Fantastic tour led by our guide Mick who was so knowledgeable and interesting. Genuinely enjoyed every minute of it thanks to his obvious interest and passion for the Daintree and the surrounding area. Would highly recommend!

Brilliant morning in the Daintree

Guide was very knowledgeable & the places were great, a swim in Mossman Gorge, albeit cold was awesome!!! Got to see a couple of crocodiles on the river cruise. Great value & everything was easy with timings as expected, thank you.

Enjoyable experience overall.

The experience was enhanced by a very good knowledgeable tour guide. Scenery was great with good explanations. We were dissapointed with the Tea, Coffee and accompliment.

Such a great trip. Matthew our tour guide was great. Mat has really good knowledge of the area, history, flora and fauna. He is also a great storyteller and made the experience really fun. Would recommend this tour - much better having a tour guide who can tell you so much about the area rather than just going it alone. We saw 5 crocodiles and had an amazing swim at Mossman gorge. So good!

Great experience

It was a great tour, our guide Mel was amazing and we got everything from the tour we wanted. Good transportation and lovely places and people.

Our family loved this tour! It was great getting picked up from our hotel. Mel was a very friendly, knowledgeable and fun tour guide. The river cruise was beautiful and we saw a few crocodiles! The rainforest and mossman gorge was spectacular. Highly Recommend.

Definitely Recommend

I had a great tour going to Mossman Gorge with the welcome to country experience, the daintree river cruise, the barramundi and tropical orchard tasting. Daintree Discovery tours from booking to the actual experience were awesome to work with. I came all the way from America, so I was really unfamiliar to the area. Everything was seamless and our guide (Mel) was incredible. I would highly recommend any of the tours this group offers. Im sure there all awesome!

All is well if You're with MEL!

5 stars Mel was the best! Loved her fun personality. She tried to get to know each of us personally, and remembered us. She was knowledgeable about the area, and made it interesting for us.

Mel and Discovery Tours

In spite of the rain, Mel made sure we had a fabulous tour. She was fun and very personable and knowledgeable! She was interested in each of us, a friend to all. 3 only saw 2 Crocs, but partly due to the wrong time of year. We saw lots of interesting birds and learned about the swamp. Mel took us to Mossman Gorge, and we saw an incredible rainforest and wild Mossman River, which Mel told us about and took pictures of us. I would highly recommend Mel and Discovery Tours.

Fun and memorable experience

Seeing the crocodiles was memorable. Even though it was a very rainy day, our driver Mel made the experience interesting and fun. Great half day trip, definitely worth doing. My grandson thought it was a terrific adventure.

Delightful morning.

Our driver/guide, Pear, was friendly and knowledgeable. Be aware that drinks (coffee or tea) are not allowed in the bus. We saw crocs on the river. The walk in the Mossman Gorge was beautiful. Strongly recommend this.

My sister and I had such an amazing trip with Mel as our guide ensured to make it such a memorable experience, definitely worth doing!

Best half day tour!

It was an excellent tour - Mick was extremely knowledgeable and made the tour for us. The half day tour was sufficient to give a very good overview of the area including the Daintree and Mossman Gorge. If you’ve got time, try the whole day tour. Do the Daintree

This was on our ‘To Do’ list and we finally did it! Port Douglas is the most chilled & amazing place we have visited in years. The town & people are lovely, great food & as much or little available to do. We chose the 1/2 day tour in the morning, a bit cooler than the heat of the day. Matt was our tour guide & he was great fun, full of facts & lots of ‘dad jokes’ to keep us amused on the 20 minute trip to the river. The Dai tree River cruise was again fantastic, we got lucky & had a 2m female saltie swim beside us for quite a distance, everyone got photos & videos. We are here after the cyclones so there was some damage to the mangroves that was painted out, with the high level of ‘ natural trash’ showing the height of the water. Then off to Mossman Gorge, where again Matt was a great guide, full of interesting facts. He showed us photos of the massive boulders that the water had moved, hard to believe as they were so massive. Got to swim in the Mossman River which was fun, although it is a bit chilly, so be prepared. Overall, cannot recommend doing this adventure highly enough, & if you get Matt as your guide, it will be a fun time.

