to the train station. He walked us through the history of Kutna Hora before we got to the site and then showed us the important AND quirky things about the town. Again, I was very impressed with him and if/when we come back, I will use him again!

Kutna Hora by mass transit!!

Knowledgeable and friendly tour guide. We did a lot of walking all over Kutna Hora even with the metro, high speed train, bus, another local bus, then train back. We managed to do over six miles of walking!! Kutna Hora is a pretty little town with lots of hills. St Barbara’s church was one of the prettiest I’ve seen in Europe. The restaurant the tour guide took us to for lunch was wonderful and cozy inside.

Something very different

Even though the tour was beautiful, started out being a problem, our guide did met us at our hotel but then we had a long walk to the main railway station, had I been told how far it was instead of not far, I would have caught a taxi and met them there, being a senior and an asthmatic it wasn’t a good start, After a pleasant train trip, we started walking again, mainly uphill and it was 36 degrees, the Bone Church was amazing, would have liked more time around there, we did a couple more churches, before hopping on a local bus to do lunch at your own expense, a nice break from the walking, a couple of us opted out of the silver mine tour, starting with climbing down 200 steps and some tricky areas to get through, the group that went enjoyed the tour, the rest of us enjoyed the cool and drinks st the restaurant. More walking and we ended at Cathedral of St. Barbara another WOW view. Luckily we caught another local bus back to the train, for return trip. Our ladies who were counting steps walked, it was just 10 kms for the day, our feet and legs were aching 😄 Check if it’s a walking tour, apparently a lot of people get an unpleasant surprise.

Nice tour

This is a very nice tour. Michal our guide, was excellent, very kind and knowledgeable. The train ride was good, although it was a very hot day and no air conditioner. The walking tour was very informative. The bone church was very interesting and unique. Kutna Hora was very nice overall. The lunch was really good and the place was really an excellent choice. We did not like the silver mine. All the rest, was OK and recommended if you would like to see more than Prague.

Excellent trip and excellent guide. There were unavoidable train delays and our guide stayed longer to ensure we didn't miss anything. Definitely worth visiting!

Well recommended. Private tour is the way to go- great interaction with tour guide Martin. Train ride very efficient and Martin used the 1 hr to review history of Kutna Hora. Silver mine tour is highly recommended.
