Swan Valley Tour from Perth: Wine, Beer and Chocolate Tastings

Bus tour and Keith was wonderful he made our day. He was helpful and full of knowledge he made the day he deserves the 5 stars. The tour itself wasn't as fun as we thought it would be. The first and Second stop was great, but after lunch it changed and was of an experience I want again. Windy Creek the lady was rude and very bossy she kept yelling at everyone treating adults like children. We had to try 16 wines very very very quikly. it felt like shot glasses was lined up and we drank them right after the other literally. We couldn't enjoy the moment or the wine after a while it just all tasted the same and was forcing the wine down. then being screamed at as well. The stop after windy Creek was quite and couldn't quite hear the story and what was offered. The toilets didn't even lock and felt a little unsafe/uncomfortable. The last stop at the chocolate factory lovely little place but was disappointed it wasn't the margaret river Chocolate factory.

Very enjoyable

The half-day tour didn't start well as the bus missed picking us up in Guildford (we were at the appointed spot in good time) and by the time this was rectified we were already behind the rest of the tour at the first stop. However, we caught up the the tastings and really enjoyed the 3 contrasting vineyards we visited; one large, one smaller and one more rustic but all with some interesting and varied wines. Chatting to the staff in each venue was wonderful, as their passion for the products shone through. The supply of wines was plentiful with food accompaniments being offered also. The brewery and its beer was OK, but it would have been better to have seen the brewery itself not just a bar area. The chocolate stop was a bit pointless and some of the other guest spent their time in the distillery next door, which would have added value to the trip which was $90 per person and just about worth it. A really enjoyable afternoon was had though.

Great first experience

Great first experience of a wine tour. Super convenient with the bus stopping right at the cellar doors. Probably better spaced on the first leg; after lunch the tour felt a bit rushed with less time to sip between tastings. “Clydesdale Keith” our bus driver was great value!

Swan valley tour

We had a nice tour in swan valley. Peter , our tour guide, is very friendly and amicable. He dressed very professionally and he was always very cheerful. He told us a lot of history of swan valley. Lovely to have him as our tour guide. Good job!

Swan Valley wine & beer experience

The 3 wineries were fabulous, friendly & knowledgeable. The brewery was the same, all provided food with tastings. The chocolate factory could have been left off, as offered nothing to experience.

Great fun

Actually worth doing. Get to try different wines and beers and the chocolate shop at the end completes the trip. Bus driver was great and informative as well.

Ok

I enjoyed the day, but felt the visit to the Brewery was a waste of time, it was only a pub, out to make money.

Lively tour

We did the tour that takes off in the late morning and finishes in the afternoon - with no chance for lunch. We were in a small bus (clean; good driver) up to the Swan Valley and then visited Mandoon (a rather large vineyard full of people trying wines), Lancasters (a more relaxing experience with some cheese thrown in) and then the Margaret River Chocolate Factory (with a detour to a nearby building selling Providore products). All the tastings were pleasant but the experience wasn't as good as wine tours I've had in other countries. And then there was boat trip back to the city. Hysterical is the best way to describe it. Free drinks - and so lots of people getting rather 'jolly' and very loud....and the then crew burst into song. Lovely voices but nothing relaxing about the trip back!

Basically a shopping trip

Some nice food and drink to sample. People very knowledgeable about their products. However they want you to buy. I went solo and depends on how friendly other tour guests are.

Poms on Tour

A fab day out started with a greeting from our driver of the day Mikey - A bike to the end. A well planned out day, with why we can only describe as a nap inducing lunch (Of course it was nothing to do with the 2 wineries before hand) Would recommend a Swan Valley Wine Tour.

Driven to drink

If you like wine this is your tour if you want beer or chocolate don't do it. We stopped at 3 different vineyards and had a tasting. We then went to the chocolate store where we were given a small piece of chocolate and an opportunity to buy more. We stopped at a bar and were given a beer. Although the trip said we would return via boat there was no boat only a bus ride back to town. Nothing here for the nondrinker, the chocolate lover, someone that wants a river cruise or to learn anything about the process of making wine.

Excellent tasting tour

Really warm & friendly drivers people at the wineries we’re very knowledgeable .chocolate tasting yummy. Very good way to spend an afternoon

Wonderful Afternoon

A Wonderful afternoon. Went to three wineries, beer and chocolate tasting. The guide was very good and met some lovely people on the tour.

Brilliant Tour

Brilliant tour. Our guide for the day Lucy was full of useful information and fun. This tour took in four wineries, one brewery and a chocolate factory. At each winery we were treated to 6 tastings of estate wines. At the Brewery we were given a token to have either a beer, wine or soft drink. The meal included in our tour was really good. If you like wine and making friends for the day this tour is for you.

