Long way to be left behind in the bathroom!

Long day, long way to get there and have your guide Crystal leave us in the bathroom knowingly as she started tour leaving behind several of us. She was asked to wait but didnt. Not an easy place to locate Crystal. Wasted 20 min lost! Then Crystal had the opportunity to give us more info on our very long bus ride back thru the backstreet villages due to horrific traffic but did not. Sites were beautiful but that was it. Bus windows were filthy and hard to see out … crazy !

Our tour guide, Manuela, was very knowledgeable and friendly. She took time to answer our questions. And we learned a lot of the history of the abbey and the village.

Incredible site to see in person

The site was incredible, lots of people there so be prepared. We went on a Sunday might be less crowded during the week. The bus ride was comfortable and we stopped for a bathroom break and food or drinks once on the way and once heading back to Paris. Our Guide was knowledgable about the history and overall of the area.

Just amazing

Mont Saint Michel was just amazing. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and she kept things light and fun. Just be prepared for a long drive.

What a wonderful day in Mont Saint Michel! Claire was a fabulous guide, who took the time to make the day a very special one. Even though it may seem like a long day, this is a must-see and must-do experience!

Mont st michel guided tour

This was an amazing experience! Our guide Florence was wonderful. She explained the history in a thorough and interesting way- it made the visit so much more meaningful. The church and town are so interesting- like stepping back in time. Normandy is a beautiful area . The bus was comfortable- a long drive but well worth it

Not good

Our guide, Eleonor, was not good. Technically we did not have guide, we have chapperon who knew where were located restrooms and where to buy coffee and snacks.

Bad experience.

Mont-Ste.-Michel was worth the trip. Just don’t go on weekends. But I would not take any tour with ParisVisions again. 45 minutes into the return trip, the bus broke down. The driver spent a good 1.5 hours trying to fix it. The guides finally got the company to get other buses which took another couple of hours. We were left waiting at a crude rest stop until about 10:30 pm. No food, no bottled water. There was some water in a faucet but after looking at the conditions of the rest stop, didn’t want to trust drinking it. We did not get back until 1:30 am. We should have been back by 7:30 pm. All we got from the guides was a verbal apology and thanks for our patience! Unacceptable.

Bring snacks

Beautiful location and tour was Tour guide was excellent. Get a coffee from the hotel at the meat point bring snacks. It is very crowded and even the stops several buses could stop at one time.

Horrible tour in every aspect.

If you think this tour will be pleasant, think again. They shouldn’t even sell day tickets if they can’t even expedite you to the Abbey entrance. Many ppl on our tour could not even go bc the walk or shuttle was too long. I would never do a 1 day again using a bus tour, especially with this company. It was a waste of money especially when you can metro there for cheap and tour at your leisure. 1. Driver didn’t have key for bus bathroom 2. We arrived an hour late for a 4 hr tour 3. Traffic was too thick to access parking, we were dropped 15 min walk from shuttle. 4. Guide walked us to shuttle and left us to either shuttle (100’s of ppl in line) or walk 45 min. He did not assist from there. 5. We walked then waited another hour to enter. 6. We rushed through in 30 min. So we didn’t miss the bus back. 7. No time for drinks, food or restroom 8. 15,000 steps in 3 hours at 80° temps. 9. Tour guide inexperienced and didn’t seem to care. He may have said 20 sentences the entire 14 hour day.

Going to admire a beauty

The Mont Saint Michael is an architectural beauty. The guide was knowledgeable about the history and many other facts about the trip. The punctuality and the cooperation of the people made everything move smoothly 👌

Good but bring your own meal

Good place to go, but you have to bring your food, is impossible to eat at the place or even buy food to carry away. This was not advertised. First stop gas station good an 30 min to eat, returning to Paris gas station 15 and no food available.

Unforgettable experience of a truly special place

Amazing workmanship to plan and build the abbey, and Kristelle's enthusiasm and thorough knowledge of Normandy and Le Mont Saint Michel.

