Terrible experience

Very disorganized we were supposed to leave at 11am we didn’t leave until 11:40 didn’t get there till 12:30 told we had to be back at the bus at 2:50- not very much time to see any thing - get back at 2:50 no bus anywhere - finally find the rude tour person the bus will be late we waited in the hot sun 40 minutes - worst experience I’d give a zero if possible

Hallfday trip to Versailles

The coach was great with a friendly driver and a great guide who gave very concise info regarding times, pick up point etc. The Palace itself is exquisitely beautiful. But......the audio guide was useless. I downloaded the app and plugged in my headphones but got very little help from the staff as to how to use the guide??? A list of numbers come up on the guide but these did not correspond to the actual areas in the Palace. I was lost.

OK visit

The tour guide was great, but the site was a little underwelming. No real direction on how to walk the building and grounds.

Grand Palace of France

Wow to see so much history and art work. Loved it all. My favorite was hall of mirrors. Great to download audio from an ap on your phone.

Versailles

Definitely spend your time doing the gardens. So vast and large. We didn’t end up with enough time to see it all but absolutely beautiful. Versailles itself was large and amazing to see what it looked like centuries ago.

Not delivered on what it advertised

Incredibly overpriced for what it was. It offered a five hour trip to Versailles with one hour outbound and one hour inbound. We left at 8.15am and we were in Versailles by 8.45. We then were pointed to a queue for the 9.30am entry and were told we would be picked up at 11.50am. So basically by the time we gained entry we had just over two hours when the assumption was at least 3. There was also some mention of self guided audio tour which we never received. It would have worked out better to just get a ride to the palace and book separately and would have had much more time.

Disappointing

No real visit to Versailles—after waiting in line for a half hour, we had maybe 15 minutes in the site before a bomb threat evacuation and the closing of Versailles for the day. Then we stood on the pavement wondering how we were going to get back to Paris. Luckily we spotted someone from our tour and eventually made it on a bus and back to Paris. Altogether, very disappointing.

Great sight to see; guide was a poor director and communicator.

A must see for travellers. We really thought the Palace was incredible and if our guide had been more communicative we would have spent an extra hour enjoying the sights. He neglected to steer our group to the correct line and we waited 45 mins longer to get in than we needed to. Really a shame since we were all so limited with time to begin with.

Half day at Versailles

We liked being on our own and deciding what we wanted to see. The Hall of Mirrors was a highlight in the palace. The opulence was beyond description! The gardens were amazing and we just scratched the surface given the allotted time. If we were to do it again, we would book an entire day in order to spend more time in the gardens and not feel rushed.

Easy way to see the palace

Good tour - booked it for my parents who are seniors. They had a good time. The only thing to bear in mind is that at the palace they just give you an audio guide, the guide from the company doesn't actually accompany you and guide you inside. But overall it was a good experience

Great trip

Seeing Versailles was great and viator on time. Our driver Emil was wonderful we were in a traffic jam and he ask police to go another way home and it helped.

My family enjoyed this visit, for myself, I don't think this experience was for me as I am not into Museums & old buildings.

Terrible experience

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the behavior of one of the employees, Nathalie, during our return from the Versailles half day tour earlier today. I would like to file a formal complaint against her for her unprofessional and disrespectful treatment of my family and me. Our morning tour guide explicitly informed us, as well as wrote on our tickets, that our meeting point for the return bus was at 5:50pm. We made sure to triple-check this time with our guide, as punctuality is important to us. We showed up at the meeting point on time and took the bus. However, shortly after the bus departed, a woman named Nathalie, who appeared to be another tour guide, boarded the bus and publicly accused us of being on the wrong bus. She claimed that our group was supposed to have taken the 2:30pm bus, not the one we were on. Nathalie proceeded to berate us over the bus microphone in front of all the passengers, calling us "troublemakers" and speaking in a hostile and condescending tone. I felt the need to defend my family, especially in front of my children, and I had a loud conversation with her. This incident left us feeling upset and humiliated. I want to clarify that we followed the instructions of our morning guide and were confident that we were on the correct bus. We have never experienced such an unpleasant encounter on any of our previous tours. I would appreciate it if you could investigate this matter thoroughly and ensure that such an incident does not happen to any other tourists in the future. It would also be reassuring if you could provide us with an explanation of this incident and let us know what actions will be taken against the employee involved. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

Amazing Versailles

Seeing the palace was amazing and the gardens took my breath away! My husband and I had a great time!!

