Coral Island Snorkeling Tour By Speedboat From Phuket

Beautiful and good value! (a bit overcrowded though)

We only had three days in Phuket and happened to be staying at a hotel with a more muddy beach due to the area the hotel is in. But I really wanted to do some snorkeling and see coral and reef fish so we booked the day trip to coral island. For the price we paid we got a efficient, safe and comfortable ride to coral island. We were the first boat there so it was very peaceful, beautiful clear water and white sand beach. We arrived around 10am. We also spotted many hornbills flying around the island. We did some snorkeling and although the coral close to the shore was quite degraded we swam out further and saw many fish and beautiful coral. The lunch was good, we had fried chicken, pad kra pao, stir-fried veggies, rice and fruit. But then around 11 am many more boats with tourists arrived and they started doing parasailing right from the beach. The speed boats were so loud and were basically circling over the coral in a shallow area. No wonder the coral is so degraded near the shore. We were happy to leave at 2:45pm. Overall beautiful spot, safe and good value for the money paid, but the parasailing and hordes of people were obnoxious.

We had a fantastic relaxing day - snorkeling, parasailing, swimming and chilling!!! Holiday cannot be any better!!!

Well organized day.

Hi, Was picked up from Hotel and taken to dive shop. Coffee tea and soft drinks available as well as toast, jam. Bananas. Taken to peer and put on speed boat with 3 Yamaha 200 engines. Taken to island drinks available on board. On island shown where we will have lunch. Taken out by boat to dive site.Snorkelled for around half an hour. Not much sea life. Back on boat for lunch and then transferred to pier. Minibus back to hotel. Great day. Not a lot of sea life.

Cancel if bad weather!!!

There was bad weather on the day but the trip still went ahead. However, once we got to the island we were told we weren’t going to be taken to the snorkelling area due to the weather as it was too dangerous. We were also told none of the optional activities were going ahead, because of the weather… We were told we could snorkel off the beach where we were but the water was murky and there wasn’t any marine life anyway. We tried to snorkel, went for a swim and when getting out asked for the “provided” towels to which we were told there weren’t any and we had to rent or buy a towel if we wanted one! Ultimately we were trapped on an island with nothing to do for 6 hours. You couldn’t even go exploring as the beach is in a cove with rocks and deep rainforest on each side. I don’t understand why the trip went ahead if we couldn’t do any of the planned activities??? This was a waste of a day for us. We could have stayed in Phuket and done other things! We booked this trip as we wanted to ensure we went snorkelling while there but would have appreciated them cancelling the trip so our time wasn’t wasted.

Cancel if weather looks bad!!!

It was bad weather and it wasn’t until we reached the island we were told we couldn’t go to the snorkelling area as the weather made it dangerous, then told none of the optional activities were running…because of the weather. It’s a sectioned off piece of beach with hills and jungle surrounding it but you can’t go exploring. So we basically just sat on the beach for 6 hrs with intermittent rain. Went to ask for the “provided” towel and told they didn’t have any and we’d have to rent or buy a towel. Would have preferred to be told it’s bad weather and be given an option not to go. Felt it was a whole day wasted as we were trapped once we were on the island and not told we couldn’t do anything until we got there. The next day half of our group didn’t go on another tour we had booked as they were concerned about something similar happening and didn’t want to waste another day.

No Corals in Coral Island

Do NOT take this trip! It's a scam and even though the island you visit is called Coral Island, there are NO corals to be seen at all! According to our guide, due to the Tsunami in 2004, the corals were destroyed and disappeared. As the whole purpose of our trip was to snorkel and see corals, we were extremely disappointed as there is not much else to do there and it was a waist of a day (and money).

Great day on a close island

We had elderly parents and children with us. It was an easy 15 min boat ride to the island. The buffet lunch was a choice of 4 dishes and there was plenty to eat. We took our own snacks. The pier was a floating one so a bit tricky to walk on for the elderly people but we did it.

Relaxing Island Cruise

Every thing was perfect from the hotel pickup to hotel drop off. The staff were great very informative and upbeat. Location was great very relaxing.

