Excellent Tour!

My family and I had a wonderful time at the Louvre with Lili! She is very personable, friendly and cheery. She is obviously very knowledgeable in art history and expertly escorted us through the museum. Lili even led our elderly father by the arm and spoke to him loudly and directly since he does not hear very well; which we really appreciated.

Alex provided excellent historical context while highlighting key masterpieces creating a very complete and satisfying experience. His lighthearted approach and sense of humour made the tour so enjoyable.

Worth every penny!!!!

Our guide was utterly amazing, she shared some great information and got us through the crowds with a breeze. The lockers provided and separate bathrooms were a nice surprise and a saving grace.

Great quick Louvre Tour with teenagers

It was what we were looking for. We got early at the time of opening, very few people at the Museum and Anna our tour guide took us straight to see the Mona Lisa. The. She took us to other parts of the museum to see other pieces. Perfect if you go with teenagers that have a short attention span.

Excellent private tour of the Louvre.

Vivian met us outside the Louvre and took us on an action packed tour of the Louvre museum. She captivated the interest of our entire family, including a 10 and 16 year old. We enjoyed how she shared in depth history of 8-10 art pieces, and did not overwhelm us with oodles of facts. Our children came away with detailed history about several pieces. A beautiful and thoughtful tour. I highly recommend it.

Disappointing

We spent a week in Paris and booked several tours. This tour was by far the most disappointing. The biggest issue was that although we were only two people, it was almost impossible to hear the guide. She did not have any kind of microphone set-up and she spoke very softly. The museum was packed and we had to lean in so closely to hear her that if she had Covid, we will have too. Although we booked through Viator the tour was conducted by LivTours. LivTours is large and experienced enough to know that in a museum as crowded as the Louvre a microphone system, regardless of the size of the group, is essential. We had a tour of Versailles with another company, again just two people, and the guide had a personal mike system that was great. Secondly, the guide kept us in just one section of the museum. It would have been much more interesting to see more of the museum. We went up and down in the same wing and really didn't get a sense of the scope what the museum has to offer. I realize it's impossible to see the whole of the Louvre in two hours but she could have done a much better job of showing us different areas and varying the objects more. We left feeling we didn't really see much at all. In the end, my sense was that the guide didn't really put much thought into the tour. She just did her standard thing and was out the door after two hours on the dot.

Louvre Semi Private Tour a must do in Paris

What an absolute joy it was to be part of this tour! Anna our guide was fabulous, very knowledgeable and gave us the time we needed to take in the major tour points. Anna led us directly to the Mona Lisa when the Louvre opened and she knows all the shortcuts. We had a great time on the tour then remained in the louvre afterwards to take it all in. Do this tour! Particularly if it’s your first time to the Louvre. You won’t regret it.

Don’t do it! They are crooks!!!!

These people are a bunch of thieves!!!! We spent over $600 dollars for this tour, we showed up 10mins late. We communicated with both the company and your coordinator. When we arrived, we could not find the coordinator because his phone was dead. We spoke to the company and they instructed us that he was waiting and where he would be. We found and the guy was out of it!!!! His phone was dead and he said the tour guides phone was dead as well. We called the company 5xs for assistance and they were rude and stated they had no way to get in contact with the tour guide. We requested a refund since they could not provide any information and they hung up one us. Now we are attempting to get a refund from Viator and they too are refusing to issue a refund. I am disgusted with this entire situation and will be disputing the charge on my card.

Passionate about antiquities

Hugo was friendly, informative and passionate about antiquities. We really enjoyed our tour of the Louvre.

Great tour

Our tour guide Dianita was wonderful. Very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. This small group tour is the only sensible way to visit the Louvre.

Private louvre tour with kids

Marion was FANTASTIC. She was so passionate and knowledgeable and this was my first guided tour but my third time to the louvre. Highly recommend the guide and having her be on this private group meant we really got to see what we wanted to focus on and get more than just a point and look tour but a truly historical and art history perspective behind the works. She was amazing!

Art History comes to LIFE!

Our guide (Avi) was phenomenal! The Louvre is an incredibly overwhelming task to peruse individually in a short period of time. This tour saved us from that impossible task! We were expertly navigated through the museum capturing the highlights of the vast collection of masterpieces within the walls of this enormous structure. From the ease of entry (avoiding the crazy lines we witnessed in the square when we met our guide/group) to the storytelling of the history of the grounds and artwork (especially with Avi's fantastic sense of humor), this tour was hands-down the highlight of our time in Paris!