Great day and a lot of fun.

Had a great and fun day. Our coach driver Keith was really helpful and provided a lot of information. I do hope I get him next time I book a trip.

Average

The first winery was so impersonal, you couldn’t even enjoy the wine, the place was crowded and noisy. The second winery was focused on the group, nice, interactive talks. The third place should not be visited. The brewery and the chocolate place was too much, I would rather spend more time with a good wine than rush many places.

Close to the centre of...

Close to the centre of Perth wineries were well presented, all staff were extremely helpful and friendly

We have a lovely trip and very enjoyable ride as Keith the driver not only a good driver but very experience tour guide. We meet some friendly fellow tourists on our bus who also make our trip even more fun. All in all the fun and enjoyable day. Impressive driver arms with ton of information and historical knowledge. Highly recommend.

A great day out in the Swan Valley

We were upgraded from the coach tour to the river cruise tour at no extra cost. The crew were very pleasant and were able to talk knowledgably about the wines we had on board. Food at the restaurant was excellent and we spent large at the Margaret River Chocolate factory as the selection and quality were fantastic

Great afternoon your!

Highly recommend this tour, we booked very last minute, everything ran like clockwork. Kim the guide was knowledgeable and funny, we felt this afternoon was great value for money…..far preferred the second and third smaller boutique wineries to the bigger more commercialized first one, but perhaps it was just super busy due to it being a Sunday. Great afternoon, thank you Kim!

Chocolate shop was...

Chocolate shop was awesome. Left with plenty of goodies. Also enjoyed fortified wine selections. Bus driver was awesome.

Amazing Experience

I'm lost of words, this tour was awesome!!! Special mention to Keith for his kindness and guidance. Everything was exquisite planned, delicious lunch, great wines tasting, cheeses, I'm quite thankful.

Helpful and accomodating

SVT were very helpful and flexible in organising my friend's Hens Party wine tour. On the day our tour guide Peter was very friendly and accommodating and the venues we're lovely, would definitely recommend :)

Good value winery tour

Did the half day tour with 11.30 pickup in the CBD. Excellent tour with informative commentary. The 3 wineries visited were excellent, including 2 small family owned ones that would be easy to overlook. Windy Creek winery was particularly good. A beer and wedges at Mash brewey and a taste at the chocolate factory concluded an excellent day. Thanks to Keith the driver who was very good

Spectacular

We had an amazing wine tour with Swan Valley wine tours. Our guide Keith was super friendly. We loved the entire experience but our favourite winery was Windy Creek winery! Definitely an experience we would highly recommend!!!

Brilliant but leave the Lancaster out. Otherwise perfect day.

Great driver with heaps of knowledge. Lancaster winery was a bit of a let down. No interaction or talk about the wines. Sarcastic comments from server when asking questions. Everywhere else was amazing.

Lots of fun and indulgence in the sun

Thank you Uncle Peter, our driver, we had such a nice time. Really enjoyed meeting other people on the tour, chatting and having a laugh. Such relaxed and comfortable tour, felt like part of the family or new friends group. Went to so many wineries, we felt very over indulged but in a good wa y. Very good value for money too.

Wonderful small family company - great day out

I had just arrived in Perth as a solo traveller with no afternoon plans. I am a foodie so thought this trip would be a great afternoon out. I was not disappointed. I was met by Kym the owner in her own car to quickly connect me to the rest of the tour. Great value stops. A mix of wineries, breweries chocolate, savouries. Attentive service. Christmas party wine tour

We had a brilliant day out in the Swan Valley region for our ward Christmas party. Kim was great to deal with from start to finish and Kaz our tour guide on the day was just fantastic. Great food and tasting stops, highly recommend. Thank you for all your help and hope you all Have a very merry Christmas

PERFECT DAY OUT!

The day had the potential to be terrible, as I had misread the time lines and we arrived late for pick up.VERY out of character for me! HOWEVER owing to the patience of our WONDERFUL driver and guide Keith and fellow passengers I was forgiven,and once i forgave myself we had a fabulous day out. I loved that we visited small family owned wineries and in two cases were hosted by the wives of 3rd generation owners. The quality of the wines was, in most cases excellent and prices surprisingly, very reasonable. We enjoyed delicious cheeses and olives,scrumptious lunch and other snacks,along with wine and beer !! We really appreciated the knowledge of Keith, and his company with us on the day. A very interesting man and a true gentleman. Well done SVT !!!

