I am so very glad that I booked this private tour of the Louvre! Our guide, Marijke, was simply incredible! She had a thorough knowledge of the museum, and had a basic tour in mind for us. Our group of 4, including a Cambridge professor, was full of questions. Each of us had a specific painting, sculpture or artist that we wanted to see. Additionally, different random works of art caught our attention and we all wanted to stop, look and interpret. Marijke was so patient and helpful! She explained works and artists that she knew, but was happy to just stand, analyze and wonder alongside us when we were intrigued by something that she had not studied before. We saw every single thing that we wanted to see, we were never rushed and the entire tour, lasting 3 hours, was just the correct amount of time! When the tour ended we all commented on what a great experience it was. It simply could not have been better! I would HIGHLY recommend this tour. It is worth every penny!

Fantastic Private Tour with Olek

How do rate beyond Exceeded our Expectations!! Olek was amazing, passionate and extremely knowledgeable (educated) about the Louvre, from its history, architecture and art. We started outside with an overview of the architectural history and then entered away from the crowds. Hint - January is a brilliant month to visit the Louvre. There are no crowds. The Mona Lisa gallery ALWAYS has crowds, that was not our focus. But what made this experience is the passion and fun Olek brings his tour, he continuously checks in with you (it was just my husband and I) about what you know or may know and fills in the holes with facts and fun. We saw a lot, much more than I expected, but never felt rushed. He gave us time to observe. I have avoided the Louvre for 20 years but so happy I arranged this tour and got Olek. I will definitely book him and this tour again!!

Louvre & Opera private tour

Wonderful, wonderful tour and guide

Such an amazing tour with a knowledgeable, friendly, and very patient guide named Humberto. There were many good points, but the main thing was how responsive he was to what we wanted to see/learn about. Humberto asked us what we wanted to see before entering and he worked those areas in while also broadening our horizons a bit by taking us to other areas as well. We’ve been home for over a month and are still talking about what we learned. Cannot recommend highly enough.

The Louvre is huge: You need a guide.

Mallae did a good job with a very difficult subject : the Louvre. It is huge. But she got us to all the best sites and helped us focus our time.

Amazing tours of the Louvre with My Private Paris!

Our private tour of the Louvre was amazing! Romaine provided insightful and interesting information and historical context. His personal attention made navigating the Louvre seamless and enjoyable. We also toured the Louvre in December of 2022 with Victor who was also incredible and brought the Louvre to life for our family. His attention to our teenagers made the tour more enjoyable for all, tailoring information to capture their interest. I can’t imagine touring the Louvre without a guide from My Private Paris!

Only way to see the Louvre

The skip the line was the best way to go. Our tour guild Marc was fantastic. His knowledge and story telling on the history was great. With the skip the line we were able to get right in and for the first hour seemed as we almost had the place to ourself. Upon exit there must have been thousands of people waiting for hours to get in. I highly recommend to do the skip the line.

A splurge that worth the money

This was our second trip to Paris. I booked a private tour with MyPrivateParis.com for the Louvre and Opera House and Quentin was our guide. We had been to the Louvre before as well and seen the highlights that all other tours show you, but I wanted to see other points of interest. We had not been to the Opera House previously. Quentin was our guide and I instantly liked him (which was great seeing that we were spending 7 hours together). He was knowledgeable and interesting and helped me understand and view the paintings in a different way. I also learned more history of the Louvre itself that I hadn't previously known. We had lunch with him, which I enjoyed very much as well. The best guides are those you feel like you want to be friends with afterwards. Off to the Opera House, he took us on some off roads to show points of interest as well as some knowledge of Paris architecture. The Opera House was amazing. I can't imagine visiting here or the Louvre without a guide! This tour was early in our week in Paris and every tour we had afterwards, I kept comparing what I heard with them to what Quentin told us - and determining that he was right. The communication with the company was excellent, Quentin was excellent, well worth the extra money!

A wonderful tour

Marijke was absolutely phenomenal. She made each work of art come to life in a very fun and broad overview of all the Louvre has to offer. She was definitely one of the best art guides I have had.

Perfect Paris Visit

Fantastic Tour with Emilie. Her understanding, insight and explanations were spot on for our group of four. We were expertly guided through the large crowds to focus on our priorities (which she asked us about prior to entering the museum). Her understanding and explanations of the museum made our visit wonderful. I will recommend MPP to my friends before they visit Paris.

We felt like family

Charlotte, Elliot, & Christina made us feel like family and locals, too! My first time in Paris was an awesome experience! We felt like we were being shown the ropes personally by family. We were able to navigate, successfully, like locals afterwards. We even found a favorite haunt, we became regulars, and like the tv show 'Cheers,' everyone knew our name. It gets no better! We took multiple tours!

