Great intro to the Flea Markets

Phillipe was an excellent tour guide. He was informative, friendly and helpful. I would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to get a feel for the flea market then stay after to explore on your own. I stayed for 2 hours after the tour but would not have known where to begin without Phillipe’s information during the tour.

Had a wonder experience...

Had a wonder experience the tour guide was very passionate in his knowledge of all the markets and history of the markets. Highly recommend this tour you will learn a lot about vintage shopping and some great food recommendations!

A great way to navigate the marches!

Florian was fantastic! She gave us great information and helped us locate shops with items we were interested in. Definitely book this tour with Flor to start your shopping day. Take a break from shopping and have lunch at Au Roi du Cafe St Ouen. Amazing Croque Mousier et Madame!

Something for everyone!

This could take a full day to explore it all. A great time and our tour guide Flo was excellent. We loved all the little stores and all the vintage and antiques for sale.

I feel like it was money well spent. There’s no way we could’ve found our way without his help. For the first timers!!

Could pass on this tour.

The flea market is more like a town of shops. Some are in a shopping arcade, some are outside, some are partially under a roof and some are like outdoor garage sales. Quality varied from antiques to junk. We enjoyed the old, eclectic areas. I don’t know that we needed a tour for this. We did hear some interesting history, but we would have spent our time more efficiently if we’d just started shopping when we got there as opposed to waiting until we finished the tour.

Disappointing

Guide was friendly and up beat. But we did little resembling the promise of the sales pitch. There was scant ‘anything’ not doable without guiding. Sorry to be disappointed but we were. Def not worth the $110 paid for the two of us. We’d advise going unguided first

Excellent Introduction to Les Puces

We had so much fun with Helen at Les Puces! I booked this as a group tour, as a gift for my Mom. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived and discovered that we were the only participants! Helen was warm and friendly, with a wealth of knowledge about the flea market and Paris history and culture. She was attentive to what we were looking for, and brought us to shops that aligned with our interests. We also gained an overall understanding of the market’s layout through the general tour. She answered our questions (can I touch items in the stalls? Is negotiating an option?), while adding colorful commentary about the history of the markets. Helen even pointed us in the direction of an excellent restaurant for lunch after the tour. I would definitely recommend this tour to others! The experience gave me the confidence and knowledge to visit the markets on my own the next time I’m in Paris!

Enjoyable time at the Marche aux Puces

The Marche aux Puces can be overwhelming for the first time shopper. Tobias did a great job in explaining the market and made the experience much more enjoyable.

Skimming a huge, old flea market.

Very nice guide, but the tour was too limited and quick. Just a taste of this enormous flea market., which is time worn.

Fun and time saving

This is a very large flea market encompassing multiple city blocks with everything from $5 sneakers to priceless antiques. The guide orients you and finds the sellers that cater to your interests while providing lovely commentary. They also show you a diverse range of vendors so you can focus in.

Our guide Helene was knowledgeable and friendly. She was helpful in steering us towards the areas that would meet our expectations. The hot weather kept us from exploring much further.

Excellent tour

Tobias was excellent! He did a great job telling us about the different areas of the market . The hardest part of his job was keeping everyone together, and he was excellent.

None to share as we never met our guide. I called phone listed & left a message we would be late. No answer. Guide did not call us.

Great tour. Lousy directions.

The gentleman that conducted the tour was great. Knowledgeable, funny, witty, kept us on the move. Went overboard the tour was about 3 hours. That being said, Viator direction on paper are inaccurate. 50 Av. de la Parte de Clignancourt shows up almost to the freeway at a gas station, not a MCDonalds. Very confusing

Excellent tour!

Tobias was an excellent guide-very knowledgeable and a great communicator. The market is too big & confusing to do it alone but Tobias made it less intimidating. Really enjoyed his tour!

More tailored to our tastes than expected

Tobias was lovely and very helpful. The tour was extensive and suited to our tastes. The market is extensive and without Tobias’s help it would have been difficult to get a good overview, despite published descriptions.

This was a great way to explore the Flea Markets of Paris in a fun and educational way! Our tour guide Tobias was very knowledgeable about the different markets and was able to guide us through the complicated passages. He even tailored the tour to what items our group was interested in seeing, and he was able to communicate with vendors with us if we had any questions. I would recommend this tour to anyone who is considering visiting the flea/antique markets! They were much easier to navigate with Tobias as our guide.

A must for the largest flea market in the world

Best intro to the market! I went the weekend before and was discouraged and overwhelmed; our guide was knowledgeable and fun!

