Very interesting tour, highly recommend

A great activity if you appreciate natural wildlife, very reasonably priced aswell. We did this tour around midday and managed to find 4 adult crocs, one juvenile and a beautiful kingfisher. Very informative tour, interesting seeing the damage from cyclone jasper.

Fantastic wildlife experience

We had an amazing time, Mick is so knowledgeable, not just about the river but about the local area and the environment. We saw so much wildlife, plenty of alligators, some kingfishers to name a few. A fantastic river cruise at a very reasonable price.

Epic Experience!!

Such an epic time out on the Daintree River. Alan was a great guide! Super knowledgeable & very informative. Got to see 3 crocs and a turtle. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to see the Daintree wildlife in their natural habitat.

Fabulous cruise in a beautiful part of the Daintree

This was a terrific cruise that didn't disappoint. Mick our guide was terrific and full of information. We saw plenty of crocs in their natural environment.

Amazing wildlife and croc tour

Great cruise. We were made very welcome by Kiarna (apologies if this is incorrect). She was so very welcoming and served lovely refreshments. Winston was also a great host 🐶🐶. Mick the cruise guide was terrific. A wealth of local information . Exceptional value for money in beautiful tropical location. We were 2 of 4 people left for the return journey after 40 were dropped off at the cape so we had a personal tour on the way back from Mick and he kept us educated and entertained!!!!!

'Waya' to go! Wonderful experience!

Seeing crocs in nature, is the highlight of the boat ride. I enjoyed David's interesting commentary on river wildlife. Thanks for bringing your lovely dog, Waya. Thanks to the receptionist/office lady who is friendly and made us cups of coffee. The office also kindly rescheduled our tour a few times due to transportation difficulty. Very much appreciated. An excellent experience!

Friendly, knowledgeable and great value.

True Queensland hospitality began with a drink and a snack. Our guide on this beautiful river was knowledgeable, friendly and fun. We saw local crocodiles and wildlife from a respectful distance. Clean toilets and picnic area within tropical surrounds. Terrific value, highly recommend.

A Must Do Tour

Cheerful and informative tour. Keep your hands inside the boat. Friendly and helpful hosts. Free coffee. Previously have done this and saw more crocodiles the first time. Apparently it's a seasonal effect.

Don't miss this excellent Daintree River excursion

This was a special treat on our first trip to the far north. Our guide was so knowledgeable and a great communicator, explaining about the environmental issues experienced since recent floods, and showing us several different crocs and wild birds in their native habitat. The pre-trip refreshments were greatly appreciated on a hot day too. A big plus for going with this company is that you don't have to pay the river-crossing ferry toll to access their location. Highly recommended.

Great tour and service!

We called in to get 2 spots on last cruise of the day, and got a booking over phone half an hour before, making it just in time to be greeted by great iced tea🙂 the cruise had great views, and we got to see an enormous Scar face alpha reallly up close and spot a baby croc! Thanks so much!

Wonderful experience.

We really appreciated this company as they offered quite a natural excursion to see the Daintree River and wildlife. Our guide was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. We liked it that wildlife wasn't fed in order to bring it closer to us.

Peaceful setting

The boat captain was very informative and passionate about the river and wildlife. It was a peaceful hour spent on the river. Saw a few crocs but the flood in December has upset the bird life so very few were seen. A beautiful part of Australia.

Croc Tours

We really enjoyed the boat trip. Really friendly staff and great value for money. We saw several crocs of all sizes. They have a great picnic area to have a lunch break.

Excellent

Excellent, informative guide we saw some crocs and it was great to get some local background knowledge. Maybe bring along a raincoat though as we got a bit wet when we were not expecting rain. It is a rainforest after all 😂.

Absolutely loved it

Kianna and Alan were fantastic hosts, the cruise was so informative and we managed to find 5 crocodiles. 2 feeding 2 lazing about and 1 juvenile. Then we spotted a tree snake and various bird life as well as plenty of fish frolicking about. Alan's commentary was brilliant full of humour and facts about the area and eco system. An absolute must and very well priced. Not to mention a little birthday gift from Kianna for hubby. Very personalised tour which was incredibly well appreciated

Poor conditions, no crocs

The guide and ride where nice. The sighting of crocs. was none existent due to high tide and significant rainfall. I wish the tours would allow you to cancel given the conditions. When folks travel far distances to Australia, doing tours that don't provide the wildlife experience is a waste of time and resources.

Amazing Tour

Had an amazing trip. Saw 4 crocs despite being warned it was the worst time to see them (hot and high tide). The guide was very informative about the Daintree and crocodiles. He was very knowledgeable about the different crocs in the river.

Bang for buck

We had a great time. Our guide was very informative and had a real passion for his job and the environment he works in. He was determined to find us a crocodile or 2, which he did. Overall, well worth the money.

Great trip

Great trip down the river with amazing scenery, especially in the aftermath of the cyclone. Knowledgable host, well worth it.

River Cruise Feb 24

No complaints. Good guide, easy cruising and informative. We only saw one baby croc but that's what happens on hot days. The devastating effect of the cyclone was there to see

Perfection in the Daintree.

Such a good experience, from the welcome at the office to the guide to the scenery and of course the crocs! Everything was seamless and exactly what was promised. Highly recommend. We have done other croc sightseeing tours up here and this by far was the best.

We really enjoyed the...

We really enjoyed the boat cruise. We did it 2 weeks after the cyclone hit so it was very interesting seeing the destruction along the river bank. The guide was very knowledgeabe as well.

Pick a different company!!

