Orsay Museum Skip-the-Line Private or Small-Group Guided Tour

Couldn't understand guide.

This was a skip the line tour. Our guide was late so we had to go in on our own. We could not understand her because of her accent. I am sure that she was knowledgeable but none of us could understand her. I met another Viator guide who was easy to understand, so we just had some bad luck.

Great small group tour!

It was awesome having our own personal guide through the museum. It was just me and my daughter and our guide. She was great, very knowledgeable and we got the highlights which is what we were interested in. Highly recommended if you have limited time but still want to see everything you've always heard about.

Was ok

Read more carefully than I did. Skip line does not mean tickets included!! They are not. He will go to I don't know which line and bring the tickets back outside but you pay addition for them. It was interesting but it don't think 90 min was worth $187.92 plus $30 plus entrance fee for the 2 of us. It was 90 min from time he met us outside to time he left so that included time on line for tickets and security.

Disappointing!

Our guide never showed up! So disappointing. We ended up going in the museum ourselves at 1:00pm because we had the entry tickets, We fit the tour into our itinerary and it messed up our schedule. Ridiculous.

Wonderful experience at the Orsay!

We had a fabulous time at the Musee Orsay. Our guide was friendly,very knowledgeable and kind. We enjoyed the time spent with her. Highly recommended!

Orsay private tour

Yi Chen was 30 minutes late and didn’t notify us until we contacted him. We almost left thinking he was no show and he didn’t add time at the end. But he was very knowledgeable and enjoys art so we appreciated his tour a great overview of the Orsay. Plan to spend some time in Orsay after tour. The volume and quality is overwhelming

Very impressive collection covering a different time period than the Louvre. Our Viator guide was knowledgeable and friendly, and quite efficient. (Itsé ?). Museum was easy to access. Would like to have been able to sit down more often.

Needed more time!!

The Orsay is a wonderful museum but unfortunately our guide did not allow enough time for us to enjoy it. We arrived on time to meet him but an hour into our private tour he said his next client was waiting for him and he kept looking at his watch as he rushed us to the end and abruptly left us after just and hour and a half. He was a bit hard to understand even though we had an ear piece because his English was bit choppy.

Our guide made we understand Impressionism.

Our guide Zhuan was very knowledgeable about Impressionism, excellent tour. The other guys in our group didn't attend, so we ended having a kind of private tour.

Rip off. The entrance tickets were not included, so while I purchased them, the group took off to I don’t know where.

Great tour guide.

Great tour guide. Loved the museum and Anne Clare was an amazing guide. Viator has the best guides. Highly recommend Musée d’Orsay.

Our guide Jean Paul was a wonderful guide. So knowledgeable and engaging - we cannot recommend this tour more highly.especially skipping the long queues

Personal trip through the Musee

Personal and informative trip through the Musee. Our guide was obviously an art lover. He was also an artist and was able to point out textures and techniques. I thought it would be a small group, but it ended up being just the two of us.

Superb tour!

Ana, our guide, was knowledgeable and engaging. She mqde the tour memorable by connecting the impressionist movement with the art world that preceeded it.

Best guide at the Louvre

Great museum guide

Damien (our guide) was terrific - knowledgeable & patient with teenagers. Two hours was the perfect amount of time for an overview of the museum. Of course, skipping the line was brilliant.

Nice private tour

Tour guide was excellent and perfectly French :-) My family of four enjoyed learning about all the works of art and the context behind the history of the museum and the artists. Just enough, right length of time. Please note that the museum tickets are NOT included in the Viator price. Need to buy them separately ahead of time!

Great time at D'Orsay

Private tour guide was so interesting. I learned so much from her and thoroughly enjoyed seeing the paintings with a different lens. There is a special exhibit now to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the first Impressionist exhibit that includes a virtual reality portion that is amazing - cannot recommend this highly enough. I didn't want to penalize the guide because I know her pay is tied to the rating so did not take 1 star off but there was a lack of clarity when booking that we needed to buy museum tickets separately. When we got to the entrance we were told our "tickets" were for the guide only. It was easy to buy them on site, but would have been nice to know ahead of time. Also our time with the guide was cut short about 30 minutes due to the wait to get into the museum (you do get a separate "group" entrance where the line is shorter, but still a wait). Overall great experience and would recommend.

Family tour

Christophe was a great guide. Meet up and logistics were fine. The tour was short (hour and a half) and had to buy museum tickets separately. The skip the line was confusing as we had to wait for a bit so not sure if that was an advantage to the tour purchase or not for the price paid. Christophe had great knowledge of the artwork and we learned a good deal from him. The art discussion a little tough for teenager so perhaps consider for older group.

Guide didn’t arrive

Our guide didn’t show up or answer any messages. Several hours later he texted and said he had declined the tour ahead of time but we were not notified.

Misleading title

The ticket was advertised as a “skip the line” guided tour with guide. However when we got to the museum the day of the tour and read the fine print it indicated that we needed to have purchased tickets on our own. The title was misleading. No tickets were available for several days. Our guide Gonzalo was very apologetic and indicated he attempted to alert us prior. He even attempted to help us find an alternative museum to visit as no tickets were available at the Orsay. But we did not understand given the title that entry tickets were not included. We used your competitors “The Tour Guide” and “Get Your Guide” several times. In each they advertised a “skip the line guided tour” tickets were provided. This was very misleading advertising.

