Great day out

We had a wonderful day exploring the coast and rainforest. Our guide Rod was very informative and made the whole experience so interesting and fun. Thanks Rod.

Wonderful day with Rod’s expertise on all matters flora and fauna. His in-depth knowledge and passion is inspirational. Great group size and from pick-up to drop-off a seamless experience. Having travelled extensively and especially in terms of wildlife trips, it was great to learn new things from a passionate guide.

Amazing guide

Roderick was a wonderful tour guide - his enthusiasm was infective and deep knowledge of the local fauna and flora was admirable! It was a solo trip and I really enjoyed myself. Will try to bring the rest of my family for a second experience!

What an incredible tour!!!!!!!

We had an absolute blast on this tour. It was definitely a highlight of our holiday. We had a phenomenal guide, Chris who made the day interesting and exciting the whole way through. Chris answered all our questions and was very knowledgeable and passionate about his work. The tour was well organised and the lunch included was very generous. We would highly recommend this tour.

Best way to see the Daintree Rainforest

The whole tour was absolutely fantastic. Rob our tour guide was so informative and answered every question with gusto. We saw heaps of crocs on the river cruise went to Thorntons Beach which was gorgeous and did ever so much. We chose chicken wraps for lunch instead of steak/pasta etc and they were the biggest and best I've had! My only complaint is the size they grow their spiders up here! Lol 10/10 💯

Well worth it.

We had Rod as our tour leader who was wonderful. We imparted so much local knowledge of different flora & Fauna and was extremely enthusiastic and entertaining with his personal stories and experiences. We thoroughly enjoyed our day.

Nice rainforest tour

this was a really nice tour. Gary was a great guide. Learned lots of cool rainforest facts and saw a very pretty rainforest. Saw some pretty coastal scenery. Lunch was nice. Saw some crocodiles on a river cruise Would recommend this tour.

Daintree Tour

The tour was a small group, so lots of attention. Our guide Chris was awesome, very informative about the the region, the science and had a lot of “awful” Dad jokes. He even stoped for ice cream. Only wish the tour was longer .

They call it rain forest for a reason

A great day out in an area we have never ventured before. Loved seeing the crocs, and probably better than trying to explore on our own in the park.

Just awesome, just do it

Everything was perfect. See drainforest deeply but comfortable, appropriate degree of activity, 5 crocerdiles we have seen with forest dragon. Can not be more awesome. More worth than its price!

A must do!

Great trip, a good small group. Chris the tour guide was very informative and had some great information for us all. Would do again!

A walk with Nature

right from the hotel pick up, Gary our driver and guide was on the job, dinner menu sorted straight away, then with the final pick-up done, we were on our way to the Daintree rainforest. Gary kept everyone on the tour informed as we were driving along to our first stop at Mossman Gorge. A change of busses for the short trip up to the gorge walk, being we were a small group(11) every one could hear what Gary was saying, he explained how high the river rose during the last cyclone, and how much rainfall there was. It was back to the bus for the drive to the next stop for morning tea, which was also the starting place for the cruise on the Daintree River cruise. The river cruise took us to the ferry crossing point on the opposite side of the river, on the cruise we saw saltwater crocodiles, Kingfishers and other birdlife. the cruise was at a slow pace and was from side to side, due to sand banks, the boat driver kept the boat steady that every one could get pictures of the many crocodiles that were seen. at the landing place Gary was there to meet us with the bus, we took to the roads again to our next stop (road work delays from the last cyclone) then onto our walk in the rainforest, it was a short walk about 30 minutes, it was an interesting walk with Gary answering any questions asked, the ground was on the wet side but not to bad, easy walking in some areas and more difficult in others, all in all it was good to get out of the buss and walk a bit to build up the appetite for lunch which was the next stop. lunch was served within 5 minutes of arriving and was enjoyable, back to the bus for a short drive to the sea/beach, about 15 minutes to stretch your legs again, then onto the ice cream place, ice cream purchased then onto the bus to eat it, drive back to the ferry crossing (no delay at road works) then onwards back to the pick up points. Thank you Gary for a memorable experience.

Definitely a must if you want the full Daintree experience

This was an incredible experience!! Our guide Chris was super funny and knowledgeable on every aspect of the trip. He also tells amazing stories to fill time in between sites.

Wonderful trip to Mosman gorge, Daintree & Cape Tribulation.

