Loved harvesting the pearl and retrieving one....

The most amazing experience every, learning about how the pearl is harvest and also harvesting one yourself. Loved it. This is excellent to do and see if are on holidays in Perth.

What an amazing experience! John picked us up from our hotel and then we collected others along the way. We set off along, what John described as “the Kimberley Back Massage Road” and arrived at Willi Creek Pearl Farm around 40 mins later. John was our ‘guide’ for the rest of our trip. We started off in the Nursery where he introduced staff members along with Paul the CEO and then proceeded to explain how the pearl farm had come about with the Banfield family who still own it and more importantly still work there. We then went out onto the water. Saw Nigel (one of the resident crocs) and then to drag up some oyster shells to check on their wellbeing. Back to base for the most divine lunch which we had prebooked with out tickets and which I highly recommend. We sat on the deck, overlooking the water enjoying ourselves along with a rather welcome glass of Chardonnay! We all assembled again to ‘harvest’ the oyster that we had been given as a group at the beginning of the tour. High excitement when John gently prised open the shell to reveal ……. A beautiful 15mm pearl! Well it all looked beautiful to us, sadly it didn’t make the grade we were told. Finally, a peruse around the shop,looking at the beautiful pearls. The Staff were not at all pushy for us to buy. They were just as happy as we all were admiring and asking questions. In saying this, I am the proud owner of a stunning pair of pearl earrings which I chose with the help of Kat in the shop (and hubby of course)! Highly, highly recommend this trip. You will love it and come away with amazing knowledge of pearls and their environments.

A Great Experience

Great tour. Entertained the whole family. We self drove out, muddy red dirt road could prove difficult for some, but we were ok. Heard their tour bus got bogged on the way in - all part of the adventure! We were stoked that my daughter was able to enjoy refreshments with us as the service supplied GF damper (!!) and chocolate cake alternatives. Fran, our guide was able to answer all of the questions fired at her (our 10 Yr old mostly) and was a pleasure to listen to. It was a great experience to learn about Broome's Pearling history and new developments as well.

Definitely worth experiencing

It was a good experience. Never knew so much about a pearl and its life. Pearl is white and round, but so much more to it. Did not get keep pearl harvested but got another pearl worth value. Harvested pearl would have been more value to me for experience.

Thoroughly enjoyed the willie creek pearl farm tour, so amazing & the staff were so knowledgeable & enthusiastic. Added bonus we got to experience the creek & boat ride at high tide! Special thanks to Lisa our guide for making the day so interactive & fun!

Very enjoyable & informative tour

We really enjoyed this tour and thought it was such a value for money. The information and tour of the process was so informative and interesting. From the start to the boat trip and finishing with an actual pearl harvest. Very nice touch with a small snack and drink in the middle. Very well done and highly recommended.

Definitely worth it.

It was so interesting to learn the processes of the pearling industry. The staff were fabulous and extremely knowledgeable. Pearling was definitely in their blood. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and would highly recommend it. Before you leave, buy yourself a treat from the showroom. The pearls are absolutely stunning.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! A "PEARLER" OF AN GIFT

My hubby Vince, gave me a wonderful birthday gift - a Willie Creek Pearls "Harvest Your Own Pearl" Private Couples Tour in the city at Elizabeth Quay. It was a two hour educational extravaganza, with Margaret River bubbles, tasting the delicacy of Pearl Meat, and the excitement of birthing (harvesting) my birthday pearl that could be valued anywhere between $500 - $5000. Even the Broome Peal Master doesn't know until the Pinctada Maxima is opened and all is revealed! It was ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS! Mihoco (Miki) was amazing throughout and I loved every single minute of the experience. She and Carol (in the showroom) couldn't do enough to help us decide on how best to have my new baby boy set. If you are wanting a unique, once in a lifetime experience for someone who loves pearls - this is it!

Put it on your to-do list

Learned a lot and have a new found appreciation for pearls. Guides were informative the morning tea was a nice surprise. Would recommend. Even our teenagers were happy 😀

A Broome must do….a ‘cracker day’

Easy and interesting drive in, warmly greeted and welcomed on arrival ….a great start when being a ‘traveller’ Tour was informative, easy to access and egress, Joe and Beau shared industry knowledge and the farm workings with ease and great humor. The showroom staff were amazing as well, it was fun to try on some of their range in a a casual environment with out any pressure. We elected to stay on for their paddle board lunch and enjoyed the food and ambience. A great value day out for everyone, highly recommend this tour

Awesome experience in beautiful Broome

Had the best day here, absolutely amazing views and I learnt so much, our tour guide Rahim was extremely knowledgeable and knew every little detail from start to finish about harvesting pearls, I highly recommend going for a visit and tour when your in Broome as you won’t be disappointed

Excellent experience with the Willie creek pearl farm, drive was good, nice little 4x4 track which is required but can be performed with a rear wheel drive with a bit of experience touch wood that u don’t get stuck, tour was fantastic. Recommend this

Must do in Broome

Great day out and a must do when in Broome. Learnt more than I ever thought I would about the pearling industry. Tour was fun and very informative. Highly recommend booking the lunch. All staff very welcoming and accommodating. Can do the self drive with an SUV and not 4x4 this time of year, but check with staff before departure.

Gaining experience to enable one to Aquire the best quality pearls

We drove out to the creek to experience the farm tour and must compliment the entire staff for their exceptional service. The tour provided education,experience and understanding of the process with cultured pearls. The visual aids and hands on certainly enables people of all ages and abilities to participate I would highly recommend this to be on your bucket list of things to do.

