An Excellent, Memorable Tour with Adam!

I had booked this tour for 6 of us before we traveled to Paris. I am a big fan of Take Walks and have always used them for tours when traveling. Our tour guide was Adam. On a scale of 1 to 10, Adam was a 12! I believe there were 15-16 people in our group. Adam immediately learned all our names and where we were from. He never forgot! He engaged us from the very beginning with his personality, sense of humor, passion for history and his wealth of knowledge. Adam is a natural born teacher. He brought the beautiful windows of Sainte-Chapelle to life by explaining in detail the stories told in the stain glass windows. He shared the fascinating history of the Conciergerie that was once a royal palace, a courthouse and a horrible prison where Marie-Antoinette was a prisoner. I learned so much from Adam. We were so lucky to have him as our tour guide. This was one of my very favorite tours. Thank you, Adam!

Great tour and well worth it.

Our guide was very knowledgeable, engaging and prepared. Loved being inside Sainte-Chappelle ! Unfortunately, the Notre Dame is still being rebuilt & therefore closed to tours but it was still nice to be outside and hearing of it's magnificent history.

Beautiful Medieval Tour

Great tour, so much history and beauty. Saint Chapelle’s stained glass was awe inspiring. Notre Dame wasn’t open but we walked around it.

This was the most enjoyable tour. Our guide was excellent! He was very knowledgeable and engaged the group as we went along.

Request Adam if you can

We loved it all. Adam was a great tour guide. Very knowledgeable and we learned a ton about French history. He was funny without being awkward, made us feel very comfortable. We did 6 or 7 tours throughout our time in Europe and this was by far our favorite. Give him a raise! I have friends that will be in Paris next year and I suggested this tour.

One of the most interesting and engaging tours I've ever taken

Me and my wife went with Adam, and it was simply excellent. Adam is very nice and an EXCELLENT storyteller. He can speak about the history of Paris for 3h nonstop and you will not get bored. He is engaging and very knowledgeable. He seemed to be having a lot of fun himself, which made everything even better. PLUS the Sainte-Chapelle is not a church that everyone visits when they are in Paris, but it is astonishingly beautiful. This tour is worth it for the Sainte-Chapelle alone. If you can, absolutely go on this tour.

What a great tour is!

Of all the tours we went on through our years of travelling, this was easily one of the best tours we ever had and this was thanks to Adam. He certainly has the knowledge, he definitely has the passion but more than anything else he knows how to tell a story. He makes it so engaging that he had the entire group hanging on his lips. He balances key dates with anecdotes to make big events memorable and History vivid. He does take you right back in time! We thoroughly enjoyed the tour with him and if it wasn’t for the fact that we were leaving the next day, we would have booked the other tour with him on the French Revolution. We highly recommend!

Wonderful tour!

This was one of the best tours I’ve been on and Adam was just terrific. I learned so much Sainte Chapelle and the Conciergie. It was also really nice to see the exterior of Notre Dame.

If you want to learn about French history, take this tour!!

Adam was great!

Adam’s storytelling was amazing - it was the first time I didn’t zone out during a 3-hour period, which happens to me quite often! Did not at all feel like a lecture, and questions were encouraged. Even beginners in history can follow, as it did not feel intimidating. Amazing part of Paris to discover, fun stories, wonderful delivery…you will not be bored!

Lovely Tour

Our guide Violette was fantastic! She’s incredibly knowledgeable and did a great job explaining the history of the sites (Notre Dame, Saint Chapelle, Concierge, etc.). This walking tour was lovely and would definitely recommend!

Informative.

This was just ok. The seats on the boat were not very comfortable. The narrator was informative but having the information repeated in French and English was a little redundant. I would have preferred an English only version to pick from.

Bad, bad, bad

Tour guide did not show up. I was told there was email. The app was not updated- the app is bad and the web portal is not working. Good tour when they happen. The technology and business processes are BAD. I’m out a lot of money

Highly recommend !

Wonderful tour. Our guide Abby was excellent. We learned a lot about the area and sites visited. It was an added bonus that the Seine tour could be done anytime.

