Worth trying in Phuket

Nice people - good combination of menu. We join as a whole family, they provide clear instruction and interact with my parents, we enjoy our lunch (our own cooking) afterwards. The staff are very kind to provide assistance.

Great experience

Very Nice chef and lovely food. Will definately recommend this experience for other 🤩 We did the 4 different meals, and each of them was great. Dont be affraid if it will be too spicy - they will ask how you like it and adapt.

Good fun

The class was well organized and all the ingredients were prepared in advance and covered with foil, to keep insects away. The chef was very kind and tried to explain everything, but there was a bit of a language barrier present - we would have loved to know more about the food and culture, and to be able to have more of our questions answered. It was still good fun! There is a big garden behind the cooking station, where they grow their own bananas and coconuts, which was cool to see. There were a lot of mosquitos too, but the staff kindly provided us with a bug repellent, and we really enjoyed cooking outside (might have gone for a long sleeved clothing next time). One thing we thought could be better were the menu options, which are either heavy on coconut milk and raw leafy vegetables (and we tried to be cautious with eating raw food) or fish. Also, although raw ingredients were covered with foil, the meals we cooked were not (we cooked meal by meal and once we were done with everything, then we ate it). That also meant that most of our food was cold by the time we got to eat it. That was a shame. There was a strong push at the end to have our photos taken for marketing purposes. We politely declined, but were still asked continuously from different staff members, which felt a bit unnecessary and pushy. But overall, we did enjoy the cooking part of the experience.

Very enjoyable class

This was a fun, private class to do with friends where we got to cook 4 Thai dishes - all the ingredients were prepared and portioned so it was fairly simple. The chef and other staff were great and very helpful. The setting was beautiful and it was great we got to have lunch in the restaurant overlooking the garden. The portion sizes of the dishes are huge though, so be prepared to eat!

Cancelled :(

We arrived for our experience (which did not come with transportation) 15 mins early since we were staying about 45 mins away and accounted for traffic. Unfortunately somehow our class was cancelled and were told we cancelled it and I showed confirmation messages. When I saw the email confirmation the lady was referring to it had different names on it, not ours. It was an inconvenience to have to hire driver to and from and to have it cancelled with no warning. We wasted 1/2 day in Phuket when we could have enjoyed something else.

Fat & Happy and would do it again

The trip from Patong took around 30 minutes with the cooking class located at a Wellness Retreat. This is not a resort by any stretch of the imagination it is a very traditional building with beautiful Thai architecture. My friend and I were the only 2 booked for the 11 am session, so got all the attention. The classes take place outside in a pavilion with plenty of fans. Still hot, but where isn't. We were stepped through 4 dishes from Menu B with all the ingredients already prepared for us and a gas burner to cook on with a wok & saucepan. The chef, Nok, and his helper were great and spoke reasonable English for conversation and instructions to be understood. They went at a really good pace for this novice and the dishes were easy to prepare. Upon completion our meals were taken to the restaurant where we were given rice and a drink and ate our creations. They were surprisingly delicious. TIP: Don't eat before going. We received our certificates and got a photo with Chef Nok before we left fat & happy. Taxi costs around 600-800 THB one way. Would I do it again? Absolutely.

Fun Cooking Class

Chef Jim was fun and funny. Learned quite bit on Thai food and ingredients. Our 12 year old had no problem to follow every cooking steps and cook on her own. We had a good time!

10/10 cooking class, lovely staff

Had an Amazing time in this cooking class, the staff were very kind and accommodating to beginner cooks. The recipes were easy to follow and used fresh local Thai ingredients, also very delicious at the end! I would recommend skipping breakfast as there is a lot of food by the end of this class

Worst cooking class ever

We went as a couple to participate in an individual interactive cooking class as we paid for 2 people. Upon reaching to the class was told that they weren't sure a booking was received and there was a miscommunication from viator and the Spa. The front of house then was like was new and took us through to the outside area where a set up was done for this class. The chefs didn't speak english even though it is advertised as a english speaking class. The front of house became our translator and started touching our food/ingredients without washing his hand and making his own steps which differed from the head chef. I was mostly annoyed with not being able to cook separately as an individual and had to just support my bf cooking like a kitchen hand because they wanted only one of us to cook. I've done other cooking classes in phuket and would rather recommend people to book any other class then this.

Must do cooking class.