A beautiful experience!

We did the afternoon Daintree Discovery Tour and would highly recommend! Our tour guide Matt was really knowledgeable and made the trip interesting and enjoyable with his commentary and fun facts. Saw so many crocs and cool birds on the river cruise and loved the Mossman Gorge walk and swim! We’re from Australia and really enjoyed learning things about our country that we didn’t know. Highly recommend

Perfect half day trip

Our half day Daintree Discovery Tour was just about perfect. Our guide, Matthew, was great - very knowledgeable about both the places we visited, but also about history, flora, fauna, etc. of the area. He made the usual tour guide type jokes, but delivered them in a self-mocking way so while groan inducing, they weren't too bad. We had debated whether to do the full day or half day trip - we were glad to do the half day because it seemed like the full day just added lunch and an extra tea time. While it was raining much of the time, we were in the rain forest - so you're going to get a bit wet anyways. The biggest impact of this was that the Mossman Gorge river was raging and it wasn't possible to take a swim. We would have loved to have seen more crocodiles during the Daintree River portion of the tour, but you "can't control mother nature." I would recommend this tour to anyone, and depending on the season, your experience could be very different. However, the itinerary and guide will be consistently great, no matter when.

We had an amazing day out with our guide Mick! Mick had so much knowledge of the area. By far the best activity we had on Port Douglas.

Not even the rain could dampen the experience

Despite the floods and rain, we saw everything on the Daintree River from crocodiles to butterflies, and Mossman Gorge was spectacular with the fast flowing water and misty rainforest. It would have been lovely to swim, but definitely didn’t feel like I missed out on anything. Mick our guide was a wealth of knowledge and a great laugh. Thank you!

Mick a lovely tour guide

Mick was a fantastic tour guide! From the very beginning gave us the knowledge that it was not safe to swim and felt that he was looking out for our best interests. He was very knowledgeable about the local area and made the afternoon very enjoyable! Have learnt some great things about the history and Australia. We were provided with ponchos to ensure we didn’t get wet when wandering through the tropical rainforest. We were very lucky to see crocodiles on the river cruse. And having afternoon tea was a lovely bonus. Thank you again Mick you have done a wonderful job sharing your love with this place with us.

Great way to see a lot in limited time

We are normally very independent travellers and do very few "tours", but for a combination of reasons decide to book on this tour. Guide was Matt and the group was very small just 11 people. It all worked very well and we experienced a lot in a short period of time. Daintree river cruise was first and that was very good and you really experienced the environment. Mossman gorge part was well organised with no waiting around for shuttle buses. Matt both pointed out a lot of insects etc (we would have never have seen thes eon our own) plus was very flexible to allow the group to do different things. 10 out of 10 !

Fantastic way to get a quick taste of the Daintree and Mossman Gorge, Peer was incredibly knowledgeable and had some fascinating stories!

Rain forest amazing River disappointment

The trip was too rushed. Felt like we were on a school journey. The guide was very knowledgeable but the Daintree river part of the trip was pointless due to the poor weather conditions and so we were rushing from one spot to another to fit everything in. Not really worth the money

Half day excursion

This was a really nice day! Matthew was our guide and he provided alot of information and had a good sense of humor. We started on a nature cruise. Although we only saw one crocodile, it was a scenic cruise and enjoyable. We then went to Mossman Gorge and the forest. Matthew guided us through and provided interesting information. A really nice day!!

Great trip

This was an excellent trip. Mick the guide was very convivial and knowledgeble and had a rich vein of the type of BS that s necessary to be a good guide.

Nice Tour, nice Guide!

