Ok cruise of Paris

It was a OK cruise. Could barely ever hear the guide on the boat - the audio was poor. He was inexperienced and it showed in the way he attempted to describe sites as we sailed by. The boat itself was ok too and had to go the the bar to get the champagne we ordered. There were no announcements to do this. If you are on the top - its a bit of a nuisance to come down to get it. Staying below worked out for us - and we were comfortable.

Hard to hear narrator

It was difficult to hear the narrator at the back of the boat. I would probably arrive earlier to get a seat at the top of the boat

A scenic tour on the Seine

This was a great way to see Paris from a different viewpoint. We got to see lots of historic landmarks and the commentary, provided in both French and English was very informative and we learned a lot

Beautiful day on the Seine

Great tour! A lot less crowded than other boats we saw going by. Seeing Paris by boat is a great overview for any visitor and also helps to compress what would take a long time into only an hour. The guide was informative and though she did have a French accent it wasn’t too heavy.

It’s not guided but it’s still a good experience

I surprised my partner with this on his fortieth birthday. We were sat on a table for 2 in the window which was a perfect place to be. The service is slick and very efficient, to the point that we couldn’t help thinking that we were part of a mass production line - get them on, feed them quick, get them off! There wasn’t anything ‘guided’ about the cruise as there wasn’t any commentary, audio, or guide. The entertainment was very good. Toilets clean and pleasant. Staff friendly and helpful. Kir Royale and wine good. Food was clearly mass catering but still very nice. The views are spectacular as expected- particularly the Eiffel Tower and the Islands. Recommend the experience for a special occasion

Great way to experience history of Paris

Very informative about the history of Paris and allowed us to see a lot in the short time we were in the city.

Nice way to see Paris

There’s a bunch of boat tours you can do, but this one wasn’t bad. They had information from French to English. Was able to get some good information about the history of a lot of the downtown areas. no complaints and definitely do if you’ve never been to Paris and visiting

Worst River boat cruise ever!

Do not take this cruise! Smallest, saddest boat on the river. Terrible customer service. There was only 1 guy at the bar so it took forever to get drinks and food (cold crepes). By the time I got back to my seat, I missed most of the tour. Couldn’t understand the tour guide. It looked so promising, very disappointing. Don’t waste your money and time on this!!!

Delighted

Wonderful tour, and well worth the price. Tour Director shares Parisian facts in both French and English. Just a delightful hour!

Excellent tour guide

The tour guide was very informative while also kind and funny in both languages. She was very helpful in our understanding of the history and culture.

Not worth the expense

It was very hard to hear or understand what the guide was saying. We paid for the sandwhich option and they did not offer us any food so we asked as we were getting off the boat and they told us to go stand in a long line across the street and we could get a sandwhich. Very bad communication.

Perfect way to see Paris

Taking a cruise on the Seine was the perfect way to view the city landmarks! We loved the commentary and took great pics!

Wouldn’t recommend

When we tried boarding the employee told us we were at the wrong place and to go to the ticket office. We were in fact, in the correct place. Bought the snack and champagne option and they told us we don’t get snacks. We sat inside due to the outside being full, and could hardly see. Guide frequently referred to buildings on the left and since we were on the right, we could hardly see. Not a great experience

Enjoyable

The day was rainy however it didn't take away from us seeing parts of Paris. The company was very professional . The experience was fun.

Totally unprofessional guiding 👎

The guide was absolutely unprofessional. The company that provides this tour “Vedettes tours/cruise” is unprofessional too. The tour says that guiding in English are one of two main languages that are available-which made me choose it cause I wanted to get the guiding informative. As It showed: the girl that was a guide- talked 90% of time in French and only added som short phases in English maybe 5-6 times during the whole hour of tour. She also mixed English with French which made her English hard to understand. I realize now that I could choose some cheaper tour instead for the same outcome. I did not get any reasonable information about the city as I expected. Vary badly done. If you are to book this tour because of guiding in English- skip it. It doesn’t worth your money.