An exceptional trip !! Our tour guide Randell looked after us very well. He had great knowledge of the area so I learnt a lot. Only a small group tour so very personal. Great food. Well worth the money & experience. 👏😍

A wonderful adventure

We had the most amazing day. Our Tour Guide Randall was very knowledgeable and kept up a wonderful commentary. We saw a huge crocodile and 9 cassowaries including two juveniles. The stops along the tour were excellent and our lunch was at a great location and delicious. We did not have to queue or wait at any stop for refreshments. We all agreed it was a fabulous tour and would thoroughly recommend it.

Wonderful trip

Highly recommended. I don’t think it is typical but from our tour we had three guides including a native resident from a different company. All were very knowledgeable in different areas. Tour was well organized with lots of wildlife spotting opportunities.

Amazing day out in Daintree!

We had a wonderful, interesting, informative and memorable day in this wonderful part of North Queensland. It was a varied day with a river trip, walks, wildlife spotting and Rob our guide was very knowledgeable, answering all the questions and bringing humour to the day. We are so glad we took the trip and can fully recommend it to others, it’s well worth it!

Daintree tour.

We spent a very enjoyable day on this trip. Gary our guide was very knowledgeable. We packed a lot in, in the 9 hours. Saw lizards, crocodiles, birds, spiders and a cassowary. Would highly recommend Tony’s tropical tours.

Wildlife and knowledge galore

Randal was a great tour guide. We saw so much of the area in the time we had. Randal was full of knowledge on all the flora and fauna with an amazing eye at spotting wildlife meaning we saw loads and learnt loads during the drives and walking parts. On the boat we saw crocodiles of all shapes and sizes and lots of snakes!

Happily hit all the high points….

(Bit of a delay in posting this - traveling plus daughters is wedding!) We’re not big ‘take a tour’ people as we prefer our own pace and approaches, but the idea of driving, navigating and enjoying the views all-at-once meant this was one of the times we felt we really should get on a (small) bus. And we’re glad we did…not just for those obvious reasons mentioned but for the ability to pack in as much as this tour did….with excellent commentary and information, but also - and surprisingly - without it all seeming too rushed. The mix of activities made it well paced and continuously interesting. Early on in the day (btw being picked up from in front of our Airbnb in Port Douglas was a bonus) we were told that Cape Tribulation was off the agenda as the road was still being repaired from torrential rains weeks before. Our initial reaction was that we were not bothered as it seemed a long drive and maybe without a big reward. Well, as the day progressed our driver heard news that maybe small vehicles could get through after all…while that passage was definitely an adventure (!) in itself we were so glad to be proven 100% wrong with our original reactions - it did not seem that far and it was a stunning place. Overall we saw and did everything that was promised (including the joy of a rainforest rain storm during the boat trip!), learnt a bunch, and had a delightful day. We reviewed a number of the companies offering similar Mossman/Daintree/Tribulation day trips - while we can’t comment on the others we can say we were really pleased with our decision to go with Tony’s, as it had a great balance of activities, was not in some enormous coach, and never felt like you were part of just another tourist production line.

Well Worth It

We went on the early tour which is highly recommended as we seemed to beat the other tour groups to everything. Regular stops at interesting places. Especially recommend Daintree Rainforest, river boat trip, Cape Tribulation and the river swim. But best of all was our guide for the day - Chris. Incredibly well informed, very interesting and highly amusing.

An amazing day out

Our tour guide was the absolute highlight of the trip, he clearly cares about the rainforest and local area and was so excited to share his knowledge and passion with our group. He also pivoted amazingly when nobody was keen to go for a swim, and instead took us to a cape nearby where he could show us some more local flora and fauna. I left the tour feeling really lucky to have been paired with Gary and the rest of the group that we had. The river cruise was also exciting and led by another enthusiastic gentleman (I think his name was Rob?) who also shared Gary's love for the local area and wildlife. Both tour guides weren't put off by my follow-up questions and if anything, seemed happy that I and the group were interested! I highly recommend this tour company. As for any tips, I'd say: - Wear good walking shoes and a hat - Apply sun lotion - Bring some snacks to keep your energy up

Amazing Day in Daintree

We had an amazing day trip in Daintree walk tour, Daintree river Cruise, trip to Cape Tribulation ended with great Daintree ice cream. Gary as our guide made our day truly special, it’s great to see someone doing his job with such passion and joy. 11/10!

Wonderful tour of the rainforest!

My guide was awesome. He had a lot of knowledge about the rainforest and taught us so much. We didn't see a lot of animals, but it was due to the time of the year. Lunch was delicious. Pick up and drop off at my hotel was great!

A great day out in the oldest rainforest on the planet

A great way to see Mossman Gorge and Daintree Rainforest! Our guide, Randall, was brilliant (both knowledgeable and witty) and managed the small group (we were nine) extremely well. We had checked TripAdvisor before we booked and Tony’s is fully deserving of its very high rating.

