Full Day Cesky Krumlov Private Tour from Prague

A town and a castle worth visiting!

A full day at a picturesque town. It’s a popular destination from both Czech Republic and Austria. So it could feel a bit crowded but it’s really worth it. Our driver, Dima, was superb! Always on time (we had him twice), great conversations. And always helpful. The town is about 2 hours to the south of Prague. Our local guide, Maria, took us right away on a 2-hour walking tour of the castle and town. Then we got about 3 hours of free time to explore on our own. The history of the castle and town is complex and interesting. Thank you Dima and Maria for a lovely time.

A Day in a Fairytale

The day was fantastic. Cesky Krumlov is so beautiful, and Petyr was a great guide. I highly recommend both.

Beautiful location but the tour was very average

Beautiful location, but the tour felt very rushed. Although it was a private tour the driver/guide did not attempt to personalise the tour. He rushed us through the town without giving us time to stop and appreciate anything. There was no chance to explore and take it in. He rushed us into sights that he thought were good, but would not have been our choice to see if we had been given the chance to have input into the day. It was not necessary for him to accompany us around the museum and then stop and read every sign (that were in English so we could read them ourselves). It would have been much more pleasant if we had been allowed to explore on our own for a while. We were not even given time to look in the gift shops in the town. The driver was polite, but not professional as he drank alcohol at lunch and then drove us back to Prague.

Great visit to Cesky Krumlov

Petr was an excellent guide and we had a great trip to Cezky Krumlov. Really enjoyed the flexibility and convenience of the private tour, and being able to spend time in the places of most interest to us. Highly encourage anyone to go and see this beautiful village and castle, and learn a little bit more about this beautiful country.

A lovely Day

The scenery, particularly in Cesky Krumlov was very lovely. Unfortunately, it started to rain during lunch time. But our Guide Tomas managed to keep us in good spirits and interested. He was very nice and knowledgeable. I would recommend this tour we had a great time.

Best guide ever!

The best thing about the trip was exceptional knowledge of our guide. Vaclav was able to give us information on the drive from Prague, and on the way home. The history, the history of the area was exceptional, current information on the country, politics, and general information about the world was more information I said, Jessica Krumlov than we ever could have received from books. we have been traveling for 40 years and he might be the best died that we have ever had anywhere. Czech Krumlov is a definite place to visit.

It was a wonderful experience provided by Lucytours, we had originally booked this tour with Czechia-Tours a couple of weeks in advance but the evening before the tour they cancelled on us. Fortunately I was able to book it with Lucytours within an hour after and although it was a little stressful I’m glad in the way that we couldn’t have asked for a better driver/tour guide that Lucytours provided for us specially on such a short notice. Our guide Pavel was courteous, accommodating and very knowledgeable, a true professional guide. From the time he picked us up at our hotel he kept us engaged with interesting facts and historical events on almost every place we drove by or stopped to visit . His deep knowledge and amiable manners shows how proud he is of the rich history of his country Czechia . The highlights of the tour was of course UNESCO heritage site Cesky Krumlov . A fairytale inspiring place on its own right with a long list of historic events and characters that have had great significance on the history of Central Europe all this explained in an engaging but not overwhelming way by our guide Pavel. Our best meal on this vacation was on this tour as well as he took us to a wonderful family restaurant within the castle area. A great experience with Lucy Tours

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our day in Cesky Krumlov with our superb guide, Patrik. Patrik was knowledgeable, and entertaining and communicated incredibly well. Through conversation and by answering our questions. We learned so much about the history and culture of the Czech Republic. Patrik is a personable young man who knows his stuff! The only thing about this...

The only thing about this tour is that there is a lot of walking that they don’t worn you about before the tour. But our tour guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable

We had a fantastic time...

We had a fantastic time on our trip to Cesky Krumlov. Our guide, Roman, not only had a comprehensive knowledge of the area but was also a wonderful person. The best part of the trip was that we were given plenty of time to explore the entire area at our own pace. Additionally, the castle tour included in the itinerary was a delightful surprise. We highly recommend this tour to anyone who plans on visiting Cesky Krumlov.

The best

Peter was extremely knowlegable. He explained everything we asked with fact and smile all the time. Our 2 hours journey from Prague to Cesky Krumlov was perfect, enjoy and happening. Hard to believe, but the second day of touring was even better than the first!!!