Quality tour and great historical info

We enjoyed very much touring Musée d'Orsay with Christophe. Great vibe, lots of great info. Knowledgable and engaging. A great experience - recommend!

Excellent experience for a non art person

In depth knowledge of the tour guide. She was entertaining and knowledgeable. She took us to different paintings and explained the story behind the paintings and the artists themselves.

Musée de orsay skip the line private tour

Tour was great and we loved our guide but paid for skip the line yet we waited in line for well over 30 minutes and it seemed to be the regular line so not sure I would have spent that much just to spend a large amount of our tour time time just standing in line. Maybe you should meet your guide inside so that so much time is not wasted.

LEARN A LOT FROM AN EXPERT

Our guide was very knowledgeable and personable. She was able to answer all of our questions about many different aspects of Paris. She definitely knew her art history and we learned a lot from her. She had us skip the coat check lines and brought us directly to the free lockers on the lower level.

Excellent guide - NOT skip the line access though.

Our tour guide Katherine was excellent - she made our visit very interesting with her knowledge of the art and made a huge museum manageable in our short time. Knocking off a star as this was definitely NOT a skip the line experience though.

Not engaging or child friendly !!

I was visiting with my 10 year old granddaughter (her first time). Our guide made no effort to adapt the tour to keep her engaged (there was only 1 other guest). She had a strong accent, so she was very hard to understand. Her delivery was so dry we left the tour after the first 10 minutes. Such a disappointment and waste of money.

Path through history

The guide was excellent and had planned a tour through the history of French art leading to time of the Impressionists and post Impressionists. It was a great way to develop a better understanding of the progression of art over the centuries.

Our guide, Afsi, was amazing and made the entire experience perfect for us. The location, art, and her insights made it sooooo worth the time & cost. We avoided lines, got art lessons, and wonderful insights thanks to her.

Fabulous museum, we used a private guide and she was really knowledgeable, hit the highlights and put us on a path to see the rest of the museum, I would Highly recommend this tour.

skip the line tour DOESNT COME WITH TICKETS!!?

zero. we got scammed. paid $250 for nothing. didn't get to go. We showed up on time, had called Viator ahead of time who told me to bring cash for tickets, the descriptions "does not include cost of ticket". But evidently doesn't include a ticket Paying to skip a line, then having to wait in a 90 min line sees not right to me. We did not wait. we left

Amazing tour! It felt so personal and relaxed to have such a knowledgeable guide. Definitely recommend it!

Disappointed

Unfortunately, we we not able to join the tour because it turned out that the tour didn’t not include the entrance tickets to the museum that have to be bought separately on the official museum website weeks in advance!!! Even though the tour was available to purchase 2 days prior the tour date. My advice, be very careful booking these tours in Paris , booking the tour doesn’t always include the tickets to museums or palaces!

Tour guide was the best! We had a superb guide, Damien. He was well informed and gave us a detailed, excellent tour.

Wonderful private tour hitting all of the highlights of the museum. Our guide had deep knowledge of the artists and their work. Highly recommended.

Disappointing

Extremely disappointed!!! We couldn’t attend the tour as it turned out that tickets to the museum were not included to the booking and had to be purchased separately on the official website of the museum!! I booked the tour a day prior the tour but the tickets on the official website were sold out long before that and apparently we had to get tickets a few months in advance… we ended up losing a lot of money!

Fabulous experience

Perrine was an incredible tour guide. It ended up being just the two of us on the semi private tour with Perrine and she was absolutely wonderful. We learned soooo much from her and were able to understand her English well while also being able to ask questions based on the background she was providing. It was a fabulous tour that we would definitely recommend. I'd love to go back and learn more one day.

Knowledgeable guide, needs more practice escorting people through a museum.

Our guide Brian was pleasant and knowledgeable, but he seemed unaware of the customer's experience and point of view. He stuck us in corners with our backs to the art while he spouted dates. He should have been strolling with us or standing so we could see the exhibit he was describing. Seeing Whistler's Mother was an incredible experience. She is so much more interesting and compelling in person. The building itself is beautiful and makes a wonderful backdrop for the sculptures. Loved the Degas dancers.

One of the best tours you can go on!

Oh my goodness!! The best tour guide I’ve ever had. I was so blown away by every painting, because of the detail she described each work. My wife and I, plus our daughters literally felt what the artist was trying to describe with each work. Bravo! Please hang on to this guide. She is awesome.

Poor delivery

The Musee d’Orsay is incredible however the guided tour was very poor. It felt very rushed the guide trying to cover too many art works and periods. We also did not resonate particularly with the guide and his delivery which was unclear at times

A decent, but very fast, tour.

We were directed to buy the wrong tickets, so we had some issues getting into the museum. The tour was good, but very fast. We saw several of the major pieces, the tour guide did a good job of communicating, but afterwards we had to go back through on our own to see everything. A decent tour, and could have been better.

No guide at the rhino!

Our guide never showed. Waited 45 minutes. Tried to call. No answer. Hope guide is ok. Would be nice to hear from this company.

a great way to see the beat of musee D’Orsay.

the guide gave great explanations of the different art styles on display, giving context to the works from a social, political and historical perspective. this made viewing the paintings all the more interesting.