Excellence in every way

My Private Paris is an excellent tour company - our family of four booked two tours, Laure was our guide for the Rodin and D'Orsey museums, and Florence our guide for the Louvre. Both were wonderful and very knowledgable. Both first asked us about our interests and recent experiences - the Louvre is HUGE and its impossible to see everything, so Florence wanted to be sure we saw what interested us most. We skipped all of the (extremely long) lines and took shortcuts thru the crowds that it seemed only she knew of - she also was extremely accommodating in finding the pathway with the fewest stairs as two of our family were having some mobility issues. Top notch guided tours

My Private Paris is an amazing company to work with. We were a family of 4 adults and booked two private tours- (1) Guided tour of Louvre and (2) Versailles palace with Marie Antoinette's Hamlet and petite Trianon. The booking process was seamless l, thanks to Alexander. He also went the extra mile and gave me advice on my hotel booking and the metro system, which I very much appreciated. Our guide for the Louvre was Soline. She was amazing and did an awesome job of covering all the major highlights of the Louvre very efficiently while navigating the crowds. My personal favorites were the winged victory, psyche's revival, the Da Vinci paintings (besides the Mona Lisa) and the crown Jewels. The different rooms in the Louvre were so awesome inspiring, such as the Apollo room. Soline made sure we had sufficient time to observe and absorb the brilliance of everything we saw and gave us the right amount of information for every attraction. Charlotte was our guide for Versailles. She was brilliant and so passionate about Mary Antoinette. While we certainly enjoyed visiting the opulent palace, we absolutely loved the gardens, Hamlet and petite Trianon. Charlotte was very engaging and we had a lovely day in Versailles. I can't wait to visit Paris again and we will definitely reach out to My Private Paris for guided tours. Their People are top notch and I can be confident that we will receive a high quality tour with them and would gladly recommend them to all my friends.

Louvre Tour with Doina

Our guide Doina was wonderful, so knowledgeable about not only the art, but -- equally as important -- knowledgeable about how best to navigate the museum based on what we wanted to see. Fantastic experience!

Small group tour was just my wife and I

My wife and I were met by our guide, Na, outside a nearby hotel and our small group consisted of just the two of us. It was wonderful! We were given earbuds so we could listen to her commentary of the artwork. Na gave us the history of a multitude of pieces in addition to the Louvre itself. We saw the highlights of the museum and at the end of the tour were allowed to continue on our own, if we chose.

WOW - Amazing -Don't look any where else - JUST BOOK THIS!

Hands down, the best way to see Verailles. I looked around at other tours. I was able to schedule a video conf with Alex and get all of my questions answered in one easy video chat. He sent some tour suggestions (1/2 vs full day) He sent one that was Queer Perspectives in Versailles Palace and Gardens 1/2 day. We took a chance and booked it. A-MAZ-ING! Our guide was gay and she had a PHD in history and has been studying Queer history for over 15 years. She knew a lot and gave it all to us. It wasn't cheezy or weird they were just all facts! Alex had a driver pick us up in a Mercedes and drop us off at the front door of Versailles. We lucked out with good weather, a GREAT tour guide and an trip to Versaille that we will never forget. We had a wonderful tour with William around the Louvre! He was very knowledgeable and presented a thoughtfully planned out guide around the wonders of the Louvre. Certainly appreciated that it was just our family and could therefore tailor the tour to our needs that day!

Great experience with an awesome guide

An excellent tour, worth every penny and then some! Booking was straightforward and all instructions were clear. Our guide was a charismatic young art enthusiast named Hugo. Hugo was very prompt, detail oriented, chivalrous and very well prepared for the tour. The tour had several focus points: ancient (Greek and Roman) sculpture, Renaissance paintings and West European art of the XVIII-XIX century. Hugo provided in depth analysis of many treasured Louvre art pieces including the Venus de Milo, Winged Victory of Samothrace and Leonardo’s Mona Lisa. It was a very memorable tour that left a deep impression and when I close my eyes, I can see all of the aforementioned art pieces in detail. The tour was a treat - five stars!

Great Louvre tour!

My husband and I booked 3 tours with My Private Paris and everything went without a hitch! Guides were knowledgeable and fun. Manu, our Louvre guide, had a great sense of humor and an interesting background. It was our first time to the Louvre and he a did a great job with showing us the highlights, as well as a nice overview of the different periods exhibited at the Louvre. I would use them again!

A must do when visiting the Louvre and Musee D’Orsay

This skip the line tour was the perfect way to easily see the main works that everyone comes to the Louvre and Musee D’Orsay to see. Our guide, Victor, was an obvious expert and scholar of the Louvre. He shared his expertise thoroughly yet within a half day experience that allowed us to feel like we effectively learned about the specific works and how they connected with each other through the various time periods within the history of art. He had a friendly personality and was incredibly engaging. We all loved this tour and found it to be a highlight of our entire trip.

