Fun way to see the neighborhood

We had a great tour with Louis. He was so knowledgeable! We were staying in the neighborhood and did the tour on the first day. It was the perfect way to see the neighborhood and beat jet lag. Went to several cute shops where we sampled chocolate, desserts, olive oil and jams.

Guide lacked enthusiasm for subject

This tour consisted in walking in circles-very slowly-for some okay, but not exceptional chocolate. The guide lacked enthusiasm and food knowledge

Pastries, chocolate and history! We loved it all

Our tour guide, Dorine, was amazing! She was very knowledgeable and very exciting. We loved that she took us to see all corners of the 6th Arrondissement, including a spice and jam shop. The chocolate and pastries were just so delicious and there was a wide range of different pastries to try. Dorine had an origin story/explanation for each pastry/chocolate/sample we tried to help us understand and appreciate it all. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone!

Delicious pasteries!

Catherine was absolutely marvelous! The local, historical, and anecdotal knowledge she shared was so interesting and much appreciated! The chocolate and macarons and ice cream were tres tres manifique!! Would highly recommend!!!

Divine Experience

This was a great tour. My guide was Hugo and he was fantastic. I lost track of how many little shops we stopped at, but they were all divine. And there was plenty of variety to hold your interest. He also pointed out the history of the area. Highly recommend!

Yummy

Such a cool tour! Anthony was our guide and was amazing. He provided us with a great amount of interesting information related to Parisian history including the chocolates and other treats. Some of the things we tried on the tour were things I would’ve have tried elsewhere not because of their obscurity but because they seem like hidden gems.

Not worth the money

We booked our tour on a Sunday. Once we arrived, we were told most of the usual spots were closed since it was Sunday- very disappointing they even schedule tours that day knowing spots are closed. For the price, we did not receive a decent amount of goods and for the three hour tour there were no places to sit and enjoy the tastings when we did get them. I felt like this was mostly a sales pitch for local shops. They would provide samples and then allow time for us to browse. Our tour guide was friendly and informative. But for the cost of the tour- would not recommend.

Great tour!

Dorine was an amazing tour guide! We ate so many things that we didn’t need any more desserts for at least a month! Great tour!

The tastings were huge and amazing. I could not eat it all. The guide Dorine was knowledgeable and very friendly.

Delicious way to explore Paris

This walking tour was an excellent way to explore the Saint Germain neighborhood while also learning about (and sampling) some truly outstanding chocolates and pastries that we might never have come across otherwise. Our guide, Anthony, was friendly and informative, and we really enjoyed chatting with him about not just the delicious snacks but also the rich history of the area and France in general. One of our favorite stops was a beautiful shop selling grocery products from Provence, Maison Bremond 1830, but every stop was great. Overall a lovely way to spend an afternoon in Paris!

This tour was awesome! It wasn't just food tasting, it was a history lesson with details about Paris and it's many charms. Catherine was an exceptional guide, very knowledgeable, personable, and so much fun. She is top tier and added her own special touch. I highly recommend this food tour to travelers, it's worth every penny.

Good Tour - Prepare Accordingly

My tour guide, Margaux was fantastic. She shared information about the locations that was historical and culturally relevant. Be prepared for a lot of walking. The tour description says 2.5-3 hours but the tour itself was closer to 3 hours, this is a whole morning or afternoon event. I did not need to have lunch after having the morning tour. You should be prepared to also pay at the shops if you want to take chocolate with you. Finally, be sure to read the meeting place description information carefully. When I booked the tour there were two addresses listed, which caused confusion. The tour itself was worth it overall. I had such a good time.

Dorine was exceptional! Meet up place and time went smoothly and we got more than enough to eat on the tour- my husband wanted to buy extra food to take home at every place we stopped! The tour took us to areas we would have never found on our own and the variety of sweet treats was well thought out. Highly recommend as part of your Parisian adventure!

Sweet tour in Paris

This was my absolute favourite tour during our stay in Paris. It was very cold during our tour (not Anthony’s fault) so walking outside a challenge BUT learning about the history of Paris, the area, the chocolate and delicacies very interesting. Our guide, Anthony knew so much information it was so very interesting. The sweets we shared, the spreads (sweet and savoury) seemed to go on and on….i never realized Paris had such a sweet tooth (nor how delicious it all can be). Anthony took his time sharing so much information (even though it was cold he never rushed). I walked away after the tour a lot wiser to Paris history! I personally would take this tour over again.

Excellent tour

Disappointed

Tour guide did not show up. Unable to do the tour. Took a picture of the black door instructed to meet in front but no guide

Chocolate tour

This was a fun tour, however, there was no real consistent story as to why chocolate was important to France as history continued and there was no real reason why we went to the shops we did. The tour also awkwardly ended at a church which had nothing to do with chocolate. The places we went to were fine but nothing incredible.

Wonderful experience

This exceeded all expectations. We did tasting and got a tour with history from our awesome guide Anthony.

