Best day trip in Perth

It’s a very good day trip which we could enjoy so many different kinds of wines from various wineries! With the small group privilege, we were able to get to know more about the wines we tried and the history of the wineries! Thanks to Tim who is a really good and friendly guide, we enjoyed our day in swan valley so much! Definitely worth joining!

Perfect number of people to be a tour but yet personalized. My husband and I enjoyed all the wineries and story of generations behind each. Tim is an excellent guide!

A Great Day Out!

My sister and I hosted by Tim went on the Swan River Valley Wine tour. It was a very delightful day and our host Tim (Best of Perth Tours ) was an excellent Tour Guide. His knowledge of the area was amazing and the wineries he took us were perfect examples of the established wineries using more traitional methods and newer more Technology run vinyards. Tim's care of the people on the tour was exemplary. Tim made sure everyone was comfortable, chatiing to each person making them feel an integral part of the group. By the end of the day e were all friends, chatting and laughing and enjoying each others company. The tour was fabulous, lunch at a winery was a gourmet experience and the vist to the chocolate factory was delicious. Thank you Tim fora great day out.

Great pleasant surprises

My wife and I had a fantastic day on the wine tour with Tim in early March. Although Swan Valley is the second oldest wine region in Australia after Hunter Valley, its wines are less well known than neighbouring Margaret River. Due to global warming, the vineyards have introduced various heat resistant varieties from Spain, Portugal and Italy such as Verdelho, Tempranillo, Sangiovese and others in recent years, and they offered great pleasant surprises. Three of the four wineries that we visited were boutiques, allowing more cosy conversations and in-depth exchanges. In contrast, the winery that we visited for lunch was too big and too commercialised even though the food at lunch was decent. Tim has a lot of personal life experiences to share having lived in France and Europe for a number of years before coming back to Australia. It was a very enjoyable tour.

Really great tour - would thoroughly recommend. Tim has chosen 4 very different vineyards so there is a nice variety, and the lunch options were excellent with very generous portion sizes.

Truly the Best of Perth Tours!!

Based on reviews of “best ofPerth. tours”, we realized that Tim is a big part of why this tour is so successful. We were an international group of ten, and Tim showed great enthusiasm and knowledge of the art of wine making and the history of the Swan Valley. He chose 3 small boutique wineries with historical routes in this valley .We had a delicious lunch at a fourth winery and a visit to a chocolate factory. Tim truly deserves a 5 star rating.!!

Outstanding wine tour of Swan Valley with brilliant tour guide Tim

All of the reviews for this tour are correct it is a fantastic experience. Tim provides an exceptional level of service and is incredibly friendly and welcoming. We were on a tour of just 10 people which meant that it was very friendly and informative. We visited 4 wineries and the chocolate factory. All of the wineries were exceptional, the first one, Garbin wines, provided a platter of cheese, crackers and grapes to help our palates. We sampled bubbles, rose, white and reds all of which were cracking. We then moved onto Maya Maya were we had another set of tastings and a very good lunch, highly recommended. After lunch Tim took us to an absolutely superb small family winery John Kosovitch which were amazing and personally my favourite of the 4, we bought a couple of bottles here, I should mention that there is no pressure or expectation for you to purchase at any of the wineries we visited. The last winery again was outstanding and very interesting as they had some 30 varieties of grape and produce a very wide range of wines. Finally, we went to the Margaret River chocolate factory which rounded off the day beautifully. We cannot sing Tim’s praises highly enough, if you are a beginner in the world of wines or seasoned wine tour veterans you will not fail to be impressed with his knowledge and choice of wineries. If you do nothing else whilst in Perth treat yourself to this fabulous tour. Paraphrasing Spinal Tap Tim takes the experience to 11. Thanks again Tim for an extra special day.

A Day I'll Remember for A Long Time

The whole day was a lovely experience. Being in a small group enabled me to interact with all participants throughout the day and share experiences. Nothing was rushed. We had plenty of opportunity to speak with the wine makers at all venues. Tim was a fantastic guide. He took us to smaller wineries that larger groups can’t get access to. I’m a big fan of the boutique, family-based wineries – you could feel their love and passion for what they do, and they all provided a very personal service. You don’t often get this at the larger, more commercially focussed wineries. I plan to do this tour again next time I’m in Perth.

Very worthy for wine lovers

The tour introduces four wineries of different characteristics in Swan Valley, which is one of the most historical wine regions. Each one of wineries generously offers wine tasting of their various products. And lunch in a one of wineries has very high quality. It’s very worthy for wine lovers to spend one perfect day.

Visited some lovely wineries, made some new friends and had a lovely lunch. A very informative and enjoyable day out. We continued onto a local.pub to continue our chatting and make plans for another get together. A great day out. Highly recommend.

Tim provided an excellent tour, greatly appreciated his background info on each of the vineyards and his attention to the needs of each and everyone of us A small tour group is the way to do a Swan Valley tour and the choice of the smaller, family established and run wineries was a definite plus. A great day.

