Big Bus Prague Hop-On Hop-Off Tour with optional River Cruise

Why did I bother?

Pre Brooke the 48 hour pass on line . No issues. Found the closest stop to our hotel , 400 mtrs , hopped on the Red route , hit the Prague one way system and traffic lights. Saw the main rail station then stopped for 10 mins at the Hilton. How exciting. Not. Trundled off into the traffic again , crossed the Hvavluk Bridge ran alongside the Vlatava , behind the Parliament building then headed up the hill to Prague Castle. Leaving there we drove along lovely tree lined avenues and roads with commentary telling us good informative facts, which we couldn’t see owing to trees being in full leaf!around the awful site of a an old decrepit stadium that apparently hold s fourteen football pitches. Wonderful, not. Down the hill passing more apparently very nice buildings, unseen through the trees. At the bridge, more traffic lights, back to our first stop. We stayed onto the next stop where we alighted the smaller green bus with a shorter rout within the city. No upstairs,lots of traffic, stop. Start, stop.Go rounding circles . Stop . Start. Utter rubbish. Yes you get a tour, but see very ,title and spend more time at traffic lights. Missed the first boat trip because of the traffic. Managed to find a beer and a basket of crisps on a moored restaurant boat near the pier we required. Nothing else close by. No seats, or shelter. It was hot. Onboard , up the top in glorious sunshine waitress took beer order. Great. One hour trip , well worth it. Great views . Jump off await 30 mins for a full little green route bus . Got the elbows working to stop the queue jumpers from various nations got two seats. It then took ages to negotiate the Prague traffic again. Talk about the Magic Roundabout! The tour was definitely circular! Not the best tour. The operator needs to look at their marketing and advertising. The buses cannot stick to the current timetable owing the volume of traffic: the number of slow traffic lights and the number of roads closed owing to various grade works. Used it the second day only because I’d paid for it! Up to the castle , off, get back on later for a slow trip back. Not a pleasant experience on the buses. The boat was fine!

HOHO BUS great way to start your visit.

Loved this bus, both green and red routes. We rode this bus for two days and it was around every corner, green route. Red was scenic and functional for out of the way places. Guides were pleasant and helpful with some knowledge of what was around each stop. Never had a problem getting on or off a bus. We had lost a ticket for the second day and the guide happily provided a replacement. We have done MANY HOHO buses.

Bad experience

Overall experience was not very good. Hard to find bus stops for pickup, no app to see how long buses would be, 15 minute at a stop sitting on a very hot bus. Don't waste your money.

Good starting point

Its a good way to get to know the city…. Especially the two lines - red and green give a good idea. A goof starting point !

Easy to Use

Easy to use and a great way to see all of the city. Drivers were all friendly and the busses ran on time - easy to follow the circuit!

Don't bother with the boat trip

Used company elsewhere and was good. Not in Prague. Guide with umbrella at IP Pavlova not interested. Guy on bus only gave us our tickets after train station, despite asking (if we'd wanted green bus from train station, wouldn't have had a ticket) so had to continue to Hilton Hotel. Then a green bus didn't show up there (we got off one red and another red showed up before the green), so lots of time wasted there. Got green to river cruise - stood for another 30mins queuing for boat (1pm 15/5/24). Boat trip was only around 40 minutes, only went under one bridge then turned around, nowhere near Charles Bridge, let alone under it like the map guide shows!). Very disappointing day to be fair, based on how it could/should have been

Good value for the money

Great trip for the money - we were able to take advantage of 2 bus routes plus a river cruise - all included for the price we paid and the bus was available for pick up right outside our hotel

The tours were OK but the...

The tours were OK but the busses were very cramped and uncomfortable. They also had no provision for disabled users. I need a rolater to get around with and was always reduced to having the equipment stored between my legs which with limited space was extremely difficult and uncomfortable. I also feel it necessary to mention that the drivers' assistants were the scruffiest people I have ever seen supposedly representing a company.

Be aware that the bus don't stop at all the stops in the route

We got tickets for this hop on hop off bus and it was disappointing. There was no information that the bus don't stop at Dancing House after 14:45. It drive right past us several times, and we couldn't understand why. Found absolutley no information about this online - or at the busstop. The next day we went on at a different stop. We got a short trip, the sound and guide was fine. Would recommend using another "hop-on-hop-off" company.

Was ok. Not a necessity considering Prague is so small. Enjoyed the river cruise though. Prague is best explored through foot

We have continually used the Big Bus Tour for all our adventures across Europe and Prague did not disappoint. The routes were easy to follow and navigate and the people on board were always happy to help. The audio on the red route was less than ideal in terms of engagement but would highly recommend anybody to come aboard as it is a great way to get round and learn some history on the way.

siete una grandissima vergogna..non sapete organizzare i bis e nemmeno i battelli..nella stessa giornata mi avete fatto scendere e risalire due volte sia dal bus che dal battello...cambiate lavoro...evitatateli...siamo rimasti in piedi su un battello piu piccolo you are a great shame..you don't know how to organize encores or even boats..in the same day you made me get off and on twice both from the bus and from the boat...change jobs...avoid them...we remained standing on a smaller boat

Beware: Prague is NOT on the Big Bus app!

