Full-Day Trip from Prague to Cesky Krumlov

Highly recommend

This tour is really good value for money. It was even better than I expected. Accompanied by a very knowledgeable guide, the tour provides a nice balance between a guided experience and free time. The trip, whilst a fair distance from Prague, was comfortable with a very safe driver.

Failure

We did not go: Viator took our booking including hotel pick up but did not confirm this with the operator who were expecting us at the central pick up point and would not come to our hotel.

Day trip to Czesky Krumlov

It was a wonderful trip. It was a small group and very pleasant conversation. The guide was knowledgeable. The views were fantastic. Well worth the money.

A wonderful day in the country!

The city of Cesky Krumlov is quaint and well worth visiting. The castle walk and view was incredible. The guide was very knowledgeable and answered all questions. I'd recommend this trip to others that are looking for a bus trip out to the country.

Great Holiday tour

Our host Albert was superior along with our kind safe driver. The bus was comfortable and Albert was explicit in informing us of the the plans of the day. He was informative in the history of our tour. Enjoyed our day immensely. Thank you. Worth the fee.

Cesky Krumlov

Narration on tour was disappointing. The sound system in the vehicle has issues with inadequate sound levels and apparently some non-working speakers. This was coupled with a guide with a difficult accent and monotonous delivery. He was not a story teller. The drive to Cesky Krumlov seemed timed so the monologue could be completed as we were passed on both sides by countless vehicles traveling much faster. At the destination, our guide gave us a quick tour while admonishing us not to stop and take pictures because we would have opportunities for that later. After a quick walk through town, he bought us museum entrance tickets and told us that we were on our own for the rest of our time there. Our group of 14 people as a whole were disappointed in the format of the day and the skills of our guide.

Disappointing

The tour was excellent and beautiful. Great history about the castle and the town. However, if I had known about this tour guide, I would have cancelled. He had a good disposition but his English was horrible and we couldn't understand most of it. We paid for a tour in English not for gibberish language.

Good trip.

Nice trip. A bit long, 2.5 hrs each way. Guide was knowledgeable. The bus was a bit uncomfortable, could have been a bigger one for such a long drive.

Not the best tour

The city of Cesky Krumlov was beautiful but in retrospect we wished we had gone by ourselves. Our guide seemed to be speed reading from a script. He was hard to understand and didn’t exhibit any passion. Once we got to Cesky Krumlov, he rushed off as soon as he got us physically situated in the castle area, leaving us on our own the remainder of the visit. There was too much time for what there was to see.

Amazing and incredible views

The full day trip to visit Bohemian and Saxon Switzerland national park is absolutely amazing. Our guide Sam is very friendly and careful, made everyone feels so comfortable . When we finished trip to city centre, I lost iPhone in street. He spent lots time to help me found my phone. I couldn’t thank him enough. I highly recommend this trip with bohemian adventures!!!

Beautiful Cesky Krumlov

Cesky Krumlov is a beautiful Unesco site and the architecture is spectacular. The drive to the town provided an opportunity to see the Czech country side. We thought that the tour of the Palace was part of the tour, it was disappointing to find out when we got there that it was not included.

I am not recommending...

I am not recommending this trip only because there was no free time other than the lunch time. The departure time should have been at 6 not at 4 in the evening as there was no time to have a walk alone in the village and castle grounds. Other than that our guide had a very good knowledge of places visited and history of Czech republic and Cesky Krumlov. And Cesky Krumlov is a very nice place to visit.

Cezky Krumlov a beautiful town

Albert is great, he has a good sense of humor. He seems to know very well the history of Czeky Krumlov. The town is beautiful, you feel like went back in time but with our modern amenities

The views were amazing. Lunch by the water was peaceful and beautiful. I would definitely recommend this day tour for a day away from the city.

Magical

Amazing trip, overall the experience was great, it wasn’t too far from Prague. We had an amazing tour guide with good food recommendations.

Good tour- wouldn’t do castle/tower add on.

Happy we went but the guide was a little dull and monotone. We booked the meetup point and no castle entry and just paid for the castle upon arriving. If we did it again, I wouldn’t pay for the castle museum and the tower climb. Just not worth it in our opinions but overall we are happy we visited this town!

Great Experience!

Our guide Albert and driver Peter were great! The city was charming. The village was quaint and the people were very nice!

