Worthwhile Tour

Nice pace, great tour guide - very good at presenting in two languages. Fantastic views on the Seine of Eiffel Tower and so much more!

Great Tour!

Loved this tour we were able to experience going through the locks when changing from the canal to the river and the best part was finding the Statue of Liberty and being able to take a photo of her with the Eiffel Tower in the background!

Holidays

An interesting trip, educational comments. Most of the travel time takes place along the canal, where there are many locks. For those who like faster trips, it may be a bit boring.

Better than just a river cruise!!

So glad we chose this tour over a cruise that only included the river. The history of the canal, the experience of the locks and the tunnel were fantastic. The cruise was both relaxing and informative. Our guide Ben was knowledgable and entertaining. We would highly recommend this boat cruise.

Slipping under the hubub

I found the trip peaceful and pleasant, a welcome relief from the teeming streets. The narration was well done making understanding the views accessible, even if the humor favored an older crowd (appropriate given the composition of the group). I was unsure of sitting on top while going through the tunnels, so I sat inside, my only regret.

River and Canal Cruise

We thought this was a cruise for 20 people and were surprised there were well over 100. We were on the upper deck which became very crowded. We met some lovely people and loved hearing about their vacation. The cruise itself was interesting, and we enjoyed seeing all the landmarks from the water. Unfortunately, our guide was difficult to understand/hear because of the poor quality of the sound system.

Fun and Informative Cruise

Our canal and river cruise was fun and informative. We liked seeing the sights from the river and learning some of the history of the area. Highly recommend.

Missed the boat!

The address is not correct. We could not locate the access point and could not find any help. We called on our way as we were late. We were told not to worry that our tickets were good for all day and there would be another boat. We waited but never another boat. We called again and we were told that we could not use our tickets. Very confusing and disappointing. The second person we spoke with was rude. Don’t do it.

Great introduction to Paris

This was a lovely way to start our stay in Paris and get oriented to many key sites. The narration was really appreciated.

No what we expected!

Not what we expected.. going thru the channel locks, traveling what seemed like forever thru the tunnel (the smell, diesel and sewer fumes). The commentary, Constant noise, 4 different languages back to back, too much! The final topper, having to climb 42 steps at drop off!

St.Martins canal cruise a winner

Cruising the canal is just a beautiful way to see Paris .Our guide was historically & geographically informative but fun.We loved it. Great value for money

Not just a river cruise.

A really good and informative cruise. It was fascinating to go through the Bastille Tunnel along the canal which we didn’t even know existed in Paris until we found this trip! Great to find out something new. They also took a more leisurely pace along the river than other operators who were steaming past us, giving plenty of time to take in the sights.

Great commentary by Ben and excellent driving by Brenda. Commentary was quite loud and could have been a little quieter, this was my 2nd time and highly recommend

Not good environment. Sketchy area.

We felt very unsafe as area was disheveled and sketchy. We were so uncomfortable walking and waiting at pick up we decided against going. Boats were poorly kept on canal. Not a safe environment. We had people approach us often in a bad way. Left in Uber rather than continue on with tour.

Frustrated disappointment

Google maps from my booking site email took us to the wrong location on the river (8 mins walk away). Missed the boat and then SMS sent to company for correct location (which I then saw on the booking in writing (not in the “see directions area”) so had to figure out where it was as Paris roads are new to us). Found the corner but still no signage to see where the boat pick up would have been. Disappointing to miss this cruise.

Nonexisting boat trip

Terrible experience. We arrived at the picking up point in good time as stated in the ticket we received. But no boat or guide showed up. We tried to call the company but no answer. Waited for an hour until we gave up. Would not recommend anyone this disappointment.

The announcer spoke too loudly , the microphone too close to his mouth so that we shut him out but got a headache!L

Too loud! Announcer was deafening!! Ride was nice but continuous screaming into the microphone was exhausting to us

BOAT NEVER SHOWED UP??

Got to the stated pick up point at 2.45 for our 3pm cruise which never showed up! We called the tour provider who was absolutely no help - all they said was no one else had called so the boat must have been there. Unless it was an invisible boat it was not there. Be wary of booking this cruise as it could very well be a scam!

An excellent look at a different side of Paris along with the major monuments.

We enjoyed this cruise today and despite the outside temperature being about 2 degrees C it was still a very pleasant experience. This cruise does not set out to be a lunch or dining experience but rather provides a look at two worlds within Paris. The cruise begins about half way up the Canal St Martin where lots of people were taking advantage of the winter sun to sit alongside the canal. This creates a view of a part of Paris that is off the beaten tourist track but nonetheless a very pleasant area with many boutiques, an award wining Boulangerie and plenty of liveliness. The cruise boat then heads South toward the Seine, passing through a double lock to lower the level of the boat in the canal to fit under the long tunnel that links the Richard Lenoir area to the basin at Bastille. Another lock then allows the boat to proceed onto the Seine and the 'other world' of the major monuments of Paris visible from the river: Notre Dame, Ile St Louis, the Louvre, Musee D'Orsay, Place d la Concorde, the Grand Palace, the Pont Alexander and of course plenty of views of the Eiffel Tower and down to the turnaround point at the State of Liberty quarter scale replica. The cruise then moors up against the Ile de Citi allowing easy access to either Pont Nuef or Chatelet transport hubs. For the cost this is a very worthwhile two hours and the commentary is given in both French and English by the very pleasant hostess who then multi tasks as deckhand and buffet server. Thanks for a great experience.

Sometimes too mutch and too loud music, in the same time - the sound was not loud enough to hear wath was Said in the loudspeakers. I nerver saw any pancaces….?

Worth the trip!

Other than 105F temps, the cruise was awesome. Great tour guide, learned a lot I didn’t know. Cool to see the locks open and close

A spectacular and educational boat trip on Canal Saint Martin en Seine

Very witty and educational commentary from the guide (French/English). Quite an experience to sail through the locks on the partially arched Canal Saint Martin to the Seine. But you do pay a hefty sum for it.

Croisière très intéressante, excellent commentaire, itinéraire étendu jusqu'à la statue de la Liberté. Il ne manque que le bassin de La Villette et la vue sur... l'hôtel du nord.
