Amazing and unique

Amazing and unique adventure. We added the rhino feeding and the eco rider safari and had the pleasure of meeting Fabrice, Cendrine, and Norbert. They each cared for us as if we were someone special or VIP - we are not. We learned, we laughed about young rhino love, we cried about the giraffe that recently passed while we mourned for his wife and felt joy for her pregnancy and new friends, and we did things we never expected to experience. This is a must do; and if you go say hi to our friends.

Amazing sights

This was a great excursion! I had a blast and everyone was kind and helpful. We had a great time! I would recommend again

Walk with Lions!

Walk with Lions was a great experience. The team that led us were great especially the team leader. I forget his name, but was tremendous. Fantastic time:)

The park is amazing- but book through someone else!

The Casela world of adventures is 5/5 day out! Fantastic for all ages, I went with my partner and 3YO. But amazing for couples, families with older children too. As you walk around the park there is an opportunity to pay for extra things to do such as walk with the lions, lion feeding, safari, drive through with the lions and tigers, giraffe feeding and more! I recommend booking these in advance incase there’s no space when you’re there. The staff there are informative and friendly, telling you lots about the animals and you can really see how much they care. I loved the Giant tortoises! Only reason for the 4/5 as the tour guide/driver did not turn up to collect us. Instead of informing me- I had to ring, they told me to get a taxi, we had to quickly sort this through the hotel and wait for confirmation that they would refund this. It took a lot of faffing about. The whole reason I booked this was for the ease of being collected and dropped back off without having to worry about navigating public transport. Also- the taxi drivers in Mauritius are dangerous (texting while driving, dangerously overtaking etc) something I really wanted to avoid. I was then told I would have to wait a long time for a refund! Luckily we didn’t miss our slot and we had a fantastic day!

Rhinos in Casela

Hello! We spend magnificent time in Casela feeding rhinos with Fabrice. He is very interested in his job and animals, told us a lot of information about rhinos.

Hire a private taxi instead

Most of the previous reviews you read here on trip advisor are about Casela and not about the transportation service that Viator provides. Casela was fantastic, Viator was not. My review is about Viator. I should have followed my hotel’s advice and booked through Casela’s website directly and hired a taxi myself. It would have saved me $30 USD and some stress. I booked Viator’s transport service 3 days in advance. They emailed me quickly confirming my pickup time at my Port Louis hotel would be at 07:30, and they would soon notify me of my Casela safari time. They never notified me of my safari time. On the morning of my Casela adventure, I had to skip my prepaid hotel breakfast to meet my driver, Soobiraj, at 07:30. He was a punctual and respectable guy and provided his services accordingly. But why was my pickup time so early? Was it to consider busy traffic? It wasn’t necessary. Soobiraj drove me safely, and we arrived at Casela at 8:15. For 45 minutes we stood around and watched the Casela staff arrive to open the park at 09:00. That’s 45 minutes I could have spent eating breakfast or sleeping in. Thankfully Soobiraj stayed to make sure I was admitted into the park. At 09:00, I was the first person in line to enter, but Casela had no record of my admission or safari reservation despite my prepaid vouchers provided by Viator. (This would explain why I never received safari confirmation beforehand). Soobiraj and park staff worked through Viator’s mistakes and I was provided my tickets and entry at 09:15. My safari time was scheduled for 09:30, which meant I had to hurry through the park to attend my safari. Before we parted ways, Soobiraj said he would wait for me in the parking lot to drive me back to Port Louis at 12:00. In total, I was provided 2 hours and 45 minutes to rush through my safari tour, roller coaster ride, and the Casela animal exhibits, which was an inadequate amount of time. Please, dear readers, learn from my misfortune and don’t book transport service from Viator to Casela. Casela is a wonderful place when not rushed or stressed by a sloppy third party transport service. You will have more freedom and flexibility of time without Viator. The one star rating I am forced to score is for Soobiraj, not Viator. Thank you sir.

Successful family day event at Casela.

Fabulous safari and beautiful interaction with the animals! Must do whilst on the island for adults and kids alike, especially the zip wires!!

The best experience!

Had an amazing time at Casela. Did not have to wait in a long line as everything was pre-booked. The activities booked were times perfectly. Feeding the giraffes was a surreal moment. You are given 5 minutes to feed the giraffes in your own space without other customers. I was also able to feed other animals in the petting farm. The quad biking was phenomenal; you get up close and personal with the animals who seem very happy and used to people. As I am scared of heights, I was initially not going to go on the rollercoaster but as it was part of the booing I did. I felt very safe as you are able to control the speed on the rollercoaster cart you are on so are able to go slow on the steep or higher parts. The views in Casela are also amazing. I will definitely go again the next time I am in Mauritius and will book through this operator!