Skip this tour company -

The trip was absolutely horrible. We were 4 middle aged us travelers and were ready to exit the tour after 15 minutes. The tiny bus was cramped. Too many people for the bus. The tour guide on the bus, tried to narrate for 2 hours between English & Spanish but it was so broken that you could barely understand anything she provided. Once we arrived at the destination, castle was closed, very small Town and not much to do for 4 hours. Bus arrived late, and the bus driver was smoking pot outside the bus. Furthermore, the bus did not use the bus stop off: pick up rather a random school parking lot. I assume they do not have permit or did not want to pay the fee for parking. Our tour had 14 people on it and more than 1/2 were equally unhappy.

Lovely but missed the castle gardens

It was a lovely day trip to a beautiful place on a comfortable bus. Unfortunately, visiting the castle garden was not part of the itinerary, which I wasn't aware of. I was really hoping to visit the castle garden and didn't realize we wouldn't be doing that as part of the castle visit. It's a big shame to go all the way there and miss those beautiful gardens. Also, the guide spoke constantly for the first hour and a bit. I wish there was more quiet time on the bus on the way there.

Top quality outing.

Our destination was exceptionnal. Our guide, Vera, was knowledgable and very interesting with lots of information. All in all an excellent day. Highly recommended.

Not to be missed

Guide and driver were both very punctual and professional. Information shared was great and informative both in current affairs in the drive over as well as in Cesky Krumlov. The town is absolutely beautiful and well preserved without losing its charm and character. We were a small group and we clicked well together which made the day fly by and more fun. I can easily see why Cesky Krumlov is the 2nd most visited town in Czech Republic. Not to be missed

Gustav was very informative and thorough ensuring we saw and heard about all the sights on the tour. Full day started with convenient pickup at hotel and guided tour through castle and streets of Cresky Krumlov. Even though we accidentally left the tour group, Gustav found us in town and showed us around. Maybe a bit too much information at times but would highly recommend the tour.

What a beautiful town!

It was a small group of 19 people and everything went well except the traffic on the way back, still we got back to Prague around 7:30. George the guide was very nice and they led us a lot about the history of the country. I especially appreciated the fact that they called me and guided me to the meeting place when I got lost. Everyone was kind despite of the delay even if it was only 5 minutes. Nice trip and another beautiful town in Czechia!! Highly Recommend it!

Cesky Tour was lousy!

I have traveled and toured for years. My experience with the Cesky tour guide was horrible. He did not introduce himself or the bus driver. He did not speak into the microphone and when we could hear him, he had a monotone delivery of the script he was reading. He threatened to leave 2 gals who were waiting in line in a bathroom arguing that they were probably at the bus. He finally went back to the public bathroom and found them wondering where everyone went and how to find the bus. He was downright rude! BTW we were crammed into a small bus. Every seat was taken and it should not be used for long road trips. Paid a $137.00 for a painful experience.

Not really worth the time or money

It’s a super long day and be aware you cannot have any mobility issues. It’s a very pretty location but a total of 6 hrs in a bus was for me not worth the price or time. I did appreciate the company picking me up and dropping me off at where I was staying. I did find the guide to be knowledgeable but a bit of a jerk

Beautiful city

Beautiful city and perfect weather. Guide was OK, but kept repeating himself several times. Would not advertise wifi on transportation when driver said it really didn’t work. Only a few USB ports worked. Luckily the seat across from us was empty and had a working USB port to keep phone charged.

Long time in a bus with tour guide talking at a rapid fire pace

The village of Cesky Krumlov is darling - well worth a visit. But this tour was not for us. The guide seemed nice enough. It is a 3 hour ride in a van with tiny seats (that's three hours EACH WAY) and the guide spoke English well but talked as though he was relaying facts he had memorized and was being timed on how quickly he could get it all out. Not very fun to listen to or particularly engaging.

Great small group trip to Cesky Krumlov

I travelled with wife and another couple and we found the guide for the day Vera to be very knowledgeable about the history of the town and also provide history of the Czech Republic. Hotel pick up and drop off was great and on time.

A FASCINATING TRIP!

The tour was perfectly organized! Oleg, our tour guide, was excellent! Very knowledgeable and with excellent organization skills. He gave us great tips on how to get the most out of our tour. We appreciate the free time, which allowed us to explore town, have lunch and even do some shopping. Thank you!

Fascinating day trip from Prague

The guide was very good and bus very comfortable. I think the information about the trip, including selections, needs to be clearer. For example: -Selection of castle museum tour was not clear especially when it says “all inclusive” -Hotel pick up option was not clear. When I enquired of the tour provider they told me I would need to cancel and rebook to take that option. - While it did not affect us, others on the trip thought lunch was included. There was a man on our trip who was very immobile and had not realised there was so much walking and steps involved. He required assistance throughout which was offered by all the participants but it slowed our tour down and reduced our free time. The travel time if more than 2 hours each way should also be explicit.