The main reason I do Big Bus tours is because their app is so amazing. So imagine my surprise when I discovered that Prague is NOT on their app. Thus, we had no idea when the next bus would come, resulting in a couple of hours wasted time over the 48 hours of our tickets, standing in terribly cold conditions. Other than that, the staff were incredibly great and the routes good. But next time I will doublecheck before buying a Big Bus tour.

Second Time was just as good!

This was my second Trip on the Big Bus Prague and I had just as much fun as the first time! The team were super helpful.

Hop off walk home

We purchased a 48 hour ticket with a cruise. We could not find the stop as there was nothing to identity it we found the bus by chance! There was a farmer protest which made the stops change and the frequency of the buses slow. However, the next day we realised this was the normal service. Buses did not stick to the timetable there was a minimum of 15 minutes between buses. On the red line the guide was chatting to her friend on the phone and got cross when my friend asked the driver a question. We waited 25 minutes for a bus on one occasion and gave up and had to walk back! Audio limited information. I have used these buses in several locations and this was the worst. It took too long to get anywhere. Save your money and use the tram!

Poor

Don’t waste your time.. seem to do bus routes when they feel like it rather than the schedule in the leaflets. Arrived with 3 buses still to go around, according to the leaflet, but was told it would be the last one, then told it wasn’t doing a full circuit it was going to finish at stop 9, not return to stop 1. The audio was poor. Didn’t bother using again. Such a shame as other cities big bus has been good, not Prague

It was good

Overall it was nice. We had no problems catching the bus or getting to the locations we wanted to get to. The boat trip was really nice too! The only problem was that the bus driver didn't wait for people to sit, before pressing the gas. A gentleman almost fell because of that.

Poor

I have used this service all over the world, and this was the worst. Audio was poor, out of sync. Even cut out on one bus. Bus drove past stop whilst we were waiting. Bus did stop at the castle, drove past with no expectation. The second day and attempt to visit the castle, we were told traffic restrictions meant a detour away from the castle. I recommend the stop after the castle as it is a much flatter walking route . The stop before is a step climb up the castle stairs.

Not enough buses running

If you manage to get on a bus the tour is not too bad. In December only seeming to be running two red route buses and one green so we waited a long time to get on the green one. One day we waited 45 mins and despite being told the green bus was one minute away it didn’t materialise. Next day waited about 25 mins. Only got on the bus about four times in the end so walked more than rode! Would’ve been cheaper to get an Uber 😬

Waste of money and time!

Don't book! It was a complete waste of money and time. Christmas day schedule was a disaster. Overcrowded buses and not enough to cater for the tickets sold. The only decent part of my ticket was the boat trip.

Save your time and money

Really not worth it for the money. There is only a recording with limited information. We took it hoping to pass the Old Town sites that we wanted to go back and visit later. It didn’t pass any of those and just went around the perimeter of the Old Town. It didn’t even pass the Charles Bridge.

Best way to see Prague!

I was in Prague for work and I only had a day at the end of the trip to explore and yet again Big Bus was perfect! I got to see everything I wanted to see and had plenty of time to hop off at some places I wanted to spend more time at!

catastrophe

Hands off the guys with the red umbrellas, they're a complete rip-off, bordering on fraud. The promised included services, e.g. entry to the castle, access to the Golden Lane, were not kept. Even the tourist information was warned by email. Our tour guide was probably afraid of his foreign guests and ran (really ran) ahead. The tour guide was given via an app (which was only loaded during the trip) and was not synchronized with the travel route. The red line was only suitable for us, as it was raining cats and dogs at the time. We didn't see anything or get any historical background here. We could have saved ourselves the blue line. We drove along it at breakneck speed. We lost time, money and our good mood. So, hands off!

Kein WLAN, obwohl versprochen.

In keinem der acht genutzten Busse (rote und grüne Linie, sowohl großals auch klein) funktionierte das WLAN. Die Aufkleber free WiFi entsprachen somit nicht dem Werbeversprechen.

Very bad

Pure waste of time and money. We spent more time waiting for buses that didn't come than driving. Underground... it's always blamed on traffic, but strangely enough, the other companies' buses get through better. It was also noticeable that at most every second bus came, which suggests that only every second bus comes. And if you're really unlucky, the bus is full and you can keep waiting... We've used the buses in many cities around the world and have always been completely satisfied. Unfortunately not in Prague (a great city by the way)

Nice tour through Prague outside and in the city center

What a beautiful city Prague is.. Especially if you go with Bigbustours.com.. With your earphones (which you get for free) you can listen to everything in Dutch at number 11 that happened in the city and what happened in the past. It has a red line and blue line.. Red goes out of town Blue remains in central Prague Nice staff
