Excellent tour of Versailles!

We enjoyed our tour of Versailles we had Ana amazing tour guide, Monica. She was lovely and lively and we enjoyed it very much.

Excellent Tour

We met Berrick at Montparnasse who escorted us from Paris to meet our guide Cecille. We had a pleasant surprise as we had previously met Cecille on a tour of the Latin Quarter. Berrick was very enthusiastic and helpful, organising train tickets, and escorting us to the Palace. We were very impressed with the tour which included the Palace, Gardens and Petit Triannon. Cecille was very fluent, possessing excellent knowledge of the history and culture of the Palace, Gardens, Petit Triannon and the members of the Royal Families who lived there. We would recommend this tour to anyone who has an interest in French History and Culture. If we visit Paris again we hope we are lucky enough to again have Cecille as our guide.

The tour guide Astrid was AMAZING! I was skeptical of an 8 hr tour but it was totally worth the time energy and money!

Breath Taking Place, must see!!!

Very well organised with great guide who was very knowledgeable and we had a good amount of time at every special monument and the gardens.

Great tour! Ivan the leader was Incredible and very knowledgeable. One full day was not enough to explore every corner of this special place, but this tour does an amazing job at hitting the highlights.

Versailles and Garden Tour

We enjoyed this tour very much. It was interesting to see where some of the Olympic events were going to take place. The gardens were as beautiful as the palace.

Versailles done right!

This ticket was well worth the experience and allowed us to get the most out of the visit to this location. Our guide, Mr. Achilles, was phenomenal. His master degrees in both history and iconology, gave such perspective and unique insights. We would highly recommend this experience for anyone considering a visit here.

The best way to spend your day at Versailles

The tour was excellent. We learned a lot. Skipping the lines, learning from an expert about all the details of the palace is well worth the expense I would tell all of my friends that this only way to go. Our guide was a bit of a royalist, which made it even more interesting. Plan on doing a lot of walking, we put in 12,000 steps. It rained when we were there, but it was not a big issue. Some of the paths in the Trianon were muddy, bring appropriate footwear.

Wonderful Day in Versailles

The day was everything I thought it would be and more. Guide was very good tour was nicely paced, and I couldn’t be happier.

Bring Walking Shoes for Verailles - Your Gonna Walk!

Best advice - WALKING SHOES - almost 18k steps! I have seen pictures of Versailles over the years, nothing can prepare you for the size of the palace, and the wealth around one person. Be certain to go into the gardens and then go to Marie Antoinette's home/garden. Bring a power pack for your phone as you will take lots of pictures. Transportation worked well - even though I had some concerns - you meet on a local corner in Paris with a guide who gives you a train tickets and accompanies you to the palace - but you on your own on the train - the guide hands you off to a local guide - who was OUTSTANDING and could work with a diverse group and walking needs. At the end - she gives you a ticket for the train home - you can leave when you want. A good value for the fees charged.

Enjoyable experience

Stephanie was a great tour guide. Versailles is very large which is why we chose this tour. We covered a good portion of the Chateau and saw the gardens. I would recommend seeing the Marie Antoinette's houses since it was less crowded/not common knowledge.

Excellent guide. Spectacular palace and gardens

Guide was amazing and the palace is spectacular. We especially loved Queens hamlet. It was a stark contrast to the opulence in the palace but at the same time so serene and beautiful

A fabulous day at Versailles

I always love Versailles! Our tour guide was great and very knowledgeable. We got lots of steps in so be prepared to walk, but it was a fabulous way to see the gardens, Le Grand Trianon, Le Petit Trianon, and the Hamlet.

Perfect Versailles/Petit Trianon tour

The guide was superb, very informative and group size was perfect. Loved the petit Trianon, a must see. I would go again.

Don’t go until May

Tour guide was terrific and the place interesting. But it was very crowded in the palace and freezing outside.

Two Thumbs Up

We greatly enjoyed our visit to Versailles. Ivan was a virtual fountain of knowledge--full of interesting anecdotes and a fun person in general.