3 full days of tours and Activities

My wife and I did 3 full days of tours and activities with My Private Paris. Being our first time in Paris, we wanted to get the most of our time. Booked them again, not disappointed

I have used My Private Paris before for Musee d'Orsay and was really happy with them. I wanted to visit the Louvre using them, but was disappointed to see on their website there was no availability. I looked into other private tour providers, but in many cases it wasn't clear whether you needed to have a separate tickets yourself and whether it actually did skip the lines or not. I ended up contacting My Private Paris directly to see if they could help in anyway. I was delighted to hear they could arrange a guide for us. We met our guide, Soline, outside the entrance. She led us in through a side entrance with no wait. She was knowledgeable and did great job in doing sort of a highlights tour. Reality is the place is so huge with half a day you just scratch the surface. I really highly recommend using My Private Paris.

Book It!

Firstly, I’d like to thank Bertrand for his excellent customer service whilst booking. And thank you Gabrièle for your excellent communication during our stay in Paris. Doina was a warm, courteous and informative guide on our tour of Versailles. She was also patient and adaptive when my husband’s golfing knee injury started flaring up mid tour. We really enjoyed our tour despite his pain and the heat and she was lovely. We also appreciated the courtesy of our driver and his immaculate Mercedes on our ride to and from the hotel to Versailles. I’m sorry, I have forgotten his name. And then, Flora was an whole other level of attention for our tour of the Louvre. The heat was pulsating, as was my husband’s knee and she was a delightful distraction from both. Bertrand, reached out to her for me when the website said they were fully booked and it was kismet. She is funny and charming and understood that we didn’t need to see the highlights (i.e. the Mona Lisa) and took us to the coolest rooms (a/c and empty people wise) and entertained us with her knowledge and wit. We are very grateful and will happily send our friends their way and will book again ourselves. I found this service through TripAdvisor and am so glad for it I want to share. We are not “tour” people but, enjoyed both our Versailles and Louvre experiences with our fabulous guides so much, that I wanted to be sure to encourage our fellow members to book through this company!

A wonderful Paris experience!

We had five great tours/experiences with five fantastic guides, each one having extensive knowledge of Paris. All of our guides were engaging and accommodating. Highly recommend! And will certainly work with this group again the next time I’m in Paris.

Louvre overwhelming when hot

Louvre is still crowded nightmare. Nice to skip line, have background knowledge, no map reading, and best toilets. Be prepared to be overwhelmed still.

Don't hesitate to book this tour

This was a wonderful tour with Charlotte. She focused on the most important/desirable works of art and the history OF the Louvre. We loved her energy and depth of knowledge. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour to anyone. You will not be disappointed. There was a lot of walking, so make sure you are prepared for that. We did not have any limitations so the pace was fantastic. We booked 3 tours with My Private Paris. They were all absolutely wonderful.

More educated / Worth it!

Francesca was a wonderful guide! Her knowledge of art history and the works in the Museums made the trip so much more worth it. You can’t really appreciate some of the works of art to the fullest unless you know the history. She was patient with our questions and welcomed each one. I highly recommend a tour with her. You will come out more appreciative of the art, as well as more educated in general!

Excellent!!!!

Wonderful guided tour with Francet!! He tailored the tour to include all the things the kids and I wanted to see and some wonderful surprises we didn't know existed!! Francet's understanding of the art and history as well as the layout and hidden gems in this massive museum made it a great experience! The Louvre is so big that we could have wandered it for weeks and still not have explored it fully. Haveing Francet guide us through and point out the highlights and tie in stories of the history of the building and the pieces of art really made this great. Francet's thoughtful tailoring of this tour to excite the kids about the many facets of what we saw, change the plan a little to find us a cafe inside the museum (we got a little lost on our way and didn't stop for breakfast as planned so the kids were a bit hungry), and knowledge of what and where things that would be meaninful to our small family made this a truly great experience! I'm so glad we went on this tour with Francet!

They made our Paris Vacation

This was our first trip to Paris and we were very apprehensive about using a tour company. My Private Paris met or exceeded all expectations. Ask for Romain and the Louvre Private Tour. Louvre - A Remarkable Bespoke Tour

Bertrand responded to us promptly by email, after we had registered on the easy-to-use My Private Paris website. He eased our minds concerning flexibility if COVID caused a delay in our trip. Bertrand then worked closely with us to arrange a private tour of the Louvre with our requested guide, Laure. We had read a great review of one of Laure's previous tours, yet, this tour still exceeded our expectations. We had provided Bertrand with a requested list of ten works in the Louvre collection that we wished Laure to describe and interpret during our private tour. Our list ranged from some of the Louvre's most popular works, to some works much more obscure. With her tremendous depth of art history knowledge, she tailored our tour to interpret the requested list of works, matching the information she provided to our level of knowledge, thus resulting in a remarkable bespoke tour. She provided a wonderful world cultural journey through the Louvre along a far-flung path, a path required in order to cover the unique subset of the total collection on our list. Without breaking a sweat (or we suspect needing to do much homework), Laure optimized our travel route through the enormous museum. She also added several works along the way which acted as segues among the various art genres and time histories of the works on our list. She interpreted the artworks and connected-the-dots between world history and French history, and she made connections between France's historical and current place in the world. The result lead to an interpretation which provided a glimpse into the soul of the French people.