Highly recommended day out

I had such a lovely day and would highly recommend to anyone . Our tour guide, Rod, was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. You can tell that he really loves his job! Had a great lunch in a gorgeous rainforest setting by a swimming hole which looked amazing but I didn't test it out. Didn't manage to spot any cassowaries but I'm sure I'll be back for a longer visit at some point now that I've had a taster of the area. Did see a crocodile though on the Daintree River cruise though so I was happy enough with that!! Overall a very enjoyable, activity filled day

Great rainforest and beach

This is a great day out. Quite busy but not rushed. The tour leader Rob was very knowledgeable especially on history, flora and fauna. All sights worth seeing, all activities worth doing. Morning tea was done really well. Lunch is sit-down (a picnic style lunch would have been nice). I do recommend this tour and tour company.

Great day out visiting the most iconic landscapes in the world!

Fantastic tour! Randall was so knowledgeable and entertaining, and the activities were outstanding. Wonderful opportunity to immerse ourselves in such amazing landscapes.

A Must Do … My Highlight of our trip !

Our tour guide Roland was amazing. He was very knowledgeable about the forest and all its many species and its geography and history of the area. . He was very entertaining and made this trip unforgettable!!!!

What a great day!

Would definitely recommend Tony's Tropical Tours. Our tour guide Randall was very friendly and knowledgeable, and was able to point out lots of wildlife that we would have missed otherwise. The tour is action packed and the private rainforest area was magical -- like being in Jurassic Park, which is an experience we would have missed out on if we had just gone to Mossman Gorge on our own. Plenty of food, drinks, and bathroom stops along the way, and we got to swim in a freshwater creek after lunch which really made the whole trip. The river boat trip was an added bonus, where we saw some crocodiles! It rained a little throughout the day, but only for 5-10 minutes at a time. Umbrellas are provided on the bus, but we didn't need them - the rainforest canopy is so thick, we were able to stay dry. One thing to mention - try not to book your tour on the last day of your trip to Port Douglas, as our original booking was cancelled due to lack of numbers booked on to the tour that day. Luckily we were able to reschedule, the staff on the phone were very apologetic and kind enough to re-book us for the next day.

Mossman Gorge and Daintree day tour.

Excellent tour with Gary to Mossman Gorge and Daintree National Park. Gary was very knowledgeable and kept everyone engaged. Great walks, lovely lunch and delicious ice cream to end the day.

A very special place

A remarkable place, guided by the equally remarkable Rod. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Walking is easy. Water is cold!! Only downside was no crocs.

Sit back and relax while being shown the sites

We had a wonderful day, weather was very sub-tropical but you are in a rain forest so what can you expect. Our driver Gary was very informative about the area and sites we were seeing as we went along. The devastation from the cyclone was immense but you can see nature recovering. Lunch and ice cream was amazing. Long day, but worth it.

Gary was a great guide and driver. The trip covered a lot of activities with a nice lunch. I appreciated the French press coffee at morning tea.

Wonderful Daintree trip

Wonderful trip with Tony's Tropical Tours. Impeccable organisation. We were picked up by Rod from our accommodation. Rarely have I had a guide who was so passionate and so knowledgeable. It made the trip extra special. Rod also gave us options of what we could do with our day. I would recommend this tour.

A very memorable small group tour of the Daintree rainforest!

Randall looked after us for our tour of the Daintree and he ensured it was a fabulous, engaging and insightful experience from start to finish. From making sure we were comfortable in the locations we explored, to just checking in for bathroom stops, he really paid attention. We were picked up from our accommodation in a mini bus and from this point Randall shared knowledgeable yet comedic commentary which kept the tour and time on the bus engaging and very much a part of the experience - not just a mini bus ride from one destination to another. Randall highlighted things that you would otherwise easily drive by and not notice if you were to do the journeys yourself. We learnt about the sugar cane industry, the devastating impact of the recent cyclone amongst many other interesting facts about wildlife. During the tour of the Mossman gorge, Randall had a sharp eye to birds, insects and spiders, yet again drawing our attention to wildlife we would otherwise have missed. The weather was on our side so we were able to make the journey to cape tribulation which is not guaranteed due to the destruction of roads following the cyclone, so we felt really lucky to have experienced this. We noted that some drivers did not feel comfortable making the journey to cape tribulation regardless of the weather, but having driven the route and seen the sheer drops at the side of the road, we can understand where this ambivalence comes from. Randall was confident in his ability to complete this journey and we felt very safe throughout. A boat ride across the Daintree river is included and this was great; our skipper again had plenty of knowledge and helped us to catch sight of two crocs dozing on the bank. You’re not guaranteed to see crocodiles as the temperature of the water can mean they prefer to stay submerged, so we felt lucky to have seen them. The lunch provided was lovely with a wide selection to choose from which is readily prepared upon your arrival at the restaurant. After lunch, Randall took us to a quieter safe place to swim away from the bus loads of people brought up from Cairns, again making this feel like a really individualised tour. We finished up with some lovely ice cream in a range of unusual fruit flavours that you otherwise wouldn’t try. We really recommend the tour and feel it is the best way to experience the Daintree rainforest! Thank you Randall for ensuring we had a lovely day.

