Pretty good

Loved to see the castles but wine tasting could have been more thorough or explained in booking. Bus was great bit wine tasting needed chairs and to be in a bigger room

Solid tour

Goran and Emma were great for our tour. Great stories about France and the castles. We went to Chambord and Chenonceau and it was easy and pleasant.

Enjoyable tour

Emma and Gorn were wonderful hosts and the tour was well curated. We undertook the tour as a family and thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of Loire and Blois.

the guides were very entertaining and helpful, Emma and Goran helped us navigate the city as well learn about how to navigate on our own after. they knew a lot about the history of the area and it was fun as well as educational and beautiful

Highly recommended

Great tour, great guides. No rush, very enjoyable. Definitely worth the money. However, the step out of the bus is very high. The driver knew he could lower the bus, saw me struggling four times, and when I told him that he should have a little step stool, he answered that he could lower the bus IF I asked him. Otherwise, it was a great tour.

Beautiful day of driving and castles

Beautiful day touring the Loire Valley! We had plenty of time at the wonderful castles. The wine tasting was fun and they even had a drink for non-drinkers(esp children😊). Daniel and Sam were great guides- informative and entertaining. We enjoyed lunch in the little town where we stopped. Definitely recommend this tour!

A great day exploring Chateau’s In the Loire Valley!

The Loire Valley Chateaus Tour is a full but very enjoyable day tour out of Paris! The Chateaus we visited were beautiful and fascinating. The tour allowed for a lot of free time which I also appreciated. Daniel our tour guide was fabulous! Very knowledgeable, very engaging, very helpful and knows when to talk and when to give a quiet break! I enjoyed his stories tied to the history of the French royalty in the Loire Valley! He also shared his wealth of experience living and working in Paris by helping with recommendations on places and things to do in Paris! The wine tasting experience was a little crowded and should possibly be split on timing for a large tour group. The tour was a good value for the cost!

Amazing time with our guide Daniel who's very outgoing and knows many things about everywhere we went today, I really recomend the trip!

Enjoyable trip to the country

A very comfortable ride outside the city to see the beautiful countryside of France. Beautiful castles and towns. Learned lots from the guide about the castles visited and history of France.

Terrible communication...

Terrible communication from the company that runs this. We arrived at the meeting point at 7:25, nobody was there. Attempted to call the number provided on two separate phones with international plans - no luck. Messaged Viator at 7:30, heard nothing. Called Viator, the guide left without us. They had to have left prior to 7:30. Claimed they left a voicemail, also untrue. Save your money, do literally anything else.

Strongly Recommend!!

It was the best bus tour I've ever had. The tour guide,Mr Goran was so professional and his explanation of each places and French history was very impressive. Also, his English was very clear and easy to understand for Non-English speakers like me Japanese. The tour itself was also fantastic. I came to France many times but it was the first time for me to visit Loire. I really feel relaxed surrounded by the beautiful nature,clean air,and elegant castles. I'm sommelier, so the wine tasting and shopping was also fantastic. Owe to Mr Goran and the driver, today became an unforgettable day. Thank you very much!!

Nice day trip to France Chateau - from Dubai June 2024

The trip was very well organized. Though start time was bit delayed. Goran as the tour guide is quite impressive and kept the crowd engaged fully during the trip by stating all history behind the chateau of chombard and chateau of chenonceau. However the duration of visit to each of the castles we felt bit short. Along the chateau , the nature and surroundings are very beautiful and therefore it deserves some more time for nature exploration. Apart from this point, no other observation. The tour was well decorated with journey break which is really thoughtful. Would recommend for this trip 100%.

Great way to fit a lot into one day when you’re short on time! The history on the bus from tour guide was helpful and enjoyable to listen to. At times you feel rushed, but I can appreciate we were trying to get a lot done!

Beautiful chateaux visit

Daniel was great. My boyfriend paid for this trip as a surprise for my birthday. It was probably the best birthday I’ve ever had. It was such an incredible trip. The chateaux were gorgeous - I felt like a princess ❤️

Very good

Really great tour, Emma was an amazing tour guide and provided so much information. She really went above and beyond. The castles were amazing although very rushed for time at them. Could skip the first 30min toilet break as it's only a 2 hour drive to first location and not do an almost 2 hour lunch to make more time for the actual attractions.

Overpriced, and too rushed

This trip was mostly spent in a bus. Of the 13 or so hours, you're only really off the bus for about 4 hours. There's a short restroom break at a rest area, 1 hour at Chambord, 1.5 hours for lunch in Blois, 1.5 hours at Chenonceau (which includes the 15 minute wine tasting), and another short restroom break. There's not really much time to do anything besides quickly walk around the chateaux. This trip is good for people who are short on time in Paris and just want to say "I visited the Loire Valley." But I can't help but feel like it was a waste of time and is very much overpriced for what it is. And also don't get your hopes up for the wine tasting... It's 3 wines, 15 minutes long, with very little commentary on production or tasting notes.

Our guide Ifi was excellent very knowledgeable about the Loire Valley. Tour was very well organised and gave a great introduction to the area. Highly recommend the tour.