The tour was amazing!! Kim was a great guide, full of passion he told us about the animals and vegetation. He also has a great eye for hidden animals. Very likeable! We had the tour in the morning and there were three of us travelling.

Excellent half day tour of Daintree river and Mossman gorge

Excellent tour. The right amount of time for such hot weather. Our driver host, Kim, was extremely hospitable, very knowledgable and engaged everyone. The river cruise was relaxing; saw 2 small crocs and I large one. The drive between the river cruise and Mossman is very picturesque and the Mossman Gorge is amazingly beautiful.

Daintree Rainforest-highly recommend it!

Daintree River cruise w/Bruce looking for crocodiles was highlight of excursion--Bruce has been doing this for 30+yrs and it's evident how knowledgeable he is and as well he has a great sense of humor!

Great trip

Kim was an excellent guide. Very knowledgable and a nice guy. Only saw a couple of small crocs on the river cruise as the flooding has had a huge impact on the river banks, with most having been washed away or covered in broken / uprooted trees. Seeing flood damage was, in itself, an eye-opener! They explained before the day that the Mossman Gorge was closed due to the flooding and replaced that part of the trip with a different rainforest walk (and allowed us to cancel if we wanted). We stayed with the trip and really enjoyed it. Experience would have been 5 stars if Mossman had been open.

Fabulous day

We both had a fabulous day out on this tour.We were picked up from our accommodation on time by the lovely Mel.How lucky are you to have Mel as an employee? A lovely lady with extensive knowledge of the area.We weren’t lucky enough to see a crock on our river cruise but still very enjoyable in the peaceful surroundings.We did see bird and snake species. Mossman gorge was beautiful in a rainforest setting.Water is very refreshing once you get in 😂I’d recommend this tour for travellers that don’t want to put in a full day as 5 hours was enough time to enjoy this beautiful area.

A fantastic introduction to the Daintree, it’s history and natural mysteries. Outstanding guided tour from Mick who’s amazing knowledge made the trip an incredible learning experience. Despite going in poor conditions we had a brilliant time- would thoroughly recommend.

Daintree river trip

We did the half day tour and Kim was our guide. He was extremely knowledgeable and and kept us entertained. A bonus on the River boat trip was seeing a massive Crocodile( realise we were lucky) also the swim in the gorge among rain forest was beautiful. Half a day suited us fine. Met some lovely people on our tour.

We booked a half day tour and got Matt as our tour guide. This guy was great and made the day memorable. His knowledge and passion was second to none and great sense of humour also. Fantastic day from pick up to drop off and he was difference. A+

Great safe swimming at Mossman Gorge

Great morning tour. Kim was on time with the pick up and provided lots of information about the Mossman area. Not many crocodiles visible on the river bank in October as they prefer to stay underwater in the heat. Recommend wearing your bathers on this tour or getting changed at the Daintree River facilities, first stop, as time at Mossman Gorge for swimming is short, around 50 minutes.

A very enjoyable tour

We did the 1/2 day morning tour with Peer and it was very enjoyable Peer made everyone feel welcome and had a vast knowledge of the area and was a great tour guide. Our dip at Mossman Gorge was so refreshing and Peer directed us to a quieter spot that was absolutely perfect.

Perfect day out

Perfect experience. Pick up from our resort, Matt the driver and tour guide was knowledgeable, funny and made it a wonderful experience. He took us to random stops along the way to share his knowledge as well. Our boat tour with Bruce Belchers river cruises was wonderful, they provided great knowledge and did their best to show us the local snakes, birds and crocs! Then we were taken up to the Mossman Gorge for a walk and play in the spring. A perfect day! Would highly recommend. Thank you Matt!!

Amazing half day tour exceeded our expectations

We had a wonderful experience doing the half day morning tour. Our guide Grant was so knowledgeable and friendly. Brett who did the river cruise was great too and we were lucky to spot 5 crocs. Highly recommend doing this tour! Highlight was the swim at Mossman Gorge, absolutely stunning and so refreshing.