We stopped in Prague for four days before continuing onto Budapest for a river cruise. I worked with Lucy from Lucy Tours to secure three separate days of tours both inside and outside of Prague. She could not have been more helpful, friendly or professional. I’ve already left a review for our full day tour in Prague (which was amazing…check out my review) and the next day we had a full day Cesky Krumlov Private tour from prague. Our driver/guide was Roman, who was stellar and exactly on time (even though we were slightly late given a failure in our alarm clock!). He couldn’t be more understanding! And it was brilliant, professional, fun, entertaining and a wonderfully safe driver. Our tour was brilliant and the history that Roman provided was exceptional and really created a beautiful picture of the sights we were seeing. When we go back to Prague, Lucy Tours will be the first person I call. Simply, there is no better tour company in the Czech Republic! Ask for Roman!!

Story Book Town

Cesky Krumlov is a beautiful place, well worth the full day tour from Prague. Our Lucy Tours guide, Lenka, did an excellent job guiding us throughout the town. She told us the history, pointed out the different architecture periods, discussed the current economic status as well as the country side from and to Prague/Cesky Krumlov. She also told us Prague's more recent past: the Hitler regime invasion and the communist years. Czech Republic has great history and some it not that old. Thank you Lucy Tours and Lenka for a great day!

Great day in Cesky Krumlov

A great day in Cesky Krumlov. So much to see you could spend a couple days. Our guide was very knowledgeable and insured a wonderful tour. The tour bus was very comfortable and the tour compa y was great to work with. Recommend the tour for anyone.

Great, comfortable private tour with knowledgeable guide

Our guide Lenka was very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. Her car was comfortable and clean. On the way to Cesky Krumlov, she pointed out important sights and gave us background history of Prague and the Czech Republic. Once we arrived, we went at a good but manageable pace through the grounds and the City. She gave us great information as we went along. She arranged a tour for us in the Palace in English. She also made a reservation for lunch for us at a very good restaurant with a view. We highly recommend this tour and tour guide guide Lenka.

An excellent, extensive and thorough tour from a highly professional, flexible and customer focused organisation.

This was an excellent tour of Cesky Krumlov, Karlstejn Castle and various other sites of interest along the way. My email communications with Lucy were efficient, her responses were swift and clear and she was able to extend the tour to meet my needs at short notice. There was a real willingness to accommodate my personal objectives including a flexible programme and making the most of my time to see as much as possible. My guide, Susan, spoke excellent English, shared her extensive knowledge and made my tour both enjoyable and memorable. She put in a very long day with minimal refreshment (as I had requested) along the way. She was great company and I thoroughly enjoyed her company and our conversations. I would certainly use this company if I was ever in Prague again. I have no hesitation in recommending Lucy’s Tours for anyone who wants to make the most of their visit to the Czech Republic.

Great experience.

Great tour by Michael, enjoyed the trip immensely. Recommended a great place for lunch by the river as well as a nice beer break before heading back to Prague. Knew the history of the area well and learned a lot. Lucy Tours has been great. 3rd tour with them this week!

Underwhelmed!

I paid for a full day (9 hour) tour of Cesky Krumlov with 5 hours to be spent at the site. Our day started with our driver leaving before we got downstairs due to some misunderstanding with the office. We finally met up with him an hour later and got to Cesky Krumlow around 11 am. We spent only three hours at the town, did not get the lunch we were scheduled to have, nor did we have a real tour guide. Our guide was more of a driver, with no real knowledge of Cesky Krumlow other than what he read off of Google and Wikipedia. Though he told us some stories of his family's personal history with the Czech Republic, it was less than I expected.

The castle was amazing....

The castle was amazing. The driver was excellent. Great trip. Roman was was extremely accommodating and he has a vast knowledge about Cesky krumlov

A must see while visiting Prague!

Susanna was our tour guide on this trip. She did an awesome job driving all day plus reviewing historic events along the way! She knew the back way into the castle which help save time! Absolute must do tour if you have an extra day to spare while in Prague!

I took this tour with Jan - who was awesome! Very knowledgeable and provide good interesting historical context. Compared to other large group tour, this Lucy tour (private tour) is probably the preferred one as the guide can tailor to you directly, and probably excellent choice for small group / family. I personally enjoyed this tour which was about ~9hours round trip. The main attraction - Cesky Krumlov consists of the actual castle and its surrounding/nearby medieval village. You get to go in the castle (admission fee included as part of your tour), explore amazing picturesque views. Then you can get to walk around the village for souvenirs, more pictures and have awesome lunch. We did drive by Cesky Budejovice, the originator of Budweiser beer which was ok, other than that not much special. I completed 3/31/2022 so not much other tourists there on this day so was a pleasant and private treat. Overall, I absolutely enjoyed this tour guided by Jan and would highly recommend any private tour arranged by Lucy tour! Do this one!

