Absolutely incredible experience

Absolutely incredible experience both on bus and at the location itself. It was great having two guides Saeed and Daniel were both informative and entertaining and kept the tour light and fun. Only wished we got more time at the destination being that we had to save an hour for shuttle back and forth to the bus stop. Other than that I still give the guys a thumbs up and the driver Sasha drove us safely to and from our destination ❤️

Great tour guides

Daniel and Sayeed were our guides on our Mont Saint Michel tour. They were great guides and provided us with great historical context and facts. Furthermore, they were extremely friendly and had alovely sense of humor.

A wonderful TArip

I did like this experience, the bus was comfortable, we had two English speaking guides. Both of them were very caring and helpful. They kept telling us too many information about Mont Saint Michel, and the entire history of France, There was a free wifi inside the bus. Mont Saint Michel is a fantastic place, it's a must to visit. It's a recommended trip

Excellent Mont St. Michele day trip

Thelma and Saed were great! They were both very friendly and knowledgeable, and they made my all-day trip to Mont St. Michele very relaxing and enjoyable!

City escape

Fabulous place to visit although it is a long journey from Paris. Our guides - Saeed and Thelma were both very knowledgeable and helpful and we had an excellent and careful driver. Fully recommend.

Long bus ride

We loved the tour overall but I would have probably done this differently if I realized I was going to spend 10 hours on a bus with only a few hours to spend there. Not the tour company fault though this was bad planning on my part. It's a long day trip from Paris but it was worth it to see the legendary site

Awesome trip with great views

Long bus ride but worth the trip. We were able to see the church (a lot of steps) still had time to eat lunch and walk around. If you want to do shopping you might want to skip the church or the sit down restaurant.

Medieval delight

The beautiful countryside and the first sighting of medieval Mont Saint Michel which seemed to be floating between earth and sky

The "most" of Mont Saint Michel

Tour guides Daniel and Saeed were awesome. The place is a must-see and must-experience, and the self-guided app (Popguide) is thorough enough for most people to read before, during, and/or after.

Wonderful trip

Totally worth the long drive

Long drive (~4 hours each way) to Mont Saint Michel from Paris. However, the tour guides, Daniel and Said, kept us entertained with good touring tips and French histories.

Mont Ste. Michele your is a must!

Very informative, great humor, right on time. We visited Mont St. Michele tour and it was seamless. We had Shaed and Daniel as our guides. They were fantastic! Would definitely recommend!

Mont St Michel Tour

We had a lovely tour led by Daniel and Saeed. We had a good amount of time at Mont St Michel and the bus ride there was smooth, with two rest stops (one there, one back). The tour guides were very helpful giving tips for Paris and recommendations for your stay - going above and beyond. Would highly recommend! Thank-you again.

A great day trip

I had a great trip to Mont Saint Michel on this tour. Onome and Ash were great guides, and there was a good mix of information given and down time on the long ride to and from. Everything was on time and well organized. Well worth it if you only have a day to spare on a trip to Paris but really want to see Mont Saint Michel too.

Well worth the travel!

Mont Saint Michel is beautiful. This tour is on your own which is preferable because most will want to eat and shops at the places of their choice. The monastery is beautiful and the views are amazing. There are a lot of stairs so if you have issues climbing, make note.

We had a great time!!!

We had a great time at the trip, we had 2 guides they were very helpful. The whole trip was 12 hours, 4 hours to go,4 hours at mont michel and 4 hours coming back. The meeting point said Notre Dame, we almost went to the big Notre Dame praise the lord the the taxi we took could figure out it was a small Notre Dame, it was a little confusing.

Le Mont St. Michel is incredible

The guide Eric was fantastic, he provided very good descriptions of the history that led to Le Mont St. Michel being built. Would definitely recommend. If you are able, recommend walking to Le Mont St. Michel instead of taking the shuttle. The weather was perfect and it lets you experience how majestic it truly is when you walk. My wife and I had a blast.

