Louvre Museum Masterpieces Skip-the-Line and Small-Group Tour

Our tour lady was amazing. I highly recommend this tour as she explained very interesting details about certain pieces of art that we otherwise would have never known. There were so many people there and the fact she is allowed use a back elevator for their tours was nice. She was so knowledgeable it was amazing. We would have never known details by going on our own.

Wonderful for a family

Our guide was very knowledgeable and kind. She kept attempting to include the kids and make them learn about all the things. She showed us everything and offered to take our picture anytime we wanted. She was wonderful to have especially with such a large museum.

Better stay home

Took this tour with my 2 kids - aged 21 and 23. I was hoping to expose them to the Louvre and learn a couple of interesting tidbits about art in 2 hours. We ended up getting a guide we could barely understand (due to her accent) that replayed a script that was so poorly written that we literally struggled collectively to recall one interesting thing shared. I would not recommend

Informational and exiting tour

There was a lot of information shared with us on both well know artworks such as the Mona Lisa and also lesser known ones such as the astrologer. Along with the great amount of information shared with us our tour guide (junko) also did her best to show us all of the rooms she could in the amount of time she had to guide us. Overall the tour was an amazing experience which provided us with more information on many artworks and also allowed us to view the artworks with a new perspective.

Huge crowds

Our guide was able to help us avoid the huge crowd at the main entrance by taking us to an alternate entrance. Be prepared for HUGE crowds. The Mona Lisa is roped off, so you can't get very close to this small panting. It takes a long time to even get to the rope because 75% of the people are working to get just the right selfie with the painting! There is an overwhelming amount of artwork here. It may be best to decide if there is a certain time period or type of work that you want to see and make that your focus.

Getting a guide

Very good guide,she really knew the museum well and the paintings and sculptures.the museum is well worth the visit.having a guide was great, quick and to the point.

French art covered in three hours

Anna was not only very knowledgeable but her story telling style helped bring history to life. Her pace throughout the entire tour was appropriate for the material covered.

Perfect length tour

Great tour and guide. She found us even though all of the streets around the meeting location were closed for filming. The 1.5-2 hour length was perfect. Definitely go in the morning. Our tour began at 9:15 and it was much more crowded at 11 when we finished. Group entrance also greatly reduced waiting in line.

Amazing and overwhelming!

I enjoyed the entire tour but particularly loved hearing the history of many of the items. Our guide was very knowledgeable!

Highly Reccommended!

We arrived at the meeting point and was immediately welcomed by the guide, Oliver. He was very well informed on the Louvre and all the art within. Oliver was well educated and it showed in his presentation. Skip the line entrance is the way to go. It was very crowded and in parts hard to manouver, but that was just a minor problem. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Great small tour with lots of insight from the Tour Guide

This is a small group tour in a very large crowded museum. The guilde was very knowledgable about the museum and the artwork shown. I really injoyed his insight. We were also able to explore the basement of the museum viewing the beginning of the Louve which I had no idea about. The only thing I would include is maybe an extra 1/2 hour or maybe a small list of suggestions for art we recommended to explore on our own.

Sadly we couldn’t use the...

Sadly we couldn’t use the tickets a different day - annoying also the baking class was very proactive and sent several reminders which was helpful - we didn’t get any for this tour and therefore missed our time

Grateful guide found us and brought us on a great tour.

We had a problem finding the meet-up location. I was afraid we missed out on tour. But the tour guide was kind enough to call me and we worked out where I was and how to get to him. We really appreciated his going out of his way to find us. The only disappointment I had with the tour was I thought we were going to actually see the Mona Lisa but he brought us into the room with the Mona Lisa and told us about it. If we wanted to see it we needed to stand in the queue. This was at the end of the tour.

Wonderful guide fabulous tour!

The guide Felipe was very good and had lots of information to provide us. Although we walked 18,000 steps in 4 hours, Felipe paced us at a tolerable pace since most of us were older. The masterpieces were incredible to say the least. The entire Louvre is just mind blowing in size. Nothing compares to it!

A great tour of the Louvre

Skip the line option for a group of six was the best choice. The tour guide Olivia was very knowledgeable; I learnt a lot from her. It was great to have a chance to explore the Louvre after the guided tour on my own for as long as my endurance allowed. Svetlana from Tampa

A Walk Through Time

It was a very educational experience that broight me back to sitting in college taking Art History 101. The tour guide definitely knows her stuff and communicated effectively. I recommend for anyone interested in the Louvre. She was a marvellous guide. I would do it again in different parts, so she may teach me more. Love it.

Worth it for the expertise of the guide alone

Loved this excursion. The Louvre is so huge and hectic that paying to have a guide to meet you across the street and walk you through the line the. Spend 2 hours showing you the highlights was so worth it. My 28 year old daughter learned so much and said it was better than going into the Louvre in your own. Our guide was sooooo funny too. She made jokes and taught us so much about the basics of sculpture and painting and periods in art history. Had taken an audio tour the day before at Musee d’Orsay and having a guide was much more informative. Toward the end she asked if anyone had any particular art they wanted to see. Very thoughtful and helpful. She was terrific!!