Beautiful little town

What a great tour! It's a three hour drive from Prague to Cesky Krumlov but what a great experience with Jan our tour guide who made even the drive fun and interesting. We ate an amazing lunch at a restaurant that Jan recommended to us, which is not included, but was worth every penny. Jan guided us through the city and not only gave us excellent recommendations for Prague but for Vienna and Budapest that we were going to visit later in the trip.

TWO private tours-excellent!

Since this was my husband’s and my first trip to Prague, we decided to take a couple of tours, and since I have a back issue, we chose private tours, since we wouldn’t have to keep up a fast pace. Our first tour was a city tour and our guide was Dasha and Radek was our driver. Both of them were awesome! Great sense of humor, knowledge of the city, and wonderful personalities. We visited Prague Castle, St Vitus Cathedral, the Old Town Square, the Astrological Clock (which we got to in time for the hourly “show”), and more. We learned a lot from them about Prague and its history. Plus they were very thoughtful of my back and avoided most of the hill climbing by driving to the top areas. The second tour was with Michal to Cesky Krumlov. It’s a 2 to 2 1/2 hour drive each way, with very nice scenery along the way. This is a medieval town with a castle on a large piece of property with beautiful gardens, awesome architecture, the Moldau/Vitava River, shops, restaurants, and churches and incredible views, plus the highlight for me was the moat around the castle with three bears in it! Adorable big bears that were playing with each other in the water. The fall colors of the trees highlighted much of the scenery, and Michal was very knowledgeable and friendly and spoke excellent English. He explained a great deal of the history of the area. And he was also very considerate of me regarding the hills. We also had lunch there and Michal treated us to some hot chocolate. We recommend LucyTours very highly.

Take this tour!

I highly recommend taking a full day tour to Cesky Krumlov! Patrick, our guide, is knowledgeable about everything Czech - he provided so much information about the areas' sights & history. More importantly, Patrick is skilled at reading the people he's with to personalize the tour - on our way to Cesky Krumlov we made a stop at Budweiser Budvar which we enjoyed. Spend a day away from Prague & experience the beauty that Czech Republic has to offer!

Excellent English guide with fantastic local knowledge

We had a couple of days in hand while in Prague and after a quick research online Lucy Tours came out top trumps in terms of being reasonably priced English language tours and with fantastic rating from users. Our driver cum tour guide Roman was an epitome of what a good guide should comprise of. Not only did he know all about the popular tourist attractions he also entertained us with information about the various landmarks en route. Roman drove us to Cesky Krumlov in his modern and comfy 8 seater. The long drive was never boring as we traveled through beautiful little villages along the countryside and made regular toilet and refreshment pit stops as we had 2 young children. Along with local sightseeing we also indulged in local delicacies and tasted some of the numerous local beers all recommended by Roman. We were so impressed with Roman and the tour to Cesky Krumlov that we booked another tour to Vienna the very next day! We would highly recommend Lucy tours if you are looking form something interesting and more personalized all at competitive rates!

What a fabulous tour. Lucy tours was wonderful and Tomas our guide and Chris our driver we're exceptional. Tomas was very knowledgeable and so helpful in making some arrangements for us.we had changed our itinerary a little and they couldn't have been nicer. Without question we had a fabulous day and so glad we booked with Lucie.

Chesky Krumlov Private Tour

My husband I just returned from a delightful European trip which included 3.5 days in Prague. We are independent travellers and so we rely on good local tour companies when we arrive in a city. In Prague the tour company that we used was Lucy Tours, recommended to us by the Cosmopolitan Hotel. 1. Chesky Krumlov: Jan Pechac was our guide on an all day trip to Chesky Krumlov. He really knew the history of Prague and the Czech Republic which he shared with us as we drove to Chesky Krumlov. We had told him that while the main purpose of the tour was to see Chesky Krumlov, we really wanted to see some of the countryside and small towns. Therefore, Jan drove us to Chesky Krumlov via a pretty direct “highway” route BUT the return route was through many, many small towns. It was just perfect. The town is so incredible in that it is as if you were just dropped to another time. Not sure it could have been planned but an hour or so of rafting on the Vltava river would have been really fun. Oh well, guess we need to go back. REALLY RECCOMEND this tour and this tour company.

Best Tour We Took In Prague

We took 3 tours in Prague, and the one we did with Lucy Tours was the best by far. Our tour guide was Jan Pechac, and he was excellent. Answered all our questions and pointed out many items to do or see we would never have thought of. He even answered questions from previous days tours we had taken with other company's that they could not answer. I wish we had hired Lucy Tours for all our tours.