Exceeded expectation

With our guide being knowledgeable he showed us the most important art in 2.5 hours, on our own it would have been impossible. Small group felt like one to one tour

Absolutely worth the trip

We had a wonderful guide who had a thorough knowledge of the history, building and life inside the magnificent palace.. She was pleasant and answered all questions. Definitely worth the trip out to Versailles.

Wonderful tour of the Louvre with Daniel

Highly recommend Liv Tours and Daniel in particular. He was engaging, knowledgeable and very friendly. Knew the best way into the Louvre and then chartered a path to all our main points of interest without any time spent in queues. We learned a lot during our tour and Daniel always had some color and background on whatever we were looking at.

Fun and informative tour with Daniel

Our tour was led by Daniel who was an excellent and experienced guide. He is super friendly and knowledgeable and happy to share his knowledge. He paced the tour well so we got to see the the majority of the Louvre in the time available. His knowledge was very practical and he went out of his way to share the extensive knowledge gained from his years of study in a very “down to earth” way so that we could really appreciate and learn a great deal about the Louvre building and artworks. The tour focussed on the highlights of the Louvre collection and he shared his deep knowledge of the key artworks, including their provenance, historical and political impact and their place in the world today. We booked a tour of maximum 6 people and there were only 4 of us in the tour - it felt very personal. Daniel was on time and he is fluent in multiple languages.

Awesome Tour!!!

Daniel was an incredible guide for our semi-private Lourve tour. He was extremely knowledgeable about the art and history and really knew his stuff. He was engaging (2 moms and two teens), and funny (like Irishmen often are). He made sure we we were taken care of and shepherded us around like a pro on an abnormally busy day at the Lourve. I would HIGHLY recommend Liv Tours and Daniel. Next time we are in Paris I want to hire him to be our personal tour guide for our entire trip!

Mobility Issues Warning

Other members of the group were late, causing us to miss regular entrance. We had to walk a ways to another entrance. I have bad knees so all the steps were too much. Unfortunately there are few elevators ond none close to steps. Tour guide was kind in escorting me to the Mona Lisa. Then we left the museum.

Berta made the Louvre new again

Blurta was one of best museum guides we have ever had. And we have hired guides at dozens of museums world-wide. We've been to Louvre many, many times. She is great. She is a recent Art History graduate and her knowledge and explanations made many pieces of art come alive and make sense in their context. Why was something painted or sculpted the way it is. She was soo much better than staring at a painting and saying: "gee thats nice". Soo much better than some guides who just recite memorized facts and figures about dates of painting and subject matter. YES of course she shows you the Mona Lisa, BUT she also explains why it's interesting and has some great background info. REALLY appreciated her effort. Literally would take a tour with her again

Great Tour Experience of the Louvre

If you’re going to the Louvre, I would definitely recommend a tour guide as the infrastructure is huge and there is so much to learn. Wonderful tour of the Louvre with Alex

A fantastic tour! This was our 2nd time using Liv Tours, our 1st was in Rome at the Vatican. We enjoyed the Vatican tour so much that we knew this would be good. Our guide at the Louvre was Alex. Alex was a wonderful guide who quickly adapted to our interests. He has a great sense of humor and we enjoyed learning from him. Alex has an incredibly deep understanding of the history and art at the Louvre. We look forward to using Liv Tours again in the future.

Best Louvre Tour out there— Anatole is your guy!

My sister and I had a semi-private tour of the Louvre and it was wonderful! Our guide, Anatole, was funny, knowledgeable, and very personable. The two other guests in our party were so enjoyable! We went on one of the busiest days of the year, and even though the Louvre was packed and there were lots of large tours all around, Anatole made us feel like we were the only group there. He was so knowledgeable and passionate about the art that we saw. He also was funny, but not in a forced or corny way, just in a fun way. I highly recommend this tour and Anatole as your guide! You will not be disappointed.

Excellent tour guide

My husband and I had the pleasure of spending several hours with the most knowledgeable and scholarly Sebastian. He brought each painting to life as he explained the history and nuances of the paintings and the painters. We have previously visited the Louvre, but we learned so much from Sebastian in the few hours of our tour. I highly recommend Sebastian and this tour.

