Scuba Diving for Non-Certified Divers at Catalina Islands & North Island - CR

Great non-certified diving course!

We did the scuba dive package for non-certified diver in early September. My wife and I loved the adventure! We got up early to do a pool learning session that taught us the basics and was enough for us to get comfortable. My wife and I felt very safe before going to the ocean for our dives. We had our instructor Ivan to ourselves to keep us safe and guide us. He was awesome! We got two open water dives that day. We saw tons of wildlife including all kinds of fish, eels, sea turtles, rays, and white tip sharks! We got a small rest between dives where they had fruit and cookies to refuel us. Overall it was a great experience for those looking to try diving without getting ur license yet.

Saw a whale, dolphins, tons of different fish, pudder fish, octopus’s, sea turtle, different types of eels, starfish…..

An amazing experience. Jose the instructor is with you all the way. Went twice and will come back again. 5 out of 5 stars..

Safety, fun, and underwater wonders - the perfect trifecta!

I just had the most incredible Discover Scuba Diving experience with Pacific Coast Dive Center! My instructor, Jose, was engaging and knowledgeable. He thoroughly covered the basic safety guidelines and skills in a pool beforehand, ensuring I was well-prepared for the open water dives. While there were six groups on the boat to the dive site, everything was organized, and it never felt chaotic. All the instructors worked efficiently together to manage the equipment, and each one clearly explained to their divers what was going to occur. The dives were incredible! I was fortunate enough to see a sea turtle, sharks, octopuses, moray eels, cornetfish, angelfish, puffers, stingrays, and more. Much of what I saw was thanks to Jose, who pointed out the octopuses that I definitely would have missed otherwise. After the dive, he took the time to discuss what we had seen, which added to the experience. Overall, I had so much fun and felt safe throughout the entire experience. Huge shoutout to my amazing instructor, Jose, for making this dive unforgettable. Safety, fun, and underwater wonders - the perfect trifecta!

Life Changing First Dive

If you want a life-changing spiritual experience without psychedelic drugs, I highly recommend the Pacific Coast Dive center. I went on my first dive alone with no prior experience, and was met by the warm, safe and professional guide Gaby. Even though I was initially very nervous, I quickly understood that my safety and comfort were top priorities, along with having a joyous experience. I got to join a boat of other divers and snorkelers and immediately felt taken care of and part of a cohort. Every step of the way, Gaby was by my side to offer me reassurance and care. I got to swim with turtles, sharks, eels, clown fish, sea serpents and even glimpsed a very rare manta ray. The Catalina islands are magical. Seeing under the sea is such an incredibly rare and beautiful experience that made me want to fight harder for this planet and its creatures.

Very good first time scuba dive with family

We were well taken care of the entire time. Our guides were very helpful, spoke good English, and took very good pictures (do charge money for them like all excursions though. Overall really good first time scuba diving and with no certification 👍

First and best scuba diving experience

I had an amazing time with Jose from Mallorca!! My family and I had never done this before and I am glad we had Jose help us out. The guy is very knowledgeable and caring, just like the rest of the staff. I highly recommend doing this even if you are unsure, Jose made use feel like we could do it and we did!

An amazing and unforgettable adventure!

We had never been scuba diving before, and had a fantastic first experience with Pacific Coast Dive Center, as they offer a beginner course for non-certified divers. We saw Pacific Spotted Dolphins, White Tip Sharks, octopuses, eels, and other awesome marine life. Delicious fresh fruit and snacks were served on board and everyone was very friendly. Our instructors, Gabi and Vivi, were outstanding! They were attentive and made sure we felt comfortable and confident every step of the way (especially the kids, 11 and 15), and took beautiful photos and videos. After the dives, Gabi also showed us all the species we had seen on a folding guide. We were totally hooked and are already looking forward to diving again!

Scuba diving

Went scuba diving today for the first time ever and had so much fun! Gabi helped me the whole way making sure I was okay and we got to see some cool animals. Definitely worth it !!

Excellent dive experience with Pacific Coast

We had an amazing diving experience with Pacific coast folks. Everything was made extremely smooth for us - starting from the communication, all the way until we finished the dive and left. Everyone at Pacific Coast was extremely helpful, patient, knowledgeable and very accommodating to our requests. Our diving instructor, Luna, is an excellent instructor - patient, and will walk you through everything until you are comfortable, which to us was very important as inexperienced divers. The dive was great, we were able to get some amazing views and sights, and we would highly recommend diving with Pacific Coast when you are in the area. Cheers!

