Wavedancer Low Isles Great Barrier Reef Sailing Cruise

Fun experience, not too tiring as the boat ride was just over an hour.

The crew were great. Food was mainly cold dishes but the selection was adequate. Snorkeling was tough for young kids but the island walkabout was interesting.

Fantastic experience with great company.

Great experience, although we failed at snorkeling 🥹. The whole day was so well organised with friendly, helpful crew. Lovely, fresh lunch - prawns, chicken, salads & pasta. Glass of bubbly on our way home. The company kept us up to date via email prior to joining the boat.

Amazing!!!

We LOVED this tour. It was amazing to snorkel up close to the reef and visit the island. The staff are fantastic - friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.

Amazing experience!

The crew were very friendly and helpful. We loved the seafood buffet lunch. The snorkelling was amazing and we saw turtles, sharks and many beautiful fish. We would highly recommend this tour

Excellent choice for family reef option

Wonderful day out to the inner reef. Chose this option with my family as having been to the outer reef a few times previously wanted to ensure an easy enjoyable trip. Good points- Less distance to travel (do take the sea sickness tablets as soon as boarding, none of us were sick) & an island to stand on in case anyone was unwell & needed time to recover. Boat was clean & comfortable, staff very helpful. We went at Easter & thought would be busy but was an actually only about a third full so lots of opportunity to move around the boat. Stinger suits provided & snorkel gear. Would be helpful if they’d advised to put on suit when travelling across to the island save then trying to put on on the sand. Good snorkelling on the reef, we were lucky the tide was in so able to access the reef, good snorkelling saw lots of fish, clams. Coral & a distant turtle. Would have liked to have done the guided snorkel tour however it moves off very quickly after first transfer to the island & didn’t allow enough time for us to get our suits on & snorkels (trying to sort out the children). Which was a real shame as my eldest son (12yrs) particularly wanted to do it. Food was lovely, lots of choice & plenty of it.

It was value for money, friendly staff. The tours were great and included. Lots to see and do. We really enjoyed it.

Great beginner snorkel trip for young families

The staff were AMAZING. So friendly and helpful. It was fab having our very own marine biologist on board for a guided snorkel and lots of interesting facts about the reef and ecosystems.

The perfect day

Perfect day. Low isle are beautiful. The crew were knowledgeable nothing was too much trouble for them. Food was plentiful and lovely. Thank you for making out last day in Queenslland one we will remember forever.

A great day out

Awesome destination. Fabulous crew. Even an onboard live entertainer. Easter eggs a nice personal touch.

Great barrier cruise

This Wavedancer cruise was amazing. The crew were friendly and very knowledgeable. We saw many sea life and reef. We were very pleased.

Fantastic Day Out

Amazing experience with a great friendly crew, highly recommended! The Wavedancer is a gorgeous boat with great facilities! The whole day was amazing and exceeded my expectations. The glass of fizz and the crew member with his guitar was the perfect end to a perfect day!

Great snorkling

Great trip of you are there for snorkling. The glasbuttom boat was not impressive. We were 2 on this tour one who was snorkling and one who was not. That is why we chose this tour over others. But we has expected more from the glassbuttom boat.

Mostly great

The excursion was great but the stinger suit didn’t fit me so I couldn’t snorkel. I asked twice and they assured me they had a suit to fit me but it was so tight I couldn’t breathe. The rest was great. We had two biologists aboard. We did a glass bottom boat and a beach tour with them. Crew and food were great.

Wonderful day at the Great Barrier Reef.

We actually were switched to the outer barrier tour due to the effects of the recent cyclone. Quicksilver Tours did an excellent job of notifying us of the change. It was a wonderful excursion with a professional knowledgeable staff. This is a top notch tour company!

What an amazing day

My husband and I and our 2 friends booked the Wave dancer trip in the uk before our trip to Australia, we were so glad we did. The day was amazing from start to finish. From the moment we boarded the catamaran we were given very thorough safety instructions and loads of information on marine life and snorkelling. When we arrived at the beautiful Low isles we were quickly shuttled across to the island and given first class equipment. The guided snorkelling trip was great and we felt very safe at all times. When we got back on the catamaran at lunchtime there was a fabulous buffet waiting for us comprising of king prawns, chicken, beef and an array of delicious salads followed by fresh fruit and later cheese and biscuits We couldn’t have asked for more, then on the return journey we were serenaded by this lovely man with a glass of bubbly to round off an amazing day, I didn’t get any of your names but all the crew were brilliant and super friendly. I would not hesitate to recommend this trip it was first class.

EXCELLENT WELL WORTH THE MONEY

The team was professional and well organized. Safety first is their moto and I felt totally safe at all times. The staff very friendly and accommodating, The lunch surpassed my expectations with fresh prawns, salads, fresh buns and cold cuts and fresh fruit. Beverages always available.