Great tour and we recommend it

The morning started out with Billy from Memories France arriving late. It was a 20 minute setback, but Billy made up for it in his personality and stories. His job was to get us on the train, and when we got to Versailles, he passed us off to the palace tour guide, Astrid. Astrid was a great guide. She was knowledgeable, told great stories, and navigated our group quite well through the sea of people in the palace. A+! Unfortunately, my wife was ill and we only did the beginning of the garden tour. I spoke with another person from our group the following day, and she said the garden tour was very interesting and enjoyable except for a little bit of rain, cold weather, and wind :-( Even though we started out a bit late and we couldn't finish the tour, I still give it 5 stars. I would do it again.

Best tour and Best Tour Guide

The tour guide made the history of France come alive by her description of the over-the-top spending of the reigning kings and Queens during the time of the expansion of Versailles. It is no wonder that the people of France were fed up with the monarchy and decided to revolt. To get a better grasp of France and European history…take this Tour.

Amazing Day at versailles!

This was the best tour we had while in Paris. Our guide was amazing and gave us incredible insights into history . His knowledge of French history was encyclopedic and he made it enjoyable. The tour was never dry or dull. If you have the time take the full day. It is well worth it.

Do the Full day tour!

If you're going out to Versailles, make it the day trip! Don't settle for the half day. Beautiful tour inside the palace itself and a small bit of the gardens for half day tour. After we let the half day people leave we got to see another side of the property that was truly amazing. It is a long day and a good bit of walking but everything was beautifully done!

Wonderful day at versailles

The guide for the all day tour in Versailles on oct 19 was excellent-the best we have ever had. It required a good deal of walking ,several miles. The description indicated moderate walking. In addition the meeting place was unclear. It listed a street with no address.

Worth every pound!

This was a lovely tour even though we had a mother and daughter duo that were quite irritating and dominated our guide, Claire, but she handled the situation very well.

Worth Every Penny!

We were met by Olivier to begin our excursion to Versailles. He was warm, authentic and engaging. He hit us safely to Versailles and the palace entrance where he handed us off to Perrine. What a fantastic guide she was, full of energy, in depth information and a charming personality. All smiles and tons of animated explanations made for an informed and extremely enjoyable afternoon. From the palace, through the gardens and the hamlet, Perrine was one of the best guides I’ve ever had. It was a long day with a lot of walking but she never had anything less than a welcoming smile the entire time.

Great experience.

Versailles was beautiful, everything I expected to be and more. Trip was organised perfectly; our Versailles guide Perrine was wonderful. Thank you for the amazing experience, I will be back :)

Phenomenal Tour of Versailles!

Our full day tour of Versailles was absolutely wonderful! We did the tour on October 5, 2023. Our guide was the best! Extremely knowledgeable of Versailles, history, all of the best ways to see the sights and also told very interesting back stories of the history and people. He made our day one of the highlights of our trip to Paris. I am so glad we decided to tour Versailles with him rather than try to do it on our own. We saw the Palace, then walked thru the gardens, stopped for a lunch break, then went to see Marie-Antoinette"s area including the Petit Trianon and hamlet. And all along, our guide kept us informed and told great historical stories. HIs knowledge is Versailles was so impressive! We even went to dinner in Paris at a restaurant he told us about and it was a great way to end the day!

Exhausting, but almost incomprehensible so much beauty to pack into one fabulous estate.

Claire was our guide. She did an outstanding job with not only show patient, but also very informative. The only disappointment we had was that at 80 years old we had read the literature and assumed that the mini train would take us back and forth to the Palace at Versailles in Marie, Antoinette hamlet. That was not the case. And addition to the walk from the metro station to the main gate and then after Turin the palace to take the long walk again, instead of the daily train to Marie Antoinette‘s, Hamlet was very difficult. If you do not include the ride, both ways, I suggest you give seniors the opportunity to purchase The extra ticket.

Tour of Versailles, Le Petite Trianon and the Hamlet

The full day trip to Versailles was a very informative and enjoyable excursion. We had Stephanie Foury as our guide and she was incredible. Not only was she extremely knowledgable about all aspects of Versailles, Le Petite Trianon and the Hamlet, but she was a pure joy to be with. She was attentive to the varying needs and capabilities of the group, and made sure that every aspect of the tour was handled in a professional and attentive manner.

