Very good tour, guide was knowledgeable. Really enjoyed St. Chappelle. Weather was also nice. Not too big of a group.

Saeed saved the day!

I give this tour four stars instead of five only because initially, our tour guide did not show for the tour. Luckily, there was a guide in training that gave us a phenomenal tour! Saeed was knowledgable and distilled Paris and French history masterfully. He was able to get our Sainte-Chapelle tickets from the tour company. And thankfully so. Sainte-Chapelle is a must see. Even though Notre Dame was still being repaired from the fire, it is a must see also. Thank you Saeed for saving the day!

Disappointed with lack of communication

Our guide never showed up. We have been saving a long time for this trip and disappointed when the guide was a no show. Luckily Saeed was there as a training opportunity and provided us with some history of the island and st chapelle.

Nice little tour

Kateryna was a wonderful tour guide. Very informative. The tour is a nice walk around the area and concludes with admission into Sainte Chapelle.

Excellent tour of Isle de ls Cite

Excellent, skilled guide, well versed in French history. Access to Saint Chapelle, breathtaking church.

The crown jewel of our trip to Paris!

This was far and away our favorite tour while in Paris. Saint Chapelle is absolutely stunning, but it was Cynthia our guide who really made the experience even more exceptional. Cynthia was kind, informative, and engaging and just an all around very nice person. We learned so much and she really went above and beyond to share her knowledge about St Chapelle and the region in general. When we go back to Paris, we will not hesitate to reach out to Cynthia about guiding us through Paris again. She is the best!

This is my last full day in Paris, and I couldn’t get a ticket to Saint Chapelle until I checked “Get your Guide”

Daniel was very warm and personable, full of interesting facts; he is an entertaining storyteller. I’m glad I grabbed this tour, skip the line and be guided by a local. “Une bonne idèe!” Just as we arrived at the monument, the sun shone to radiate through the beautiful stained glass within. “Tres jolie!”

Great experience

Funny and engaging . Very informative tour. You can ask the guide anything and he happily answers. Loved the extra tips and the part wehere we didn’t have to wait at the line for hours to get inside the chapelle

Isle of notre dame

very little info and very few sites

We expected to see much more of the city in this tour, esp. that in their website they write that this tour also goes to the latin quarter. However, our tour was just a little over an hour, endedindeed at the Saint Chapelle (where we got entrance ticket but no guide) and left us feeling both disappointed and disrespected. We ended up taking an additional tour in the afternoon to the latin quarter with Sandyman New Europe company, which was great and also much better priced. I would strongly advice to take the 3-hour free tour of Sandyman New Europe company instead of the city wonder over priced and underwhelming 1-plus-hour tour of Notre Dame Island.

Leye was so knowledgeable and offered a great history lesson. The skip the line for the Chappell was a good way to avoid standing in the rain

Brilliant tour with a fantastic guide

Me and my wife took this tour in October. Our tour guide called john was absolutely fantastic! He was very knowledgeable, friendly and was always willing to answer all of the questions. Even tho the notre dame cathedral was damaged by fire and could not enter it did not spoil this tour as there was loads to see. The Sainte-Chapelle is a must see for everyone. Jim & tash uk

Clueless Guide

The guide was a young lady (from India) who had spent 8 whole months in Paris. She was rather clueless on the history of the place. Very disappointing. City Wonders was the local tour operator.

Fun day even in the heat

It was our first tour of the trip and we picked Notre-Dame. Turns out it was one of the hottest day in a long time for France so we were all dreading the heat. Michelle was our guide and she was fantastic. She kept it personal and made sure to keep us in the shade as much as possible (thank you Michelle!!!). Her knowledge of the history was great and she spaced the information and the walking well. Her personal take on the evening of Notre-Dame burning gave the tour a personal aspect. Thanks again Michelle from four grateful Texas/Oklahoma ladies. 😊

Great history and view of Ile de la Cite

Michelle gave us a great history of the bridges and key buildings of the Ile de la Cite, along with general French history. Her English is excellent and she is extremely personable. Because we were a very small group, we were able to skip the microphones and just stop in shady spots and chat. She was very knowledgeable in answering questions. She was also able to give us a very personal account of the fire at Notre Dame as she lives nearby and got evacuated. Saint Chapelle is the most beautiful church I have ever visited anywhere.

Best tour guide.

Michelle was fantastic. She speaks English fluently as Canadian born and fills you with information from the moment we met . We highly recommend her for any of your Paris tour needs.

Wonderful tour

We were so lucky, my husband and I were the only two on the tour! Maybe because it was frigid and because of the yellow jacket demonstration. But even if we weren’t the only two, there was a tour director from the company to meet us at our spot, just to make sure our tour guide was able to find us, and in case there was a big group he would give all of us audio buds, so bigger tours would work too. Very professional. John our tour guide was awesome! He had studied philosophy before going back to school to be an official tour guide. He had such a wonderful knowledge of the history of the places, as well as the overall history of Paris- we asked him lots of questions, and he was able to weave the answers into the story arc, it was incredible. Shows how deep his knowledge is. He was very passionate and could tell he truly enjoyed his job. He brought extra pictures and even made some sketches himself to help us visualize the things he was talking about.

excellent guide, rich history and interesting facts

Our tour guide was Davor, and he was really knowledgeable and interactive. He kept everyone engaged and gave us a great learning experience. He is really passionate in what he does and ensures that everyone enjoyed the tour. The only small issue was that there was little time left to explore Sainte Chapelle as it was the last stop we could only stay for about 30 mins before it closed. nonetheless, the tour guide definitely made up for it and told us many interesting facts about Sainte Chapelle as we walked along Ile de la Cite. Highly recommended!