A definite must do in Paris

Our Paris river trip was absolutely fantastic. We chose the snack package which came with a glass of champagne and really enjoyed the time on the river. The staff was friendly and courteous, and very knowledgeable about the surroundings.

Bad tour

Could not hear the tour guide at all and majority of it was in French. The snack option was a rip off. They just expected us to figure it out and the selection was awful.

Great value

This a fantastic way of getting an overview of central Paris. You get to see many of the highlights with brief but informative explanations. Great value and enjoyable cruise.

Great value boat trip

Good price for the tour. It was my wife's 60th birthday, so with production of her passport she had a free ride! I only paid €20. Sunny day so sat under the canopy on on side. Lots to see. Commentary was too quiet so had to make do with recognising things or googling them.

Don't be insane and miss this tour!

Lovely boat trip down the seine - good views even with the rain. The guide did an excellent job maintaining his talk while dealing with rain. Service on board was very good.

Couldn't hear all the commentary so missed a few key moments. Plenty of seats and friendly staff. Now the review wants me to leave more. I don't have anything else to say.

Fair for what you pay.

The cruise was fine for what you paid (it is very reasonable - fifty quid for three passengers, Inc a cookie and a drink). You can't hear a word of the tour guide, and the man that was managing the ground staff was really quite rude and disdainful towards passengers. Paris is beautiful though and you can't beat seeing it from a boat, and the crew on the boat were really lovely.

The views were wonderful, however, the guide spoke broken English and the narrative was unintelligible. The boat ride was nice but couldn’t understand any narrative.

Great cruise for great money

Such a great way to see the city of Paris! Also co pant was very helpful when I could not find mine mobile tickets and helped me navigate to still get on! Such a helpful group of people! Also cruise was amazing and your guide was great!! Would recommend!

Nice experience

Nice short trip on the river to see some of the sites in Paris. The glass of champagne was a nice touch.

Couldn’t Understand the Live Guide

We took the May 28, 2024 one hour river tour at 8:45pm. We were able to get a seat on the upper deck which was nice. Unfortunately, the woman guide providing the live narration in French and English was extremely difficult to understand. The three of us were trying to understand the English version of what she was saying. But, she spoke so fast we were only able to understand maybe 25%. During the tour someone asked her a question about the location of something she was describing and her response was that she didn’t know but thought was in a direction that she pointed to. Since the boats are similar and usually take the same route, try another river tour operator. Maybe other operators place more emphasis on the understandability of their guides.

Food option is a scam

Skip this. I’ve done many tours on Viator including 1 hour river tours and this was very disappointing. First it’s a large ferry and not enough seats for everyone. Second and the most annoying is there are no cheese and charcuterie on the boat despite paying for it! I did get my glass of champagne I paid for but no food. I read a few reviews that said this and I should have listened. Essentially the food option is a scam and now I’m trying to get reimbursed. Also the tour itself is just meh. I’d recommend many of the other walking and food tours instead.

The scenery and the tourist guide. She was excellent. In rainy weather it’s uncomfortable since there is no space protected. Friendly staff

Cruising the Seine ~

The staff were very personable ~ spoke in both English and French ~ pointed out all the historical sites as seen from the river and some information regarding the upcoming Olympics 2024. It was a rainy overcast day but still enjoyable ~

Amazing experience

Amazing cruise, excellent tour guide who provided details of the buildings and events on the river. We enjoyed it thoroughly. One of the best guides on the boat in terms of accent to understand

The Boat did not have audio downstairs and there were no free snacks as mentioned on the tour ticket.

The speakers on the boat were either cutting out or not loud enough to hear what the guide was telling us.

A river trip on the Seine is very worthwhile....