Comfortable trip

Good trip knowledgable guide. Good driver unfortunately there was no toilette in the bus for a 4 hour trip but the stops are planned well along the route.

Mont St Michel madness.

Unfortunately I have to give this tour a bad review. The tour company was not the issue at all. They were wonderful. The bus was immaculate, the driver safe, and the guide had a smooth pleasant voice that was easily understood. We were kept in the loop on when and where we were stopping and the stops were adequate as far as bathrooms and snack availability. My less than stellar review is simply due to possibly poor planning and unrealistic expectations on my part. For what you get to see the 4+ hour ride each way is just not worth it. We spent 14 hours on this day and spent perhaps a total of 4 hours at Mont St Michel. While we were there it was extremely crowded and impossible to enjoy any aspect of it. People pushing and shoving all over. Our guide did his best to keep us together as a group but it was nearly impossible. Simply too many people for any enjoyment at all. I’d like to commend the tour company on one particular pet peeve of mine that they handled very well. We were told to be at our bus for return at a specific time and not to be late. This was stressed repeatedly. When two of our 40 something busmates did not arrive on time they were given 20 minutes extra and we left without them. Bravo. I understand that things happen and we are all human but their lateness affected everyone. I’m sure they found their way back. So, if I were recommending this trip to a friend I’d tell them to spend a night nearby. Read about it. Observe the amazing Mont St Michel from afar and do not attempt to enter. It’s just not worth it. The tour company, in my opinion, should change the tour because it makes them look bad through no fault of their own.

Stunning Unesco site

We visited from Paris on a day trip (12hr). Our bus dropped us off from the public car park and with the instruction from our guide, we had to walk a short distance to the shuttle bus which then took us closer to the tidal island. The shuttle bus does make several stops before ultimately stopping at the boardwalk to le Mont-Saint Michel. From the boardwalk, it was another 15-20min through the streets, up a few stairs to the entrance for the abbey. Along the streets were cafes, restaurants, hotels and souvenir shops but most were closed as we visited during non-peak season. There was a security screening and ticket office prior to the final steps leading to the abbey. Note that the toilets after this ticketing booth was free. The path from here winds through the abbey, several lookouts, incredible Romanesque and gothic architectures and gift shops before leading to the exit via the winding switchbacks through the garden. Note there were a lot of steps up and down if visiting the abbey but they were not right after one another. This was definitely a to-do for us and were glad that it was possible to visit from Paris on a day trip.

Tour guide Claire is very knowledgeable and ensured we had a great tour. Would definitely recommend people to take this. Comfortable shoes a must.

Great place to see!

Our guide was Fantastic! Gave excellent instructions. The Abbey is absolutely breathtaking. Crowd was large - didn’t interfere so much with the tour but shopping afterwards was very crowded. Our guide said the crowd is much worse at times. A very very long day. Left at 7:15 am & lunch was not allowed until after the tour at 2:00 pm. My biggest issue was that I signed up for an English tour & the guide spent 1/2 the time speaking English & the other half speaking Spanish as we had Spanish speaking on the tour. Also the group was too large in such a crowded space. Glad we went but perhaps not the best way to see the place.

Awesome tour

The tour guide. Franck is handsome, kind and helpful. Recommended his tour. Mont saint-michel day tour is too short to cover the whole area. Advice to stay one night to enjoy the small town

Looooong but worth it.

Great tour overall. The bus ride is loooooong. Bring things to do. Zero leg room on the bus. The island is amazing. The guide was pretty good. Dealt with three different languages, so it made it long. We loved the restaurant LeTriPot. Great food and fast service.

Family Trip to Mont Saint Michel

As a family of six, we had a very good time. Our guide was exceptional. She was very knowledgeable and did a great job interacting with our four boys. The bus travel is broken in two 2 hour blocks. Time at Mont Saint Michel was well organized. We strongly recommend taking a guided tour of the complex given the rich history.

