My favorite museum, not to be missed if you are in Paris! The private tour provides an informative and intimate experience.

Great experience and tour guide (Sunday)

Sunday our tour guide made this an awesome experience. Her passion for art and specifically for the impressionist artists helped us understand the art and its historical context. Sunday was very engaging, very knowledgeable and energetic. We highly recommend this tour.

My wife and I did this tour in June 2024. Liliya was our tour guide. She was fabulous. She is a native English speaker (as she's from Florida). There were 6 of us on this tour. First things first...if you are concerned with the expense of the tour versus doing it on your own, please don't overlook the facts that : - The line to get into the museum is long. It might not be so bad waiting in line if the weather was clear and cool. But, if you have a rainy day or an extremely hot or cold day...you don't want to be waiting in this line with hundreds of people. It was VERY NICE leaving all those people in line behind as we just walked into the museum through a separate door! - Having a personal guide for your small tour was worth it's wait in gold. Liliya was very informed of the various philosophies of art and she when into detail on many art works as a result of her knowledge. We learned so much of the inner workings of how the various artists lived, worked and their reasons for painting particular masterpieces. Art works from Monet, Van Gogh (not my favorite artist) Renoir, Manet (she went into great detail on the differences between Monet and Manet which many people confuse one for the other), Ingres, Gauguin and others were discussed. The Mona Lisa was everything we'd hoped that it would be! Venus de Milo was an awesome sight! Give this tour some serious considerations! It was fabulous!

Best tour ever! Our guide explained the history of Impressionism with so much detail & examples. I have been to the Orsay before, but thoroughly appreciated all of its art so much more. Thank you for providing such a knowledgeable & interesting guide.

Special Tour with Hugo!

Our guided tour of the Orsay Museum was awesome. Hugo was knowledgeable and personable. You could tell he was passionate about the art and shared his enthusiasm with us. We were very happy with our experience with Hugo!

Solo tour of Musee d’Orsay

Daniel was friendly and very well informed. He explained the background and history of the museum, the paintings and the artists and even got us into a special exhibition. I would highly recommend this tour.

Musee d’Orsay After Hours

My favorite museum in Paris! The Beaux Arts architecture of the building (one of the old train stations) is as spectacular as the art inside. Soaring ceilings, light filled spaces, graceful iron girding. As beautiful as a cathedral. We had Florence as our guide for a semi-private tour (6 people) and she did a wonderful job. Friendly and very knowledgeable. She was able to share interesting information about the various painters making up the Impressionists and also how their art came to be and what it meant at the time. In modern times, many people take for granted that everyone always loved their work. Not so and Florence explaining the context of why they painted the way they did and what it meant to the established art world made it so much more interesting to me. She also showed us the grand ballroom of the hotel that was originally at the top of the station. Breathtaking1. Many thanks to Florence for a lovely tour. Also, thru July, the museum is doing a retrospective of the first 1874 Impressionist exhibition. To see all those painting that we in the modern world adore together is worth braving the crowds. Bravo!

Wonderful Experience at D’Orsay!!!

great tour of amazing museum!

Our tour guide Margaux was excellent. She had a deep knowledge of art history and was very informative. She taught us a great deal about numerous artists and used the time quite efficiently so that we were able to go through the vast highlights of the museum. This was our second time visiting the Orsay with a private guide and we learned a lot of new, interesting information. I would be really happy to have Margaux as a tour guide for other museums.

Stunning Orsay tour

Marcel was absolutely fabulous as our guide. He’s art history knowledge made such a great contribution to our understanding of the Orsay . Everything I wanted see was on our tour through French Impressionism ! If I could put 10 stars ⭐️ it would not even come close to the tour with Marcel !!

Musee D’ Orsay

Elena our guide was excellent- very knowledgeable Our tour was supposed to be from 10-12:30 We finished at 12:05- that was the only negative aspect- we so enjoyElena’s wonderful explanations and the history she provided- we’re disappointed that the tour was shorter than described

Elena was an amazing guide and I will absolutely look at art differently now. A wonderful experience and she selected enough paintings for us to see and stop at to hear the details and history of the art piece and evolution of Impressionism without being overwhelmed by the sheer quantity of pieces in the museum. Great & Informative

Had a wonderful tour with Eduardo. He took us through the museum at a perfect pace weaving in historical facts about the city of Paris and the artists we viewed on display. Eduardo led us through a fantastic transition from one artistic genre to another.

A wonderful art experience for everyone

The guided tour with Florence was a treat. Her knowledge of art is endless. She knows all the interesting stories behind each painting and artwork. She transported us to the time when the pictures were painted and made us understand why the paintings at that time were considered shocking or hated or loved. She talked about the artists who hung out together and who influenced who. You don't need to have any deep knowledge of art, Florence takes you on a fascinating journey and the experience will stay with you. I'm really glad I chose a guided tour and was lucky enough to have Florence as my guide!

Nice art -but a timid leader and a fairly strong personality in thee group

Beautiful space and incredible art work. Just a little hard to manage two groups with different personalities. Often felt there was a lot of silence and fear of saying the wrong thing… so silence rather than commentary and sharing happening.

Great overview of some of the Museum & then additional time you can spend in the Museum once the tour ends. I would recommend it!

Nancy and Musee D’Orsay -a perfect combination!

FIVE STARS!! Nancy was funny and informative and covered so much in the time she was with us. She is a terrific guide-knowledgeable and entertaining-and was as interesting to the 16 year old in the group as she was to the adults. We learned about art, life in France and quite a bit of background about the many artists she covered. Ask for Nancy if you can!

Great museum enhanced by great guide

Our visit to the Musée d'Orsay was so special with Anatole's guidance, insight and humor! We had a great time exploring the museum, learning new things and bantering back and forth with him. His understanding of the arc of art history and his own point of view made for a really enjoyable visit.