Worth every cent!

My boyfriend and I booked this tour and it lived up to all expectations! Gary our guide was absolutely fantastic and really made the trip special. He was super knowledgeable and outgoing so we learnt a lot about our surroundings. We were so thrilled so be able to swim in crystal clear water and spot all the wildlife. I’m vegan and they catered for me SO well. I had a delicious morning tea and lunch, and the trip to the Daintree ice cream company was a highlight! Highly recommend to anyone coming to the area. It’s been the highlight of our trip. Thanks Garry!

Rainforest experience🌴🦋

Randall was very knowledgeable and a proficient driver. He pointed out wildlife we would never have spotted. Lunch was amazing too and morning tea muffins were yum 🌴🦋😎💗

Daintree with teens.

We are a family traveling with teens. This can be tricky to keep them engaged. Rod was our tour guide and certainly kept the engaged. He was very knowledgeable about the area and everything from bird, trees, plants, weather and so much more. He made the tour. He knew the best place to swim. Unfortunately we didn’t see a crocodile on the day but we were so lucky to see an elusive cassowary bird. Tick to my bucket list. Tony tropical tours. Rod is a valuable staff member.

Rob our guide was fantastic - super knowledgeable, friendly, respectful and always made sure we were always taken care of. I chose Tony’s based on outstanding reviews and that they cater more to smaller groups for a more personalized experience, which we felt also made for a standout experience. So many wonderful memories of our day visiting Mossman Gorge, the boat tour along the mangroves, rainforest walks. The tour ended with a lovely lunch and a swim in creek , followed by a delicious ice cream. A big thank you to Kirsty for helping us plan / book/ coordinate and Rob as our wonderful guide !

An unforgettable day!

Our review is a little late as we took the trip last August during our honeymoon in Australia and Bali. My husband and I were just saying how think of this day weekly back in rainy Manchester- it really was so special. Our tour guide Gary was brilliant- so knowledge and kind. We enjoyed taking a dip with him in the creek (photos attached)! Can't recommend this enough. Wish we could do it all again, we would be back in a heartbeat if it wasn't the other side of the world!

A lovely experience in spite of unusually bad weather

We only made it to Mossman Gorge, as the rain prevented us from going any further, which was a disappointment, of course, but nobody's fault. The road was flooded and closed intermittently, and the river was running too rapidly for any boat tours. This is a most unusual occurrence. Apparently, it doesn't even happen once a year. We enjoyed what we saw and found the driver/guide very informative and sympathetic. In spite of the fact that we still had enjoyed part of the tour and a nice morning tea we were given a generous refund. We were leaving the following day, otherwise we would have tried to go on another day with the same company.

Great experience

Great Experience- our guide Rod was so knowledgeable and a fantastic guide. We had a great time! The attractions were great- we got to see crocodiles- swim in a creek- long walk across the white sand beach where the rainforest meets the ocean… and the food was great! 5 stars

Overall great experience.

This was a great excursion in that it covered the highlights of the Daintree Forest in a day. Randall was an excellentl tour guide in that he was very knowledgeable as well as flexible in modifying the order of things to accommodate the weather and road conditions. The lunch spot was wonderful and the meal was great.

Perfect day trip

I highly recommend this small group trip. Going to the Daintree Forest and Mosman Gorge has always been something I wanted to do. My husband I had a wonderful day. Rod, our guide is very experienced, knowledgeable and passionate about the wet tropics. The day included a delightful lunch and stop for a quick swim in a mountain stream. Fantastic!

An informative, comfortable well designed tour

A day filled with new experiences and landscapes.

We had an amazing day and saw such a lot! Our guide told us a lot about the localities we travelled through on the way up to Daintree, and the forest walk was fascinating. He pointed out birds, creepies and the vegetation. Good value lunch stop with a swim in the gorge. So glad we were able to complete the tour as the road up from Port Douglas had been badly damaged by the storms and was being re-built. I should have liked to hear more about the aboriginal life - but to do that you need more time and access to an Aboriginal guide