Will do this every trip to Paris

Loved this tour. We sampled more than I expected and it was all wonderful. Our guide, Anthony, was a local with lots of interesting information about the area we were in. Because we liked the area and stores we went back again and again

Anthony was a fantastic guide on this tasty and enjoyable walking tour of St. Germaine! He was informative, patient, professional and extremely helpful with his history lessons and culinary suggestions. My wife and I greatly enjoyed walking through these beautiful streets and tasting delicious chocolates and pastries. All the vendors were friendly and happy to see us. Anthony took his time with his explanations and was very thoughtful and kind to us all. This experience made our trip to Paris even more memorable! Merci to all!

Unbelievable Chocolates

The chocolates and pastries were superb. The tour was great however the “tutorials” were a bit long and wordy.

A must for a delicious experience.

Wonderful time

We had a wonderful time with Dorine. We especially enjoyed the food stops along the way. She had to improvise as two stops were closed, and it worked out great. Highly recommend Dorine and the Chocolate tour!

Great walking tour!

Anthony was a great guide! So knowledgeable about the shops and the history of the area around St. Germain des Pres.

Overpriced and mediocre tasting choices.

We booked a food tour and they gave us this tour (accidentally I assume). The guide was likable and knew a lot about the area. Had some interesting stories. The tour was of stores that are easy to find, some are chains that can be found elsewhere and even at the airport. there was little to no relationship with any of the vendors and we did not taste anything we couldn’t have tasted on our own. Some of the choices were confusing as well — I don’t think of olive oil as uniquely French for instance. I think you are far better off looking at google for sweets that you find interesting and, if you want to learn about the area, just take a separate guided tour. Very disappointing for us, especially on our anniversary. Outrageously expensive and a very poor value.

Amazing Tour

So much fun! From the start our tour guide was amazing and very knowledgeable of the history of the Saint Germain area we were walking through. We enjoyed everything from macaroons, pastries, chocolate moose to the oil and vinegar tasting and yes, Ketchup tasting as well. What unique flavors. We even brought some Apricot balsamic back to the states with us. We would recommend this tour to everyone.

We had a great wet time...

We had a great wet time on this tour. We enjoyed the chocolate and purchased some from one of the vendor stops. My granddaughter enjoyed the Parisian cold chocolate drink the most. We have experienced many tours in our years of traveling and this was on the upper end of good. Thanks for the memories! Our granddaughter had a good experience.

Get your Chocolate on

Come on its a Chocolate tour. Family totally loved this tour and got to sample some of the finest chocolate in the world. Later that week we went back to one of the chocolate shops and bought more chocolate for us to take home.

Definite Must Do!

We toured with Pierre Louis and had a wonderful time. Plenty of interesting history thrown in with an almost obscene amount of chocolate and sweets. Family of four with 13- and 17-year-old kids. Everyone enjoyed!

Well worth your time

Our group of 4 visited from the US, and had a wonderful experience. Our guide, Artur was very informative and helpful (he gave excellent food suggestions for us to try after the tour.) The food we sampled along the tour was excellent, and we were able to buy additional items if we so chose. The walking pace was excellent, not too fast for those who prefer a more leisurely stroll. I would highly recommend this for foodies and for anyone who want to experience a taste of Paris.

Drunk on Chocolate

Our guide gave us a great overview of French history along with the history of the chocolate industry. Amazingly detailed explanations and a good experience.

Great Experience even with young kids

Nick was a great guide and very knowledgeable. He brought us to some amazing places and was very interactive with everyone on the tour, including my 5 and 7 year old kids. I would highly recommend this tour. It gives you a good sense of this area of Paris.

Perfect for (Dark) Chocolate Lovers with a History lesson added

We had a great time on this trip. You learn about a little bit about the history of France and chocolate (and caramel) and you get to taste some amazing chocolate. Personally, I am not a chocolate lover but I was able to recognize that what I was sampling was exceptional quality chocolate. One caveat - France is a dark chocolate country and rarely focuses on milk chocolate.

Oh so many chocolates!

A most enjoyable tour and OH SO MANY CHOCOLATES!! My 8 year old daughter and I did this tour with Hugo and it was fantastic. We couldn’t exactly locate where we were supposed to meet and he called us to help us find the group. He was wonderful, attentive and the chocolates and stories were wonderful. Who knew Marie Antoinette had chocolates made to soothe her headaches!!! Amazing! Would recommend 100%- just wear comfortable walking shoes because you do a lot of it!

Delightful Afternoon!

Hugo, our guide, was knowledgeable not only about chocolates, but gave us lots of information about Paris. And he was funny! Not only did we sample many delicious chocolates, but we sampled tasty spreads, macarons and breads. We left with full bellies and loads of fun facts about Paris and the history of chocolate. A great walking tour. Our guide was Achiles, very informative and even gave instructions on how to eat these many sweet delacacies.Would recommend it, a great way to spend the afternnon dining on sweets. Only thing we missed was there was no bottled water or afternoon tea as stated in the brochure.