Not the best tour experience

Not the best beach, littered with trash. Rented a SUP but the paddle was broken (wouldn't extend) and the people renting it didn't seem to care. They clearly don't know much about paddleboarding as they tried to give me a kayak paddle. Lunch options were poor for a vegetarian.

Coral island

The best trip by far. The people were super nice and accommodated us with drinks and snorkel gear for free. The location was spectacular. Had an entire day on the island compared to others that were a few hours. No end of activities that were cheap. Love love loved it, highly recommended.

That very little had...

That very little had changed since we were there 30 years ago except for the fish. Almost none. So we appreciated the snorkling on the other side of the island. The food tasted great

Only about 20min of snorkeling. They should provide a snorkel while on the beach too. Lunch buffet was poor.

Grrat day!

We are a family of four. We had an aaesome time. It was a beautiful beach and fun boat ride. Great day! Not too crowded. Well organized.

The beach was lovely,...

The beach was lovely, soft sand, gorgeous water, plenty of space. The Banana boat ride was so worth it! So memorable!

You could find better options

Wouldn’t recommend, no instructions on their signalling and they don’t send you the photos as promised

Incredible tour

When we chose this tour we were not aware of how lucky we were going to be - the tour guide was awesome, we were the first to arrive on the beach (we were able to reserve seats close to the water) and everything was absolutely perfect!

Should be titled ONLY 30min snorkeling

Simply put, in the 8 hour day (including 2hr travel) we were given 30 minutes to snorkel at Coral Island. The best item on the buffet lunch was the fried chicken but they had 4 staff guarding the chicken (the only item not allowed to serve yourself) and we were only allowed 2 small pieces.

Wow!!

The coral island tour was well organised and such an amazing experience. Nothing was rushed and my fiancé and I had a great day! The only thing that needs attention is the scramble to find what bus we were supposed to get on. Everyone was panicking and the tour guide was nowhere to be seen. Apart from that we had a fantastic day! I would definitely book this tour again! 😁

Good but not great

It wasn’t the best tour ever but the guide was nice and the activities were good but make sure to bring money to do extra things because you sit on the beach for almost 5 hours and if you don’t have much you just end up sitting on the beach for hours with nothing to do personally I wouldn’t do this again but lunch was good 👍🏼

Great half day trip

We had a great trip to Coral Island, the price is definitely worth what you get - pick up and return, boat trip, lunch, breakfast, refreshments and snorkelling. Had enough time for activities and relaxation.

Beautiful beach

Beach is beautiful clear and lovely to have a swim, sun-bake and a drink. Food average. Where you go snorkelling is dirty no life Coral to be seen wouldn't recommend this part of the day trip.

Relaxing way to spend the first half of your day

Racha Island has it’s own beach side hotel (only guests allowed there tho). We arrived at the beach first…water was great and crystal clear. We then went to the back of the island for snorkeling. Again crystal clear water and and can see a variety of marine life (albeit I’m sure the coral reef was much more thriving before) Overall enjoyable….we then went to Coral Island for lunch

Great day trip

Well organized, affordable trip. Staff were great too. Only thing is there was basically 0 reef, really sad to see it all ruined by the boats. Apart from that, beach was really nice.

Recommended trip

Amazing experience. Trip staff were friendly and attentive. The island was beautiful with a great on island bar for snacks and drinks. An all around great trip that i will definitely be taking again in the future. Highly recommend.

Great time

Great trip. Well organized. Food was good too. Trip to Coral Island is just 10 minutes by speedboat. This is my 2nd time, would do it again.

Great time and amazing value for the money

The tour was great, Spicy is an amazing guide and helped us no matter whether it was my sea sickness or getting towels. We had a great time and recommend this tour to anybody who stays in phuket! (we wish that other tourists would expect the mandatory mask requirements, it's really not that hard to put it on when you're in the car and next to other people.)