I saw the coral and fish...

I saw the coral and fish while snorkelling for the first time. It was a thrill to learn how to snorkel and I was delighted by the underwater life.

Perfect Trip

Awesome from start to finish! What feels like a short hour journey from the port to Low Isles. Staff briefing on safety was extremely thorough and filled us with confidence. All the equipment provided was like new and we had no issues other than sizing of one of our wetsuits (underestimated girth). A fantastic day all round with a great guided snorkel, beach walk and glass bottom boat. Shoutout to Glen the marine biologist for those. Capped off with a complimentary glass of bubbles on the way back to port.

What a great day out on the water

Love Love Loved it!!! The staff are so funny and friendly, the catamaran is lovely and we were blessed to have great weather. We have done many snorkelling trips around the world and the info session beforehand was the most comprehensive one we’ve seen. The glass bottom boat is fun and I went out on that three times. The young bloke that took us out - cant remember his name- he grew up at Cape Tribulation - was very knowledgeable and it’s evident he loves his job. The Buffett lunch was fantastic - to be honest I wasn’t expecting much - but the food was so fresh and tasty and really well presented and 10 points for the food handling and cleanliness. I actually Can’t fault this trip at all. Well done guys , you have a sensational business and be proud of your work and love of the sea.

Snorkeling from a coral cay.

Whilst the stay at Low Isles felt rushed, we had a lovely time. Seeing a huge turtle and a reef shark swim in front of us was amazing. There were so many varieties of hard and soft corals and colourful fish darting in and out, it was spectacular. Whilst the walk is short around Low Isle we could have spent longer stopping to explore the rock pools. The lunch on board was a lovely variety of salads and seafood.

Just do it!

I had already been on the Silversonic catamaran to the outer reefs and was bitten by the Great Barrier Reef curiosity bug so had to join this one, too! I am glad i did. We had a great trip out, the snorkelling was awesome, the Low Isles fascinating, the lunch satisfying and the crew approachable and friendly. Recommended!

Great value

The crew were fantastic. They were all helpful, professional and friendly and made the day extremely memorable. The food was good. The snorkelling, equipment and safety were first class. Would definitely recommend as great value for money.

Disappointing

This trip should never have gone ahead. It should have been cancelled with how rough the weather was. Majority of us missed out on snorkelling because of the rough conditions. We should’ve been given the option to change to another day. So disappointing.

Snorkeling was amazing

The snorkeling on the reef was amazing, the fish, huge clams and coral was simply stunning! The water was nice and warm even on a slightly overcast day.

Great cruise to Low Isles Reef .

Great trip. Well appointed comfortable boat. Excellent friendly crew. Tasty beget lunch. Great choice of activities from snorkelling ( gear, clothing included) to nature walk with naturalist, & glass bottom boat tour over reef. Highly recommend. Good value for money.

Fantastic day

We loved the whole day. The staff were amazing and so helpful. It was my husband's birthday and during the sing a long they sang Happy Birthday to him.

A beautiful day on board the Wavedancer

We had such a beautiful day yesterday on the Wave dancer. The crew were amazing and incredibly friendly and attentive. The snorkeling was pretty good despite it being low tide. My kids saw 2 turtles and a sting ray amongst many different fish species. It was comforting to have two life guards on duty the whole time not only keeping you safe but advising on the best location to snorkel. Visiting the island adds another dimension to the day and makes for a very relaxing visit. Thank you very much everyone.

We enjoyed ourselves

We had an overcast super windy day . We were out at low tide not ideal. The staff were fantastic the marine biologist was fascinating the food was great . The body suits and snorkeling gear great too. This trip in good weather and high tide would be fabulous.

The weather was marginal but the crew and location made the trip very memorable, highly advise give it a go and if you get good weather this would be a golden trip

Fantastic introduction to the reef and snorkelling!

We had never been to the reef and it was amazing! Weather was perfect thankfully as I do get seasick. As a novice snorkeller I needed help with fins and snorkel. The staff were so helpful and patient. Everything was provided and was very well organised. Staff were professional and so friendly. Nothing too much trouble. Lovely fresh buffet lunch. Highly recommend this trip.

Worth the money

Marine biologist.. loved hearing history and biology of low isles. Lots of options to keep you busy even if you do not snorkel

average experience

The morning tea and afternoon tea are very simple, just plate of assorted Arnott biscuits and crackers and cheeses in the evening. Buffet lunch all were served cold, very hard cold noodle salad. Seafood inside seem fresh and tasty but expect some warm dishes. You will have to go snorkelling otherwise will be pretty bored on the island with nothing.