Superb day tour to Mont Saint-Michel from Paris! Highlight of France!

I had an absolutely fabulous day tour to Mont Saint-Michel with City Wonders! The departure point and meeting time were communicated on the itinerary - the meeting point was very easy to locate and easily accessible by metro, bus and tram. The guide was there, as indicated, with a City Wonders flag. Check-in took no more than a minute, highly efficient. There are multiple tours going, so they separate you on either side of the sidewalk, based on which tour you are going on. We were a group of 40 people, which was a big group, but the group was expertly managed by our driver, and two guides - Asma and Deepa (or D for short). Our guides were terrific - very informative, funny and friendly! I really enjoyed their energy and flexibility with the tour. The bus was excellent, very large and spacious, comfortable for a large group of 40. Many, including myself, had two seats to themselves, which was nice! The bus was well equipped with working wifi, a toilet, air conditioning and bottled water and cold drinks for purchase. I didn’t use the toilet on board the bus, but I suspect it was clean and fully equipped. The bus in general was very clean and tidy! You are allowed to bring and consume food and drinks on the bus, with the exception of coffee. Likely because they don’t want passengers to spill hot beverages on themselves. As per French law, seatbelts were mandatory. We left on time, precisely at 7am. Approximately 2 hours into our drive, we made a rest stop at a cafe where you could use the toilet, purchase food and drinks as well as shop for souvenirs. We were given 30 minutes for the rest stop, which was more than enough time. Then we continued the remaining 2 hours to Mont Saint-Michel (drive time is 4 hours each way). We arrived at Mont Saint-Michel at 11:30am. We parked the bus in the tour bus parking lot and walked to the free shuttle buses that transport passengers to and from Mont Saint-Michel. The shuttle buses run every 6 minutes - very efficient. However, in the summer months, I suspect there would be long lineups. You can also walk to Mont Saint-Michel, it’s a pleasant walk, very flat and easy, which takes about 35-45 minutes depending on your pace. I took the shuttle bus there and returned on foot so I could take photographs from different vantages along the way. Upon arrival at Mont Saint-Michel (you are dropped off about halfway on the bridge), we did a guided village walk and then climbed the 370+ (if I recall correctly) steps to the Abbey. If you downloaded the app as per the instructions, you could listen to the audio guide on your cell phone, or you can just walk around the Abbey, like I did. Then we were given free time to explore - 2 hours or so, depending on when you decided to leave the group. After 4 hours of exploring, we met the bus at 3:30pm in the parking lot. We repeated our rest stop again on the return journey, allowing us to use the toilet and purchase food and drinks about two hours into the drive. We arrived back in Paris, at the designated drop-off point, just after 8:30pm (we hit Sunday evening traffic). Overall, I had an amazing tour. We were blessed with beautiful sunny skies the day of my tour. Despite this, it was cold and windy even in June, so do remember a jacket. I thought that Mont Saint-Michel was breathtaking and it was the highlight of my time in France. I do agree with other reviewers that it is a long drive to and from, however, it was worth every hour of the drive! Plus, I had wifi to keep myself entertained. The guides also used the latter half of the morning to give us history about Paris, Normandy and Mont Saint-Michel. You can always have a nap too, the drive was very smooth. Just a wonderful tour, I had a fabulous time, and I think Monday Saint-Michel is not to be missed if you’re in Paris! Thank you very much to the company for putting together for a great day trip, and to the driver and guides for perfect execution. If I ever find myself back in Paris, I would certainly join another one of your many tours!

Great Experience!

The experience was great I love the place and the guide was very helpful and knowledgeable. She made sure we knew the facts, responded our questions, and help us with everything that we need. I liked the fact that we have two drivers and we stopped very two hours to rest.

Takes your breath away … beautiful!