We saw everything. The guide was great! The farm and the Marie Antoinette mini Castle were very interesting.

Good tour- lot’s of historical info

Our guide, Umberto, was great. There was some confusion and chaos re taking the train out, and trying to keep track of a large group ,so this part wouldn’t suit everyone. The amount of history that we learned from the guided tour was worth it to us.

Great day

This tour is absolutely amazing. Very experienced and knowledgeable guide. Knows how to keep things interesting. Answered questions. I had one he had no answer to, so he messaged his colleagues and we figured it out.

Excellent tour despite the rain.

Humberto is a terrific guide. He is very knowledgeable, and he constantly explained everything to us. He tried to do his best despite the rainy and cold day we had. I will recommend this tour with Humberto to anyone who wants to get a deep understanding of the history of Versailles.

Combo ticket is worth it

It was a solid 5 hours, and well worth it. With this ticket you can take a “tiny train” to Marie Antoinette Trianon first, then work your way up. Or catch the train back to the palace and start from there next, Also, important to download the App which shows you the “must sees” in the palace gardens

Too much of a mess

Tour guide was very nice and helpful, but the company was a mess. The tour guide microphone didn't work for a lot of the trip or was static and couldn't get a replacement. They also did not give me correct RER tickets or provide me Petit train tickets back when I wanted to leave the tour early.

Total Tour of Versailles

Julie did a great job on our full day guided tour from Paris. Easy to meet guide in Paris and escort on the train to Versailles. Palace tour in morning, break for lunch and Petit Trianon and Hamlet tour in afternoon. Julie had excellent knowledge of Versailles. Very thorough and well organized. Bring water and be prepared for 8 miles of walking.

Wonderful!

This is a great tour. Versailles was amazing and seeing Marie Antoinette’s estate was superb. I highly recommend seeing both. The gardens at Marie Antoinette’s estate are AMAZING. It is like walking through a fairy tale. There was a lot of walking (I clocked 23000 steps) so wear good shoes! Ed was our tour guide and we really enjoyed his expertise and kindness…he was a great tour guide.

Not to be missed!

Outstanding tour and tour guide, a true historian, we continue to talk about the historical details provided even now that we are home! She was excellent, I felt as if I were in a college seminar. Wear sneakers, be prepared to walk, carry water and a small backpack, and of course, a camera. Versailles requires a minimum of one day to fully enjoy and understand.

Fantastic guided tour

We met a guide and the group at the designated place and all travelled together on the train to Versailles. We were provided with two train tickets, one for the trip there and the return. The guide brought us to the palace entrance and then introduced us to Sylvanie (sorry if I've spelled that wrong!) who was to be our guide for the day. Sylvanie was fantastic - informative, friendly and kept us moving at an ideal pace. She allowed time where we needed it and moved us through or ushered us into a corner when we needed to make space or couldn't linger for too long. The palace is incredibly busy so it takes skill to manage a group in that setting. We had headsets so we could always hear her clearly despite the crowds. She was super organised too, with tickets for each entry point and keeping us all together with clear instructions for meeting times, bathroom breaks (the 'secret' toilets had no lines!), where to get lunch depending on preference, etc. It was a big day - but it's the tour to do if you really want to soak up everything Versailles has to offer and to really learn about the history of the place. I'd been before without a guide and this experience was much richer. The only constructive feedback I'd give is that the first guide (from the train) probably could have spent 30 seconds explaining that the return train ticket could be used anywhere within the Paris metro and that people didn't need to return to the original meeting place from that morning. I saw people had a lot of questions about how to get back, and whether they needed to buy an additional ticket to get to their hotel, etc. No big deal and I'm sure everyone worked it out but there were a few people who seemed quite anxious/lost for a bit, and it would have only taken a minute to explain it to everyone. All in all though, a great day!

Great Way to Tour the Palace of Versailles!

