Helena was a great tour guide. She was full of interesting info and recommendations. Tour very nicely spaced out to allow some time between stops. Food was great! Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience with a great guide!

Fantastic tour. Our guide Helena was absolutely lovely, very knowledgeable, and took us to the best spots. Despite the pouring rain we had an amazing time, great bites of all different varieties, some delicious local beers and a lot of side stops for brief history lessons along the way. We ended up going back to some of the stops the next day! Tour is also great for kids. Very accommodating! Highly recommend!!

Prague Tour with a Great Guide

Eating Europe’s “Eating Prague Food Tour” resulted in a relaxing and filling tour of a brewery, restaurants, and gingerbread shop. It combined good food with historical sites and descriptions, local knowledge of the area, and beer and wine to go with our food. Our guide, Margaret, was knowledgeable and helpful in every way possible. She even recommended a restaurant for an upcoming lunch we were planning with friends and made the reservation for us. We could not be more pleased with her help and the tour.

Enjoyed the food and learned about the food culture

Our guide Marquetta (sp?) was delightful, knowledgeable and engaging with our small group of 8. 6 of us were visiting from the US, 2 from Germany. The variety of types of restaurants and that they served authentic Czech food made the afternoon very unique and delicious. There’s quite a bit of walking but the pace was fine for us all. Wear comfortable walking shoes cause Prague has cobblestone walks everywhere. Highly recommend this tour to get to know the culture and food from a local! She even gave us tips on where to eat dinner on our remaining nights and where to exchange cash.

Terrific Authentic Food Tour

We had a wonderful tour guide named Helena who started out on a beer producing boat serving our first tasting. As we moved from place to place Helena filled us in on the history and the landmarks surrounds the different food stops. We all enjoyed it immensely!!

Outstanding tour. Marketa was so incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about her city. She explained each dish with great detail. Each dish was delicious. What a great experience. Wonderful way to get to know Prague on your first day.

Excellent tour, excellent guide

it was a great tour. There are so many amazing restaurants in Prague but our Guide Zach took us to the off the beaten track hidden gems and wow what a great Tour. Zach’s own personal background and how he became a to be a tour guide in Prague from growing up in the USA lends to his passion for history and people. The best guide we have had in three countries.

Fun and filling!

We had the best experience with Zach as our food tour guide through Prague. He took us to spots that seemed popular with locals, not just with tourists. He also took us through scenic small streets that made it seem like we were not tourists ourselves but more "in the know." The menu and tastings throughout the day were delicious and plentiful from a soft cheese specialty to wine and soup to the main course and dessert! Though Zach is not originally from Czech Republic he knew a lot about the country and the dishes we were having. All in all it was one of my favorite experiences of a 12 day trip through the region!

A Perfect taste O' Prague off thr beaten path.

Eva was delightful and like a family member sharing her country's history and family culture while leading us "off the beaten paths" to delicious spots to eat & drink. Especially enjoyed the homemade Gingerbread shop and the wine tasting: cozy and perfect! Highly recommend this experience!

So much fun, well worth it

Zach was great as a historical, cultural, and food guide. The tour was a blast and gave great insights into Czech and Prague culture, as well as a list of places to return to and new places to see. Zach was personable, funny, and very knowledgeable - a natural teacher. Would definitely recommend doing this tour early in your visit to Prague!

Eating in Prague is the way to see and experience the city!

Helena was an extremely knowledgeable and friendly guide who not only gave us the experience and history of Czech food but also of buildings and statues along the way. The beer brewed in the boat was one of the more memorable and enjoyable events. Very tasty!

Lucus was an amazing guide. He was kind, personable, extremely informative and genuinely cared that we were all enjoying our tour. Our guide Lucas was so knowledgeable and friendly, including the whole group every step of the way. He has a passion for history which really comes through and adds to the tour. The food stops were great, we had beer, cheese, cookies and mulled wine, soup and traditional Czech fare.

A definite must do

Zach was a fantastic guide - friendly, helpful, informative and funny. The food places he took the group to were varied and all we absolutely delicious. We started at a micro brewery, stopped for gingerbread, soup, and traditional sandwiches before finishing at a restaurant for mains and dessert. We also enjoyed beer, wine and mulled wine (there were also non alcoholic options). Zach also showed some interesting sites, including stories about the history. And you definitely won't go hungry! The food was plentiful.

Our guide Helena, was truly the best! She was extremely hospitable, Every single one of us had a great time. She made my trip to Prague extremely memorable!

Fun time - great food

Very enjoyable. Solo traveler - total 12 in group. All stops were very different with a nice variety. Don’t book dinner reservations after this! Guide was great with many other suggestions for another time.

Fun tour exploring Czech food

Tour was a lot of fun and really enjoyed trying and learning about traditional Czech food. Helena, the tour guide was wonderful also pointing out sites and making recommendations along the way. We were in low season, so we had a small group of 5 which made it intimate. Fyi, more about food than drink. Tour included 1 beer and 1 glass wine.

An excellent tour

Excellent food tour with Helena. Learned loads about the food and the city. The other people on the tour were interesting and enthusiastic which made the experience even better. Helena was generous with her time and recommendations. I will definitely look to book another tour with this company again, particularly if travelling on my own.