Yes, Medieval to Revolutionary France history can rock your world

This was a good tour made fabulous by Adam, one of the only tour guides I have met with a Ph. D. This tour was informative with detailed information but more entertaining than any Netflix show. Team Adam was looking for our tattoos by the end of this amazing tour. Book this tour and pray you get Adam.

This is a WALKING tour with a voucher for a Seine River Cruise to be taken at a separate time.

Enjoyed the walking tour. Our guide Manuel was very informative. We did not realize the 3 hour tour did not include the time for the Seine River cruise so we weren’t really prepared for a 3 hour walk. We had been looking for a river cruise and the first thing listed on the tour title was the Seine River Cruise so that is the part we expected to be first.

Excellent guide and a fascinating tour ... boat cruise was the icing on the cake

Our guide (Violette) is perfectly fluent in English and really knows her stuff. We really appreciated the great information on the walk, and it definitely did not feel rushed. Getting the opportunity to go on a separate boat tour, AS WELL, was fantastic.

One of the best tours ever

Adam was an amazing guide! He was engaging and made the history come alive! My only regret is that we took the tourn on our last day in PARIS and we couldn't book another tour. HIGHLY recommend this tour!!!

I cannot stress this enough…”TEAM ADAM”. This tour was so much fun with unbelievable facts and fun stories. Adam is amazing. Easily one of the highlights of my time in Paris. Also we had kids on our tour and Adam was really good about addressing sensitive topics in a really neutral way. A million thanks!!

A Fabulous Experience!

We were part of “Team Adam” and loved every step of this three hour tour. His breadth of knowledge was impressive but he made it such fun! Every person in our group was delightfully engaged, from a ten year old to a gloomy teen, to a reluctant attendee. I’d gladly plan another trip to Paris, if I could get another tour —any tour— with him! Thank you, Adam!

Ask for Adam!

This tour is two parts: Walking tour and Seine River cruise. For the walking tour, Adam was a phenomenal guide and is what earned this five star rating. His passion for the history of the area is evident in his retelling of the key events that transpired in the areas we visited. Loved every minute! The river cruise (Adam was not part of this) was okay. It was interesting the see the city from the water, but overall, it wasn’t anything special. I couldn’t hear the narrator.

A fabulous tour discovering Paris with Adam! Highly recommend!!!

Our walking tour with Adam was one of if not the best tours my husband and I have ever enjoyed and certainly has been the highlight of our ten-day trip in France! The extent and depth of Adam's knowledge and ability to convey it to us in captivating, memorable and fun ways was highly impressive, as was his way of making each person feel they were a valued member of "Team Adam". If we are ever in Paris again, we definitely will look for tours Adam guides again, and will be recommending this tour with him to family and friends travelling to Paris.

Amazing tour guide!

Violette is an AMAZING guide. She is incredibly knowledgeable on the history and architecture, but also shares fun stories about historical scandals, recent updates, and anything else related to the monuments or city areas you’re in. She’s also quite personable, making the tour very relevant and interesting for all participants. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour (or any other she leads). 10/10!

Amazing tour. Our guide Adam was very engaging and made the tour very enjoyable. He was even able to secure a private tour Saint Chappell even though it was closed to the public.

It was great so information on the history manny was amazing guide funny and well knowledge , the sites was great to see it was jam packed and it take 3 hour but worth it you have the time and the history was great to learn

Excellent tour guide,...

Excellent tour guide, beautiful place. Wonderful visit. Highly recommend. If the line is long to get into the Basilica, walk around until it goes down and don’t miss the smaller chapel across the way. Beautiful.

Great tour of Ike de la cite

Avi was a very knowledgeable guide and the pace of his tour was just right. We learned a lot about the history of Paris and notable figures.