Versailles

Sad to write a poor review on such a magnificent site! It is truly a must see As far as our experience with the group… that is where the 2 stars come This was our first visit to Versailles. There was no explanation as to how to use the audio … we were having trouble downloading … and it was up to us to figure it out… very frustrating. We were given a time to meet the bus for the the return trip back… when we arrived back to the meeting spot at the correct time the bus was driving away without us… there were several other groups that missed the bus too. After waiting in the hot sun for a resolution we were told to wait 3 hours for when the next tour would head back or take the metro. We opted for a cab. Which ended up costing us $72 Euro

Guide lost control of the group; no wifi

Worst Viator experience yet. Paris City Vision lost control of the group at the entrance. Didn’t know which line would be expedited. Then it wasn’t clear of we had audio guides with headsets. The download of the app and listening through iPhone didn’t work because they data reception in the rural area was bad and Versailles doesn’t have WIFI, so we wondered around aimlessly. Still mind blowing place, but experience could have been way better guided.

It was convenient having...

It was convenient having the transportation to and from Versailles but we were not provided the audio guides as stated in the booking. Also confusing getting back into the palace after visiting the gardens.

Disappointed

Disappointed! Disappointed is an understatement! There is such a wonderful place to explore with a lot of history, and we were given no information and no time to actually explore. Our ““ tour did not even show us the entry gate and left half the people behind from the bus. If you want to do Versailles, make sure you have plenty of hours to explore the whole thing!

Good to get to Versailles, download audio app before

The hall of mirrors and the gardens were the best parts of Versailles. We would have maybe liked a little more time to explore before the bus went back to Paris. It would also be nice to have more instructions about downloading the audio app and bringing headphones, because it took a lot of phone data and we didn’t end up listening to things.

Not what it seems

Like others Tourist says: Skip the tour- do it yourself, because you do it yourself any way. It is not a preference to the entrance, the Guide is a Aplication on your Phone, and in the Bus the Guide only spoke english. We were wondering why on the reservation was asked WICH LANGUAGEyou choose: We said SPANISH. Nothing. If you do yourself it will be cheaper and you will have more time to visit this amazing place..

Meh Versailles tour

I previously did a Fat Tire Bike Tour to Versailles and it was epic! We needed an expedited tour so this 1/2 day bus tour seemed to fit the bill. While the transportation was satisfactory, the audio tours at Versailles are poor. They lack any sort of contextual historical or cultural background. Versailles is such a rich destination that to properly visit, you should hire a private tour guide. Plus, 2-1/2 hours is not long enough to cover the main attractions at Versailles.

Something you have to see

I am a travel agent and my group really enjoyed this tour. My only issue with this is the process. There has got to be a better way.

Good experience

It was a good experience despite being harassed for carrying a tripod as I wanted to take pictures as I was travelling solo. Other than that it was a great time!

The crowds are too overwhelming

I was so looking forward to this but like most tourist attractions in Paris, 80% of your time will be spent waiting in line. There were times in the castle where you’re shoulder to shoulder at a complete stand still waiting to get into the next room. It was very overwhelming for many of us there and it feels like a safety hazard. There are not many bathrooms, the wait was 20-30mins to use the toilet. The wait to buy lunch at Angelina was 45mins, which meant we ended up having 7mins to see the gardens before our bus left. I would recommend bringing a sandwich in your bag, getting food here is a nightmare. The bus ride was very useful and reliable. The palace & gardens are beautiful but it’s a logistical nightmare. I wouldn’t go again.

Versailles worth a whole day

Everything went well, but a bit more instruction on how to navigate the huge Versailles would have helped maximize the limited time.

Not what we expected from descriptions

While the visit to Versailles was nice the description for this activity is deceiving. Your audio guide is just the app in your phone and if you have children or didn’t bring earphones it’s hard to use. That fact is buried deep in the description. I had to pay $25 extra dollars for the audio guides for my family of 4 once inside the palace.

Dissppointing

Sebastian was our Tour Guide. We arrived, he told us to be at the meeting area at 2:50 pm for our return ride after the tour. My family of 4 arrived at 2:40 at the correct location and nothing. No Sebastian, no bus, nothing. At 3:05 we talked to another Tour Guide with same co. Who tried to squeeze us onto another bus but they only had 1 seat. She frantically was calling to help. Finally at 3:20 a bus came and took us back - we were the only people on the bus. Thank’s to her efforts - but having used your co. On our prev. Trip to Paris, sadly I will not use or recommend it again. 2 Not great experiences.

Disappointing & frustrating tour

We thought there was an audio included. Only an app which didn't work. We then rented audios from Versailles for the self guided tour. The palace was poorly marked and it was difficult to find anyone to answer our questions. We were very disappointed.

Just a bus ride with tickets to Versaille

Bus ride commentary was in Spanish only eventhough the speaker knows English. This was not a Spanish only tour. Did not say anything at the end of the tour...just dropped off. Not even a thank you or anything.

Disappointed in the tour. No guide provided. App did not work. No one told us we need ear phones. The bus was over an hour late to pick us up at the meeting point. Guide did not give us instructions in English unless we asked.

Very Disappointing!

Terrible experience. Would not use Paris City Vision again. Our tour guide abandoned us. We were told the meeting point and the time for the return trip to Paris, but there was no guide and no bus. There was no communication from the company. Phone calls to help desk were unanswered. We were wondering if we would have to Uber back. Finally, 1 hour and 15 mins later, a bus arrives. Again, no communications from the company. I will not book another trip with Paris City Vision.