Best way to visit the Louvre

We had a fantastic tour with our guide Laure! We had a tween and teen with varying interest levels and Laure was great at making it accessible to everyone while also sharing her impressive depth of knowledge. Everyone in our family loved the tour and appreciated that we saw a lot in a relatively short timeframe so we didn’t exhaust ourselves trying to tackle on our own.

A very nice, effective and comprehensive tour of the Louvre masterpieces

Vivianne took us on a perfect tour of the masterpieces of the Louvre. We slipped past the long lines of people with reserved(!) tickets and even though the Louvre was very busy, she managed to keep a fast but no too fast pace and to keep us all, even the teenagers, engaged for our two and some hours. A bit pricey, but otherwise perfect!

This is the way to see the Louvre!

Our guide Nancy was absolutely amazing! I’ve been to the Louvre before without a guide and although I was able to see the Mona Lisa, was very overwhelmed by it all. Nancy made this time around 100x more enjoyable. It was easy to locate her for the meet up spot. She was incredibly sweet, showed us the highlights of the museum (including the Mona Lisa), moved us around the crowded museum with ease, and taught us so many incredibly interesting facts about the history of the museum itself and the pieces she showed us. She was also hilarious and had us laughing the entire time. We could not stop talking about how cool Nancy was and the tour for the rest of our evening! Do not hesitate, this experience was worth every penny!!

Wonderful Louvre Tour

Daniel was fantastic! He effortlessly guided us through the massive Louvre — showing us all the popular exhibits and many wonderful ones that were off the beaten path. He kept our 12 year old engaged with questions and humor! He had deep knowledge of art, encouraging us to appreciate different pieces in new ways. Instructions for the meet up point were very easy and our tour guide Jo met us outside the Louvre, before the meeting time. She was very informative, lovely and had a great sense of humour. Really loved her passion for the museum and exhibits there. She was able to answer any questions we had regarding the exhibits and was very knowledgeable. A really great tour, I don’t think we would have appreciated the place if we hadn’t have been with a tour guide. Our guide Avi was fantastic. As an art history expert, he taught us all about the history of the Louvre, the history of the Mona Lisa and the "Three Ladies of the Louvre" - the Mona Lisa, Winged Victory and Venus de Milo. We could not have been happier!

Amazing Walk Through History!

Will was our guide when we visited the Louvre the week of Thanksgiving 2022 and he was fantastic! I could never imagine attempting to tour the Louvre on our own - what do you try to pack in on that visit and why? It's so much ground to cover and tens of thousands of pieces. But with this tour, Will deftly guided us to the most interesting, most significant pieces and explained their respective historic or artistic significance. Will is certainly a history enthusiast which nicely matches my interests, but not so much my young girls' interest. They were 8 and 13 and were mostly interested in where we could grab a snack. Probably not the best tour for kids that age unless they're extremely interest in history. But my wife and I enjoyed the tour and would have enjoyed it more had we invested in a babysitter that day! Kudos to Will, we highly recommend him - he was born to do this tour - and highly recommend the tour itself. Cheers!

A lovely afternoon at the Louvre

We did the afternoon Louvre tour with Sebastien. He was absolutely amazing. He really spent a lot of time with my son Flynn (6yo) teaching him and answering his many, many questions. We found the tour incredibly insightful and loved Sebastien’s flare for art. Will not hesitate to book again!

She was calm, collected through the crowds of the louvre and followed a beautiful narrative through her tour that will leave you feeling connected not only to the art you see but the stunning space. she had a vast knowledge of art history and parisian / french history and intertwined them. would highly recommend and hope to return to do other museum tours with her.

Wonderful First Louvre Visit

Marion was our tour guide and she was so excellent. She was so knowledgable, told such interesting back stories. Somehow she was able to choose the most fabulous works from the Louvre which is hard to imagine given that collection. For my daughter and I, this was our first visit to France and was just a wonderful introduction to the museum and to the city/country.

The tour started right on time and Vivianne was very knowledgeable and kind. We really enjoyed our tour, and it was just the right amount of history and information mixed with keeping the tour moving. There is so much to see at the Louvre, but it wouldn’t have been as good of an experience without Vivianne. We got in quickly and the small size of our group ensured a really enjoyable time. Awesome Private Tour of the Louvre Museum

The private group tour of the Louvre from LivTours was one of the highlights of our time in Paris. Our guide, Ferit, was awesome - knowledgeable, informative, and entertaining. He did a great job of hustling us through a two hour overview of the museum which included an unexpected stop to see the Mona Lisa (thankfully the crowds were not that big).
