This class was so fun! Very laid back environment, loved that the whole family was around helping and best of all, the food was SO YUM! I had pineapple rice our first night in Thailand and wanted to learn to make it so I can make it for my family. We weren’t able to finish all the delicious food but were offered to take it with us to go. Definitely recommend this experience in Phuket!

Great cooking for first time Thai

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and plenty of it . The cooking area is not air conditioned so be prepared to sweat a bit. The location allows each person to pick their own dish which I thought was cool , but it got a bit confusing when they try to teach multiple dishes at one time and its hard to understand with the language barriers. The market tour was amazing and we enjoyed it a lot. The guide is very sweet and she did a good job its just difficult to hear in the loud market so we missed a lot of interesting information. I would do it again but I would do a private class to get more out of it.

Great Cooking Experience!

This was a great tour! We visited the market and then prepared our own Thai dinner. The green curry was my favorite dish! Recipes were included and it was so much fun!

Thai Cooking!

My husband and I had a great time in this cooking class. The tour took us to a local market to shop for our ingredients and then to a kitchen to make our meal... Pad Thai, Green Curry, Mango w/ Sweet Rice. All very easy to make and so delicious. Our guide was so fun and knowledgable about cooking! We'll be cooking our own Thai food when we return home!

Great morning

Really good trip. We booking the morning session and we were collected from the hotel on time. Went to the market to collect our ingredients & our instructor explained about all the ingredients, very informative. Then we were taken to the kitchen/classroom This area was clean and tidy and well equipped. We cooked a total of 4 dishes - all delicious. Great 4hrs - would highly recommend this if you wish to understand & improve your thai cooking skills more

Very informative and fun

Great instructor, curricula is a great balance between basic background and practical hands on. Clean, well equipped, transport was on time…all great, learned a lot!

One of my favorite Phuket experiences!

My son and I took Karn's cooking class and had a wonderful time!!! She is lovely, warm, and knowledgeable. She was super accommodating since I am a vegetarian and she gave me many veggie options. The food was amazing! We enjoyed the shopping with her, the whole learning experience, the cooking stations, and the leftovers. I would highly recommend Karn's class to anyone!

Great experience!

Such a good class! Made 4 dishes and got to enjoy it all at the end. The amrket tour was interesting also and pick up / drop off was a good touch too

Best Cooking Class

This was an amazing experience. She was so kind and funny from the minute she picked me and my wife up. She took us to the market which was also a great experience. It seemed like everyone knew her there. The cooking was fun and informative and TASTY. 10/10 must do it again!!!

Would do it again

The short shopping in the local market and the following cooking was a great experience. We got a lot of information about thai cooking and could practice the whole cooking process. The atmosphere was great and we could laugh a lot. You really have to be very hungry, as everyone makes its three dishes. It will be a lot of good food. Would do it again.

Great Cultural Cooking Class

Omg great experience! Karn was sooooo funny. She took us to the market and explained all of the food items we'd be using and walked us through step by step how to cook them. I never thought I could cook Thai food better than the restaurants back home (USA). Wonderful experience- highly recommend.

Amazing cooking class!

It was only five of us in class, and it was a very intimate setting. When Karns friends came to help, they set up every single plate for us so that we didn’t get confused. She was so sweet and even allowed my daughter to take part and cook her own. We did more than just learn in this class, we traded cultural differences, we had uneasy convos, and everyone left full, satisfied, and with their own serving of each dish. She and her team really made this a pleasant experience. We would do this again on a different day just to be around Karn and her team again. You would have an amazing time because we definitely did. Thank you!

Great Experince.

It was a good experience. The Market Tour was fun. She explained about the difference of why we use the particular ingridients and its substitues. She has an excellent sense of humor. I was hesitant since I was going by my own but she made me comfortable.