My favorite activity in Paris

City Wonders is an excellent tour company. Our guide Helen was knowledgeable and personable. She really gave an idea of what it is to live in Paris, to be a Parisian, and how the history of these islands and the Pont Neuf plays into that. We skipped the line so only waited for a fraction of the time it would otherwise have taken to get into Notre Dame. A couple of men tried to cut ahead of in line, or sneak in with our tour group and Helen dealt with them courteously yet firmly. I would highly recommend seeing Notre Dame in this way as you get so much more out of your tour than just wandering through on your own.

Outstanding

We went on this tour yesterday. It was amazing. Our tour guide was Charlie he was exceptional. He brought the history of Paris to life in such an exciting & engaging way- we were smiling & laughing throughout & would have happily listened all day!! Such a fantastic presentation meant that the facts we learnt are now embedded to enjoy & share time & again. Goes without saying that this trip was well worth the fee & I highly recommend Some Practicalities: The company ask you arrive 15 minutes early & I would recommend this as the tour leaves promptly The walking is a gentle pace & is flat There is a very narrow staircase at Sainte Chapelle I don’t think you can request a guide but if this company focuses on expert knowledge, friendliness & wit as demonstrated by Charlie then I think you’re in safe hands with any of their guides I can’t wait to do another tour with this company!!

Fantastic tour lead by Charlie

My wife and I booked the 9:30 AM Notre Dame and island tour. We had Charlie as our tour guide and we couldn’t be luckier. Charlie has a fantastic understanding of the history behind every building and a great sense of humor. Highly recommend this tour - with Charlie.

<p>THIS TOUR IS A SCAM. DO NOT BOOK! When we arrived at the tour, we were told Notre Dame was closed due to a religious ceremony and that Sainte Chappelle was closed until 4:00. THESE TURNED OUT TO BE LIES! We were NOT given a tour of the old city either.</p>

A Brit in love with Paris makes the best guide

Only a young, passionate student of French history and art could bring the appropriate level of energy and context to these amazing buildings - bringing life to these glorious monuments of history - Charlie was the best and we enjoyed every minute of the tour. When a person waits a lifetime to see Notre Dame and St. Chapelle, only a guide as good as Charlie can do justice to the dream.

<p>Davor was an extremely informed guide. He was able to bring in personalities of history and make us feel the past. He made Paris even more memorable. The city is amazing and knowing more about the past was incredible. Notre Dame was a moving experience and Sainte Chapelle more gorgeous than you can imagine. Both will stay with us for life. The cost of the tour is well worth it and I highly recommend City Wonders and Davor. Always love VIP and not standing in line!</p>

We were exceptionally pleased with the information provided, both historic and artistic style, as our guide was not only a student but a teacher as well. This was easily one of the best tours we participated in during our ten days stay in France. Meeting on the Pont Neuf, and walking along the Seine River, past the Hall of Justice where trials of those accused of crimes against the people of France during the French Revolution was fascinating. Our arrival to the grounds of Notre Dame Cathedral through the center front gate was awe inspiring. Avi drew our attention to the architectural features as well as the symbolism and reminded us of the time span involved in the construction of this landmark. We look forward to a return trip to France based on what we have seen, experienced and learned on this trip. Vive La France!</p>

I took several tours in Europe and...

<p>I took several tours in Europe and this was one of my least favorite. The guide makes or breaks the tour and Ruben just didn't cut it for me, unfortunately. We focused on many details that didn't interest me and didn't even go into the first building until an hour into the tour. 9 out of 15 people in our group left the tour midway through. We then stood outside of Sainte Chappelle for 30 min just talking while it was raining on us and we could have been inside enjoying the views. Also just FYI there is no skipping lines at Notre Dame.</p>

This was the worst tour I have every...

<p>This was the worst tour I have every been on. First we had a hard time finding the meeting location. The taxi driver or the police man we asked for directions also could not find the location. We found other travelers walking around looking as well and we ended up helping them find the location. We arrived a few minutes late but not before they left the meeting location. When we arrived the tour guide did not have enough headphones for us to hear her tour. I don't understand how this happened because we reserved and paid for this in advance. She then went on to say that it was too bad we were late. We weren't that late and we ultimately had reservations so the equipment should have been made available. She did not try to procure us any other equipment rather she just kept telling us we were late. When we got to Notre Dame and went inside we could not hear her at all and she said that's what you get for being late, So we left and did Notre Dame on our own but we missed Sainte Chapelle because we didn't have tickets. Which she would not give us. This is by far the worst tour I have ever been on and definitely would not recommend it or the tour guide.</p>
