Eating Prague by Night Drinks & Food Tour

We loved our tour guide Eva. She was wonderful, funny and informative. Tour itself lacked food and it was all about drinks . We loved the group of the people in the tour but we would not recommend this tour , it was waste of money.

Great food tour!

We took the evening food tour of Prague with Eva and it was amazing. The pacing and amount of time we spent at each venue was perfect. We enjoyed all the food and drinks and believe me there was plenty of both. We took the tour with several friends - total of 6 in our group and there were a total of 9 people on the tour. Highly recommend Eva, she did a fabulous job. I don’t eat pork and another choice was provided to me instead at each stop where pork was served. Started with Czech cheese and pork sausage with beer, then soup, a wine tasting, entree of wild boars or pumpkin ravioli and finally dessert. Dessert consisted of Apple strudel with whipped cream - real cream not a can of chemicals. Plus several of us had an extra glass of wine (free) courtesy of Eva. For a drink we had hot chocolate which was literally liquid chocolate and thick as syrup. Nothing like typical American hot chocolate at all. Same whipping cream and glass of club soda to wash down the chocolate. Bon Appetite!

Excellent evening - great food and better company

Very highly recommended. We spent a wonderful evening with Vladimir, and were extremely impressed with the quality of the tour. The food is great, of course, and it’s clear that a lot of care has gone into choosing the stops. Stepping just a little way off the main tourist thoroughfare let us see a more local Prague, and we had some beautiful streets and stops almost all to ourselves. Vlad’s amazing list of recommendations for what else to do/see/eat in Prague was much appreciated.

Excellent tour with Vladimir!

I highly recommend this tour. We started off with a beer, meat and cheese followed by a lovely sauerkraut soup. Next was some wine tasting then pork and ending with a beautiful apple strudel in the wonderful Cafe Louvre. Vladimir was an excellent host who shared do much about the history of Prague and growing up through the Communist era. He gave excellent advice about where to go and what to see and gave us a detailed list at the end of the tour. We spent a great 4 and half hours talking, eating, drinking and exploring. An excellent company who provide great value for money. Thank you!

Great food and walking tour!

Neil was a fantastic guide that made the evening a lot of fun. We tried several different places we never would have known existed and they were all fantastic. This was definitely one of the highlights of the trip.

TASTE OF PRAGUE IN 4 HOURS

Eva was awesome in showing us the different places to eat. We were only there for 24 hours. First stop was appetizers and drink of your choice, second stop was a wonderful and delicately prepared home made soup, third stop was wine shop - tasting of white and rose wine i must say the best tasting rose wine i have ever tasty, fourth stop - dinner with appetizer, drink of your choice, main meal. Last stop was dessert at Cafe Louve - the hot chocolate was liquid chocolate -out of this world. Eva talked about the history of places as we walk to our stops. Wonderful evening. Definitely, would go back to Prague to eat more!!!

Great way to experience the food of Prague at night

Vladimir was a great host, explaining not only the food, but the history of the Czech Republic. Great to see the city at night and to experience the wine, food and beer on this tour.

Highly recommend food tour!

Not only did we get to eat delicious local food, local wine and beer, we also learned so much about Czech history. Neil was a great tour guide, made the evening really fun, and took us to places we wouldn’t have seen if not on this tour. So glad we got to see the Lennon wall and David Cerny’s crawling babies sculpture. All of the restaurants we visited were perfect!

Great introduction to Prague

We are veteran food tour “goers.” This tour was excellent. Vladimir was smart, knowledgeable and personable. We visited several outstanding restaurants (mostly on the Castle side) and learned a great deal about Prague and Czech culture.