Incredible Discovery Dive

The trip was absolutely amazing! My girlfriend (who is a certified diver) and I (never dived before) decided to do the discovery dive together. We had Jose as our dive master and he was absolutely terrific at teaching me the ropes and technicalities of diving. It also was a great refresher for my girlfriend who hadn’t dived in 4 years. The entire crew is super fun and professional, they get you out onto the water in a timely manner and make sure that you are doing well the entire time on the boat and in the water. Jose was especially good at calming my nerves being it was my first time diving. We saw multiple sharks, octopus, fish and eels. Both of our dives we did in open water were over 45 minutes so it is terrific value for the price. You also have a session in a pool before you go to open waters to become comfortable with the gear and some of the skills. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to get into diving as you get a real taste of the open water diving experience.

Awesome experience!

We had an amazing time diving with Eze - super great all round experience, boat trip, two islands and of course the dives! Eze and the whole team made us feel super confident with the dives and were really attentive (plus you get treats during the boat trip). Also I had such fun as a certified diver already who wanted to go with people who were not certified - we hope to be back ASAP!

Great times

The trip was wonderful. Unfortunately my ears were struggling with equalizing, but the guide Eze made it much better! I would definitely recommend this place.

Amazing Diving Experience, I swam with sharks!

I had an amazing experience diving off of Catalina Island. It was my first time diving, and as a sola female traveler I was a little nervous but the whole crew was great and I ended up loving diving. Jose was my group's instructor and he was fantastic and made sure we were safe the entire time. He showed us different wildlife while we explored and took pictures/videos that we were able to purchase for an incredibly reasonable price (bring cash). We saw so many different kinds of fish, a sea turtle, white-tipped reef sharks, octopuses, eels, rays, starfish, and pufferfish. I can't wait for my next dive!

Absolutely stunning view.

Actually, I did my Open Water Diver Course over 3 days, two of which were in the ocean. We did two dives each day, every dive better than the last. It was an amazing experience, Gabi the whole staff were super nice, caring and comforting. We saw soooo much underwater life, it really is amazing; turtles, sharks, all kinds of fish, octopus, even a seahorse. Can't recommend it enough.

Costa Rica Diving

Gabi was our guide. He was very instructive, motivational, and patient with us. His knowledge and experience allowed us to see a variety of sealife over the two dives he took us to. Nothing but a great experience.

Great Company, Great People and a Great Experience.

I went for a dive with this company and had the pleasure of having Luna and Vivi as my guides. They were very thorough and professional and ensured all of us were safe and had a great time. We got to see many schools of fish, a variety of marine life and they spotted numerous hard to see animals such as eels and baby nurse sharks hidden in the rocks. I felt like I was in great hands with two very experienced diving professionals and it was awesome that they were able to offer a service of capturing magic moments of my diving experience with their GoPro cameras. I’m grateful for the experience and will definitely be going back when in the Flamingo Beach area. Great Company, Great People and a Great Experience.

Great dive.

Great dive. Saw so many great things. Our guides Luna and Vivi were amazing. They totally made my kids, who aren't certified comfortable and we had a great time.

Best of best

Today was awesome! The office staff, captain, crew and dive masters are amazing! I dove with Sébastien. He took pictures of us that are world class. Everything about this operation makes you feel happy and at a bargain price on the nicest boat around!! I rate it a perfect 10. saw 9 white tips at the same time!! Sébastien found a dozen octopus, harlequin shrimp, lettuce leaf nudibrancs, and took great care of us. Highest recommendations.... From NILS!!!!!

Gabi was the best. Such a beautiful place to dive. He checked off quite a few bucket list fish off our list! Definitely worth going

This was an amazing experience! My family and I had Eze and Samu as guides and they were so helpful and made the whole experience very comfortable and so much fun. They take pictures for you that you are offered to purchase after and they are totally worth it they came out great!

Best Scuba Service in Costa Rica

This was the best diving experience of my life! I went with 16 friends and Pacific Coast Dive Center made it a super fun, educational, and comfortable experience. The entire crew was great, but the twin brothers Eze and Gaby went above and beyond when they led us on two discovery dives and did an amazing job spotting and taking photos of us with turtles, octopus, eels, sharks, and tons of colorful fish while making sure we were safe and having fun. They exceeded our expectations and I highly recommend you tour with them!

Good for all levels

Amazing tour for beginners and certified divers. Guides were great. Jose spoke really good English so it was easy for my kids to understand. I am certified and my 2 boys were beginners. Did 2 dives off a good boat and saw a lot of wildlife.

Great time!

