Good tour

Perfect length. The guide was very knowledgeable. We only had 10 people in our group which was small enough to keep everyone together and allow time for questions. More than enough time to take pictures and absorb the moment.

Notre Dame Island tour

William was a fabulous guide and certainly does know his history. He was fun and my grandchildren thought he was great! Would definitely do another tour with him.

Don’t miss this when visiting Paris

Both Conciergerie and Saint-Chapelle are definitely worth visiting. The highlight was the beautiful stained glass in Saint Chapelle. Our guide William very well prepared and knowledgeable. Pity that Notre Dame was still under renovation ;-)

Fantastic tour of Sainte Chapelle!

William guided us on this tour and he was excellent. Given that Notre Dame is still under construction to restore it from the fire, we can only stop by and see the outside, this tour was a great supplement and I learned a lot about St Louis (King) and the Sainte Chapelle along with the palace. The stained glass was phenomenal and William took loads of time explaining the meaning in some of the depictions and how it related to King Louis.

Know what’s expected ahead of time!

The tour itself was great! Matthew the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and attentive! The issues were with the earphone system. It cut out on many occasions. The computers were down so we had to wait at both entrances to get in. There was a bag check and metal detector at Saint Chapelle. It was required of a 2 year old. That family opted not to go in. This information should be shared ahead of time. What a shame they missed Saint Chapelle!!!!!

Great visit

Very interesting and beautiful historical sites. Knowledgeable guide. Microphone was a great idea to hear well. Smaller groups would be better.

A Lot to See on Such a Small Island

First, the starting point of the tour was easy to find. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We did have problems with the our "quiet box" systems, which they said has been giving them problems as more security equipment was going in around the area in preparation for the Olympics. Unfortunately, this meant our guide had to just talk to us, which sometime made hearing the information difficult when we were in larger crowds. Also, while Notre Dame was not open at this time and all we were able to do was look at the pictures surrounding it and look at it from the outside, it would have been nice to have a little bit more time at the site to reflect on the architecture of the building and take some additional pictures. The tour of the Conciergerie and Sainte Chapelle were well done. The guide provided us a lot of information and was able to easily walk us through both building's history and key features. All in all, a good tour for the length of time and price.

Great tour guide and wonderful sites!!

Guide was friendly and knowledgeable. She had a mixed group of young and old and adapted the tour to everyone. Extra time was allowed to observe on our own as well. Great tour!

Knowledgeable and entertaining guide!

We would not have known where to go or what we were seeing without Cecilly (sic?). She was a delight and made this a rich experience. The history of the island came alive through her eyes. We both thoroughly enjoyed our tour. It was well worth the money.

Great way to experience the island

We really enjoyed our tour with Veronique. She had a wealth of knowledge and was easy to hear and understand. Sainte Chapelle was stunning - very beautiful. I loved also hearing all the history that came along with this tour. Well done. One thing I would have liked though is a bit of time to look at the gift shops at these places.

Interesting

We booked Notre Dame tour as one of our week in Paris for visiting the main plaices for art and culture. The tour was interesting, the guide knowledgeable but the ears phone connection was interrupted occasionally.

Caroline was our guide. She was very thorough in sharing vacts and insights. Our group was small and intimate. I definitely recommend this tour!

Sainte Chappelle Tour

Notre Dame is still closed, so you can't go in, which was disappointing. Sainte Chappelle was stunning and made the trip worthwhile. Hard to believe it was built in the 1200's. Our guide, Chloe, was fun and informative.

City tour on island

Awesome! Tour group was very, very accommodating when we were late because of us,learning the metro. Talked with us to get us back on track using satellite view of streets and then we were able to meet up with our tour guide while giving the tour. So amazing how kind everyone one was. The rest of the tour was fantastic. We only missed Norte Dame which we could visit on our own with it being closed after fire.

Not happy

We didn't enjoy this tour. To start with we walked around the Notre Dame building site. You can't see anything so it was pointless wasting our time doing that. We could have sat out the front & talked about the history of the island & then moved over to the other two sites. We love history & architecture but found this tour quite boring. It's not worth the price of the tour. I recommend you buy tickets & explore yourself.

You must see Sainte Chapelle

Such a great tour. Very informative guide Cecile gave great context to all the sites. Sainte Chapelle is a MUST SEE if you are in Paris. Highly recommend this experience.

Wonderful historical tour

Booked this through Secret Food Tours website. This tour was great – informative, educational, and fun. Our guide, Monica, was super. She was engaging, had a wealth of information, kept the tour going at a good pace. She was able to guide us on areas to explore after the tour as well. Would definitely recommend this tour.