Enjoyable tour

Did the half day tour and it was the perfect amount of time. Would prefer maybe 10 more minutes at each location but overall it was good. Visited Mandoon, Windy Creek Winery (my favorite-great hostess), Twin Hill Wines, Mash Brewing, and Margaret River Chocolate Factory.

Great day, great wine and great company snd guide

Picked up in town, first stop just after 10 am. Wonderful small winery and great cheeses to try. Our guide Nealle was very knowledgable and fun. Lunch was wonderful as well as all the other wineries. The chocolate factory delicious, before the crowds arrived. We might combine it with the river cruise next time. Strongly recommend to everyone who likes wine and want to see the picturesque countryside. Many thanks to our guide!

The best day out in Perth!

This is the best tour you can take in Perth and surroundings! You will get to try the best Australian wines (MANY of them), delicious chocolates, cheese and ciders in an amazing environment. Plus, you will be given explanations about every single wine you taste. Don't think twice and do it even if you are not a wine expert.

Good times and good wine!

I absolutely loved my day on this tour! The wine was lovely and the included lunch was so yum! Ed our guide was so humble and kind and made our day really great! My favourite wines were definitely the sparkling wine we had at sandalford wines, and the rose wine we had at mandoon and Lancaster! There was also heaps of food so you didn’t go hungry at all during the day! Also, don’t get me started on the chocolate and chocolate liqueurs, so good! I will definitely be returning to Perth and going on the indulgence tour again!

Fun day!

Ed gave us a great tour leaving from central Perth with an informative commentary about the history of the city as we headed to wine country. The Swan Valley is relatively compact so it was never a long time between stops. The day included wine, cheese, chocolate and lunch and then a snack before returning to the city.

Great wine tour

The tour was great. We visited 3 wineries, mandoon estate, windy creek, and garbin wines. Our favourite was windy creek. Fabulous selection of wines and the the staff were friendly and informative. The winery itself was beautiful. We then headed to the Margaret river chocolate factory and providore for chocolate liquor tasting. Would have been nice to have wine tastings here as well, without tastings you won’t buy it. Then lastly we went to a brewery for glass of cider or beer and wedges. The time spent here was a good wind down however the beer or cider offered was nothing unique. Therefore I think more time should be spent at more of the unique, boutique wineries to promote their business. The windy creek winery had great wines and a beautiful landscape. And I wish the tour spent more time there than the brewery when looking back. But ultimately the vibe was fantastic, everyone had fun, great tastings, great places visited and Keith our driver was very professional and friendly.

Very well organised trip. Very good selection of wineries without the pressure to buy. If you do the full day don't have a large breakfast, you graze all day 😋. Choice of lunch is well done and leaves enough room for the chocolate tasting/gorging 😁👍

FAB DAY OUT

We were visiting from UK over Christmas and New Year so we were treated to the tour by my daughter and partner who live in Perth. Can honestly say it was one of the highlights from our visit. Had a fab tour guide, chatty, friendly and knowledgeable. Only regret is that we didn't buy any wine as we were going out in the city straight afterwards. However, by luck we have managed to find some in the UK that we sampled that day! Would highly recommend this tour.I'm so sorry i cannot remember the tour guides name, but she was lovely! :-)

Fantastic Tour!

Terry was an outstanding guide and offered a fantastic tour in the Swan Valley this afternoon. She gave us great local history without it being boring. The two tastings were just the right amount of time and the boat trip back was fun.

Solo traveller who, thankfully, still loves wine after this...

I joined this tour on a Tuesday as a solo wine lover, whilst the people I was staying with were at work (living the life!). The pick-up point was easy to find and the bus was clearly labelled so it was easy to find the group / tour guide when they arrived. John was our guide for the day and he was really friendly and welcoming to all of the people on the tour. We were a small-ish group but everyone got on well and it was great to meet new people from all over the world. There is PLENTY of wine, a delicious lunch if you go for the full day and so much cheese to try at each winery. Margaret river chocolate was amazing before heading off to a brewery afterwards – the tour is excellent value for money and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone in the Perth / Swan Valley region! "Way Too Much Wine For a Day"

One of the finest wine Tour, from start to finish of the trip everything was superb. The Chauffeur who drove was very knowledgeable about the place, if you happen to be on this tour save wine taste buds for Windy Creek Wineries, the place has some amazing Wines do not miss out on Golden tawny, Liquer Muscat and Autumn Gold. In the last winery do not miss out on Shiraz and lovely home made Cheese they have to offer. Although I went Solo but never felt so with the amazing co traveller and last but not the least our Chauffeur Keith.