The place is breathtaking, literally, after a long walk and a thousand steps; but so well worth it! Our tour guide, Eric, was knowledgeable, kind, and friendly. So much history in one beautiful place!

Lots of walking and steps average tour

Learned new things this time around. The DDAY celebrations were amazing and parachuters. The tour bus parking is slightly confusing. Abbey entrance is worth it. LOTS OF WALKING AND STEPS!

Cancelled Tour

When they said the bus couldn't make it and the tour was cancelled. I know there were logistical issues due to D-Day ceremonies, but it seems more could have been done to work around issues that cropped up the day before.

Poor time management but great trip

Mont saint Michel was really awesome and worth the very long drive but was disappointed waking up and traveling to make it on time for 7am start and the tour bus did not show up for another hour so we all had to wait. I had read in previous reviews similar occurrences and even the tour guide said the bus is often late like that. Very disappointing organisation by the tour company, and of course reduces the time at the attraction to make up for their poor management. Tour guide was great as was the bus once it finally arrived.

Rude customer service

Astonishingly rude and condescending customer service. I could not find the meet-up place and was basically told I'm dumb. Then they left without me. Refused a refund and now I feel like I was just robbed of $300. I will never support this company again.

Awesome Mont St Michel trip

The abbey was pretty amazing. Tour guides did a good job of getting us where we needed to be on time. Trip from Paris was nice as well.

Worth Every Penny

STEPS! But take your time, you have plenty to navigate the crowds. The guides were fun to be around. It’s a long day but the “every two hour” stop is a nice addition. The abbey is beautiful. It’s just an overall excellent excursion from Paris. Highly recommended.

Mont St Michel, 5 stars; City Wonders, 0 stars

I read all these positive reviews about Daniel and Ash, Sid and Daniel, etc. and how they make the trip fun with engaging stories and how well organized it is. Well I guess it depends who your guide is. We got Daniel and Michelle (Mimi). It seems like Mimi is new, and Daniel let her handle all the commentary on the way there, which was unfortunate. Mimi spoke incredibly fast to give the history of France, Paris, Normandy, and Mont St Michel all without pauses, so that we couldn’t follow her. She also jumped around in history, back and forth from Vikings to Louis XI to William the Conqueror and back to the Vikings, sometimes talking about religious myths and relating them as historical facts. It was hard to follow her narration, and I’m grateful I already knew most of it and could look up the rest on the internet. This was not very well organized. Why do you stop at the same rest stop as the other bus from this tour company going to Normandy at the SAME time so the bathroom line is insane and there’s time only to go to the bathroom or get food, not both. You can coordinate that better so people have time to use the facilities and get a snack. There are plenty of rest stops so each bus could go to a different one. Worst of all, they lost people along the way. I got left behind on the steps up since they speed-walked up 140 steps lickety-split and didn’t wait for people who might climb stairs at normal walking pace or worse, need a break in the middle. I had read in other reviews that the guides were accommodating and made the climb doable. Not on my tour! No one explained that if you get separated from the group, you should go to the middle line at the top so you don’t get stuck in the left or right lines waiting to buy tickets while the whole group goes on ahead and leaves you there. When I finally got past the guards, Mimi just snapped at me that she had come back through the line and didn’t I see her flag? Maybe if you gave everyone stickers or something to identify who is on your tour, you wouldn’t lose people! Also maybe don’t argue with someone who was already upset. Not everyone came back to the bus on time and Mimi had to call out each name, having us raise our hands to figure out who was missing. This is another reason to use stickers or something to identify the members of your tour group. Also, there were 44 people on this tour, even though it’s advertised as maximum 40. All that said, Mont St. Michel is a one-of-a-kind experience that you should do if you have an extra day in Paris. Can’t say I’d recommend City Wonders, but I do recommend visiting the abbey.

Breathtaking and informative trip to Mont Saint Michel.

Ash was an amazing tour guide. He was very friendly, funny, informative, and helpful. Mont Saint Michel was beautiful and worth the bus ride. The shops and restaurants were fun to visit.

