One way or Return Sightseeing Cruise between Perth and Fremantle

Cruise good but not right...

Cruise good but not right to be overcharged when your booking operated quoted $120.96 and I was then charged $183.89. I really would like a refund.

Overcharging is not right

The cruise was very good however your company overcharged me what one of your booking operators quoted then sent that email stating that quoted amount was paid. Quoted $120.96 and charged $183.89 with foreign exchange fees. I am not happy about this. Marie Garson

Being a tourist in my own city

My Melbourne visitor and I really enjoyed it. Plenty of sitting room, great view of the sights and Captain’s commentary was enough information. Will do it again.

A cruise

Views. The commentary was interesting but I could have done without the music & there was too much talk on property & wealth.

Trip well worth taking

Lovely comfy bout with meals , snacks and drinks available. A leisurely trip from Freo to Perth and back with interesting commentary all the way.

Great trip to Fremantle

Great trip to Fremantle, the journey over & back was really smooth & the staff very friendly & Informative. Fremantle is lovely to have a mooch around & take in some of its history.

Swan river cruise

Great boat and very clean Good commentary. Staff very helpful. One suggestion is face masks should be offered as there were a number of people with very heavy colds coughing over people and I hope that others , mainly 50 + , don't catch whatever they had.

A Joy to see!

What a treat to travel the Swan River and see Perth from the water. Most enjoyable to see all the activities and beautiful homes.

New experience

Was a new experience for us. Took a couple of hours to do. Views were exquisite. Commentary good. Had an open bar. Sat upstairs. On same cruise has lunch but has to be pre-booked. Recommend

Fabulous cruise

This was a fantastic way to return to Perth after our winery tour. The choice of cakes and fruit was fantastic and so delicious. The cruise also included unlimited wine, coffee and tea. The staff were fantastic and great entertainers. The cruise was so relaxing. A perfect end to a great day.

Amazing cruise

Absolutely beautiful views, I loved cruiseing down swan river. Would definitely it all again, Crew were very friendly.

Lovely relaxing trip

If you want to have a relaxing couple of hours seeing Perth from a different perspective, I'd definitely recommend this tour. Ideally, we wanted to join a dinner cruise, but it was fully booked up, so gave this one a try. It was lovely and relaxing. The Captain told you about the sites as you sailed on the River. You have the option to purchase lunch when you book the ticket, we didn't on this occasion. There are 2 bars on board so you can grab a drink or two. Overall, great experience.

Cancellation

We got Covid on the morning of our booking and I could not get our money back not happy . You say you policy stated 24 hours notice but we tested positive on the day so you wouldn’t pay me back We we’re careful not to give anyone Covid

Lovely peaceful trip

Excellent way top see the river and the city. We travelled to Fremantle by train which is cheap and easy and then came back by the ferry. It was a lovely trip, and we saw a lot of the city and the environment along the river with a good guide talking about the trip.

Enjoyable day

It was a very relaxing and enjoyable float down the river and return. Staff were friendly and helpful. Boats ran to time.

Best Perth Cruise

Excellent way to see the lower Swan River and many of our most expensive properties. Second time and will be doing this cruise again with interstate visitors.

Relaxing ride to Fremantle

Visiting from the US and staying in Northbridge. I wanted to visit Fremantle and thought the ferry sounded like a relaxing way to get there. Enjoyed seeing Perth from a different angle and enjoyed the narration from the crew. It did get a little boring at some points as we were just traveling down the river with nothing really to look at but river so I opted to take an Uber back to my hotel rather than return on the ferry.

Pleasant cruise

Relaxing cruise down the river. Followed by a couple of dolphins! Chose the cheese platter option for the trip back to Perth - good option. Informative trip. Friendly happy staff

Great day out

Very pleasant trip to Fremantle and back. Staff were excellent, seating comfortable with good views of the river and we enjoyed lunch and visit to the Maritime Museum in Fremantle. A good day out!

Scenic ride to Fremantle

We took the cruise as a different and scenic way to get to Fremantle. This was what it was and the scenery was beautiful. I enjoyed learning about the sights we were passing although this was very difficult to hear on a lot of occasions.

Even if you live in Perth

We live in Perth, but haven't taken a river cruise in years. The view was amazing, I took lots of photos. Great way to explore Perth and Fremantle and find lots of little places that we will explore over coming weeks. We will recommend to all our friends.