Wonderful evening adventure

My wife and I took this food tour with Helena as our host. We've taken a number of food tours in other countries and this was one of the best. Great combination of interesting local cuisine and beverages. Helena was very knowledgeable of the city and the local fare. We would certainly recommend this tour.

it was a lovely evening in Prague

We enjoyed our evening. The food choices/restaurants were excellent. Frankly, we have been on other food tours where the discussions were lighter (more entertaining) and less didactic. Further, other food tours took us to the sources of the food, i.e. bakeries, markets, wineries. Our Prague experience was a series of restaurants. That is the basis for this comment. It was fun to speak with bakers, butchers, candy makers on other tours.

Try it - You’ll like it!

Five of us did the evening food tour. Eva our guide was excellent. She was very knowledgeable about the local area and the food we had. We ended the evening at the Cafe Louvre where the hot chocolate was not you typical American version. It was like someone took a hunk of chocolate and melted it down. Once in a lifetime try.

Prague food walking tour

Eva was personable & informative. She gave us a good over view on Prague food & wine. We also had some culture & history thrown in. When we finished our tour we felt we were vsaying hood bye to s friend.

Great tour and amazing food.

Highly recommended! Get ready to eat, we were stuffed with amazing food. The tour was on the longer side so wear comfortable walking shoes. Enjoy.

Great worthwhile tour.

We really enjoyed the tour with Helena. We saw a couple of different areas that were within easy walking distance. We sampled both local wines and food, which were well explained by Helena. Two of the restaurants were very good. We visited one next day and again were very happy. Helena helped us understand the place of the dishes we tasted in the Czech cuisine. the group also enjoyed the fun start to the tour with the alchemistry cocktails. Excellent.

Great guide, unimpressed with restaurants

We had Vladimir as a tour guide and he was great, and super informative. The sauerkraut soup and the apple strudel were great but we overall were unimpressed with the restaurants selected by "Eating Europe". We felt that the selections really didn't cover major traditional Czech foods and we're also lacking in more small bites but more locations. Although we thoroughly enjoyed Vlad, I would save your money and get recommendations on a few local places and do a self guided tour on your own. For the amount of really terrific food joints in the area, "Eating Europe" really dropped the ball in Prague.

Food Tour with Vladimir-Great way to spend the evening!

We enjoyed the Evening Food Tour last week in Prague! Our guide, Vladimir, was exceptional and provided our family with a wonderful evening. The food, variety, wine and beer were all delicious and we very much enjoyed the touring of sites and points of interest we would have otherwise missed.

Wonderful Way to Spend an Evening

We thoroughly enjoyed our Eating Tour. Our guide had good advice, told interesting stories about Prague's history and pointed out sights we wouldn't have noticed. All of this while tasting delicious food and wine. We would do it again!

Fantastic introduction to the city of Prague in fun format

I did two food tours and they took away my fear of having to eat Czech Cuisine

The emails and communication were great from them, and the meetup location was changed but clearly communicated. Look I had just gotten back from a three-week trip which included several cities in Spain and all the tapas and other excellent food in cities like Seville and Barcelona. I wanted to see Prague so bad but Czech food? Not so much. Well, I ended up doing two different food and drink tours, and they were an excellent way of seeing Prague from a locals perspective and eating at places that gave your food senses a lot more than basic cuisine from the area. Meeting the other eight people and interacting with them was a nice touch to a city visit and the tour guide made the experience great. I would highly recommend a food and wine or beer tour while in Prague and would most likely do it again when I return to check out the city some more.

I tried foods that I probably wouldn't have tried on my own and they were great!

The food quality and restaurants are average. I didn't like where we were seated at some places, it was way to the back of the restaurant when some places had outdoor sitting available. Neil our guide was very good, he made the tour fun and interesting.

Great experience!

A great way to learn and taste Czech traditional foods and beers. Our host was not only Knowledgeable about Czech food but also gave us a short history of the area. Neal was pleasant, knowledgeable and willing to share his experiences with us.

Great Tour

We recently took the Prague tour and enjoyed it. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable with regards to food/drink and also Czech history. We would recommend this tour if you visit Prague.

Great tour and great food!