Definitely worth the ride out

Ash was great. Let's you rest on the way out and lots of information on the way there and back. There are alot of stairs so come prepared.

Fun Day Trip

Took a day trip with my friends, and it was wonderful! Our tour guide, Ash, was very good and friendly. Definitely recommend!

Steer clear, don't book this tour! You risk being stranded and stollen from by this company!!!!

This tour was awful and I don't recommend booking it. My son and I went on the tour earlier this week. The tour guides advised that we could leave personal items on the bus during our visit and to be back to the bus by 3:30. I left an iPad on the bus, along with a few other personal items. We exited the island to return to the bus at the time the tour guides advised to go to the shuttle buses which are supposed to run every 5 minutes. We waited and waited for the shuttle bus which delayed due to a D-Day parade. By the time we got to the tour bus, we found that they left my 9-year old son and I stranded 3 1/2 hours from Paris with no return ride. I was got in contact with the tour customer service to inform them of my belongings left on the bus and they worked to get in contact with the bus operator. They suggested I look for other bus companies to see if they were returning to Paris, offering no compassion or assistance returning to Paris. I then got help from the Mont Saint-Michel visitor center to book a train back to Paris, which tacked on an extra $200. I then reached back out to the tour customer service several more times to find out about my belongings left on the bus, only to be informed that they did not find them. So the trip ended with getting stranded, being forced to fork out more cash to get home, and having my iPad stollen by the tour guides and/or bus driver. After being forced to take the train home, I found it to be faster and better than the taking the tour. Rather than booking this tour, take the train from Paris to Rennes. From Rennes, you take a bus directly to Mont Saint-Michel. I will NEVER book anything with Viator again. They seem convenient, but it is not worth it and you will risk being stranded or stollen from.

Just as expected, relaxed, on time, and lovely.

It was lovely and everything was exactly what we expected. The tour bus was roomy and the guides were informed and plesent.

Read after booking

The Abby itself is spectacular, easy to see why it is a heritage site. If you want coffee there is a Starbucks in the Hyatt. You can't take the coffee on the bus. The rest area so is shared by many groups so be quick with your bathroom breaks. Download the self pace tour for the Abby and wear comfortable walking shoes and clothes.

Mont St Michel is nice! Bus ride, terrible!

Mont St Michel is a well preserved historical place. I would like it better if we stayed a bit longer to check out the stores and the village. But I understand that we have to follow the schedule. The bus needs updating especially the washroom, it was horrible! No water, (not flushing too),no light and the door was not locking properly. Also, if they can do seat number in the future so families can seat together rather than first come first serve. They should also just open the first door when going into the bus, because even if we lined up early, they are people behind us who went to the back door as soon as they opened it and got good seats and when we got in the bus, we all got separate seats and my firiend’s son has special needs, good thing there was a guy who switched out his seat for atleast one of the parents to be seated with the kid for this trip. It was very disappointing how unorganized the system is.

Wonder Saint Michel

Very nice place to visit full of history and architectural wonders. However be aware you need to be prepared to climbing the steps to get to the top.

Tour to Mont St. Michel

Great experience

Great guide Daniel and Mimi. They are very kind and explain in detail. From Paris to Mont Saint Michael, the journey is far, taking bus need almost 4 hour. The short visit time is the only drawback

Mont St Michel was magical

Mont St Michel was magical! The countryside of Normandy was beautiful. - out of a history picture book! I was transported to another time. Ash and Daniel were delightful, friendly and informative as tour guides.

Great!

The views were amazing. We had enough time to tour the entire abbey, take photos, eat lunch and shop around before heading back to the bus back to Paris. Danielle and Ash do a head count and confirm that everyone is back on the bus before they leave and have waited for the people running toward the bus if they can see them and account for them. So be sure to introduce yourself. They are friendly.