Lovely day tour in a small setting

We joined the tour as a family and had the loveliest experience. Tim is a knowledgeable, friendly, and caring guide and took us to four boutique beautiful estates with different settings. The tour was with 7 other people which was just the right size to get to know each other. We were allowed to choose our own lunch and drinks from the menu which was a big plus too. He took care of us as a group before the tour by dropping us a helpful note about pick up time & location, followed by a drive on the van where he talked about the history of the valley, and took us around the whole day. I was originally worried that my 8 yr old daughter would be tired with the tour, as it was more for adults. However Tim helped to engage with her in the van, letting her to join the conversation, and took us to estates where there were playgrounds, pet parrots and kept her entertained for the whole day. When we were back, my daughter told me this was one her best days during our holidays, and we cannot agree more! Thanks for such a memorable experience and would heartily recommend anyone visiting Perth to spend a day joining this tour.

Friendly people with nice vibe

My family and I had a great time during the tour. Get to experience a variety of winery and Tim is extremely helpful and knowledgeable with local history and the progression of wine making of Swan valley. Learned a lot and drank a lot. Small group with friendly people and will recommend to people who would want a relaxed day trip.

Had a great day out with Tim, our knowledgeable guide. Four wineries, all different, small group so we all chatted together so it was a really social outing. Lots of wine! But also cheese and lunch. Delightful small group tour

This small group tour with Tim was fantastic. Everything was arranged including a door pick up from the hotel then 4 incredible wine tastings with morning tea, amazing lunch and rounded off with a chocolate tasting. Tim owns and operates this business so nothing is left to chance and he pulls out all stops to ensure each person is well looked after. I loved that we got to visit some of the smaller family owned wineries which made for a very personal experience. Highly recommend you won’t be disappointed.

Well worth the trip

I was in a group of 6 people. Tim made us all feel welcome and he chatted to us all, telling us about the wine area and the vineyards we visited. The wine tastings were plentiful, a good lunch and full glass of choice included as described. My only negative thought ( and it is minor) is that I found the last vineyard slightly lengthy in presentation, but still a lovely day.

Very enjoyable day!

I had a fabulous time . There were four single travellers and a couple. Tim gave us the relaxed feel and plenty of information. He was very caring to each person and with open discussions Tim enhanced the group talking together and getting to know each other. This is my first time to Perth and I have thoroughly enjoy it . Upon returning on another holiday . I would definitely go on this tour again. The smaller group and Tim really made the day. Ps there some lovely boutique wines I bought whilst on the tour. Getting picked up and dropped home really made an easy day.

What a fabulous day. Tim knew his wines and was so informative. I love that it is only ever a maximum of 10 people and the wineries and lunch were fabulous. Had the best day.

Beautiful Swan Valley wineries.

We visited 4 very unique wineries in the beautiful Swan Valley region. From family owned business ( traditional/rustic) to larger, more modern wineries, my personal favourite was Garbin, their website is really interesting. All the wineries had some amazing wines, and each one has its own story which made the visit interesting. Our driver/guide was Tim, absolutely one of the best 👌. Knowledgeable and genuinely wanted his group to enjoy the experience, which we definitely did. I would unreservedly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Perth, a great day out. 😀

Fabulous small group wine tour - wholeheartedly recommend

Tim was fantastic. So knowledgeable but personable and down to earth, and truly invested in making the experience a memorable one for his guests. The wineries on the itinerary were well curated, offering different experiences and were well planned - never felt touristy or impersonal. Swan Valley small group wine tour

Thanks to Tim for a wonderful day. Great value for money. Personalised pickup at the door of hotel, to be whisked away on a day that would be filled with delights and stories of past and present. Before each stop was information about the history of Swan Valley and then each winery. We prefer the small wineries as you get more personalised experiences. First stop of the day was a small vineyard that provided morning tea, jams olives cheese as well as their wines for tasting. Then on to the larger winery providing lunch and more wine tasting. After a very enjoyable lunch overlooking the vines , we sallied forth to the best cellar door among the barrels. With accolades and history we tasted and chatted. When on to our last for a nouveau wine experience and last but not least a final stop for chocolates and providores to complete our day. A truely fun filled day with great company, lovely wines and a trip through the making of Swan Valley.

Fantastic!

Just phenomenal, can not recommend this enough. Having gone with Tim before 4 years ago, we went with him again. The wine was great and moreover Tim was friendly and fantastic and couldn’t do enough for those on the tour!

A must do experience

The whole experience was seamless from booking and confirmation from our lovely host Tim Tim has such a wealth of information you felt like you've known him all your life His warm welcome commentaries and his life experiences was amazing The wineries he chose were exceptional and educational The way Tim planned our day was very well thought of Having our Cheese Platter at our first winery and knowing that our bellies were lined before our many tastings ahead was awesome The arrangement of cheeses olives crackers were amazing Our next winery is where we had out lunch Which once again Tim had it all planned we had a form to tick to decide what we wanted from the menu And the lunch was exceptional The Barramundi was the best I've ever had Taste presentation wine and great company We continued onto the 3rd winery and fell in love with the ambience of the place and host The fourth winery we met Frank our wine dispenser lol cute Onto the Margaret River chocolate shop and slept on the way home It was totally amazing highly recommend it if you enjoy small groups and almost one on one experiences