Me and my partner had an amazing trip for our first ever dive. I was nervous because I’ve never dived, but today was great. This company really works hard to make sure you feel safe in a pool before getting in the ocean. The dive professionals are extremely kind and approachable. I felt much comfortable with diving before we even got in the ocean. We were paired with diver Jose who was extremely welcoming. Throughout the dive we saw soooo much and I felt safe. I was nervous that it’d be extremely difficult, but it was a great time and I felt prepared if anything happened. Absolutely recommend getting this tour!!

Great experience as a first-time diver

This was an amazing experience. It was my first time scuba diving and everyone with Pacific Coast Diving, especially our instructor Jose, were super accommodating and engaging. We saw amazing wildlife thanks to them and I will certainly be coming back to do it again!

Most amazing experience

Today I went scuba diving for the first time and it was honestly one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had. I was very excited but equally as nervous. The entire team was great! I was paired up with Gabi and he was so patient with me that my nervousness melted away. He gave me step by step instructions and stayed with me throughout. Not only was he my instructor but he was my photographer as well. He took a ton of pictures for me to share and remember the experience. We saw sharks, eels, an octopus, and a ton of fish. I can’t even describe in words how amazing this experience was! If you are thinking about it definitely do it!

This was my first experience diving and it was amazing. We saw a variety of animals and my guide Sebastian was amazing to help calm nerves and learn the ins and outs of diving. Overall a great experience!

1st time divers

We were first time divers and Luna was our instructor. I definitely had some first time diving anxiety and Luna helped me work through that and she did a phenomenal job! We saw a ton of beautiful fish, a shark, eels, and an octopus. Overall great trip and 100% recommend diving with Luna.

Gabi was awesome!

Our first time scuba diving was a great experience. They took great care of us. Our instructor, Gabi was very helpful. He explained everything from before and made us feel very much at ease. For first time divers, I would totally recommend Gabi as the instructor.

Amazing experience! Our group dove with the twins, Gabi and Eze. They were very knowledgeable and helped us all to feel comfortable and confident in diving. They pointed out so many amazing animals underwater including octopus, a scorpionfish, sharks, and eels. Thank you Gabi and Eze!

Amazing excursion

An amazing trip! Such amazing views below and above the water. We had the Twins (Gabi & Essa) as our guides and they were awesome and so patient with all of us both during our lessons and on the dives. The entire crew was very friendly and helpful. For a group that had never dove in open waters, this was a fantastic experience!

Gabi is the best!

The whole experience was phenomenal! I was nervous, as I've never dived before, but Gabi made the experience seamless, or like he says, "easy peasy". :) I would happily do this 10x times over. I felt safe and competent the entire time after the practices Gabi gave us. We saw so much marine life as well, ranging from sharks, puffer fish, starfish, eels, a turtle, an octopus. We can't wait to go again!

Not disappointed!

We made the right decision booking our scuba trip with Pacific Coast Dive Center. The staff was phenomenal! Especially our dive guide, Eze. I hadn’t scuba dived in over 20 years and my wife and son had no experience, and Eze made the whole experience smooth and seamless! We were all a little nervous and Eze walked us through everything and totally calmed our nerves. He especially helped my son who at first had some issues equalizing his ears. He worked with him patiently and got us all exploring and we saw a white tipped reef shark, octopus, moray eels, crabs, starfish and so many tropical fish. I’d highly recommend to beginners or experienced divers!

Eze was an awesome scuba guide! I was so nervous and he helped me calm down so I could fully enjoy the experience and get the best out of it. Highly recommend, especially for new Eze

Luna is the best instructor. She did an excellent job making my teenage daughter and friend comfortable with diving for their first time. As an experienced diver, I chose to tag along and she led us on a great two tank dive. Thank you Luna!

Costa Rica Scuba Diving

Gabi & Jose are the best! I was a 65yr old 1st time diver, I’ve snorkeled but never been down deep. Gabi literally held my hand to make sure I wouldn’t panic and enjoy the experience. Saw sharks, sting rays, eels, turtles and lots of color fishes. Thx again Guys!

Me and my partner went on this scuba diving activity and had the best time! Our instructor Luna was so patient, kind and fun! She was able to help me feel my most comfortable with such a new experience! I would definitely book this activity again! It was a very memorable experience!

A once in a lifetime experience!!!!

Victor and his team are the absolute best!!! He treats you like family and always puts your safety, while simultaneously allowing you to relax and enjoy the experience without any anxiety at all. I would go every week with him if I lived there. A must for anyone in the area, whether visitors or residents!! They trained me in the pool beforehand and the crew was so so so kind. It was such an effortless experience and a once in a lifetime opportunity.

I had a fantastic time! I had never gone scuba diving this, so I was a little nervous. But the in pool training was reassuring and I felt very safe on the open water dives.