We are staying at the Haian Beach resort for 6 nights. Today we decided to book the cooking class amongst 4 friends. The guide, Chris picked us up and we went by taxi to a local market to pick up the cooking ingredients. The experience of going to the market was awesome! We went through the clothing/souvenir section to where you order and pickup your meat in front of the butcher, then on to the seafood section, then to the noodle section and finally(and best, imo) the fruit and vegetable stands where Chris was able to explain everything to us. He took us to a coffee place for an iced cold Vietnamese coffee which was phenomenal! We bought the local coffee to bring home! We returned to the hotel where we met up with Tony, the F&B manager and 2 sous chefs who showed us how to make an authentic Vietnamese meal consisting of spring rolls (to die for), lemongrass kebabs, and meatballs and noodles. Sooo good! They supplied us with the recipes and we had a wonderful half day experience for approx. $40 Cdn per person. This was my favourite tour thus far, and a “must do” if you’re in Vietnam!!!

This was a really good activity, the staff were patient and knowledgeable, providing information on both cooking techniques and local customs

The best experience!

What a fun experience!!! Omg me and my friends did this cooking class and it was located in the most beautiful spot. Chef Kamolthip and her sou chef were the absolute BEST! Incredibly friendly, kind, accommodating, and SUPER informative. Every meal she explained the directions perfectly, gave us context/details on the meals, and helped us practice our Thai. and on top that the meals we made were sooooo delicious, we wished we could eat more but we were stuffed because everything was so good. One of our favorite things we did on the whole trip! Thank you so much Chef we loved it!!!

Amazing!

Had the best time! My friends and I signed up for this cooking class because of the reviews and I'm so happy we did. It has been one of our best experiences yet, we had Kuhn, she was a super talented chef and was so patient with us. I feel like I actually learned so much from her and all of the food she taught us how to make was delicious. She gave us menus to take home so we can recreate the meals later. The setting of the cooking class was also gorgeous, we were outside for it and it only added to the experience. So incredibly grateful for this experience, and big thanks to Chef Kuhn for her skills, knowledge and patience!

Great experience

Located in a beautiful spa compound setting, we had a great time, learning to cook and getting to eat. We all learn't some new cooking techniques, that we can take home with us and also some fine details about local vegetables and spices. Highly recommend a visit.

Absolutely amazing experience, we got a 1on1 lesson, everything was organized and explained perfectly. We had a lot of fun, learned a lot and had a great dinner on top! 100% recommended

Totally recommend

We prepared 4 dishes in 1,5 hour and I didn’t feel like we were rushing. This leaved us approximately half hour for eating. It was perfect amount of time for cooking and learning about Thai kitchen. The chef spoke good English. Would recommend!

Cooking Class in Phuket

It was an awesome experience! Our chef was attentive and informative about the ingredients and the dishes we prepared. Everything turned out delicious! Now I feel confident I can make some of my favorite Thai entrees.

Take the Class!

Unexpectedly, we had our own private cooking class. What fun! The chef and staff was wonderful. The food was expertly cooked (if I say so myself). Definitely a to do while here.

Wonderful Thai cooking class!

Lovely experience. Welcomed nicely at reception with welcome drinks, then taken to cooking area. Chef spoke good English, answered loads of my questions. They grow there own herbs in the gardens. We got sprayed with mosquito spray before starting (spray yourself in some of your own too if you have some) then for cooking. Everything organised well and ingredients ready for use. We made so much food and ate so much it was such a nice afternoon! Definitely worth doing whilst in Thailand you also get a certificate at the end.

Highly recommended

The whole experience was very well organised, from ingredients to dishes, etc. They have their own herbs garden and the chef speaks very good English. She even sprayed us with a spray for mosquitoes before going in. Like I said, it’s worthwhile and highly recommended ! The end result is a lot of delicious food so maybe ensure you go in with empty stomachs (we didn’t and it resulted in a fair amount of wastage 😕)

Great cooking class

Extremely nice cooks. They were very well prepared for the class. During the class things were explained very well and hints were given. We had fun and learned a lot. Clear recommendation!

Eating what you cook

Affordable and great experience. Food we made was great and tasty. Not bad for first time chefs! The facilitator and assistant was very helpful and all the ingredients are already prepared for you.

One of the best things we did in 3 months of travelling. We were half an hour late and everyone was very understanding. Food was amazing, very well organised. We were left afterwards to eat in our own time too which was very special and such a relaxed environment. Definitely definitely would recommend this to anyone!!

EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE … GET BOOKING

Arrived a little late but welcomed beautifully with these Pandan appetisers. This was part of a birthday gift for my partner, and he loved it! Very fragrant but pure & fresh. The Chef was Brilliant, amazing culinary skills and definitely with a vast amount of knowledge. We went with Menu A; everything was cooked in surplus so not only were we stuffed after cooking, we had loads packed to take away with us. The cooking process was super fun, we learnt soo much about the herbs and frequently used cooking techniques and flavours! Myself and my partner took turns on each process, we weren’t rushed at all and really enjoyed this the most during our stay in Phuket. Who knew you can make soo many dishes in such a short space of time, I definitely didn’t! Time and afternoon we’ll spent. We are absolute foodies. We enjoyed all dishes thoroughly but that Sticky Rice with Mango was DELUXE! Thank you team at Suuko Spa

Great value for money & time well spent!

I thoroughly enjoyed the class! The main instructor (she had 2 assistants to help clear and clean the used dishes -- basically keeping the cooking stations clean) was really engaging and her class was really easy to follow. This is coming from someone who has only very basic cooking skills (can confidently cook 1 simple pasta dish and instant noodles only). The main instructor is the only one who can speak conversational English, but all 3 of them are really friendly and approachable. The main instructor welcomes any questions about the food and Thai culture in general, and is easy to talk to. The food serving was huge too; sadly, my 2 friends and I could not finish all the food we've made (which was admittedly very delicious!) although we haven't eaten since 8am that day (the class ended a little past 5pm). However, do beware of the many mosquitoes that will attack you throughout the class. Our class was conducted in an open but sheltered shed, and it had been raining heavily throughout the day. Luckily, before the class started, the assistants sprayed some sort of essence/repellent on our exposed limbs. That said, don't be afraid to ask for more repellent at any time of the lesson as the staff is more than happy to make your experience there as comfortable as possible!

Masterclass Thailand

Super well organised cooking class We made four dishes from scratch. The chef lady makes the class very enjoyable by her knowledge on Thai cuisine. Interesting to learn the basics for making various dishes such as green curry , fish cakes and stick rice. Lots of different ingredients to combine to get authenitic taste, which you get to try at the end. The event takes 2-3hours from start to finish and is very good value for level of attention, quality and variety of fresh ingredients. Highly recommend if you are looking for something to do on holiday.

Short cooking experience...well worth it.

Sukksa Spa Cooking Class was fantastic. Would recommend to others. Only one we could find that was a few hours and that's all you need. Choice of 5 four course menus. Excellent staff and great experience. DO IT!

Best Thai Cooking class

The cooking class is well structured with ingredients menu provided at the end of the class. The instructor is really friendly and conducted the lesson well. The class is suitable for beginner or anyone who is interested to learn Thai food. Highly recommend as part of the itinerary in Phuket.

Fantastic experience

Really great experience, cooking tradition Thai dishes which tasted amazing and with very easy steps, tips and a recipe card to take home. The class teacher was very friendly and welcoming too. We had a great time!

Amazing cooking class!

Amazing class in beautiful venue. Food was delicious and we loved learning how to make authentic Thai food. Chef was very helpful and friendly and we had so much fun. Chefs hat and certificate was a lovely bonus! Highly recommend. 😀

Best Cooking Class in Thailand

Its really worth it! There Are really kind and friendly... The Thai Cooking Class was amazing! Step by step there showed us everything! And after that we took a massage and the day was Perfect!

Great experience!

What an awesome experience! Just an awesome setup and learning experience. The chef would show us, then we would make the dishes. The venue is beautiful and the people are so sweet. I was concerned because this was half the price of other half day courses, but it was way above expectations. Would highly recommend

Simply superbly organized! Very successful!

I booked the cooking course with a 4-course menu for me and my dad. It was really well organized, we were greeted with a friendly coconut soft drink and then accompanied to the open kitchen, where 3 chefs welcomed us. Everything was already prepared on the 2 gas stoves provided for us. Everything was explained in detail, so that I only had to translate very little for my dad. Everyone spoke easy-to-understand English. The food was also beautifully presented, and explained how to serve it on the plates so that it looks nice. We then ate our menu in the restaurant. At the end we got a photo and a certificate. A great day! We'd be happy to do it again, highly recommended! Thanks again to everyone involved!❤️