Great Family Experience

What a great way to experience the Great Barrier Reef with our 10 and 12 year old granddaughters! They particularly enjoyed the snorkel tour with the marine biologist. I liked that they had beach access to the snorkeling. The staff was friendly and helpful. The day’s activities were well scheduled and organized. Highly recommend!

Had a great time! Do the Wavedancer!

We had beautiful calm weather. The staff were really hard-working and clear in their instruction. A beautiful experience all in. Lots of coral and fish and giant clams. Saw a reef shark but no turtle that day. For someone who wanted a great snorkelling experience but not travel too far, an hour from Port Douglas and you're in snorkel paradise. Water was warm with good visibility. We were all expected to wear the stinger suits. Equipment was well-maintained. We were serenaded back to Port Douglas. A great day well-spent! Do the Wavedancer!!!

Everything is thought of to make the day a memorable one. The Island is a great getaway. The snorkeling experience off the beach is wonderous. The Crew on board the cruise ship and the Crew on the ground were absolutely wonderful. A shout out to Erica for the tour of the Island. A shout out for Shay for her amazing care as Life Guard and Snorkelling instructor. All crew on board including the original and authentic singer grey O. Great day out - very professional crew & boat was awesome

Staff were great, very helpful & informative, lunch was delicious. Our day was a bit choppy and overcast but still saw some beautiful fish, giant clams & corals.

Beautiful coral and turtles

Best of 3 snorkelling adventures we had on this holiday. The staff were friendly, the escorted snorkelling absolutely fabulous and very informative. The coral was so beautiful as were the fish and turtles we saw. Highly recommend.

Great day at the Low Isles.

Awesome day trip to the Low Isles. The weather was sunny, wind up so a bit rough, a sea sick tablet recommended. Busy day not much down time, by the time you snorkel, island tour walk. Glass bottom boat. A great day. Staff friendly and helpful. Thank you

Couldnt ask for a better day!

I couldnt believe how nice all the staff were. They clearly love their jobs! Lunch was fresh and yummy. It was such a great day out considering all the storm and rain the week before. Waters were choppy but inside on the way home had live music which was so relaxing after the day!

Great company, plenty of packages available

Staff in the shop back at the marina were friendly & accommodating. Crew on board were above and beyond! What a great way to experience the reef. Suitable for all ages really! Lunch served on board was top quality, and the crew gave plenty of notice as to when it was being served and when it would be packed away. They made sure everyone had eaten & provided champagne toasts at the end of the trip. Absolutely brilliant day trip. Shuttles from the Wavedancer to Low Isles shore run regularly & allow you to snorkel, take guided walks & they even have a marine biologist on board!

Beauty of a day on the Outer Reef!

With air temp of 34C and water temp of about 29C, the conditions were perfect for sailing and exploring Low Island on the Outer Reef. Quicksilver provided a wonderful experience, from the friendly and chatty bus driver through the boat crew, marine biologist, and life guards, we were well taken care of and made to feel welcome. On boarding we were provided tea while waiting to get under way. A nice buffet lunch was provided, and an afternoon tea with live entertainment for the sail back to port. We thoroughly enjoyed our day and highly recommend this adventure!

Amazing

Fantastic tour. All staff were superb, very knowledgeable and friendly. Tour was professionally organised and conducted. The reef was amazing, full of colourful coral and beautiful animals.

Reasonable value - great location

Was a pretty good day all round with great weather and smooth sailing. Reasonable value for money although we did find the staff a little in flexible around what you were allowed to take on the shuttle to the beach. We’ve done a few reef type trips in the past and have been able to take anything we need with us as long as we were self sufficient (and we are very organised as we are definitely seasoned travellers). As customers, we found it a bit off-putting to be lectured rather than informed about stuff like what we could bring or not bring over to Low Isle, so that’s an area the company might want to focus on. Not a deal breaker but maybe give some of those travelling with you a bit of flexibility to be responsible for their own stuff (and I do get that some people would be painful trying to lug bags and bags of stuff onto the shuttles, so do understand why Quicksilver has certain rules in place). All in all though a pretty good day 👍

Fantastic experience and perfect snorkel day.

This experience was unbeatable! There was plenty of crew on board and they took excellent care of us. They were great at communicating the plans and options throughout the day. The snorkeling was incredible! We saw tons of beautiful fish as well as turtles and sharks. However, the coral itself was the most stunning part. So many different types of coral, and all so beautiful.

A spectacular experience of the Great Barrier Reef

I have just returned from a day out on Low Isles. This was one of the best trips I have ever done. The boat, staff, attention to detail was fantastic. Right from the start, everything was perfectly planned. The talk by the marine biologist was detailed enough to keep everyone’s attention. The demo of the equipment and organisation of the glass boat tour, tour of the island and the actual snorkelling was perfect. All the family had the most spectacular day- one that we will never forget!!!
