The whole day was incredible. The trip is very well organised, the scenery was spectacular, we all loved it from start to finish. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food was some of the best we had on the holiday and it is great how soft drinks are included too. Definitely a must do activity.

Highly recommended

This was an excellent trip. I booked directly with the company via email. We were picked up from our hotel on time and taken to the pier. The entire trip is well organised and professional. The leader, Sun and the team ensured that everyone was safe and well taken care of. The scenery is spectacular. The food was delicious- lunch, snacks and dinner are served on board along with soft drinks. Overall, an fabulous day out. Highly recommended.

a wonderous trip indeed

It's clear that these guys have been in operation for a long time as they have managed to curate a beautiful and enjoyable tour to a memorable and photogenic little piece of paradise. There's an easy ambience with the friendly and attentive guides who clearly love their jobs, and my guide Tee was incredibly knowledgeable and fine company. the food was lovely, the boat well equipped and transfers went smoothly. highly recommended. thank you. expect to be uplifted by the beautiful surroundings

Wow, mr eew was the hostess with the mostest. All class from beginning to end. We learned a ton, got phenomenal photos and had great food.

Absolutely amazing! We loved every second of this and so much more than we expected. We had Zachary as our guide and we had the best time with him. He made it so special for us and even with it being a group tour you felt it was personal. He took our phone for us to take pictures and helped us look for different nature things and birds. Highly recommend to anyone going to Phuket! loved every second- thank you Zachary!

So good !! There were 23 people on our boat but there was plenty of room

Pick up from the hotel was prompt, the 60 minute transfer was very comfortable! Arriving at the reception area I was filled with dread as there were 43 other people there! However we were divided in to 2 groups to go on 2 separate boats. We had cancelled the James Bond speedboat tour for fears of being treated like sheep and I’m glad that we did ! The boat was large with the upper deck for tourists and the lower deck for the kitchen and kiaks. The meal was very good but a bit of a free for all! I found myself noticing how many battered prawns some people heaped onto their plate ! The canoes had 2 passengers each and a local guide with varying degrees of English spoken . It was very hot so I was glad not to have to work . Each stop was idyllic. There were 2 chances to swim which were welcomed! The stop to make and release our floating banana rafts was magical and moving after watching the sunset . Seeing the fluorescence from plankton was magical then a trip back to the pontoon looking at the stars from the bow of the boar ! Brilliant . Book this tour and don’t bother with the James Bond island !

Serenity, beauty and nature

Truly one of the most delightful experiences of our time in Thailand. We were matched up with a paddler who took us through all the little hollow islands, we were fed a wonderful meal back on the ship, then our paddler made a beautiful flower offering that we then took back to the island after sunset and watched the candle burn. We saw bats, egrets and monkeys.

Excellent experience. Full day of activities with trusted guides. Kayaking the caves at night were exceptional.

Holiday visit

This tour is worth every penny! My husband and I had an amazing time! The food was fresh and delicious, the staff were amazing. Our guide Ameen (probably not spelled correctly) went above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic adventure!

Astonishing adventure

This was an unforgettable experience. The things we have seen during the trip where so beautiful and unique. The islands the caves, lagoons and even monkeys. Everything look like a perfect picture out of exclusive travel magazine. The service was amazing, everything was very well organized and timed. The food was great. This is a must experience for everyone coming to Pucket.

You must do this

This was one of the favorite things we did this trip. Caves are full of kayakers so dont be surprised how busy it is. We saw monkeys!! Food was good too. :)

BEST TOUR OF ALL TIME!

This was the best tour I’ve ever taken in my life! Although, their were about 40ish people on the boat it only felt crowded waiting in line to get on the boat. The ride to the islands was smooth and our host was very funny and charming. We could also tell that the staff truly enjoyed their jobs. From what I could tell, they treat each other like family and us (clients) with respect and kindness. I’ve taken Several tours all over the world and this is honestly a factor into our overall experience! The islands were absolutely magical! I was taking pictures here and there but limited it in order to take it all in as a picture could Never capture the experience we had. During one of the kayaking tours the owner was on a different kayak gazing at the roof of the cave. My boyfriend and I were close by and he started explained how certain shapes form with enjoyment in his voice. I over heard him early say that he comes out with everyone everyday. Based on his gaze and throughout the tour it was easy to tell he Absolutely loved his work! WHAT a lucky man! From the beginning, unto the end of the tour, it was intimate, charming and just ALOT of fun! It is a MUST!!!! If I ever come back to Phuket, I will definitely take any tour John aka ‘Santa’ provides!