We were a family of 8, traveling from the USA for a 2 week vacation, that included a 9 day cruise. Alas, we did not have as much time as we would have liked I'm pleased that we pre-booked our Seine cruise. Unfortunately, it rained that day and there were a few school groups on the boat that resulted in crowding and difficulty finding seats. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the cruise and the staff who did their best, given the hectic conditions. I would recommend that regular passengers not be booked with large school groups.

A wonderful river cruise in the morning with fresh breeze and seeing the beautiful of Paris from the river toward to both river bank.

Lost time

there wasn't much to see from the ship, lost time, we didn't get the pancake we paid for, it was supposedly sold out, although we saw about 5 on the ship, the bar staff told the woman who had bought a champagne tasting that there was no champagne included in the price, so let her buy it

Great way to spend your first day in Paris

So glad we did this our first day to introduce us to Paris. Clean bathrooms and if you like crepes / pancakes, I suggest you get /they were delicious!! Beautiful cruise, clean, and bathrooms were wonderful

Learning and enjoying Paris

Whenever I am given knowledge about the subjects I am looking at I enjoy the experience much more. What I did not enjoy was the tour guide was monotone, she dragged her voice and made you become distracted.

So many beautiful sites of Paris to see, and the boat was comfortable and full but not crowded. Our narrator/guide was very knowledgeable and informative and spoke in both English and French. He also had a good sense of humor to mix in. Would recommend this for anyone traveling to Paris!

Overall good experience.

The cruise was very enjoyable. It was the perfect amount of time to see the city from the water. The boat was newer as well which made if more comfortable. The guide was very knowledge as well.

It was a wonderful experience to ride through the marvellous architecture of Paris. The guide Ellis was explaining everything so passionately.

A Great Way To See The City

We queued and purchased tickets for the evening cruise with music and a glass of Champagne at £27 a head. Both ticket and then boarding queues were about 30 minutes in all and we were pretty much first on the boat, so got a good seat. The water levels were too high to get to the Notre-Dame so the boat was turning back before then. It did add the small Statue of Liberty a few bridges past the Eiffel Tower to compensate, but all in all you see the majority of the landmarks. There's no commentary on this cruise but there's a bar and the weather was great, turning to dusk as we got back to the tower to see it all lit up. Definitely a must do.

Get there early, even if you have a reservation

The boat trip itself was what I expected. Nice views from the river and someone pointing out the major sites in both English and French with some fun facts. What was really disappointing was the wait to get on the boat. We bought tickets for the 4:30pm cruise. We got there between 4:10 and 4:15 and found a huge line. There was no one directing people to the front of the line if you had tickets for the 4:30 and no obvious waiting place organized by time purchased. The line started moving forward so we figured we were in the right place, but then, the 4:30 boat pulled away with us still in line. We continued waiting thinking they would immediately start loading the next boat, but they did not. I finally went to the guy at the front and told him we had tickets to the 4:30 and he said, "C'est pas grave./No big deal. You can take the next one." Maybe no big deal to him, but that was another 30 minutes for us to stand in the sun with our two kids and wait. I asked him why they didn't let people with tickets for a certain time come to the front and he said, "Ah, we just have too many people waiting," which didn't make any sense to me at all. What's the point of buying tickets for a certain time if they're not going to respect it? The same thing happened when we went to tour the PSG stadium, so I guess if you visit Paris and have tickets reserved for a tour at a specific time, you still need to get there 30-minutes or more in advance, which pretty much defeats the purpose of buying ahead.

Not above average

It was a beautiful day but we had to stay enclosed. Or be up in the sun so it might have been better. The covered breezy area was taken up by a private party. Most of the commentary is in French even though there did not appear to be many French people on the tour at all. Other than that, it was okay.

Fun Ride with a professional tour guide!

The guid was speaking clearly and explain everything. It was a fun tour! It was exactly 50 minutes and we enjoyed it.

Day time versus night

This tour has great views along the river. We were actually happy we went more in the daylight so we could see more of the detail in the architecture. 9

Easy to use, not overcrowded and commentary was very good. An hour long and waited by the Eiffel Tower for pictures.