Fabulous fun day at Casela Park

Picked up from my hotel by Mike, he was friendly and very helpful, arrived at the park and Mike escorted me in to get my ticket and arranged where he would be when I was ready to leave, the park was amazing lots of animals you could get close to, availability to walk with lions or feed Giraffes, a great day out, Mike picked me up and returned me to my hotel he was a very good driver, I felt safe and happy

A must visit, especially walking with lions.

What a wonderful place this is. Great for adults and also families, but make sure you book well in advance for the highlight gem - walking with white lions. A magical breathtaking once in a lifetime experience to walk side by side with these Majestic creatures. Steve, our guide and protector was so lovely and put everyone at ease. Also make sure you buy the photo package. £25 for over 900 photos of this one hour walk and talk. Also do the safari tour where you get yo feed zebras and giraffes, too. Book ahead now!!!

Walking with lions

The safari and walking with lions was a dream come true all staff were fantastic. A big massive thank you to the big cat experience walking and interacting with real lions was unbelievable a massive thank you to Angel the guide and dangerous Brian for what was a dream come true

Walking with Lions

When coning to Mauritius, this has to be on your list of things to do. My bf and I walked with the Lions, which was an amazing experience. You can stroke / walk next to them - with your guide. We also did a safari on quad bikes, which was another amazing experience - especially getting up close & personal with some of the animals, and we got to feed them too. They have giant tortoises, along with rhions , giraffes & much more. Make sure you make a day of it as there is so much to see and do!. Word of warning: If you decide to walk with the Lions, make sure you are covered due to the mosquitos. Some poor lady had shorts on & after an hour, she must have had at least ten or more bites on her legs! The guides were informative and entertaining, and when doing the activities, they took photos, which were reasonably priced. It was a memorable day, and I would definitely recommend it.

Good day out for kids

We were picked on time by our guide Mr. John who was really amazing, jolly and gave lot of information about the country and many other things. We really enjoyed time with him in the car. The Casela Bird park is nice but few things which everyone complained are; The directions are not clear in the park and if you have to reach a specific point you might get delayed They should give a printed map at the counter, which they didn’t The bathrooms were not clean inside the park and there was no water The best part of the park was Big cat ride. The tour guide was amazing. The Tulauaka ride was fantastic

Enjoyable ride

Had a lot of fun on the Tulawaka ride. It was well paced and you control how fast or slow you go so very exciting. Great ride to try out solo or with family and friends

DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY

The park opens at 9 and closes at 5. We got there at 9am sharp and had to wait 1.5 hours in the queue to get in. Once we finally managed to pay £75 (3800 rupees) at the counter (family of 4) and get in at 10.30am, my son wanted to go on the mini rides but no one was there to open the rides so we went to the mountain rollercoaster. This was another long wait- 45 minutes in the queue. After the 5 min ride, it was almost 11.30. Our safari ticket said we had to go to the safari bus pick up point at 3.15 (even though safari began at 4). So we decided to go to the ‘big cats’ area. Only three lions and a cheetah to see here. It was 12.30 so we had lunch in the big cats location. Took 30 mins for our plate of chips and burger to arrive. By now it was 1.30. We wanted to see more animals but were told ‘its included in safari’ and to wait for our safari tour. What else left to do? We were told you had to pay additional for the 4D cinema and zip-lining, bridge and quad. The only thing left was to see giraffes. We waited 40 mins for the bus to take us to giraffes section. Spent 5 mins feeding the giraffes (you have to pay extra for this). Told nothing else to see in the section. If we wanted to see any birds it would be another wait for another bus and it was 2.30, we didn’t want to miss our safari trip so decided to wait for our safari bus. It arrived at 3.30. The safari was only 15 mins long (we were told it would be 40mins). Animals were scarce and far away. Tour guide had unclear English and was more interested in taking photos than talking about the animals. At 4.45 I went to speak to the manager in charge. Told him about our awful experience and how it wasn’t worth £75 and if we could get some of the money back as more than half the day was spent waiting around for buses and staff to open rides/arrive. He said no. For £75, we went on one ride, saw a couple of animals and had a 15 min safari. The park is large, so to get to different sections you have to wait a long time for bus. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Nice place but staff like zombies

The ticketing to enter is a pain in the back side and some of the staff must be smashed in the head as they are so thick.

