Excellent day swimming with turtles

I was picked up at the cruise terminal promptly at the quoted time and driven by Baboo to the beautiful beach location for swimming with turtles. The beach is very nice with bathrooms, showers and changing rooms. The boat ride is quick because the turtles are not far. Get prepared as soon as you get on the boat. You can view from the glass bottom boat or the ocean. Please know, nothing is guaranteed but the crew will do everything possible to make sure your experience is wonderful. It was a great day for a beach tour. Afterwards we had the street food tour, markets, China town, waterfront, citadel and tea tasting. Everything was wonderful. Also keep in mind there is traffic. You may be delayed due to everyone else living their best life. This was well worth the fee and I enjoyed myself. For best enjoyment, leave the camera in the boat and just enjoy the ocean experience. Along with turtles are starfish, and a variety of colorful fish and marine life. Every day will produce something new. I had great weather and was dropped back off at the cruise port well within time for departing. Thank you for a great tour day.

Not much to the tour but very organized.

Babo was very polite and took us to the food market to show us how they order street food. We also went to the Citadel and he pointed out other main buildings. We went to the beach where another gentlemen escorted us to the boat for swimming with turtles. The water was refreshing but I did not see turtles. My husband saw one. Then Babo took us for a great local lunch. We had internet in the car while driving. It was very pleasant.

Deepak was an excellent guide! I did this trip with my best friend, and it was the most memorable part of our holiday in Mauritius. I would definitely recommend it :)

Fabulous day out

What an amazing day. Swimming with turtles was so much fun. Then the food mark was amazing. Tried lots of local food and drink. Our guide Deepak was amazing and had lots of knowledge of the area. Definitely recommend 10 out of 10

Turtles, Markets, and Tea-Tasting: A Perfect Day in Mauritius, Thanks to Baboo!

Baboo was an exceptional tour guide, and his commitment to treating clients like friends really stood out! Our day began with a trip to swim with sea turtles. Although it can be unpredictable with wild animals, the drivers were patient, and we were lucky enough to swim alongside a sea turtle! Afterward, Baboo took us to the Citadel Fort, where we enjoyed a good viewpoint over Port Louis. On the way, we stopped for some delicious street food, which added to the experience. We then explored the markets, where Baboo made sure we sampled a variety of fantastic local foods. We wrapped up the day with a visit to learn about the history of tea, followed by a tea-tasting ceremony, which we thoroughly enjoyed. It was a wonderful day, and Baboo's guidance made it even more special. We would definitely recommend this tour!

Don’t contribute towards for torturing turtles!

Absolute carnage! Far too many boats filled with people swarming the turtles, humans were kicking them with not a care, the turtles were scared and were looking for air, but so many humans this was difficult to do! If I knew this is how they did this trip I would never of contributed towards it! I am So naive and thinking Mauritius would be protecting these magnificent creatures, they are actually scaring them and killing them off! The government needs to get involved and the companies who provide the trips( limited boats)

Authentic flavours & Turtles

Swimming with turtles was the key highlight! Our guide, Baboo was great, he checked with the boat to ensure the best conditions to have a chance to seee the turtles - we saw and swam with two of these majestic creatures. Baboo also adjusted the sequence of our day with him to accommodate the turtles. The citadel and main market were interesting - although we’d have liked to wander around more and have been brave enough to barter for some souvenirs. The authentic food Baboo arranged for us from a stall in the market, and a street side vendor were tasty and gave a hint of the rich Indian and Asian heritage of Maritius! All in all it was a great day out.

My Experience

This was great fun! My rider Baboo was an amazing tour guide, the whole experience was very relaxed, the street food was delicious and as a solo traveller I felt very safe.

Fantastic family day out

Fantastic fun for the whole family! Lots to see and do. Special thanks to our guide Dipak, who took us to some great spots for food tasting and shared his knowledge of the island. Very accommodating to our family’s needs. Snorkeling with the turtles was an amazing experience. Citadel views of the city were good.

Great travel experience.

Swimming with the turtles is by far one of the best things I've ever done. The entire experience was very enjoyable and made for a great travel experience. My guide-Baboo, was really great; kind and very patient. The street food tour was also good, found my new favourite drink (Pearona).

What a memorable day!

This tour was absolutely brilliant! Baboo my driver was so friendly, kind and knowledgeable. It was an absolute pleasure to be in his company. He picked me up from my hotel and took me to the beach to take the boat to see the turtles. On the way there he told me many interesting things about Mauritius. I had some time to relax and swim on the beach, which was stunning before I got on the boat to see the turtles. What a magical experience that was and the guys running the boats are very good at what they do and make sure you get the best views of the turtles. On the way back we stopped for a delicious lunch, where local people eat. He then took me to the Citadel viewpoint and around the market to try some Mauritian snacks. This tour represents great value for money as it is full of many different experiences- I would recommend this tour to anyone!

Amazing

We had an amazing day with our lovely guide Dipac. Didn’t know what to expect as there are only a couple of reviews, but he was so welcoming and knowledgeable which made us feel really comfortable. The tour was really well planned: we saw a sea turtle, explored the old market and tried some amazing tea. Dipac chose all the food for us which was really helpful, he even squeezed in a few extras after we told him about our poor experience with Freshverde the previous day. Couldn’t recommend enough!