Superb trip

We took the Phang Nga Hong island by starlight trip in November 2019. It was well organised and flawlessly executed by a staff who clearly were having great fun and respect the companies founder who accompanies many of the trips. The tour is controlled by several members of the crew who have the experience to time the trips to avoid the tourist crushes at the popular destinations. Despite seeing the many rooms of Hong Island and other sea caves we were almost always the only boat there at the time, and got to kayak through the passages at their most interesting when the state of the tide has you leaning back flat to avoid contact with the rock. All the kayaks were paddled by experienced crew who ensured that there were no cuts and abrasions and maximum excitement. The food was good throughout with unlimited cold drinks. Tea and coffee was also available. In the evening we were tutored in the local fishermen’s art of constructing banana leaf floating platforms for incense and candles which are set afloat inside one of the caves. Due to the concerns about environmental impact of these they are collected up after being set afloat, which is a bit disappointing, but understandable and laudable. Overall an excellent trip with a friendly helpful crew to some amazing locations. Fully recommended.

Great time in Phang Nga bay

Overall amazing experience sea canoeing in the islands of Phang Nga Bay. Our personal canoe captain Dool showed us some amazing sights and sea creatures. The dinner was delicious and after dinner we had a meaningful floating of our loi krathong. It was extremely interesting to see the bioluminescent sea plankton in the dark. Highly recommended!

A highlight of our time in Phuket -John Gray's Hong by Starlight in Phang Nga Bay

Our trip to Phuket was in mid September, rainy season - occasional thundershowers, high tides and jellyfish warnings not to go into the ocean fronting our beautiful Marriott Beach hotel in Mai Khao. We heard how beautiful Phang Nga Bay and "James Bond Island" were and really wanted to make the excursion, even though a number of us in the group are prone to motion sickness. We checked the tide charts when we arrived and picked the calmest day during our stay. John Gray's company was highly recommended to us by a tour guide we used for a 1/2 day Phuket city tour. She had worked as a tour guide for some years and also had experience with other Phang Nga Bay tours and boats. We are very happy we followed her recommendations, our tour had about 40 people - which was a good size, having been warned that other tours may have up to 100 people. We were also very surprised and happy to see that Phang Nga Bay was very calm and nothing like the rough currents of the Andaman sea. We had a great time, kayaks were great, our 2 paddlers were excellent, friendly and knowledgeable. My paddler, Mr Steffan ( sorry if I misspelled your name), was the one who spotted a family of monkeys up in the trees in one of the caves. One of them decided to visit on some of our kayaks. It was also nice to meet John who happened to be on our boat that day and to learn a little about his life's journey. (Go Bruins and shaka brah!) All in all a great experience and a highlight of our stay in Phuket. We highly recommend this excursion. Great for all ages - on our trip we had people from many countries and ages probably ranged from 3 to 70.

Outstanding

This tour is something very special and something you can't experience anywhere else. The caves are beautiful and so much fun lying in your canoe squeezing through the narrow tunnels. We witnessed a proposal during the lighting of the flower wreath. Absolutely magical

Maxing experience

Just like all the other reviews, I would completely praise this experience. I went as a solo experiencer, and had the best kayak guide called Tee who looked after me and made me feel safe being on a strange tour with no one that knew me. The trip through the lagoons is still unbelievable, and I would not dare anyone to miss it!

What an amazing day/night. We had the most amazing time and had a brilliant guide who went above and beyond. The food was brilliant, the caves amazing everthing about the day was brilliant. It was definitely the highlight of my ten days in Phuket. If you are going to do anything do this tour.

Not to be missed

This tour is wonderfully organized and planned, with each group of two having a personal guide and John Gray himself accompanying many of the tours. The time spent exploring the bays and the free time to play on the kayak without a guide are perfect, and the food is on point. Absolutely worth the money!

Perfection, perfection, perfection

This was an absolutely amazing experience. I loved everything we did, the crew was fantastic, and I'm happy to see that they hire locals to help guide the tours. It's great when activities like this give back to the community. The lagoons were swoon worthy, the animals we saw (monkeys, walking fish) were awesome, and the luminescent plankton was a once in a lifetime experience. Also the food was great! If you're in Phuket, don't miss this!