Absolutely WORST tour we took during our entire vacation to Australia. This is a Daintree forest tour and guess how many facts were given to us about the forest? Zero. Nilch. Nada. The driver of the boat did not make an introduction, welcome us, say hello, point out a SINGLE crocodile!!! The one croc we saw was pointed out by a little boy. The amount of info that could’ve been shared is infinite - about the birds, the insects, heck even the cyclone and it was absolutely astounding to us that there was BARELY anything shared. Not even a period to ask questions. If the older gentlemen driving the boat was tired - he should’ve had the other workers who weren’t doing anything up at check-in to accompany him and do the talking. We drove 2.5 hours from Cairns and are shocked this company is still in business. Would HIGHLY advise anyone that doesn’t want to get absolutely jipped to go with another company!!

Very disappointed

Very poor. The guide was not really interested and had very limited knowledge. The only thing we saw, a heron, he missed and would not go back. We have previously done a Daintree river cruise with another company which was excellent.

Enjoyable river cruise

We had a most enjoyable river cruise yesterday during which we saw at least 4 large crocodiles! Our guide, Mick, was a fount of knowledge and made the cruise very interesting. Thank you Mick!

Best and Most Informative Daintree River Cruise

Wow, what an experience. Our Guide Craig found snakes in trees, unique bird life, and many crocs in our one-hour journey. Bonus he had a sense of humor, and made a huge effort to allow each person on the boat to get their pics. Local Daintree cordial was a refreshing treat as well. Highly recommend this adventure for everyone that visits the area. Awesome value for money xx

Informative Hour

The cruise was very informative, especially about the rainforest flora and fauna. Unfortunately we only saw a baby crocodile but our driver told us lots about those we didn’t see. It was a fun way to spend an hour.

Daintree experience

A fantastic 1.5 hour boat up the Daintree. Simply beautiful nature in its finest. We were lucky also to see a snake, 2 crocodiles and a rare Herron bird. If we didn’t see these creatures it would not have mattered as we were on the Daintree river enjoying nature and guided by a local expert. Highly recommend

Fantastic trip, out on the Daintree River.

Excellent hour out on the Daintree River. Our guide on the boat was very knowledgeable and was happy to answer any questions. He pointed out birds, snakes and a crocodile to us and told us all about the mangroves and trees that lined the river, in fact how he spotted them all was amazing in the dense mangroves and forest. Highly recommended short trip. The self drive boat we went on was nowhere near as full as the organised trips.

Excellent Daintree River Cruise

We booked the 9.30am cruise last Thursday and it didn't disappoint. Bruce our guide was extremely knowledgeable and a great sense of humour. All staff at the centre were welcoming with a hot cuppa prior to the cruise. It was our first time on the Daintree River and to see it up close as we did was fantastic. Well worth it and great value for money.

Friendly and informative with fantastic sights

This business are personable and friendly. The tour leader was informative and knowledgeable and the sights were fantastic. Make sure you arrive early for the tea/coffee and biscuits as well as the friendly conversation. Value for money.

Informative cruise that respects the environment

The best part was our whole group including my dog were welcome on this cruise. The tour included informative commentary and quite a few photo/video opportunities with different crocodiles and the local bird life. We were given the history of the area, information about the particular animals and recent developments in conservation in the area. We also got a light snack before the cruise including Daintree iced tea which was good as we had a lunch time slot. They also helped us get to our next destination as internet service was not available.

Family croc cruising

Lovely river cruise with a knowledgeable guide and the dog Tilly added to extra fun for the kids! We saw lots of crocodiles, a kingfisher, some lovely birds and the cruise was a relaxing time. We went midday, which is the least likely time to see anything, so would recommend later in the day or early morning!

Fun day for the entire family

Craig was funny and informative to the whole family. He has this great sense of caring for everyone and respects any questions. We only saw a few Crocs but my entire family really enjoyed the cruise which was safe, fun and very professional. The in-house greet team were also amazing. Must do the next time you are in the Daintree/Port Douglas area.

Good experience.

We had a great trip along a section of the Daintree with our young family. The guide had excellent knowledge about the mangrove eco systems and wildlife. We recommend for families with young children.

As good as ever!!

Been using Daintree River Cruise Centre since its inception. Had many a cruise with the legendary, laid back Lee and many others since. It never ceases to amaze us how good the guides are, making information on what we see accessible to everyone. It’s a wonderful cruise that’s lost none of its appeal over the years. See you again.

Friendly staff

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Went out of their way to help. Saw two crocodiles. Plenty of time to ensure all had seen the crocs and had time to photograph it.

Good trip, he had time before the next tour so spent time taking us further to look for more crocs. It rains often you may get wet! Croc feeding no allowed in QLD so don’t expect active jumping crocs. Saw

Fabulous Cruise, Fascinating & Educational

Great morning on the Daintree River. When you first arrive & are offered a free hot or cold drink by the lovely staff in the kiosk. Then you board the boat, and set off. The excellent guide was able to provide interesting & excellent information about the river, the plants the animals, the birds. I learnt so much and came away with an appreciation for how important this river is to the area but also to climate change.

Just do it!

Wow! We went with Daintree River Cruise centre’s trip on the river to check out the wildlife and crocodiles and came away impressed the Skippers knowledge of the river and we saw lots, highlight was the huge Croc they called Scarface that bugger would have no trouble eating a cow and more! Also great value for the money.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING

This was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had! The lady who checked us in is so warm and funny and will load you up on tea and humour. The skipper we had was so knowledgeable and also gave us a great laugh and experience. We spotted several crocodiles, tree snakes, birds and learnt so much about the mangroves and nature of the Daintree. I would absolutely recommend this cruise to anyone!! Well worth it. We will be back.
