Best driver!!

Driver was highly professional, courteous, kind and knowledgeable about the areas we visited. He made us very comfortable and spoke English very well. Driver gave us a first class, luxurious tour of Normandy and Mont St Michel.

Normandy/ Mt Saint Michael tour

Harry was a great guide, and driver. Although shaky in English, he pushed us to the front of experiences in many instances, and looked out for us. I would've rated it 5 stars, but we couldn't get to Omaha beach as it was extremely crowded. A long day, but a memorable day.

Caveat emptor: run away!

Stay away from this company. We booked this tour with a English speaking guide. My French, which is terrible, was better than his English. He was only a driver and knew nothing about the area or World War II. He said he was our guide as well as driver. We asked questions and got one word answers. This company‘s idea of a guide is, “I will pick you up back at the car in 45 minutes. Here is the map.” I cut the tour short and had him return us to Paris. It was a huge disappointment given that I’ve been reading and studying about World War II and the D-Day invasion for many years and was looking forward to a day with a local guide. We missed Mont St Michael due to severe unease with the guide and this company.

Our driver was knowledgeable, polite, professional, funny and very friendly. Would highly recommend his services. He provided a newer comfortable car that was very clean and had phone chargers and water bottles waiting for us

Trip of a lifetime

Our tour guy, Rusty, was outstanding! The view was spectacular. It was undoubtedly the most spectacular example of man’s determination to build a tribute to Saint Michael.

A good day!

With one day in Paris, this was the best way to see both Mont Saint Michel and the American Cemetery and Memorial at Omaha Beach. It was a long day (7:30 am - 9:30 pm); but we had an excellent driver (Alexander) and are so glad we went!

Once in a lifetime experience

Another wonderful experience! Both Normandy and Mont St. Michel are amazing once in a lifetime places to visit. Out tour guide for the day was wonderful and knowledgeable as well as professional and personable. It’s a full long day and if we had a chance to do over again would have changed the Mont St. Michel visit to a full day to do more exploring.

Amazing Day

Rustam our guide was full of information and and had video presentations for us to watch. He gave great directions to the tour meetings place. He was on time and very friendly and professional. The visits to Normandy and Mont St. Michel were amazing and something I’d recommend highly to do on your visit to France.

Our experience was a little different than described. We were the only participants & were driven to each location by a driver, Alexander who spoke little English & us no French. It was a long day but were able to see both Mont Saint-Michel & Normandy in one day. Both are incredible spots that should not be missed! A huge thank you to Alexander for being so accommodating, patient & sticking with us for the day. I’m guessing the others on our tour cancelled & am so appreciated that our reservation was still honored. These were two must see sites on our bucket list & we would have been crushed had the excursion been cancelled.

Amazing day trip from Paris! It was a long day seeing extraordinary sites. Our driver/guide was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and punctual. Rusty checked in with us the night before our trip to confirm details and communicate necessary information. We appreciated the water, snacks, and other small conveniences that were provided to make this an unforgettable trip! Even though this was an express trip, we did not feel rushed at all. Thanks for a very moving, informative, and memorable day!

No what we expected

Be forewarned that you will not have an English speaking driver even though the tour information clearly says you will have a professional tour guide in English (you only get a tour in English at the abbey for an hour). Don’t expect it even though you purchased on an English language site and paid in USD. The driver was nice, but that is all he was, a driver who spoke Russian, and this is not what we were expecting for the price we paid for the trip. We could ask no questions about France on the 8+hours of drive time. Had I known, I would have brought headphones and found some France info online I could follow along with. The operator and Viator needs to be more forthcoming in the description about what you are actually getting for what you’re paying. In hindsight I would have much rather taken a larger group tour where they speak and actually tell you about what you’re seeing and doing on the way to and from. This is far from personalized as advertised. And then the operator will just say you got what you paid for. Lesson learned. Now I’m ready for the operator to send me a nasty message like he did when I requested a partial refund. Very unprofessional.

We loved the Mont Saint...

We loved the Mont Saint Michel tour given in English by Mont Saint Michel staff (which was free with paid admission). I rated this with 3 stars and would not recommend this tour because we thought that we would have an English speaking tour in Normandy D-Day and Mont Saint Michel as well as the driver. The driver tried his best using a translator to tell us times to meet, but for the cost of $1227.96, we were expecting the driver to speak English. We could have taken trains/ubers for less cost in transportation. We were left on our own at Omaha Beach and the D-Day cemetery.