Maybe cancel this tour when Paris is busy

Because of the D-Day, President Biden visiting, the Le Mans, the French Open, and the Olympics all being hosted in Paris within the span of 3 weeks. We were delayed quite a bit and it turned our all day tour into half a day plus a lot of waiting around. Our tour guide tried his best to play with the cards dealt, but I understand the limitations given the circumstances. The locations visited were great! We learned a great deal of history, some dark, some light, and even some history that's just straight up weird. Loved it!

Do it Through a Different Company

The good: 1. Goran was a very enthusiastic tour guide 2. The Chateau’s were incredible and definitely a must see experience 3. I didn’t have to drive to the chateau’s The bad: 1. The lack of guidance provided at the chateau’s themselves. It was nice to have free time, however all of the teaching was done on the charter bus. Goran was very informational, however I think it’s more of the model of the company that the chateau’s DO NOT have a “guided tour” you can chose to purchase an audio guide at each. 2. The charter bus is outdated. Cracked windshield. A/C condensation dripping from the ceiling. Muffled PA system that sometimes makes it hard to hear the tour guide. 3. I think $160 USD/person (€147) is a steep price for the quality. Upon arrival to the chateau’s the tickets we were given explicitly state that it only cost City Wonders €14/person for admission. And the wine tasting is equivalent to about 1.5 actual glasses of wine and only cost City Wonders €12. So the overhead for each person is €40 which leaves €107/person. There was about 40 people on the tour so that’s 107*40 = €4,280 to pay out the guide and driver for 12hrs. And some gas… I think we can agree there’s some greediness here. So all in all, the sights were great, guide was good, but you can see the obvious need for improvement and where City Wonders is making their money. Would definitely do it again but maybe next time not with City Wonders. Nothing against Goran though. He was entertaining and informational.

Our guide Saeed was amazing! Great storyteller, fun to be with. My only wish was that there was a little more time at the two Chateau’s, but i understand why it is a challenge.

Getting lost and ripped off at the same time.

Our guide was outstanding. He was knowledgeable and passionate! Our review is no reflection on him at all. Our problem was with the bus driver (he got lost!!!) and the stop at the wine tasting (which was a great distance from the other locations) and had very little wine to taste with no tour at all of the vineyard. Instead, it was the owner and his wife pouring wine person to person that would barely fill a thimble to 30 different people in a musty storage area. For the amount of money we paid for the tour this was disappointing. The wine was mediocre, the time it took to get there was ridiculous, and because the driver got lost we had less time at the next castle.

Great day trip

Great day trip. Plenty of time at each stop to see the highlights of each chateau and even grab a coffee. Both are beautiful. Lunch is 90 min. I opted to explore Blois over a sit down lunch. Our guide Daniel was excellent.

Wonderful Loire Valley Tour with Excellent Guide

We took the Viator Tour while in Paris to the Loire Valley and visited a few of the famous castles, including the Chateau of Catherine de Medici, which we especially loved. The whole experience was delightful. Our guide was excellent, knowledgeable, and funny, making the tour even more enjoyable. The timing was perfect – it started raining just as we got back on the bus at the end of the day. Even the weather cooperated with us!

Good amount of time for each stop. Our tour guide Daniel was excellent. Lots of history and very engaging. Lunch stop was good but not a lot of time to see things if you want a long lunch.

The architecture was amazing; we all grabbed lunch. He was great at making sure we were all back on the bus before leaving so no one got left behind

A fantastic tour!

Both castles were fantastic and the guides, Emma and Goran, were entertaining and informative. We enjoyed Blois, but would have liked a little more time to explore. The wine tasting was fine, but the setting was cramped and they didn't seem prepared for a group our size. Overall, a great tour and I'd highly recommend it!

Highly recommend this tour, well worth the money!

Our tour guides Goran and Emma were fantastic with their storytelling; funny and informative. The bus was warm on a cold rainy day and super comfortable. The first castle was spectacular. It’s worth paying 6,50€ for an audioguide as some extra visuals of how the rooms used to look are included on the tablet. The medieval town was okay, grab something quick to eat because half an hour was lost walking with the guides to the town center. Can recommend a restaurant called Poivre & Sel. The wine tasting was great. Great quality, good English speaking wine maker, the Paté and cheese were also good. Wasn’t rushed. The last location could’ve been a little shorter as the castle wasn’t as big, there could have been an extra half an hour in the medieval town instead. The Café there wasn’t great. Overall I would highly recommend this tour and it was definitely worth the money based on the money you save on traveling alone. Beautiful views, awesome all in one package.

A wonderful day with a well organized team

Must See Castles!

Goran and Emma were very knowledgeable guides on 2 beautiful castles! We also enjoyed lunch in a medieval town. Would recommend. Don’t go for the wine tasting - the most rushed part of the day. Castles are worth it!

Good visits. Tasting was poor (there was no room to everybody to seat, wines of regular quality at most, not seem professional.)

Worth time and money

The timing on this trip was great. Bus was at departure location early which was nice since it was raining. Bathroom breaks at gas stations/bakery were provided about 1.5 hours into journey. The tour guide Jasmina gave history of the castles. Additional history of the area would have added to the experience. Time to tour was about right. In retrospect we could have skipped the wine tasting to get a little more time in the last castle but all in all it worked well. Motor coach was clean and driver was excellent. Worth the time and money.