So glad we took this tour

We took this tour our first afternoon in Paris and are so glad we did. The tour covered several items we wanted to see with "skip the line" tickets and a flexible ticket for the river cruise. The price wasn't much more than we would have paid for things indivdually and we didn't have to book individual tickets. However, the real value of this tour was our guide Adam. He was so knowledgeable and engaging. He has a great sense of humor, so we had fun and learned so much! He put things into context that explained the history in a way that you understood the "why" of it. Wished we could have had Adam with us everywhere we went to explain things. A question would come up and one of our kids would say "Adam would know that" or "Adam would probably have a good story for that". Indeed he would.

History of the iles de la Cite and St. Louis, Notre Dame, the Conciergerie and St. Chapelle

Adam was amazing! Fascinating info and details, obviously the result of a lot of study and preparation. Couldn't imagine amore worthwhile way to spend three hours in Paris. As a first time visitor, I feel very well indoctrinated in some of the city's most significant history.

Tour was Canceled

Our fully paid tour was canceled by the tour guide the night before our tour was scheduled. It has been one week since they canceled the tour and despite requesting a refund we have not received one.

Learn lots of new things!

Our guide was very informative about the history of Paris and added interesting details to our walk. It was a beautiful day…thoroughly enjoyed it!

This tour is a great value! Loved the tour, the stained glass and the river cruise!

What a great value this tour is! It’s a small group and you have a great guide who shows you around for a couple of hours. The ticket to Sainte Chapelle is included as is a river cruise on the Seine! We walked around the islands and the guide talked about Notre Dame, of course, as well as the history of the area. She pointed out landmarks and was a wonderful storyteller. Our final tour stop was at Sainte Chapelle to see the amazing stained glass windows! The security to get into Sainte Chapelle was super-strict probably because the courthouse is part of the same complex. We received vouchers to take the Seine river cruise from Pont Neuf with Vedette. Because we had friends wanting to join us on the cruise part only, I had asked this tour company on an online chat about which cruise company they use and was given the wrong information that it was Bateaux Parisiens. Vedette cruises from Pont Neuf and Bateaux Parisiens cruises from near the Eiffel Tower (A fair distance from Pont Neuf/Ile de La Cite) - at least when we went in November. Luckily, our friends decided to wait to book the tickets until we actually got ours so no harm done. The boat wasn’t full and our friends easily got tickets at the last minute. We went on the cruise that left around 4:30pm and so, half the cruise was while the sun was setting and the rest was during twilight. It was just beautiful.

A great afternoon!

Gemma was a great guide. We were the only ones on her tour (we went on a very cold winter day) and she still put everything into it. This tour was memorable and I felt very familiar with the area once it was done. She pointed out several places that we went back and revisited, including the Shakespeare & Company book store. Of course it is sad to only see Notre Dame from a distance but it can’t be helped. The optional boat tour was my least favorite part. The guide had a thick accent that was hard to understand and the sound quality was faint. It didn’t help that the boat was full of loud school children.

Highly recommend this tour!

Julia was extremely knowledgeable, engaging, and personable. She brought history to life as we wandered through the streets of Paris. We then had an opportunity to spend time independently in Sainte Chapelle and to schedule a Seine cruise at a time that was convenient for us. I would highly recommend this tour!

Heart of Paris Walk

Our guide Gemma was really knowledgeable and fun. We heard great stories of Old Paris and saw the outside of Notre Dame and explored Ile de la Cite and a short walk on ile st Louis. Tour included inside access to Sainte Chapelle which has beautiful stained glass. We enjoyed this tour very much and it was a great start to our time in Paris.

Terrible- inaccurate meeting location

We never met up with a guide, because the meeting place was described in accurately. The guide never contacted us by phone, even though we called they provide a telephone number and we were told the guide would call us with another meeting place.

Heart of Paris Walk

This is a comprehensive tour that does not take up the entire day. Very interesting details about Paris’ beginnings. Great stroll through the heart of Paris!

Terrific walking tour!

Our tour guide, Caitlin, was wonderful! She kept the group engaged during with entire tour, sharing lots of historical information and personal insights! Highlights of the tour included the tour of Notre Dame's exterior and its restoration and Sainte-Chapelle! Great tour!