Great tour easy to follow

We are not art people but we wanted to tour the Louvre. Lucien was patient and explained pieces that interested us the most. He was very accommodating when we wanted to see other parts of the museum.

I had the chance to take this private tour with Lucien. Lucien is a guide who knows what he's talking about. He had a lot of amusing stories between more historical facts ; the tour was very informative and Lucien answered our questions every time we were a bit confused with all the chronology. Excellent Tour

My husband and I took this private tour with Luchien. We met across the street at the back side of the Louvre, and entered from this direction. This was very informative, as we learned a lot about the building that we wouldn't have if we'd gone straight in through the main entrance. Skipping the line is worth the price alone, but having someone to guide you to the main attractions, tell the correct historic background, and generally know their way around this massive museum was fantastic. I highly recommend this tour, you will not regret it!

Exceptional Tour!

Olek took us around the Louvre and shared his passion for all things Paris, and especially the Louvre with us. His enthusiasm and story telling ability enraptured us and his encyclopedic knowledge was amazing. He showed us the "pop stars" of the museum, but also plenty of hidden treasures. I could not recommend this tour with Olek enough. Next time we come back to Paris, we are going to set up another tour with Olek and set our sights to see other hidden treasures.

Louvre private tour

We had a private tour of the Louvre with Laure. The museum was very crowded with many people lined up to see the Mona Lisa. Neither of us was interested in waiting to see that particular painting (we have seen it twice before), but I wanted to see Dürer's "Self-Portrait Holding a Thistle". Laure was able to get us past the lineup and into the gallery with the Dürer! Afterwards she took us on an excellent tour and offered a lot of information. There is a lot to see at the Louvre and Laure was a great guide with an impressive knowledge of many different time periods and mediums. We really enjoyed walking through with her and felt we learned a lot! Well worth it. Thank you Laure and all the best with your continuing studies!!

We can not say enough how we enjoyed our tour with Lucien, he was on time (in fact early) was extremely knowledgeable and got us into the Louve extremely fast and to see the Monna Lisa with little wait. We enjoyed every moment with him and recommend him highly.

Very good tour of the highlights of the museum history and the artwork inside

We went on the ~3 hour tour of the Louvre. Our guide, Laure, was a grad student studying art and was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about both the history of the museum the and the art. She did a nice job giving us the background on various artists and their relevance to the time period or how it related to the Louvre. She also kept the touring moving and minimized the crowds despite it being peak season. I would highly recommend My Private Paris if you are looking for a low key but insightful tour.

So much to see, and so little time!

Lucien was very understanding of our transit challenges. He explained the plan and got us quickly through the biggest features of the Louvre. He deftly navigated the crowds to get us into a space where he could share his knowledge and insights of the specific artwork as well as the general artistic themes represented. He engaged our 3 kids in the discussion, even dealing with our 13 year old’s issues with artwork missing undergarments.

Secrets of the Lourve

Our tour guide Lucien was OUTSTANDING!! He even waited on us when Paris traffic kept us from arriving on time. His knowledge of the museum was comprehensive and he made it fun for all of us (9) from the ages of 11 to 50. We wish we could have spent the whole day with him and would highly recommend requesting him if you go!!

Florent Was Amazing!!!

Seriously do yourself a favor and take any tour with this company as soon as you get to Paris and request Florent if he is available. Not only was the tour amazing, Florent gave us some useful insight on general travel in Paris. Navigating the Louvre without Florent would have been intimidating. He walked us all around the surrounding area giving us history of the Louvre (which I enjoyed just as much as the art), then took us to some amazing pieces with such rich history. We also took the Eiffel Tower tour with him the same day. Again, it made our experience that much more amazing. Book this experience now!!!!

Instructive Louvre Tour

Quentin met us just outside the Louvre and we proceeded to walk through the courtyard to the entrance. He is very knowledgeable and covered considerable time on the history and architecture of the Louvre. We made it through the lines and security quite promptly. Once inside he described several of the highlights that we saw in the time that we were there including several famous paintings and of course the Mona Lisa. He also showed us some areas not as congested which was nice. All in all a great tour. One suggestion would be to spend less time in the history and description of each painting and more time in shear volume of attractions seen. However, this might be exactly what some might want.