Helena was a star guide

Helena conducted us round Prague with an expert eye. Although food and drink were the main focuses , she was brilliant at filling in the history and the general background to the city and its culture . A great experience all around - we recommend this tour -especially under her guidance !

A 5-star experience!

We decided to go with Eating Europe Prague after reading Rick Steves’ guidebook, which recommended this tour. We found Zack to be a knowledgeable, friendly guide. He provided us a nice mix of food and history. It was an unexpectedly hot day and Zack did a wonderful job keeping us out of the sun and keeping us away from the crowds, which we really appreciated. There was plenty of tasty food at interesting locations. Highly recommend!

Great guide, great food!

Eva was a wonderful guide and so upbeat. Made it fun and adventurous for us all. The restraints she chose were spot on, giving us a great variety of local foods and a variety of types of restaurants. The servings were very generous as well with an alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverage of choice at every venue! Very well done!

Great way to get to know the city

What a great way to see the city and explore the food of Prague. Our tour guide John was extremely knowledgeable, not just about the food but about Prague and what kind of history is surrounding this beautiful city. I would highly recommend this tour to see the sights and eat the food.

Not good value for money

I joined this tour in October 2023 after missing out on a place on the Prague Foodie Tour by Taste of Prague (TripAdvisor Traveller Choice). I had high expectations after spending over £100 on the tour - hoping to sample authentic, quality dishes that I wouldn’t find by myself. The tour started with some pickled cheese and a small beer (which I’d incidentally already tried at a beer tour the night before) so not the best of starts. Then onto some gingerbread from a sweet store which was a nice touch with winter approaching, but hardly a culinary revelation. Soon after we walked to a nearby open sandwich store for two small bites of ham and beef horseradish on baguette - both perfectly tasty but we were left salivating at the sight of warm pastrami sandwiches being sold from a butchers deli straight opposite. Me and the other tour guests all longed for one of those pastrami sandwiches instead and the queue around the block clearly suggested this was the place to be. We were led off fantasising about what could have been! The tour continued with lengthy stops outside buildings where our guide gave us detailed historical & political explanations…all of which would have been great had we not been on a FOOD tour and I’d had my fill of local history on my morning’s city tour. It felt like we were being shown the city with random food stops interjected, rather than delving deep into the cuisine I’d skipped breakfast for. The final few stops included a measly soup at a wine bar (with no wine included which was a real shame as they specialised in Czech wines), a pork/dumpling dish which I could have tried in any one of Prague’s thousands of restaurants, then finally an Apple strudel of no real consequence. I left feeling like I’d completely overpaid for an experience that should be priced at £50-£60 given the quality of the food, the nature of the venues and the two drinks that were included. If you really like your food and are used to paying good money when eating out, I’d give this tour a wide swerve and look elsewhere.

Overall excellent, and great English tour. Good historical information and great food options, including good drink options.

Variety, plenty, interesting

The food was plentiful and delicious - a good variety and we also got to taste some local beers and ‘lemonade’. Our tour guide made us all feel welcome, shared history of the city and culture - including her childhood memories too. However she got easily distracted and lost track of time which meant some of the group didn’t get to complete the tour. As a solo traveller I highly recommend something like this as I met lots of lovely people in the group too.

Best tour w Eva!

Wonderful fun and educational food tour w Eva. Eva is very knowledgeable in both food and history of Prague. Charming, energetic and entertaining w excellent very clear English. The food and drinks we were offered were delicious, varied and plentiful. Eva also told us much about the history of the city and showed us historical sites. Towards end of the tour, she gave us valuable detailed info about how to continue the fun day after the tour. The new people we met in the tour were also very fun. This was our first tour w eating Europe but from now we are going to look for them everywhere.

Great food and random history

Some amazing traditional food mixed in with Zachs colourful story telling and Prague knowledge made the tour a great afternoon.

Great way to learn about some Prague history and culture

My husband and I really enjoyed the food tour, which was recommended by a friend done it a few months ago. Our guide, Lucas, was very knowledgeable and personable, and we had a nice time learning about the city as we walked and sampled local foods and beverages. I for one, have never been a fan of beer, but from what I learned in the food pairings, I now at least like Czech beers :).

A taste that didn’t disappoint

Lucas gave us 6 delicious tastes of food-more than enough for a meal- along with drinks at some stops. We got not only a taste of Prague but a unique insight into the history and culture of this city. This tour was worth our time.

Zack was very welcoming, knowledgeable, entertaining. He took us to very interesting places, and we tasted some delicious food. I would recommend it for anyone plus we walked through some very interesting parts of the city that we would not have discovered on our own.

Excellent Prague Food Walking Tour with Helena

Helena was a fabulous tour guide and made a cohesive, fun group out of the 8 Americans and 4 Brits that were there. We started on a large brewery boat where we had beer and food and ended up trying about 3 different beer or wines with at least 6 food stops, which included the best potato dumpling and strudel in the world. We visited so many places, I’ve lost track, but everyone of them had something very cool in their own right, and the food was excellent! She was so organized that there was a table for 12 waiting for us at every stop and these places were usually really packed! We all felt very special important. And she talked non-stop between locations, pointing out places we might want to visit on our own. It was a delightful, very fun day, and at the end, no one wanted to leave. Thank you, Helena, for an excellent tour! We will always remember it, even if we can’t remember the names of all the food. 😊