Disappointed

Very disappointed with this cooking class. Garn was very disorganised on the day of our course. I didn't find this cooking class hands on enough. I have previously done other Thai cooking courses in Thailand over the last 20 years. One of the recipes printed out had all the ingredients missing on the page. Also found another recipes she was making was different to what was on typed page. Ingredients missing. Very confusing. We all sat at a long table and had to cut up different vegetables for her to make the green curry paste in a blender. There was no asking anyone to wash their hands before cutting up the vegetables. We then went into kitchen (were asked to wash our hands) to cook our green curry. Later went back into kitchen to cook our Pad Thai noodles - best I have ever tasted. We didn't get to make or cook the chicken satays. The kitchen helpers did all of this. We did get to see how the satay sauce was made. Although she had forgotten on key ingredient when at the markets prior to the cooking course. So we had to wait for her to get on her bike and get it and come back. Meanwhile we sat around waiting. To make matters worse, she had completely forgotten about the dessert that was made and asked everyone did they want to take it home with them as "take out" as she had run out of time. Not enough time spent hands on. Too much time sitting around waiting. All around disappointed in this for the price we paid - would have expected more.

Fabulous food and tuition

I am no cook and would not believe within a few hours that I could cook such lovely food! Ghan, was very personable, informative and funny. We had a great time. We booked direct with her and we were the only people so we had a choice of what we wanted to cook. Great day all round, thank you. Blyth, Boo and Reuben

Fun, yum and authentic

Our day started with pick up from our hotel with the “chef” and her car. She was lovely, warm and friendly and put instantly at ease. The market was amazing and not at all (thankfully) what we were expecting. There were no overpowering smells or confronting sights. Beautiful, fresh and exotic fruit and veggies, flowers, seafood, chicken, spices and curry pastes. Our “teacher” had excellent English and a fun, cheeky sense of humour. She welcomed us into her home and “her kitchen, her rules” 😄. Her instruction was the perfect mix of insight, education and involvement. You do NOT need to wonder if you will have enough to eat, there is so much delicious food which you have created and get to enjoy. We cooked Pad Thai, Spring Rolls, made a green curry paste and a chicken curry with it and finished with a delicious sticky rice and mango. Was great for 2 capable cooks but something the family could enjoy together if the kids were interested. Basic knife skills are all that’s required. Highly recommend. I suggest a light breakfast/lunch depending on your class time.

Brilliant and fun.

I took my Dad along to do this with me. He was hesitant to go but he loved it as much as me. The markets are fascinating, the ingredients are all so fresh and full of flavour. The Thai cooking hosts were very friendly and explained things really well. Would definitely recommend.

Amazing experience

Amazing cooking class - would 100% recommend. Included a trip to the market too which was fun. Teacher spoke really good English and had good sense of humour! We left with the recipes too and some dishes to take home with us.

Interesting and informative market tour followed by preparation of easy dishes with Bui and her niece. Highly recommend for a fun morning!

Humble, knowledgeable, feels like home

I would highly recommend if your visiting puket! Nothing but positive energy and a great learning experience. The group we were in was very pleasant and diverse. No matter your origin of culture we all came together as one to learn the traditional way of thai cooking. Sorry for buring the shallots!!!

Great experience

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the cookery course. The market tour was fascinating with so much to see and then we learnt how to prep the ingredients and to make several Thai dishes. Our teacher made the whole experience interesting and entertaining and we finished the afternoon by eating what we had made. It was delicious! Many thanks to our teacher and her hardworking niece for such an enjoyable time.

Was a great family experience. We all had an amazing time and was great to all cook together. We highly recommend if you are in Phuket.

Awesome Thai cooking class and market tour - highly recommend

We loved this cooking class & market tour. Karn picked us up from the hotel and we went straight to the local market to collect the ingredients for our recipes which was a great chance to see all of the different fresh Thai produce. We then drove to the cooking school which was clean and well organised. As we were the only people on the day we got to pick our own menu and decided on spring rolls, Penang curry, pineapple fried rice and banana fritters. Karn was an excellent teacher helping us to first prepare all of the ingredients and then cook all of the dishes. All of the dishes were really easy to make and the end result was a delicious feast, some of the best Thai food I’ve eaten. I highly recommend this fun and educational cooking class.

A must do experience

We had a lovely morning with Kam. She and the driver picked us up and our first stop was the market where Kam took time to explain the different items that we needed. It was so interesting. After shopping for the ingredients we arrived at her place and started cooking. We produced some lovely dishes and Kam was so funny and kept us entertained and engaged. Definitely a must!

Great experience

It was great fun. Very funny cook. We were picked up from Kamala Beach and brought back. First a stop at the market, where we were shown local ingredients. We chopped everything together, everything was explained well and then we cooked and ate everything together. Very tasty! There are certainly many cooking courses, but I can recommend this one without reservation!