The Evening Food Tour was awesome, thanks to Neil and the great food we had. So much interesting history and the food was amazing. Definitely recommend this tour (go hungry)

Enjoyable tour but overpriced

We booked this all inclusive tour to learn more about Czech cuisine and some of the history of Prague. Our tour guide Neil did an excellent job of explaining the vaious meals that we ate and offered some great commentary on the location and the history of Prague and the Czech Republic. We booked the tour online before leaving Australia for just under 200€. Even after factoring in the cost of having Neil as our guide, the tour seems a little overpriced.

Great night out with food and history

This was a great tour I highly recommend. Our guide Neil was great, and very funny. He was informative not only on different food in Prague, but also on Prague/Czech history. I got to try different food which was great. There was one other guy on the tour which was nice and more one on one with the guide. I like how this tour also switches it up and takes you to a variety of different places off the beaten path. Once again, our guide Neil was great, and gave all sorts of suggestions on things to do/places to visit. I highly recommend using this tour.

If you're a foodie and love to spend an evening with amazing people, go on this tour!

Took the tour with my husband on the Easter weekend following a co-workers recommendation. Since I'm a vegetarian, I at first was unsure if I'd be starving. Wrote an e-email asking for vegetarian options and the replied within a minute that it wouldn't be a problem. And I haven't been disappointed! The prepared to most delicious vegetarian dishes for me! I was in heaven! If you're in Prague and you're a foodie, go on this tour! Our tour guide Eva was wonderful and taught us so much about food, but also about czech history and politics. We were a fun group of people and time went by super fast! The food and the places she took is to were a-ma-zing. The tour is all worth the money.

Perfect start to our visit

Eva was wonderful, friendly, and enthusiastic. We started our first day in Prague with this evening food tour. It was the perfect finish to our long drive to Prague. We had a nice small group of only 4 tourist which made it very nice. All the food and drinks were amazing. Eva also gave us lots of tips on what to see and where to go while we are here in Prague. We could not have picked a better way to start our trip.

Fantastic

It is always great when you get a tour which meets or exceeds every expectation. Me and the other 4 tourists (Martha and Matthew from Canada/Esther and John from Australia) met our guide Rob (an American who had emigrated) and started the evening with a large mug of local beer in the Green Stove Café or Kafe U zelenych kamen. What was particularly good about this tour was that it was mainly in the old town on the far side of the river, so was a lot quieter than the main tourist districts. Rob, who had an excellent knowledge of Czech history and culture then led us to three cafe's where we enjoyed local food and wine, the Lennon wall (which has no connection to John Lennon) finishing off with the Café Slavia where I was introduced to Czech digestives (not a biscuit but a shot of strong alcohol). The food, beer and wine were excellent and the tour is a must for anyone who likes to try local food and produce in a warm atmosphere.

Great locations, delicious food

My husband and I had a lovely time on this food tour. We went to five different locations, and most had food or snacks, except for one that only provided wine. We had some Goulash that was very delicious. I would highly recommend it

Fantastic tour with Eva!

This was definitely a highlight of my recent solo trip to central Europe. Had some local food, beer, wine, dessert, and a night cap! Eva was incredibly knowledgeable about the region and history, and of course about the food and drinks we were consuming. A former newspaper food critic/columnist, she definitely knew her stuff! The food was fantastic, and I definitely feel like I got my money's worth given how much we had over the 3+ hour tour. 100% recommend!

Great food tour!

I did the Evening Food Tour because I wanted a tour of the less-touristed area of Prague. Neil was our guide and he was great at providing the history, description, and humor to all the restaurants that we visited and food we ate. There was a little bit of everything in this tour, from traditional Czech desserts and liquors to the modern take Czech food. In between the restaurants, you also get to visit little nooks and crannies of the Lesser Quarter in the evening. There's quite a bit of walking but it's mainly downhill after the first location.

Awesome!