Swimming with the turtles wasn't as expected I thought it would be more professional set up, however the trip and time in port louie was great along with our exceptional driver for the day.

Amazing experience! We love turtles!

Went on the swim with turtles tour today. It was absolutely amazing! Our driver and personal tour guide, D’Pack, was lovely and friendly throughout. We had 20 min swim with turtles on a beautiful beach and we even stroked them! Lunch was nice in a small, busy, family run restaurant and we were given local snacks from the food market. We would have liked more time to go in the branded shops in the shopping village but overall it was an excellent experience and well worth it!! Weather was lovely, as this trip was previously cancelled by the operator for bad weather but communication was very good. I would suggest keeping in touch with the guide on WhatsApp to confirm pick up times etc 24 hours before you go on your trip! Thank you !!

My highlight of a 6 week holiday, this is it!

We were doing a 6 weeks vacation, from which 4 weeks on a cruise ship . One of the stops was Mauritius and there was a day which I didn't have an activity so I booked this one. It is certainly been the highlight of my whole holiday together with the Safari we did later. Our tour guide ( Baboo) was very good and easy to get on with . He took us to a street food stall with delicious friend noodles with chicken.

Great time

The driver was friendly, arrived on time, did not rush us, we had plenty of time for photos. He guided us through the city and at the market he chose tasty treats for us to try. Afterwards we went to the beach were we took a boat and very close to the shore we swam with giant turtles. They are really impressive, you are not allowed to touch them, but they are used to humans and come right next to you. Afterwards you can spend some time on the beach and eat a delicious lunch by the locals.

Best experience ever!

Even though the lovely driver was 45 minutes late, it was not his fault! It was Viator HQ fault. On our tour guide’s ticket, it said pick up 9.30 am. On my ticket it said 9 am pick up. Then he had to get a permit from a ticket booth to come to the port in Port Louis, Mauritius. But we managed to find each other and we had a most amazing encounter and swim with the turtles and after that a street food lunch. Bamboo is a great guide, full of history knowledge and about the island . We also went to the market afterwards . All in all a very good experience. But Viator needs to keep the time the same for us as for the guide!

Great tour and great tour guide.

I’m so glad I booked this tour because I only had one day to explore Port Louis and the surrounding area, and this tour was perfect. Baboo from Sam Tours was fantastic! He was friendly, relaxed, and informative, and made me feel secure at all times. He also went above and beyond what was advertised, and he made sure that I got to see the vegetable and fruit market before it closed on Sunday morning. Getting a taste of the culture and food was wonderful and delicious. The turtles were absolutely amazing! I highly recommend the tour.

Great guide, turtles and food!

Great guide and quick drive across the island. Swimming with turtles was amazing with the guides ensuring we had the best spot and as much time to swim with them as we wanted. The food from the Port Louis market and tea tasting were great too. Lots of food and fun. Would recommend to all.

Bonne expérience

J’avais un très bon guide/chauffeur aimable, ponctuel et intéressant à écouter parler de son île son nom était Dipac. Il m’a fait découvrir Port Louis et son marché ainsi que la citadelle Adélaïde. Nous avons eu la chance de nager avec une tortue grâce à la ténacité de notre marin. Seul bémol ne pas parler de découverte « gastronomique » en ce qui concerne snack et repas ! Mais de découverte de spécialités mauriciennes tout simplement.

Excellent excursion

I highly recommend the excursion to swim with the turtles and then the gastronomic trip with Turquoise Voyages. The organization was impeccable and the landscapes breathtaking. War nicht so wie erhofft.

Wir hatten Kontakt mit dem Veranstalter via ViatorApp. Dort wurde uns am Abend davor schon die Zeit um eine halbe Stunde dann am Morgen nochmal wetterbedingt um eine 1 Stunde verschoben. Taxifahrer war nicht pünktlich da. Wir fuhren zu den Schildkröten schwimmen. Fuhren mit einem Boot zu einem anderen Boot wo wir umgestiegen sind. Dort bekamen wir eine Taucherbrille und einen Schnorchel. Ein andere Kleinen Seeboje hing ein Fisch der Zum Anlocken der Schildkröte da war. Dort konnte in Ruhe mit 8 anderen zugeschaut werden, wie die Schildkröte den Fisch aß und ein paar Fische um die Schildkröte schwammen. Danach fuhren wir zum mittags essen. War leckerer als es aussah. Danach fuhren wir nach Porto Luise. Wir fuhren zuerst auf die Fort Adelaide hoch. Der Taxifahrer erklärte uns auf der Fahrt noch dies und das. Danach fuhren wir auf einen Bazzar was der streetfoodmarkt sein sollte. Und kauften zum umbrella Square der leider die Schirme zu hatte da es windig war. Taxifahrer stresste zum Schluss etwas da er meinte wenn wir uns jetzt nicht beeilen würden , würden wir in den Stau kommen. Tour hat sich nicht so wirklich gelohnt oder wir hatten einfach einen falschen Fahrer.
