Versailles Palace Guided Tour with Coach Transfer from Paris

Incorrect end time cost us $400

EXTREMELY pissed off!! Tour end time listed as 4pm. When that was actually just the time to meet back at the bus (which was then 20 mins late) to then drive 45 mins back into the city - actual end time 5:10pm. We missed out on a following food tour in Paris that cost us $400 because we had expected to be back in Paris at the "end time" and had planned accordingly. Also... this was a 1 hour guided tour followed by 3 hours of self-guided exploring - NOT a half day tour!

Great tour of Versailles Palace - just bring your own snacks to save on time

Our tour was well organized with the tour guide at Versailles being very knowledgeable and passionate in what he does. He was a gentleman and knowledgeable as he took us around Versailles Palace and its very grand settings. It is a spectacle to watch and observe the sheer opulence of this place that the Kings and Royalty lived in. A great visit and would recommend to anyone that has a time. The only issue was the venue did not adequate catering facilities for the volume of visitors it received. It was more practical in ordering snacks to save on time so that you have more time to visit the Gardens that are just very extensive, beautiful and unique in nature. If possible carry some sandwiches and snacks to the site to make better use of your time here.

Nice gardens and good guide

Really enjoyed the guide Martha's explanation and tidbits and stories. The palace itself was pretty. The gardens were a good walk if the weather is good

Can’t hear anything

The ear pieces were so BAD it was difficult to hear the guide and they do not stay in your ears and need to be held up to ear. It is very unfortunate that your tour can’t include the in ear headphones. Ancient equipment. Choose a different tour with a different company

Recommended tour while in Paris

Good introductory tour to Versailles. Spent 1.5hr in there. Could do more, but not covered in this tour, since it’s so big. The self guided visit to the garden, or visit to neighboring cuisines were nice. The coach driver was nice.

Great tour guides

This was an amazing group of people, from Evelyn, Omar and Patrick. They were knowledgeable, helpful and inspiring about the trip, the history and the culture.

A great guide in Tina.

Tina was a great guide through the Palace of Versailles. She was able to fill in historical information about the kings and queens of Versailles for those with limited historical knowledge but still able to answer more difficult quest from those with knowledge of French history. You could tell that she enjoyed explaining about the building, its contents and its history. She was very attentive of the needs and limitations of her charges. She made a pleasant trip to the palace even more special.

Good visit/Bad tour guide

The organization of the tour and the bus rides to and from were great. Versailles itself was amazing, with the gardens being a highlight for me and my kids. However, the guide for the tour was not good. He barely communicated any logistics to our group of 20, was rude and uninformed, and we spent more time trying to follow him and keep up with him because he never told us when he was moving room to room while we would be stuck in large crowds of visitors. We spent most of our time making sure we were near him in case he quickly moved on, which definitely takes away from the experience. In one case, a family of 5 had lost one ticket to get in, and all he said was "Thats too bad. You can't come in." He could've helped them problem solve the issue, but he didn't. He was that bad... The Versailles trip was entirely worth it, but I'd ask the management company to vet their tour guides better. They can make or break a once in a lifetime experience! Find guides who are personable, knowledgeable, understand how to manage large groups, and be prepared to help their customers.

So beautiful, but so crowded

Viewing the rooms in the palace. Extraordinary gardens. Extremely difficult to get any information about how to find the "meeting place " in Paris. Viator does not respond to requests for information, they want your money but don't give service.

A well run tour

The tour was well organized and the guide was very knowledgeable. Versailles was incredibly busy (can't be avoided), and entering with the group was worth the faster entry. The gardens are fantastic. I did the half day tour, but would have liked to have more time to explore the gardens.

A fun learning experience … great despite the crowds!

Máxime, our tour guide, was not only remarkably knowledgeable but lively and entertaining! Such a joy to be part of his group! I highly recommend him. I had already been in Versailles a few years ago but it wasn’t explained in such detailed and interesting manner! Book with him!

Beautiful historical environment, disappointing tou

Enjoyed Versailles but disappointed in the tour experience. On the Bus going out the guide whispered even though we sat right across from her. No one heard her. Bus didn’t have outlets or a bathroom. Our guide in Versailles was knowledgeable but everything said was rote. We might as well had an audiobook. The guide had no personality nor did he try to engage us. I understand the number of visitors each day, but seriously he made no effort. The return bus was over half an hour late picking us up. Once the bus arrived, the person assisting us to return to Paris had difficulty locating the bus. By far one of the worst tour experiences we have had. Thankfully we had a beautiful day to enjoy Versailles!