I really enjoyed the Eating Prague tour with Vladimir as our guide. We got to eat at many different locations and sampled both sweet & savoury delicacies of Czech Republic. This also included beer and wine. There is no need for lunch before you meet and I didn’t need dinner that night either! I even bumped into Vladimir on his tour the following day when I returned to one of our stops for lunch for more chlebicek - I liked it that much. Not only did Vladimir teach us about Prague food but he also discussed historical events and pointed out different shops we could return to.

So much fun!!

I highly recommend this tour!! Especially with Neil, this was one of the highlights of our trip. Loved all the local places Neil took us too, great food and beverages. Neil was very personable as well as informative. I cannot say enough about it!! Thanks for making this experience so memorable.

One of our Trip Highlights

Having used Eating Europe in London, we expected a good experience but our expectations were exceeded by Neil's lineup of great restaurants and beverages. The food and drink were complimented by an evening of historical tales, an insight into the Czech culture and all was sprinkled with great bits of humor. I highly recommend this tour when visiting Prague.

It's a good one!

Loved Loved Loved this tour. It's a great way to experience "off the beaten path" areas and enjoy delicious food, beer and wine. Robert was knowledgeable, interesting and lots of fun. It was a highlight of our visit to Prague. You should take one of these small group tours.....you'll be glad you did.

A Must in Prague

We dedicated 5 hours of our weekend trip to Prague to Neil who was the perfect guide for us! His tour of the backstreets of the city was seriously the perfect way to discover the culinary delights of Prague. We were so scared after the second tasting stop that we were going to be so full we wouldn't be able to enjoy the rest, but somehow "nature" allowed us to keep on eating ALL afternoon. We would strongly recommend the tour to everyone and anyone who fancies discovering how the real Czechs celebrate traditions. Thanks Neil for making us laugh too!

Great Small Group Tour. Neil was Really Good.

Neil made the tour very personal and special. This tour took us to some places that were slightly off the beaten path or at least not the standard fare. We started with an "antipasta" plate and beer in a cozy cafe. We then had some awesome sauerkraut soup, then nice Moravian wines. The goulash was made with boar and venison and was very tasty. The beers were very good. The cheesecake and berries and ice cream and whipped cream were outrageous. And the after dinner drink was fun. Great tour. We got a good bit of history and stories as well.

The Best Food Tour We've Been On! Loved it.

The first thing I do when planning a trip is book a food tour. (It's the best way to get familiar with a town, its culture, and the best restaurants and cafes to return to during your trip.) And, boy, this tour was fantastic! By far the best food tour we've done to date. Jan Macuch was our guide--and he's the lead Prague food tour guide for this company. He's an absolute delight: knowledgeable, informative, and fun! Led us through the Mala Strana ("Little Town"), along the canal, and into the New Town. Amazing food, drink, and history tour. (We even got to sample absynthe and goulash.) Wonderful tour. I highly recommend it! Ask for Jan!

Vacation

Excellent food, beer and wine! The guide had great information on Prague! Highly recommend this tour. We found our way through little back streets to all the restaurants. The food and beverages were plentiful and very tasty! Had a great time!

Great goulash, excellent drinks, and a good dose of Prague history

Had an excellent guide (Neil) who added history throughout the tour, while also taking us to the local haunts for cheese, meats, soups, and the best goulash. It was fun, charming and absolutely enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Beer and food tasting tour

Fantastic little tour, met out guide Rob at on a boat that was also a brewery and proceeded to be shown round another handful of fantastic venues with great beer and food. Incredible experience!

I was lucky enough to have Jan and Neil as my tour guides for an evening food/beer/wine tour. It was fabulous to have guides that were so knowledgeable and engaged. It’s a really well thought-out and planned tour. You get to stretch your legs and wander from place to place; along the way hearing stories and anecdotes about iconic spots around the city. The food and beverages were top notch and varied. I highly recommend this experience — you will never forget it!