The tour of Versailles and Trianon were wonderful. The guide was really knowledgeable and interesting. I did miss the bus pick up because the time in my itinerary said to meet at 9:00 AM and I was told later after I missed the bus it was 8:45 AM. Another issue was that the streets were closed due to some cycling event and my cab driver couldn't get me to the destination. So that also contributed to me missing the bus. It seemed that everyone knew those streets were going to be closed so a text from the tour company warning about it and letting people know to leave early would have been appreciated. One last thing was the directions to get on the train at the end of the day were non-existent. It was easy to find once I got directions but they were so vague it was alarming and I didn't know if I would be able to find the train. So more detailed and accurate information would be appreciated next time. The tour itself was incredible and well worth it.

Best Tour we had in Paris!

This is by far the best tour we ever did. We did the all day tour, the guide met us in Paris, it was easy to find the group. At Versailles we met the tour guide. Our guide was excellent. We all had earpieces so we could hear him all the time. It was a lot of walking but he never went super fast or slow. He knew right when to bring us into a small group and tell us something and when to tell us we would be going quick through something. He gave us so much interesting information and showed us way more the just listing to the audio guides. Bring water. We saw everything that was advertised on the detail. We had an hour to eat and it was plenty of time. The guide told us of the options of where to go to eat and they were all right at the break point. On a side note, the food was fabulous, even though it was sandwiches and quiche. We then went to Marie Anionites apartment/village. We ended by taking the small open tram back to the main estate. Then made if easily back to the metro and home. I can not recommend this tour enough. It was a great day and we learned so much and had a great time and meal.

Great company, great guide

We loved this tour, we loved the tour company, and we loved our guide Umberto. If we could give him 10 stars we would - true professional, very knowledgable, answered every question, enthusiastic and engaging... We were running late to the meeting point because the metro station near us was closed, we hired taxi and there was a horrendous traffic and the detour. Finally, we decided to leave that taxi and run. The company representative called us 7 minutes before the beginning of the tour to make sure we were coming and we were able to explain our situation. Poor communication and unable to contact

Due to a marathon race in Paris, the roads were closed. In addition, the metro line we needed was closed for repairs. This made it impossible to get to the meeting point for the tour on time. This in not the fauilt of the tour operator but it would have been nice if they had provided a phone number where we could reach them. The only number was for the office which was not open until later. Before leaving on our trip, I provided the tour operator with a phone number where I could be reached and explained that I would not be reachable on my cell phone while out of the U.S. I confirmed that they had the new number. On the morning of the tour, the tour operator only tried to reach me on my cell number which I had told them would not work outside of the U.S. Due to all of this, we missed the train to Versaille and the tour but were not offered any refund. We had to pay for our own train tickets to Versaille and did not get to go into the Palace. If the tour guide would have brought our palace tickets with him, the Versaille ticket office said we could have exchanged them for a different time but he did not bring them. He also did not bring our return train tickets so we also had to pay for our return train to Paris. Overall, we paid a lot of money and did not get even a partial refund. Very disappointing! We did however enjoy seeing the gardens, the farm, and Marie Antoinette's cottage which is the only positive thing I can really say. Wish we could have seen the Palace!

I would recommend this special tour.

Pleasant tour. Ivan was an informative guide who made often me smile. The highlight was definitely The Petite Trianon and her farm - so charming. The group size wasn’t too large and lunch was actually delicious.

Best Tour Ever!

We had an amazing day with Romain! He provided so much history and information about Versailles, the aristocracy, and the French people. It was impressive and awe inspiring.

It could’ve been great, yet…

There is so much to see! The grounds are fabulous, we were blown away with the music playing in the formal miles and miles of gardens. The palace is also amazing—room after room of magnificent things to see. Do NOT miss the Trianon and hamlet of Marie Antoinette! Yet, sadly, our guide seemed a bit disorganized and not as thoroughly knowledgeable as we had expected. Renting an audio tour *may* have been better, though we do not know this for sure.

Wonderful Versailles Visit

Wonderful guide took us all through Versailles, the gardens and Marie’s Antoinette’s estate. She was really well informed and very pleasant. Would definitely recommend!

Great experience. Money...

Great experience. Money well spent. The guide, Rosaria, was really great and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed the hour and a bit between the main chateau and the hamlet to go to and hirer a boat.