Chilled day on a beautiful island 🏝

My partner and I had a great time, the morning transfer from the hotel to the meeting point and then the marina seemed quite unorganised but still with it, its worth it. The team were super friendly and funny, the island is beautiful 😍 If youre expecting a day full of activities and adventure this tour might not do it but if you're in the market for a chilled back day in a beautiful location with good food and cold drinks definitely give it a go

good experience

Relaxing trip to the sea This time with 2 small, coral island half-day trip is a good choice; less than half an hour, easy to play or snorkel at the beach for about 2 hours, good experience.

The tour guide carefully explained and provided many suggestions. It changed for each persons different situations. Although there were not many activities, the guide gave us other choices. Finally, we were happy to forget about it.

Super beautiful super recommended water is very clean and not snorkeling, you can have a good time. Nice trip!

Overall trip was enjoyable.

Transportation arrangement was good, suitable for kid and elderly who can swim and hang out at beach, no need to rush and go up & down from boat. Food was ok but can be better. not a good snorkeling point as not much coral and fish. The only complaint was waiting at the centre for about an hour while waiting for the rest of guest coming.

it was a very nice trip. the island is beautiful. the guide was very nice and is a very educated man, he translated for every group. we felt very comfortable. unfortunately there were a few people who could not behave and were not nice to the guide because he translated for the chinese first. that is of course not a problem for us, on the contrary, we think it's great when there are people who speak so many languages. the driver was on time. all was good but a bit disorganized and the boat a bit crowded comparing to the previous tour. maybe because they are doing it with an outside company. but overall it s nice and coral island was very beautiful.

See the big tits and a lot of small fish! The island is more tourists, the tour guide is very warm and welcoming, and the lunch is delicious! And don't have to be with others.

Transportation is good and on time. We did swimming on the island. Fair lunch. The view is beautiful and we did take a lot of photos. However, extra fees have to pay on other water activities like diving.

Great and value !!

There is no special charge for snorkeling. If you want to go parasailing or scuba diving, you will be charged separately after you arrive on the island. On the island, toilets, showers and beach chairs could be used freely, and lunch was also good in a buffet style. The palm trees will be shaded, so you don't need umbrellas or goza, but you can. The locker costs 100 baht. The sea is very beautiful. Really beautiful. Cost effectiveness is outstanding.

Half-day tour of Coral Island. I took the afternoon group and didn't have to get up early. The driver also picked us up at the hotel. The tour guide also took care of it. The swimming time was enough. There was afternoon tea in the tail section, although it was simple but thoughtful.

La giornata dal punto di...

La giornata dal punto di viste meteorologico imponeva l'annullamento dell'escursione ma non è stata annullata. Mare molto mosso. Viaggio in motoscafo con 1000 rimbalzi e impossibilità di fare il bagno. Viene venduta come intera giornata da passare sulla spiaggia ma in realtà alle 15.00 si riparte (orario standard, non per il mare mosso) che si trasforma poi in 14.45.

Tout a été très bien organisé de la prise en charge jusqu'au retour à l'hôtel. Eau cristalline, plongé avec tuba et les guides très sympa

Servicio completo y atento.

Servicio puntual y cumpliendo con lo establecido. La isla una pasada, y la actividad de snorkel , así como la comida, genial. Lo que no me gustó fue la falta de limpieza en la playa, así como en las instalaciones donde comimos. Otra cosa que no me gustó fue la falta de disciplina para con otros clientes que se saltaban las normas de no tocar nada del fondo marino. Tuvimos que ser nosotros los que llamáramos la atención a un padre con los niños por coger una estrella de mar del fondo arenoso de la playa. Si siguen así, no quedará nada que ver del fondo marino dentro de poco. Otra pena en un sitio tan paradisiaco como este es ver el fondo marino lleno de residuos y el agua del mar llena de micro plásticos. Pero de esto no tiene la culpa la empresa del tour que contratamos.

Nous avons pris la journée entière sur Coral Island. Le taxi était à l heure, le speed boat aussi, un guide (Mario) plein d humour, très aimable et disponible nous a accompagné, un déjeuner complet, varié, avec le personnel aux petits soins nous attendaient. Nous avons fait un tour de parachute ascensionnel en supplément: court mais très sympa! L île vaut vraiment le coup d’œil: snorkling et plage superbe. Bref: on RECOMMANDE!