Absolutely Magnificent, The One, The Only, The Louvre

One of the World's Great Museums. The Louvre needs no introduction. A treat for the Intellect and a Feast for the Eyes. Many of the Worlds Great Masterpieces are Residing here with many more are stored in her Vast Basements. Our family was very fortunate to receive V.I.P. access to the Basement. There we saw works of Art not seen by the masses. Sadly we were not allowed to photograph down there.

Priceless Louvre

The Louvre is huge and cannot be seen in just one day. However, the highlights tour is worth it. Sergio, our guide, was very knowledgeable and talked about the histories of the highlighted masterpieces.

Excellent Tour Guide and experience!!

Our guide Olivia was absolutely the best. I highly recommend taking this tour with her. She took us to some of the most interesting parts of the Louvre and was extremely knowledgeable. She moved us at a great pace where we were able to see and enjoy the museum without feeling overwhelmed.

Worth the skip the line but be ready to speed walk

It’s worth it to skip the line and get right in. You learn some really interesting things about some of the art that you wouldn’t know with out the guide. But it’s a super fast tour. Bring skates. We flew through it. Keep your head on a swivel. After the tour you can stay as long as you want so you can go back through it more slowly if you’re so inclined.

Small group tour

We both very much enjoyed this small group tour. Our guide met us promptly, and got us into the Louve and set up with earbud and a receiver some we could hear direction and information he was giving. This tour was 2 hours and I wish it was 30 mins to an hour longer. All said the small group tour is the way to go!!! Thanks again Richard and Genia

Its a must if your new to the Louvre

We had a great tour with Olivia - she was informative, interesting and very passionate about the paintings and sculptures that she showed us. It's the only way to navigate one's fist trip to the Louvre. I Highly recommend this tour.

Disappointed

We tried to meet the 9:15 tour but had trouble finding the starting point. At 9:10 am we spoke with Viator. The person said he had no GPS and could not help us (we were on the right street just could not find the building). He refused to contact the tour guide or offer an alternative meeting spot. We found it 10 minutes later but they left without us The Viator representative refused to reschedule us for an alternative tour or refund us. He was extremely rude.

Awful

DO NOT TAKE A TRIP WITH THIS COMPANY!!! We signed up for a Louvre tour and was given a starting point outside the museum without an address on the storefront. We spoke with the tour operator to try to find the starting point but he was unable to direct us. We found the starting point 10 minutes after the meeting time but the tour had left and would not wait for us or let us find the tour. We lost $134 after contacting and asking for help.

Great guides make great toura

Loved the tour, our guide Olivia was great! We booked the small group skip the line tour but it ended up just being my wife and I. Olivia took us through the typical highlights everyone knows about, but also showed us some of her favorites that aren't as well known that deserve to be seen. She was very knowledgeable about the history of the museum as well as knowing so much of the history behind the artwork. Would definitely recommend taking this tour!

Great Tour!

Olivia was fantastic! Our group was small and Olivia had perfect information and was so pleasant to listen to ! I am so glad we did this tour because we never would have found our way around so quickly ….. highly recommend

Well worth it

I had an overnight stopover in Paris and wanted to go to the Louvre. Unfortunately online tickets were all sold out but I managed to book this tour at short notice. I'm glad I did and in hindsight, this was much better than going by myself. It was a small group tour - 4 in our group, max of 6. Our guide was Julie who was very knowledgable and had studied art history at the Louvre school. She took care not to overload us with too much detail though if I had known at the beginning that she's an art historian, I would have asked more questions! We went through the "secret entrance" which was impressively quick with no queues. Julie took us to a number of masterpieces over about 2 hours and we had the option of staying longer which I took up. I would do this tour again when I'm next in Paris!

Louvre Museum tour

The tour is a great introduction to the louvre and worthwhile if you are going for the first time. It hits the highlights which given the size of the museum is all you can do in the two hours. Our guide was knowledgeable and provided us with interesting background on the art and the Louvre museum.

Awesome guide and experience

The guide was very experienced and great in that he took us through all the highlights of the museum in a very engaging way. We had previous experiences where we were either alone visiting a museum or with another guide and this one surpasses everything. With an 11 year old as well as 2 adults who already had visited the Louvre before it is a great achievement as there was something for everyone. The pace was very dynamic with no lost time but enough attention given to a few select pieces. There is no way we could have achieved the same by ourselves. A very warm thank you to the guide who made all the difference.

Great experience - Tour guide Hao was excellent

Great experience overall! Our tour guide Hao was excellent — extremely knowledgeable and friendly. She made the tour interactive and regularly checked in to see if there was anything specific we were interested in. She also offered to take pictures of everyone throughout the tour. Would highly recommend to anyone in the future. Also, would recommend choosing a time as early as possible. We did the 9:15 am tour and the museum already seemed very busy.