Very Informative and Easy Access to Sainte-Chapelle

We had not originally planned to join this walking tour on Île de la Cité, but are so glad we did. It was a breezy, informative introduction to the Île de la Cité, and we had perfect viewing of the incredible stained glass at Sainte-Chapelle. The group size is a very manageable 18 (which I believe is this tour's max). We were so thankful for the size when we saw much larger walking tours on the island. In addition, it was terrific to breeze past the long line waiting for security and entry into Sainte-Chapelle. Our guide Umberto had the perfect temperament and relayed a lot of information in a short time. He was educational and humorous. Our tour started on the exterior of Notre Dame (where the scaffolding had just been removed, but in May 2024 you could still not enter), then to the Conciergerie, and finally the amazing Sainte-Chappelle.

Beautiful Walk in History

Fantastic! St Chapelle and La Concierge are wonderful. We took our time. Coeds were not huge. Definitely worth visiting. No guide needed.

Disappointing, Poor Communication, Lousy Customer Service

This was very disappointing. We stopped at the Paris Today office as we were told there was another tour at 4:15 which we could take leaving from the Concierge. The gentleman told us he notified the guide and we were once again on a goose chase to try to join the group. Same as the last time they were gone. We finally saw another group in front of the Chappell and were able to join that group for that part of the tour. I do think Viator should compensate us, with a refund or at least a partial refund to show good faith. I am a good customer and have used viator 11 times on this trip alone. I will not use it again as your customer service is not user friendly on considerate. I will be posting a review regarding your refusal to compensate us and the time we spent chasing down 2 tours. Not User Friendly A Real Fiasco

After twice trying to catch up to our first 2:45 tour and then rescheduled for a 4:15 tour. Both guides were contacted and we were told no problem. I explained the situation and requested a refund, but to no avail. This is very disappointing. Almost missed tour, but recovered!

It was difficult to find the meeting place, but the office was in contact and we met at the first stop. The guide Heloise was excellent.

Wonderful! But don’t panic if you don’t get your admission immediately. Takes a few hours!

Wonderful guide!!! Do not worry about not receiving a pdf admission right away. As a local company it takes hours to secure the ticket and process. We worried and contacted Viator for no reason. It really was such a great experience! But if you wait until the last minute as we did, know it takes a few hours and give them grace!

Lock her up and Chapel of Light

This is one of the most memorable sites especially until Notre Dame reopens in December 2024. Our guide Matthew was exceptional. When you’re on a tight schedule and traveling with children, there is nothing greater than priority entry and an engaging guide to bring historical sites to life.

A tour worth taking

This is terrific tour. The guide was extremely informative and spent a sufficient amount of time during each of the three stops.

Educational and enjoyable tour

We really enjoyed this tour. The Concergerie was interesting and the commentary was appreciated. Sainte Chapelle was amazing and it was fun to learn what some of the different stained glass depicted.

Worth every dollar ! Sophie was outstanding ! The headsets made it amazingly clear to hear her! She speaks so clearly and was so knowledgeable! Highly recommend! Learned so much while seeing the amazing places and saint chapelle was life changing beautiful

St. CHAPELLE IS FANTASTIC

St. Chapelle was incredibly wonderful!! The added of the prison was okay. Our guide Mathew was difficult to understand, because of his accent. More time with St. Chapelle, and less with the prison.

Very enlightening history to go with the architecture.

Michelle's historical knowledge added much to the tour. St Chapelle is a don't miss site. Not a lot to say about Notre Dame until the rebuild is done.

Worth it!

Very worth it! Great experience and would certainly recommend. Very interesting learning about and seeing the concergie and saint Chappell. Our guide was great and the headphones they give you make it easy to hear even when he is ahead.

Incredible Experience and Tour Guide

I want to begin by the discussion I had with another couple on this tour. After looking at the line that we were able to pass to enter Sainte Chappelle, he said, "worth every dollar". I personally cannot understand why someone would waste precious time standing in line for hours on end when they can skip the line with a knowledgeable tour guide and not only get into the sights as easily and quickly as we did, but also learn so much of the history of the site. Now, onto the tour. First and foremost, WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES! Our guide was incredible! She walked us through the small charming alleys of Paris, took us by a notable cafe, and really brought the area to life! We were even able to listen to a Parisian (owner of one of the local cafe's) sing opera in an alley way (unexpected to us and the guide). Once in Sainte Chappelle, the guide explained the architecture of the building, the history, and all of the main historical facts surrounding it. We were also able to spend time outside of Notre Dame as it had not opened yet, but the guide showed us the best areas for pictures while we were there. An absolute MUST DO while in Paris.