Would recommend the site but not Viator

The site itself was great! Our driver didn’t speak English and we didn’t speak French, but luckily I knew Russian and we were able to communicate. Restaurants were terrible as we had a table and were being seated when the owner stepped in and seated some French folks in our spot then told us he was closed.

A Unique One-Day Excursion to Both Normandy D-Day and Mont Saint Michele -- Great Job!

We had a great experience. It was just my family of four on this tour. Our driver spoke only a bit of English, but he was friendly and courteous. The Mercedes van was comfortable and the seats could recline. Because it was going to be a long trip, we had them come pick us up a little earlier at 7am. The two locations (Mont Saint Michel and Normandy D-Day) each have lots to explore, are a couple of hours apart from each other, and truly meant to be two separate experiences to get the most out of each. Keeping that in mind, this tour operator was able to pull off an enjoyable one-day excursion by keeping to a tight schedule but still alotting enough time at each location for us to do a bit of exploring. It didn't feel rushed like those big bus tours; but by the same token, don't expect to have endless hours to linger at the Normandy museum and its beautiful cemetery grounds etc; rather, the pace is somewhere reasonably in between. Mt Saint Michel includes timed-tickets for an English guided tour, and then some bit of free time to explore on your own and take beautiful pictures. To optozime our time, we personally opted not to spend too much time for meal breaks, which we conveyed to the driver; but he also made sure to provide a couple of gas station breaks along the way. We got back a bit after 10pm but didn't feel exhausted because we were able to take naps along the long-stretches of the drive. My family and I felt very happy with the entire experience. Long day but worth it

Overall we had a great time and saw some beautiful sights but has a driver/guide that spoke no English. I would have expected someone that spoke our language when we booked an English speaking tour. Alex, our driver did the best he could and with the help of a translator app on my phone, we had basic communication since he spoke Russian. Overall a very busy, fun, but packed day.

I would have liked to...

I would have liked to have spent more time then 40 min. at D-Day monument and for the price it would have been better to have a smaller group, 6 to 8 people at Mont St Micheal, not 30 plus.

Viator/Clewel Mess Up

After the 3 day/2 night Tour we selected and paid for months ago was canceled after we arrived in Paris, we had to scramble for a hotel in a sold out city. We selected the next best Tour we could find. We were not picked up in a Minivan! Our driver, although pleasant, did not speak English so we never knew what our timeline was at each stop. We were late for our Mont St Michel Tour because of a ticket screw up. What else do you want to know?

Not what I had expected but loved the sights.

I loved being in both places but it was very difficult because our driver didn’t speak or understand much English. I know that i booked the express trip, however I didn’t think it would be so incredibly rushed at Normandy. I would have loved an extra 10-15 mins there. When we arrived at Mont Saint-Michel, I thought we would have an English tour guide. Again our driver was nice and didn’t leave our side but communication was a bit difficult using a translator. We did finally end up having a tour but it wasn’t a regular tour guide and she had a very heavy French accent and was difficult to understand her at times. The tour guide was also late getting to us~ I think she was a last minute stand in and it made us have to hurry to meet our driver in the time frame he gave us. I feel that I didn’t really get what I paid for, however I did really enjoy the sights. I didn’t enjoy feeling so rushed and the communication was difficult. I wish it had gone more smoothly. I would only recommend if you are short on time and don’t need a personal guided history of either place.

There was no "guide". There was a driver, who was very nice, but did not speak English very well. Everything was extremely rushed. Would absolutely NOT recommend this trip.

Fantastic Full Trip to Normandy from Paris

I can't recommend Clewel Travel enough. If you are on a tight timeline they are fantastic at putting together a package for you. We had one day to see Mont St Michel, Omaha Beach and the US Cemetery. I reached out and Cyrus put this package together for us. There was an issue with the payment that was entirely my fault. Cyrus was very kind and told me not to worry that everything was booked and we were able to work out the payment. Or driver Alexi was very safe and our guide Valerie was fantastic. It is a very tight timeline if you book this particular tour but that's because we packed so much into the trip in one day. But every American should goto the Normandy cemetery if only for 1min to grasp the totality of the US sacrifice and the beauty of what the French have done to honor the US soldiers that died in Normandy. Two tips: -GET WHATSAPP!!! - it's how people best communicate there and easier communication to solve problems. -Request to leave as early as possible on this trip. You can sleep in the nice van,