Extremely unsatisfactory customer service. The system between Viatour and SeaLink could not deal with my issue

Viator is a difficult company to deal with. I wanted to book a one-way ticket from Perth to Fremantle. I was charged for a return ticket. When I turned up at the ferry and discovered what had happened nobody was able to help me cancel the unwanted return ticket. The online booking site was most unclear.. The confirmation said one-way OR Return so there was no way of telling what had been paid for. 3 messages sent after confirmation from Captain Cook Cruises which were absolute gobbledygook, gave no indication as to whether the tickets paid for were one-way or return. Refund has been unreasonably denied for the return ticket which was never going to be used as we returned to Perth from Fremantle by train as was always intended. Booking No BR-1095520327

Lovely crew and office staff

Very relaxing, most enjoyable. Staff were great. My sister has a walking stick, a bit of a stiff leg and slow but it was no problem. I made a mistake with my online booking but the staff were really helpful and no problem to change it.

Dolphins on the Captain Cook Swan River cruise

It was a beautiful experience, sat at a table for two, could see all the passing scenery and even saw three dolphins, not sure if anyone else saw them, but it made our day. The boat is beautiful, and next time we go, we won't get off at Fremantle we will do the return to Perth trip, which is only a bit dearer, but includes the delicious smelling food and we will treat ourselves to a beer.

Captain Cook cruise ship was very scenic along the river .Walking the main street with nice restaurant and bar and then browsing through the market was a good experience.

The air conditioning was set too cold for our trip, most people had coats on or had to sit outside but then missed the commentary. Otherwise a good trip

Good, knowledgeable commentary, Only criticism is how much noise staff made packing up tables & chairs. Made it not so relaxing but overall very good.

The information the captain was letting us know about the area the property values and history of the area

Somewhat boring, too slow, commentary uninspiring and

Somewhat boring and the commentary was less than exciting and sometimes inaudible. The Fremantle end is disappointing with the exception of the Maritime Museum. The town is not worth the trip.

Pros and cons

Friendly staff, the commentary on the way down to freo. The commentary was a little hard to follow at times, as delivered quite fast. Also on the way back, about half the commentary was missed. Although we'd heard it before, we would have liked to hear it again, to catch some of the details we missed earlier.

Great experience for Japanese visitors

The Friendship Force of Perth have just taken 15 visitors from the Friendship Force club of Western Tokyo on a great cruise down the Swan River to Fremantle. We have taken oversees guests on this cruise many times and it is always a highlight of their journey to Perth. Captain Cook Cruises always make sure we have a great time, they keep our visitors well informed through their great commentary and make us feel welcome. We’ll be doing the same trip again in October with a group from New Zealand. Thank you Captain Cook Cruises ……we’ll done!

Stunning cruise and great commentary

A stunning cruise between Perth and Freemantle. Great commentary from the captain and a nice spacious boat means that it's comfortable and great for viewing the landscapes as you pass. Decent selection of drinks (not much food) and complimentary tea and coffee. We really enjoyed the cruise and Freemantle was great. If you are staying in Perth then make plans to get to Freemantle and there is no better way of doing that than this cruise. NB: the commentary is difficult to hear if you are sat at the back of the boat on the rear outside platform.

A relaxing journey

A nice relaxing experience on the Swan River from Perth to Fremantle and return. The captain was knowledgeable and the crew were fantastic.

We had an amazing weekend on this cruise. Boat is not too big and not too small. Exactly right size. Windows were quite clean we were able too enjoy amazing view inside while sitting.

Captain cook cruise

Is was a great cruise ride from Barrack Jetty to Fremantle port. Gorgeous view from cruise.. The price include complimentary coffee or tea. It took 1 hour 15 minute to fremantle port.. Highly recommended. Tq

The cruise was comfortable and commentary was good. Buying tickets on line was easy. Refreshments available on board.

Went to the wrong location

The reason I have given 3 stars is because I followed the instructions in my email and got on board and they scanned my ticket but it was the wrong boat but no one told me so I went to the wrong place, they did sort it out for me and get me to the right place but with the tide they provided a bus and the journey was just a bit of a nightmare, still got 3 as they did sort it for me but only 3 as I should have been told it was the wrong boat

A great day to Fremantle.

Right from the very start (the booking process at the dock), to the end of the cruise, was a total joy. All of the staff were amazing and the captains commentary was well put across and very interesting. I would thoroughly recommend you use this service. Such an enjoyable day.

Seeing the sights from a water perspective

Great way to travel back from Fremantle. The captain pointed out landmarks and houses that we wouldn't have seen otherwise. The trip was relaxing and we were able to enjoy a drink along the way!

A great way to see Perth and surrounds

We took a one way scenic cruise to Fremantle. The journey took approximately one and a quarter hours, very relaxing and with excellent commentary from the captain. Plenty of opportunity to take photos or simply watch the world go by. The staff were very friendly and passengers can purchase hot and cold drinks on board. This is an excellent way to view Perth and the surrounding waterside suburbs.

Nice cruise but no cashback

Viator often offer up to 20% off via a purchase through topcashback. Had a great trip but do not expect to get your cashback. I have booked 3 different trips at different times. They riggle out of paying every time. Don't be fooled or rely on these kind of offers working out.