The tour guides Saeed and Ash ( City Wonders) were so helpful and knowledgeable They went the extra mile to make sure we were all safe, and were very generous with their local knowledge and practical tips The abbey is a dream and I feel so blessed to have been able to visit Mont Saint Michel !

A memorable day!

I loved this day trip from Paris. It’s a long day (14 hours) but worth it. Our guide Manuela was excellent and knowledgeable and the audio guides were helpful. The Abby and village are lovely and the scenery is beautiful. I would recommend bringing your own food because there isn’t adequate time to purchase it and the options aren’t great. I took off one star because it was absolutely FRIGID on the bus on the way there and the driver wouldn’t turn off the air conditioning even though it was March and rainy/chilly outside.

Safety and excellent experience

The tour guide is professional and very knowledgeable. I have an excellent experience and comfortable of the journey, when I travel again viator will be my first choice.

Visiting Mont Saint Michel was an unforgettable experience, greatly enhanced by our phenomenal tour guide who flawlessly catered to both English and Spanish speakers. Their attention to detail and caring nature truly set them apart. Equally impressive was our bus driver from Bus H, Vil, whose skill and professionalism made the journey one of the best driving experiences I've ever had. The ride itself was as enjoyable as exploring the majestic Mount St. Michel, making the entire trip a remarkable adventure from start to finish.

Great location, not great guide

The location is amazing and well worth the long bus ride. Full of fun little shops and great restaurants, not to mention the history! The tour guide was not worth it, in my opinion. She presented everything in both Spanish and English and, at the cost and with the numbers present, there certainly could have been separate guides for each language. She did not speak English all that well and most of her commentary seemed very stream of thought, rather than rehearsed, making for a lot of info dumping, lost sentences and generally difficult to understand presentation. Were I to do it again, I would get the same trip only without the guided tour aspect. Tip: They jam pack the busses so arrive early for a good seat. Also be aware that there are over 250 steps to get to the monastery, so that could be difficult for those with mobility issues, but there's a good part of the town that can be explored with minimal steps.

Nice tour with knowledgeable guide. This includes an hour guided tour of the Abby and a few hours of alone time to adventure.

Awesome full day trip from Paris

Our guide Manuela was excellent. Very nice the whole trip and full of great facts about Normandy and the Abbey. This trip is a very long day, but you can rest on the ride. The bus was very comfortable. The hike to the Abbey is 400 or so steps to the top on varying size stone steps. Definitely not for anyone who struggles with stairs. The actual Abbey is incredible. There is also restaurants and lots of gift shops. Very fund day.

Don't pay for the Guided Audio Tour

It was a long ride (4 hrs from Paris) but it was worth it. Bus was very comfortable and we made a stop mid-way to and from for those of you who are adverse to using WC on the bus. Our biggest complaint was that we requested the guided tour in English. The guide had to speak in multiple languages and the audio box system was so bad (we couldn't adjust the volume) and because it was garbled we decided to DITCH the guided tour and strike out on our own.

NOT RECEIVED WHAT THEY OFFERED!!!

They overcharged me for this excursion, and refused to refund. They offered and paid for private transportation. Then I had to go by bus, when I asked to refund the difference, “they regret to inform me, that the service was given” and will refund NOTHING!!! Really? So very NOT TRUST WORTHY!!!

A Great Experience… With Some Caveats

Mont St. Michel is an impressive site — a must see if you are in France. However, it was VERY crowded and the streets were vernarrow, and steep. The abbey is impressive, but very labyrinthine and hard to leave. Also, if the tour is advertised as being in English, the guide should have English as a first language.

A little expensive for what it is

I mean le place it’s really nice but the trip was waaay too long and the tourism isn’t regulated in mont Saint michel so it’s so crowded that it’s difficult to take pictures and not even try to eat there if you’re with the timing of the tour. Bring your own food if you can.