Too many languages

The guide spent a lot of time translating English and French and this took away from the tour . The tour company should separate yours into languages. The guide seemed to spend more time with the 2 french guests than with the 5 English ones

Comfortable and easy access to an amazing little town

This experience is part guided tour and part do your own thing. Kind of great for us as we get the opportunity to hear about where we're going and then a short guided walk through part of the town and to the castle but also time to wander on our own. The ride on the bus versus the train is a nice option, especially to get some history along the route there and back. The town itself is beautiful and should not be missed when in Prague. If you can swing an overnight here, that is likely a preferable option but if you only have a day, this is great. It takes much of the work out of figuring out your own transport. A very good option.

Disastrous tour

Guide was dismissive & rude. Gave us no information and when she did it was ludicrous - in the castle she said the wooden furniture was very old and thus very expensive. I don’t think she was qualified to do a tour in the castle. We were delayed leaving because driver had parked bus in illegal spot and had altercation with police - I have pictures of the incident. We paid a lot for this trip and it was ruined by terrible guide and driver. I will be claiming a refund

Cesky Krumlov Day Trip. Awesome!

Guide was very knowledgeable and fun too! Driver was great and safe driving . The castle was well worth the trip. It felt like a fairy tale!

Pot luck!

After a delay of 20 minutes waiting for a group of 11 the tour bus set off - thankfully with A/C but after an hour broke down at the service station due to a flat battery. The driver then went to buy some jump leads and after a further 30 minutes we set off again. The tour guide knew his stuff and was patient with the noisy 5 young children who were part of the group of 11. When we arrived the guide and the rest of the group were hassled by the group of 11 wanting the departure time to be delayed by an hour and a half due to the hold ups (to which they’d contributed) George the guide contacted the tour company and an extension of 45 mins was agreed. Cesky Krumlov was of course packed with tourists - it is an interesting place to visit but perhaps out of season when people aren’t packed like sardines in the streets and numerous souvenir shops. I also thought on our arrival after a 2 and a half hour journey a drink/ restaurant time would have been better first before trooping us from the bus for a half hour walk up the streets to look round the tower at the castle. It meant by the time we went down to get a drink and something to eat we didn’t have time to go back up to the gardens at the back of the castle. We had no complaints about the tour guide who I think was rightly aggrieved by the attitude of some of his group and by the end had given up caring.

Definitely worth the price!

We had a great day in Cesky Krumlov! Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, she also gave us a lot of good tips and recommendations. Cesky Krumlov is a beautiful little village worth the visit. Would definitely recommend!

Take public transport.

I took the transport and guide option only. The transport was comfortable and convenient. Not much else to say for it.

Day trip from Prague to Cesky Krumlov

Very different from other historical sites. Amazing architecture and highly recommend. Oleg was guide and very informative as well as cordial. Enjoyed lunch by River. Shopped for moldavite and garnet jewelry

Fantastic castle town and a great tour!

Our guide, Gustav, was energetic, detailed and helpful. Though we had free time after a guided tour and lunch, he stayed with us because we needed to back track to best viewing spots for more pics. He also took us to special locations for special sights. He pre-ordered lunch. We had vegetarian lunch that we got try local cuisine prepared differently and quite tasty. The ambience and staff are also excellent. Overall, the beautiful castle town was of good value and a place not to be missed. It's a bilingual tour, English and Italian. It'd be better if it's not so the guide can speak more slowly and had more dialogues with us. However, we enjoyed the Italian couple on our tour immensely. Highly recommend this tour!

Great History Tour

Great trip!

George was knowledgeable and thoughtful. I think Czech is my 30th country in about 50 years. I usually do one day tour whenever I visit. I’m glad I did this one. It was a cold January day, but the company was cheerful and Cesky Krumlov was lovely.

Overall great experience! I went during the winter, and it was nice to walk around with smaller crowds. It felt like I had the whole town to myself!

Fascinating tour and amazing scenery in Cesky Krumlov

Definitely worth the price. Time-saving in terms of hotel pick-ups and direct drive to cesky krumlov (travelling by train could be taking more time and energy). Plus the professional tour guide which is passionate and helpful all the time.

Nice day trip to Cesky Krumlov

The tour is great to spend few hours in the town to visit the castle, museum and town center. The tour guide is showed and shared us valuable information to the town. I would recommend to exclude the the lunch to reduce the price and make everyone to get the lunch during the free time.