Worst customer service ever with unprofessional staff

You should change your about details because it is more headache when you pre book and can't attend. So it is better to go straight and buy tickets at casela!!!

Once in a lifetime experience

Had the most amazing day at the animal park, we did so many activities that you can do no where else. Staff for each activity were knowledgeable and helpful and we felt safe . We started the day early feeding the white rhinos, this was an incredible experience, it was just my husband and I with the keeper (and photographer, who took good pictures), they were so gentle, we were stroking them too - thoroughly recommend this activity. We then went on the quad bike safari, we decided to have a quad bike each - good decision. This time although there were about 14 people, we were split into our parties, so again it was just my husband and me with a keeper . This was good fun going through safari, stopping taking pictures of various animals - highlight was stopping near the zebras, food was then put on our quad bikes on the petrol tank and the zebras and ostriches came to eat the food, again we could pat and stroke the zebras! We then went to see the giraffes, again fed them from my hand and could stoke them. We finished the day Walking with Lions, this is what it says, actually walking and stroking them. They have been hand reared and appear happy to do so. We came away having had a great day, felt very emotional and privileged to have spent time so close to all these amazing animals. There are age restrictions on the lion walk but do offer other activities for younger children with the lions.

Lion walk is a must!

I’ve been to better safaris in South Africa and Kenya but Mauritius is not really known for their safaris so this was good I guess lol. The lion walk was pretty amazing and a must do!

Absolutely wonderful experience. I felt very safe although I don’t think the stick they gave me would have deterred the lion from taking a bit of my flesh.. Well worth à visit to Caseka....

A Fun Day Out

Lots to do here! My favorite was the ziplining and our safari e-bike tour. We had a great guide that took us to see all different kinds of antelope, tortoises, zebras, etc. The e-bikes are really fun to ride but there aren’t any paved paths...and the ground was pretty rocky. Not sure this would be a good activity unless you are confident on a bike. We didn’t have our kids with us (couples trip) but our kids would’ve loved visiting here. It’s a good mix of animals and adventure. Be sure to wear closed toe shoes or you can’t participate in any of the activities!

Great place to visit but purchase your tickets at the park, it's much cheaper!

The safari park is brilliant with plenty activities for adults and kids. Some of the waiting times in the park can be long so make sure you have planned a full days outing to Casela, any less and you may be disappointed. You can collect your tickets at the park and skip the queue with Sega Tours, however it is cheaper to purchase your tickets at the park. There may be a queue if you decide to purchase your tickets at the location however it was better than waiting 30 minutes as Sega Tours had put the wrong name on my booking (my partner's instead) and the staff did not know.

A pukka safari.

This place has walks, cycle rides and of course the safari. An interesting and fun safari. The team are good fun and really make it a great day out.

Needs a full day

A wonderful experience for young and old alike. Needs a whole day to be able to do and see all, by that I mean getting in as soon as the gates open. Many of the activities are dependent on availability and time slots, meaning depending on what time slots you are able to book and pay for activities you may need to plan your movement throughout the park.

Amazing lion experience

We went here for the day and it was arranged through our hotel. We saw before we left for Mauritius that you could walk with the lions and this looked so good. I did my research and discovered all the conservation work this place did. Especially with the white lions, helping with a breeding programme to get white lions numbers back up in the wild. The walking with the lions experience was just amazing, our guide Steve one of the keepers was just awesome. He had great knowledge and a good sense of humour. It is an experience I will never forget, such magnificent creatures. The rest of the park was good too. Take insect repellent.

Highlight of Casela was feeding the giraffe's and touching the gigantic tortoises! Such a life-altering experience! Well-managed establishment and friendly staff.

1 day at Casala Park

An absolutely breathtaking and exciting experience! Late October, early November is an excellent time to visit the park as it is pleasant from the number of visitors and you can enjoy the attractions in peace. The park offers an incredible amount: from a fast-paced toboggan run and an impressive safari through the vast grounds to the opportunity to experience predators up close or to be part of feeding – there really is something for everyone here. The staff are extremely friendly, explain everything in detail and are always helpful. A truly unforgettable experience for young and old – we will be happy to come back!

The safari included in the price is not very long. The price a little excessive for non-residents. The tour of the park is quite shaded, appreciable in periods of heat.

To flee

Children with disabilities ♿️ not even priorities. One hour is more for the ticket. No line for residents. All Things to do 5 minutes at 3 €... Ridiculous!!!