Fabulous tour from the pick up at our caravan park with Dave, filling us in on all the interesting bits of Broome and surrounds to the talk with Caleb, in the harvesting room and on the boat cruising the sample of an actual pearl farm to the morning tea of damper, choc cake and iced tea or coffee to the showroom where you can buy a piece of this Ausyraluan product. Amazing zmazing amazing worth every penny. A must do in Broome.

What a great day. Maya gave us a fantastic tour guide, she was very knowledgeable. The tour was very informative, and we got to harvest a Keshi Pearl that was over 4.6 grams. The discount at the store was appreciated.

Best pearl experience.

An excellent tour that explains how oysters are grown and how the pearls are produced. The tour guide was fun and very knowledgeable. The group gets to harvest a pearl and have it valued. The morning tea was excellent and food was delicious. All the team members were happy, helpful and friendly. We did purchase a beautiful necklace. This is well worth the money and very enjoyable.

Beautiful & educational experience

Wow what a beautiful place to visit, the tour was informative and educational, the drive there & back a bit rough as it’s unsealed roads. We had the meat & seafood board Devine.. well Worth a visit

Great experience

We went as a small group and it was a unique and exciting experience harvesting our own pearls. Delicious champagne, pearl meat and mango sorbet were served while we learnt about the history and harvesting of pearls. I chose not to keep my pearl and had fun choosing a pearl pendant in the shop with the help of the lovely helpful staff.

Amazing Tour!!

Wow what an amazing talent Caleb our tour guide was! So knowledgeable and entertaining he really did an incredible job explaining the whole cultured pearling process. Morning tea was fantastic and was great to have a chat with Rob (the owner). Great family business which should be supported.

Was such an interesting tour. Stewie our guide was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable and such a nice bloke just like Rob the owner. Would recommend this tour as a must do while your in Broome.

Harvest your own pearl and keep it

This experience was my surprise Christmas gift to my darling wife to mark our 25 SILVER anniversary. We had already taken a trip to Broome to celebrate the day on Sept 28, 2020, but we never managed to visit Willie Creek Pearls farm while there. But we did visit their jewelry store and learned so much about pearls that we just had to do something else, or our experience would not be complete. Harvesting the pearl is the best part of the experience. Some of the preliminary explanations leading up to the harvest event are also interesting, and our lady host was animated and enthusiastic. There is nothing quite as thrilling as finding a pearl inside an oyster, even if it is not an especially valuable one, which is perhaps the more likely outcome. We were told that only 20% of Pearls harvested from oysters make the cut for use in fine jewelry. The rest are used for industrial products. We didn't keep our little creamy pearl, valued at $120. But we should've. It wasn't flawless, but it was still pretty and probably could've been mounted on a simple ring in a way to hide the few imperfections. Well, maybe not. In the end we bought a lovely silver pearl mounted on a white gold ring from among those that were on display in the shop - cost $1190. And my wife says she'd like to do it again. Perhaps she'll do the Live Pearl Harvest Experience - Perth where you don't get to keep the Pearl - the shop does.

Willy Creek Pearl Farm not to be missed

What an absolutely amazing experience ... we did the drive to Willy Creek ourselves from Broome and found that the normal 3 km road was flooded so Willy Creek organised another route and marked up the drive so well .. thanks guys. We were a little early for the tour so spent some time in the shop looking at the beautiful pearls and jewellery designs. Stuart was amazing and full of knowledge, Lisa was fabulous in showing us the jewellery, and Matty was so interesting to listen to talking about how the pearls are cultured and the jobs that have to be done for the oysters/shells/ pearls. Do not miss out on this amazing experience .. I learnt so much during our tour, great morning tea provided, and also a fab kitchen/ cafe with great service.

Great day, great information and great people at Willie Creek Pearl Farm

We had a great experience with the Willie Creek Pearl Farm tour today (8th March). The booking process was easy (thank you Broome Visitors Center) and the pick up stops were also easy to find. Paul our bus driver was right on time and provided a great mini tour of Broome and gave us lots of information on our ride to the farm. We were greeted once we arrived to the farm and the tour was great!! It included a fab boat tour of the creek area and our boat guide Matt gave great details on how oysters were cared for (including live demonstrations). The afternoon tea break was simple but delicious and plentiful! But mostly our tour was made especially fantastic by our overall tour guide, Lisa. She was super knowledgeable about the entire pearling process, she was funny, upbeat and kept everyone engaged. She definitely made the tour that much more special - and we would highly recommend trying to book in to one of the tours she leads. Great day, great information and great people at Willie Creek. Definitely put them on your list if you are heading to Broome.

Learning all about pearls in a fun way

An interesting tour for approx 2 hours where you learn all about pearls. If you have the chance, drive there by yourself - I love dirt road driving - it’s a beautiful scenery and lots of fun. The tour itself starts with an introduction with video, then an practical part where you see the different kind of pearls and where you learn more about the harvest. After a morning tea break with yummy scones, you get on a boat to see more of the work to harvest pearls and to enjoy the amazing surrounding.

Fantastic experience, yes my partner was picked to explore an oyster opened in front of us and A PEARL was there she was beside herself until told she could not keep it. Staff were very experienced and explained the whole operation in great detail ( in everyday English) both on shore and then on the water well worth the cost and could not recommend highly enough. A word of advice take the tour bus DO NOT drive your own vehicle as the trip out to the farm is an experience in itself

From the moment you step on the helicopter to the moment you arrive to the farm its a whole learning experience. The trip to Willie Creek is a must for all that visit Broome.