Good for some

Was good to hear the history of the markets and to see different areas but the guide kept taking us to parts of the markets that sold huge pieces of furniture and garden settings etc. As overseas travellers we cannot buy any of these things and take them home so would have been better to stick to the parts that sold smaller goods

Good historical overview

Sean is a very personable and knowledgeable guide but the tour needs to be adjusted to his audience …as a tour guide myself I try to tailor my presentation to my audiences interests…this is not a criticism but I hope a helpful critique. We were a group of 8 all 60+…I personally found it hard to relate to the “younger” points of interest (space ships, cartoon characters, records …all things hip with the younger generation lol if “hip” is still a word )when there are so many other “older” things I’d have liked to seen…we ended up leaving the tour early to go explore on our own. P.S. not my first time at the flea market so I ended up showing my friend around…

Marche du Puce - An Addiction

Betty and I have been to Paris, perhaps two dozen times, and without fail, we spend one day at the Marche du Puce ( Market of the Fleas ), in St. Ouen. You could visit a hundred times and never see it all. However, there are favorite stalls that we must always visit. The Tapestry shop, Vernaisan Tapisseries, is one of those places. We always find at least one or two French tapestries that must come home with us. And the corridors with the African sculptors and artists is a must-see.

Very informative and friendly guide

This was a very useful guided visit to get a feel for the huge extent of the Puces de Saint-Ouen. There is so much to see, and this organised tour of the best areas to visit allowed us to make best use of the time we had there. The guide had a great deal of local knowledge and was very easy to follow.

Well worth a visit

I loved the atmosphere of this market, it’s spread over a large area and has some very interesting treasures to find. We went at opening time on a Sunday which I recommend as I believe it gets quite busy later on. It’s a colourful, interesting and diverse. Recommend a visit. Also the surrounding area is a lively interesting place.

Great day away from the city!

St Ouen is just outside of the actual city center, and it's an awesome place to shop. Your guide will take you to this amazing area with all these beautiful antiques and vintage stuff, but surrounding the real antiques and vintage stuff is all sorts of amazing fast fashion places. You can't go wrong shopping there, no matter what you do! There's a fantastic place for lunch, too, Chez Louisette, in the first markets you'll go to! It is NOT to be missed! Order the Muscles!

if you really have a lot of time, wander, wander, wander.

This is like many markets around the world in many ways but there are some little gems that are worth looking for. I was interested in on linens and lace and had researched some spots to visit. I found them and they were worth the visit. However I found the prices on the high side. There are lots and lots of typical market stalls for clothing and footwear. The special stall can be found, Interesting antiques, homewares etc are fun to explore. Do your homework and know your prices.

Immense

I love antique fairs, flea markets etc and oh my this place is amazing. According to Google it’s the largest in the world. Hundreds and hundreds of antique, retro, collectibles, Brice a brac stalks plus hundreds more selling new clothes, shoes, watches, food stuffs etc etc. We spent 2 hours and possibly saw 5% of the stands. There’s something for everyone here. So many quirky items and if you buy anything large there are shoppers there to transport your items around the globe. Only in at weekends so plan your trip in advance. Awesome !!

love this place, lovely chinas and rares things to see even if not buying like going back in time - stroll around, take a coffee and croissant and find the right treasure hiding there for you

Good for a first time

The guide was very friendly, and the tour was nice for my first time at the flea market to orient myself, find the best markets, and not get lost, so no regrets. I was just expecting more, like some history of the flea market etc. I also probably should have taken her up on the offer to help us find something in particular, but, alas, I am too shy for my own good. Loved the market itself: can be very expensive but is fun to window shop, pick up one small thing, and get away from the purely touristy area.

Paris Flea Markets

My son and I spent A wonderful morning in the markets thanks to our guide, who was very interested in helping us to have a good experience. I would recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in the history of the markets and the layout because it’s unlike any flea market that I’ve seen in the states and it enhances the experience to have a knowledgeable guide.

Fun at the Flea!

This was a very fun and helpful tour. We own a business in the Chicago Suburbs and having a local who was fun and knowledgeable guide us through the huge market was great! He provided great tips as to how to negotiate respectfully with the local merchants.

A mixture of high end and just tate

We visited the flea market but I would not say that there was any bargains. You walk through which is a normal market selling designer fakes and trainers. The flea section is interesting but mega expensive, well worth the visit but be aware of your environment and pick pockets.

<p>This was the highlight of my brief visit to Paris. My tour guide was excellent. Sorry if I butcher his name but it was something like Flore ?. He was very knowledgeable and fun. When he said he would show me things I'd never seen before, he was right! At the Colonial House, a decorative arts showroom based on natural materials including taxidermied animals, I was enthralled w the display and variety of beautiful things. I purchased a small bird from Australia and it will always remind me of Paris. I've seen a negative blurb about the shop elsewhere from someone who doesn't like stuffed things, but I found it fascinating. St Ouen is a maze, so I'm so glad I had my guide to lead the way. So much to see. I left very happy w my small treasures of antique photos, keys, shells . . . and a little, purple and black bird note, it's NOT on the CITES list, we checked. I highly recommend this tour. :-</p>