Not worth it!!!

The tour cost $95 and basically what you got was a bus ride to the property and back ( say $15 or so) and a ticket that cost $27. They then wanted you to download an app to get commentary while you tour the property. There are plenty of free apps you could use instead or you can pay $5 for the audio guide at the property. Absolutely not worth the money! Instead, just buy a ticket online and arrange your own transportation.

Waste of money for what we received.

I was very disappointed with this tour. The description doesn’t even include what we had. We left in a bus at 8:30 and arrived in line at 8:55. Only to discover that our tickets didn’t allow us to enter until 9:30am. Pick up was 11:55. The audio was hours worth of info that didn’t really line up with the 2.5 hours we had to explore. So it wasn’t easy to use. Lunch at Angelina’s was amazing. The food was so good. Viator describes the ride back to include passing the Grand Canal and the Arc de Triumph. I guess it was my fault for assuming our tour guides would point these things out. But nothing was pointed out on the ride back. I looked for them but not sure we even took the route to pass these things. Essentially we paid for a very expensive bus ride to Versailles. I could have bought tickets and rode an Uber for so much cheaper.

Versailles is a must do

Great way to experience Versailles in a short amount of time. Transportation was very nice for the 30 minute ride. There is so much to see at the chateau and gardens. We didn’t have the headphones to our smart phones with us so we were unable to receive the audio portion of these tickets but it was still a wonderful opportunity to experience this amazing landmark.

Versaillies was one of...

Versaillies was one of the places I was most looking forward to visiting. I was very disappointing. There were an indescribably large amount of crowds, shoulder to shoulder, pushing and shoving into the two halls that are available to see. They had closed the apartments of the dauphin, the court madams, and the other rooms. The only three things to see where the kings chambers, queen's chambers, the hall of mirrors, and the chapel. All the whole world was crammed in to see very few open parts of the castle that are supposed to be open for viewing. I would alternatively recommend the tours of castles around the area. We saw three and they were far more amazing and enjoyable and beautiful than Versailles.

Cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances due to a strike in paris. And the palace of versailles was closed. As were many oc the museums and sight seeing places due to the strike.my partner and I was very disappointed but they said they would refund our money back 3-5 working days. We plan to go at another time. We did make the best of our day and went sightseeing on foot around the city and took lots of photography instead in the end we still had a great time in paris. We have given five stars as we know the palace of versailles is a beautiful historic place and it's a definite must see at some point. Thank you to the tour guide for letting us know it could not be helped at this time.

Less than expected

Visit Time is short and not enough to enjoy all the interesting parts of the castle. We were there on a rainy day, we could barely see the portraits in the rooms and no lights were on until only half of the visit. Will need to visit again to meet my original ambition from this trip.

Easy Way To See Versailles

We had a great time visiting the palace! We learned all about the history and the transportation made everything simple!

Versailles is a must see and doing it as a tour makes the day easier to manage. Having a transfer to Versailles to/from as well was great.

Saturday at Versailles

Pickup in Paris and the drive to Versailles was smooth. Finding the bus for return to Paris was slightly chaotic especially if you’re an inexperienced traveler. It needs a bit more organization. The palace and gardens were amazing.

Meh

If you’re looking for transportation to and from Versailles this might get you there and back if you’re able to find the right bus, however expect nothing else including the noted “audio tour” which you have to supply yourself on your phone. It would have been SUPER HELPFUL to let us know what we needed to download beforehand as getting the app once there was next to impossible for half our group. Expect NO information about Versailles on the way there and expect a pile of chaos from the operators who while present on the bus are not present in any other way.

Bad communication

I felt a bit mislead. We received no audio tour. What we were given was a QR code to scan which I couldn’t do without cell service and I’m from the US. So my kids had no clue what was going on. We also reached out 2 times two days before regarding my injury and the need for a wheelchair. We showed up and it was ok, but not receiving a response caused me unneeded stress in an already bad situation. I felt this tour was outrageously overpriced especially given that my kids were given 2 free tickets into Versailles. So well over $200 for transportation is ridiculous.

Do not recommend.

Very poor - basically a bus ride. No instructions on how to enter. We ended up Ubering home because the experience was so frustrating.

First time to Versailles

This was a great way to get a trip to Versailles in quickly. Be sure to download the app and bring headphones for your phone for the audio tour. The palace and gardens did not disappoint.

Do not pick this

The guides where rude. Only gave us 3 hours because they were late. Want my money back!!! The bus was uncomfortable and the guides coming back were awfully rude to everyone.

Opulent Versailles

Versailles was amazing. So much history. It was a very busy day there as it was sold out but we moved through the rooms at our pace.

Save your money.

Save your money and take an Uber instead. There was no guide for this tour. It was just a bus dropping us off.