Took Over a Year to Refund Cancelled Tours

After the two tours we booked were cancelled, it took over a year and many e-mails to get the refunds we were promised. More often than not, our e-mails weren't responded to at all. When after several months they finally sent the refund for the first tour through PayPal, they marked it as a sale (with us as the seller) rather than a refund, so we were charged a fee. Even after we got in touch, explained the instructions PayPal had given us to multiple people, and Paris City Vision re-did the transaction, they still made the same mistake and we were still out the money. Months later, after several unanswered e-mails asking them to also refund the second cancelled tour, they finally responded again when we sent a very impatient e-mail. We tried a different refund method they recommended, had to jump through more hoops, and then were still docked a fee for getting our own money refunded, so there was no point. The second refund was finally received, with no notification from Paris City Vision, more than a year after we had been told we would be getting our money back. Will be booking with a different tour company in the future, since it felt like they kept dragging their heels and dropping the ball just hoping we would give up and let them keep the money for the cancelled tours. If a tour is cancelled, and you say you will refund it, it shouldn't take over a year and hours of the customer's time.

Worth the long drive.

Very informative guide & worth the long drive. Beautiful location but be prepared to climb quite a few steps.

Dress warm and go on a guided tour

It was a memorable experience as we missed the tour the last time we were in Paris. The travelling time to there is long (approximately 3.5 hours) but it was well paced with good toilet break. Once there, you would have about 3.5 hours in the village before boarding the bus back to to Paris. We opted for a guided tour which in my opnion is a must as you would be able to understand and appreciate the heritage and historical value more of Mont St Michel. If not, you would have too much time at hand and wandering around in gift shops and ended up overspending. Our guide, Laetitia, is very knowlegable and experienced. She could explained in details and related the functions of each room by verbally painting an image in your mind of its former glory. It was very chilly and windy at around 4pm when we had to head to the bus stop. Lunch options are not that many and food is so-so. Tips: Dress warm and go on a guided tour

Great location! Magical day! Tour company wasted a lot of time.

The abbey was amazing!! And we plan on returning but with a different tour group. Travel time is expected and required but at least an hour was wasted waiting. When you only have 4 hours to visit (which isn't mentioned in the tour description) losing an hour sucked.

Mont St. Michel is everything we hoped it would be

Great trip, everything we hoped it would be. as a Walking Dead Daryl Dixon fan it was great to visit a beautiful and historic site seen in the show. We had great guides as well thank you Sofia and Alexandra!

Inspiring!

The guided tour and guide for the Abbey were excellent and highly informative. The Mont is a special place and well worth putting on your bucket list.

Worth every penny

The agents are very professional, leaving from (and returning to) Paris on time and explaining every detail of the trip, which includes stopovers. The Mont Saint Michel is hard to explain in words; you have to see it in loco to understand its unique shape, location and beauty. A masterpiece!

Terrible trip

Nothing.bus ride was long and smelled funky. The guide was not good. The time allowed was short as you had to get in line waiting for bus and shuttle. Totally not worth the trouble

Not worth it.

Mont Saint-Michel is certainly worth visiting, however, the trip was scheduled for a full day with the bus leaving at 7AM and returning to pick up location at 9PM. That's a 14-hour day. What you are not told until you are on the bus that it takes 5 hours to get there and 5 hours to get back. With a pit stop for a bathroom break at the halfway mark. Nothing served on the bus and bus not equipped with USB ports, etc. so with very little to do to self-entertain. The tour guide was very nice and did a great job of sharing many details regarding Mont Saint-Michel's history. But by the time the tour was complete, there was no time left to get anything to eat even though there were many bistros and cafes on this tiny island. However with very long lines, long enough to miss your bus back if you got on these lines. So for the 14 hours we did not get to eat anything except for some mixed nuts we purchased on the way back when we stopped for the bathroom break at the halfway point. The 10 hours on the bus, and not to mention a number of the other tourists on the bus were coughing on the entire trip, certainly more than negated the trip. The online video of Mont Saint-Michel would have sufficed. We could have had a full extra day in Paris and saved all that money. It was not cheap.