DO NOT BOOK

Do not BOOK! I mías the bus by 10 min but tried contacting the tour guide and Viator app multiple times half an hr before meeting time. I decided to get to the palace of Versailles on my own. Had no luck getting a response from guide or Viator. After 2 hrs finally had someone on the line in regards to my tickets they said tour guide had them and couldn’t get them to me. Tour guide never responded and Viator will not give me a refund. Over $400 down the drain and had to purchase tickets at Versailles. I explained what happened to workers there and they said it’s best to buy directly through them because tickets aren’t expensive and there are lots of tours that SCAM!!!

Wonderful time, beautiful palace

Our tour guide, Ahmed, was great and very knowledgeable on all things in the palace. We had the best city wonder person go with us to Versailles on the bus who gave us some advice on things to do while in Paris. The destination pick up was very easy to find and the only people at that destination were people going on this trip. The trip itself was wonderful, the palace, the gardens, all very beautiful. The big city wonder person met us at the monument, but did not ride the coach bus back to Paris with us. We were told we would be dropped off at the same place we were picked up at, we were not dropped off at the same place. That was not an issue with us as we were walking anyways, but it was unsettling that we got dropped off at a different location after being told we would be in the same location. Other than that minor issue, it was overall a great trip.

The tour of the Palace was wonderful & our guide Flor did a wonderful job describing the rooms we visited & the history of the palace.

Tour in Versailles

This was a great tour! The guide Pierre Daveux did a great job. He was very dynamic and kept it interesting all the time. A nice detail is that he let us take a picture of his badge just in case we get lost. Very thoughtful of him! If I do it again I'll definitely ask for Pierre.

Our guide was so experienced. The tour was so interesting. He had a great sense of honour. It was very well organised.

Versailles guided tour

Our tour was on a rainy day so we selected the “skip the line” tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and managed to weave us nicely through the rooms. So why the 4 stars and not the 5? This was my third visit to Versailles, however, I had my granddaughters with me and it was their first. I didn’t want them to miss anything nor did I want us to be exceedingly wet. In the future I and they will do the audio tour so we can spend as much of as little time in each room as we wish. If I could rate our guide, Natalie, separately, she would receive 5 stars.

Get organized! Wrong meeting point was given! Missed Tour!

My clients were given the wrong address for the meeting site. While they received a refund they missed the tour to Versailles. This was a grandmother, daughter and granddaughter group and a dream trip. They won't be able to easily come back. No one even tried to reschedule the tour for them. I am so disappointed for this family!

Versailles - Great Tour Guide - Terrible Bus

The tour guide was great! Very informative and passionate. The bus, however, was terrible. The bathroom door kept opening and slamming after every stop and start. The seats are cracked and the suspension is non-existent. The driver went through several red lights and was very heavy on the gas and brake. The ride was awful.

Versailles in a day.

Walking through the hall of mirrors. Walking in the gardens. Visiting Versailles with a guide opens up a world of unknown knowledge.

All laughs during a somber day

Nazli our tour guide was great! She was able to maneuver our group through the most crowded rooms in Versailles around other guests with ease, while still giving us plenty of information to digest about each individual room and its contents. She made us laugh and kept everyone’s spirits up during a rainy day. She knew her stuff and made the visit worthwhile. Would definitely do it again and recommend the tour to anyone looking for a grand time, as grand as the Palace of Versailles, thanks to Nazli!

A must do while in Paris

this was a great adventure, and our guide was very knowledgeable and efficient we had a great time, this property was unbelievable gardens are huge.

Negative experience

Never get to the tour, they change the meeting point and never reach us by mail, phone call or text. We were one hour ahead of time at 7:30 am, and it was for 8:30 am to leave the meeting point. I called at 7:49 am, they place my call in a waiting list. Then called again at 8:16 am and by that time the person who answered the call told us the change of the meeting point. We booked the tour since March 2024. We asked for refund due to their neglected service and attention to our group.

Loved it!! June, our guide, was very informative but not too much. Enjoyed the skip the line feature. The gardens were beautiful. Clear instructions on when and where to return. Very well organized. The coordinator, Evelyn, was cheerful and fun!!