A mother cries for it

We were very disappointed: we are a family of 4 (parents, 4 year olds and a 9 month old baby). It is not always easy to circulate with a thumb in the circuit (lots of stony and dusty places. To take the 1st car we were forced to leave the thumb on the ground and we unfortunately forgot our safari tickets in this thumbnail. Arrived at the place where we had to take the car to go on safari you had to wait under the sun with baby on your arm because the shelter is far too small. Many other people had kept thumbs up because they did not have the same control as us. We arrived in front of the car because we forgot our tickets with the thumb. Yes it is a mistake on our part to have forgotten our tickets in the thumbnail but the way you are relegated after waiting with baby under the sun and a little one who only waited for the safari during our stay in Mauritius and besides in a very cold way in front of so many people gave us tears in the eye. “You have to have your personal belongings, yes” Yes, except that it was your agents who forced us to leave the thumbs up. Brief end of tourism and reporting ok but there is a way to talk to customers.

Une évolution très négative : parc décevant et fort cher

Une parc qui manque de lisibilité et qui mise tout sur des activités payantes non incluses dans le billet. Une visite très décevante en famille avec un prix d’entrée fort cher. Premier point négatif : on ne peut venir avec de la nourriture et des boissons dans le parc pour nous pousser à consommer sur place. Mais faut-il que l’offre de restauration soit à la hauteur. Nous étions dans la partie du parc consacrée aux prédateurs : un stand pour le salé et un pour le sucré… et une seule vendeuse s’occupant des deux. Résultat : un stand de sucré ouvert où il est impossible d’acheter faute de vendeur. Un stand de salé où il faut faire la queue au moins 30 minutes et qui ne propose déjà plus certains plats principaux à 12h30. Deuxième point négatif : le safari. Le lieu est beau et ressemble à la savane mais la visite en camion assure juste le service minimum. Nous avançons et nous arrêtons près d’animaux mais aucune explication ou commentaire sur les animaux ou ce que nous voyons. Nous restons parfois longtemps à l’arrêt sans raison, le temps que le chauffeur consulte son portable … Une prestation fort décevante. Deuxième point négatif : la zone des prédateurs. Une partie très petite avec une très faible diversité de fauves et tourner à nouveau vers les activités payantes supplémentaires : trajet en camion parmi les fauves, entrer dans les enclos … Pour le reste des visiteurs, peu de choses à voir à part 6 types de fauves dans des enclos les mettant peu en valeur avec des panneaux indicatifs tellement anciens qu’ils sont illisibles en grande partie. Troisième point négatif : des zones délaissées. Des attractions abandonnées comme la mine ou une descente sur bouée fermées et sans explications. Des animaux peu mis en valeur comme les macaques perdus entre deux zones et peu repérables. La meilleure partie du parc est la partie originale, celle consacrée aux oiseaux. On y voit une grande diversité d’animaux dans des volières bien conçues, une où il est possible d’entrer. On y voit aussi de beaux poissons au sein d’un très bel environnement. Un parc qui n’a pas de lisibilité et qui mise tout sur les activités les plus lucratives non incluses dans le prix du billet. Un grand manque de cohérence. Les animaux sont en train de devenir accessoires : ce qui compte c’est de proposer toujours plus d’ activités payantes avec eux. Quand ils ne le permettent pas on ne les met pas en avant. Une visite très décevante pour un prix d’entrée bien trop élevé.

Kleine Safari auf Mauritius

Wir wurden pünktlich abgeholt und zurückgebracht. Auf der Safari sahen wir in der Ferne Nashörner und Antilopen. Direkt am Safaribus waren viele Zebras und Strausse. Sonst sahen wir Löwen, Geparden, Kamele und Giraffen. Da wir keinen Plan bekamen, verpassten wir leider die Riesenschildkröten.

Very nice right

Very nice place, even if a little touristy. The ziplines are magnificent. Access to the zoo in a beautiful reserve (giraffes, zebras, ostriches, etc.)

Safari triste pour le prix Park de plus en plus délabré Manège qui date des années 70 Personnet, elle est chauffeur de bus limite sympathique

La marche avec les lions ! Sauf que nous avions pas prit de billet à l’avance et il ne restait pas beaucoup de place ! Nous n’étions pas informés que ceci était à prendre dès notre arrivée ! Car ceci n’est pas compris dans les billets d’entrée ! Mais j’aurais aimé qu’il y est une option avec la marche avec les lions sur le site !