Awesome

Sharing this experience with my wife it was very educational and I love the history of the palace. All the king and Queens that reign during those periods and the architects of those times were very artistic

Great time!

Having a guided tour was great! There were no problems getting through the gates in a timely manner. The grounds were beautiful. I was happy that we had plenty of time to grab something to eat and tour the grounds afterwards.

Palace of V

The tour was great but wish it was longer. Our guide only toured us for a hour and half then we had two and half hours to walk around ourselves. Beautiful place.

Not good if things go wrong

Very dissatisfied that you were not able to exchange dates when I missed my bus due to illness and would not refund me for it either. I had to book another tour for an additional $200, I had two other bookings with you and you still didn’t provide me and consideration for a refund, even a limited refund I hope you can consider at least partial please

Amazing Tour

I learned so much about the history of Versailles on the tour. Our guide was known and shared a lot of great history behind the palace and the monarchy.

They do not have WhatsApp so we could not call anybody

We arrived 15’ earlier to the exact location. It was raining hard after waiting and waiting we divided to leave thinking the tour was cancelled. I already wrote to the company, I want a full refund.

Our tour guide, Cosette, was excellent. She is so knowledgeable about so many things we were seeing and telling us about the history of the Louvre itself. I would give her a “10”!! The only negative was the lack of clarity on the location of the meeting point. It is a huge area, so why not say the meeting point is beside the statue of Louis 14??

Great Experience

Our group guide Omar was fantastic, very knowledgeable and had a fun way of explaining the palace. The bus to and from Paris was nice and comfortable. Maybe incorporate a guided tour of the gardens for an hour in the package provided and add a WhatsApp number to the contact information on the voucher.

Just ok

This tour was just ok in my opinion. The transfer from Paris was easy to find and comfortable. They had the tickets for the palace and the gardens for us already, which was convenient. There was a guide through the palace, but it was so crowded that it was hard to follow him. I'm not really sure I gained much from having the guide. However, I think it would have been nice to have a guide in the gardens, but we did not.

Bad experience

When we originally booked our tour we were given a starting address for tour. We were at that spot to begin our tour and discovered they had changed the pick up location and we missed our tour, no refund or credit was discussed. We had already taken five other Viator tours on this trip with no problem. I am making a long story short but beware of Viator.

A Guided Tour is a Must

Patrick was great and Frederick was so knowledgeable about the palace rooms and artwork. Versailles is such a stunning complex of buildings and so well preserved.

Gregory the guide was fantastic

Gregory was a most excellent guide! We loved the way he told the stories behind the artefacts that was easy to follow and also injected w humour and expression! The tour was quite well-organised but the main reasons for 5 stars was really the quality of the guide :D

Guided tour is a must

Getting to starting area is a bit inconvenient but we did get there with little time to spare. The drive to Versailles is not scenic but less than an hour. The palace is magnificent and our guide was very friendly and informative. Downside is the gardens were bare of any flowers and the fountains were not on.

Great highlight tour of Versailles

As an American in Paris this is the tour you want to take. Our tour guide Maxim really was a 10 out of 10. He brought the experience to life and was very informative, charismatic and timely. You could spend 2 full days in the palace of Versailles and not see everything, but if you want a short informative tour with the highlights of the palace, this tour is for you!

Don’t trust the info you receive.

I received my voucher with directions of where to go. There was even a small clip of a map. It told me the meeting point was in front of the Hyatt regency. The star in the map showed exactly what cross roads to be in between. Turns out the bus picked people up the next block down and with the traffic, there was no way to see this. There were 3 other parties who also missed the buss with the same directions. We were denied a refund even though we were never informed of a change of location.

The gardens were my favorite part, definitely get the tour with the gardens. The king’s & queen’s rooms were interesting.

Breath Taking

What a beautiful place!!! We are so happy we did this tour. Our tour guide was very helpful very informative. The tour itself was good too. If you get the tickets to the garden, rent a golf cart! We are so glad we did 🤗

VIATOR IS A SCAM COMPANY

The most memorable parts of my experience with Viator are that taking my money for the Versailles Tour was as smooth as silk. My wife and were at the designated pick up spot 30 minutes early. No one was there from Viator and there was no coach to take us to Versailles. We spent $40 Euros on Uber to get there and back to our AIRBNB. I immediately made a claim for a refund. No one has attempted to contact me about my claim. If you want to see Versailles DO NOT USE VIATOR. Walk if you have to.
